JPMorgan Chase double debit of purchase

Highlights - Chase double debited a charge on my account, charged me an overdraft fee. Apparently it happened to a large number of customers.

I went to deposit money in my account this morning and discovered to my horror that most of the deposit was absorbed into an overdraft. I checked with the teller at the bank and they told me that the airline had debited my account twice for a recent trip. I called the airline and they explained they had only one transaction record and had only been paid once. They suggested I double-check my account for the transaction numbers. Sure enough, two transactions with the same transaction record number on two different dates. But by this time, a credit for the second debit, but I had still been charged a $33 Insufficient funds fee. I called the bank. When I attempted to reach an operator for "other issues" I received an announcement apologizing for the double debiting of the account and that the account would be restored by the end of the day. I actually spoke to a banker and they claimed that the Insufficient Funds Fee would be refunded by the end of the day.

I was in Las Vegas when my friends and I went to the Marquee night club at the Cosmoplitan. The club required that the table and alcohol be paid for in advance before they would serve us. So the 3K dollar table that we were expecting became 4100 when the terrible server brought the bill. Long story short we paid the 4100 dollars before we were served our drinks and even got one ounce of service. By the end of the night we hadnt used up our 3K dollars with of alcohol so the server suggested we use our 300 credit to take Red Bull and waters with us. I told her that wasnt an option and i just wanted credit in the hotel or my money back. The server basically told me i was screwed and there was nothing that I could do about it. So when I get back to Florida I called Chase and disputed the 300 bucks. They refunded the 300 while they did an "investigation". 2 weeks later I get an email that I cant open from Chase so when I call them they say, "well we got proof from the merchant "the Marquee" that I did in fact sign for and get everything. I said to the person, I already explained my situation and I admit i signed the bill, because they made me pay in advance. WTF! Does that make any sense. Chase sucks. Tell everyone you know that Chase sucks and tell them not to open any accounts with Chase, thanks.

JPMorgan Chase insurance mistake

Hello,
I will ask the same question. Is there a lawyer to file a Class Action Suit.. This is too much.

Yes, I too have problems with Chase Home Finance.
Last year they required a copy of each insurance policy. Sounds like a resonable request. I faxed it to them and the insurance agent faxed the info. In a month I got the same letter requesting proof of insurance. I again faxed the information. The third
Fax someone read correctly. Then it was time to cancell the insurance they had taken out for me.. then our escrow was refunded. Escrow acccount was also changed.. the payment went higher! Again we called.. Now the paper work and the intenet information are wrong. we made the proper payment and they want a higher payment..
seems everything has been adjusted properly except the payment information.. We are NOT late on payments. We do not owe that higher payment.
And the man on the phone actuall told me what my payment was without me saying so! It's so much frustration I can't do my own work. Every time we get a note from them we wonder..
SO, the story goes on.. Again today they want proof.. THey have proof! I"m faxing it yet again.. BUT they still haven't managed to fix their original mistake from last year..Again this man assures me my insurance is ok.. am I to believe him?
YOu can't get the same person on the phone twice.
THere are 3 diffferent deparments, payment, escrow and insurance... and they each don't seem to communicate with each other! COmputer information and the paper bill are not correct.. THey
end their conversation with "and you can check your
payment information on the internet site..! NO I CANNOT! IT IS WRONG.. did you not listen to what I said this entire conversation..

One time the guy said.. "Do you want to keep you house.:" What was he trying to tell me? Another person actually started asking questions that had nothing to do with the problem..

So, I can refi with another local company with a real person present OR I can sell and rent.. this is just too much trouble.. And we are about to do the whole this all over for this year... YOU need to send us proof of inssurance..
thanks..

I have a similar problem with chase. I submitted evidence of Flood insurance on my condo at their request in Sept 2009. They kept sending me the same request. I called and faxed and have confirmed delivery letters to chase with those documents. On my last call in October 2009 they promised me that the matter was fixed and that they had now recieved my documents and i should forget the matter. In January 2010 I recieve my escrow statement and see they have dedcuted $1300 for flood insurance. I tried to call again and keep getting the run around.
I HAVE FLOOD INSURANCE AND THERE WERE NO GAPS IN THAT COVERAGE AND CHASE ACCEPT THAT. THEY STILL BILLED ME.
Is there ANYONE out there that has the courage to take on this group of Bandits and prevent them robbing us blind.! I have no doubt 75% of people would not have noticed the deduction which is well hidden in the escrow statement.
I enclose my email address for anyone who wishes to contact me

JPMorgan Chase homeowners assistance

My wife and I filed for homeowners assistance back in Aug. 09. We had recently been discharged from a Bankruptcy in June. 09. We informed Chase of this in advance and they stated we were eligible for the Homeowners Assistance Program. We made our first 3 payments beginning September as per their request. We mailed all our payments certified with a return receipt. Chase has now informed us on Jan. 13 2010 by a phone call that we initiated to follow up on our paperwork, that we were dropped as of Dec. 4 2009 from the Program. The representative from the Loss Mitigations Dept. stated that she would have someone contact us for follow-up. I am very displeased, but await further info: before jumping the gun on further action!

JPMorgan Chase not helpful to customer's needs

I became involved with homeowners assistance in california, this was a scam stating that you give them $2500 and they will have chase give me a lower interest rate. They advised me not to pay my mortgage and they would work all of the details with chase. None of this is true, they were closed and I received notification from the attorney general of this status. I contacted chase in 6/09 about my mortgage, chase did not offer any assistance or help, I paid back from my 401k over $40, 000 to catch up. I would contact chase numerous times to see the status of my account. Chase never contacted me and when I would contact chase it would take me over 3 hours and I would be transferred to over 12 diiferent numbers. No one would take resposibility or ownership. The reps were ignorant and not caring about customer needs. I was an assistant v. P. At wachovia for 42 yrs. , if I ever handle a customer in the manner chase did, I would of been on probation. Various numbers I would be transferred to: [protected], [protected], [protected], [protected], [protected], [protected], [protected], [protected], this is a disgrace. Today, 1/13/10, I conatacted chase to ask when will they be generating my 2-1-10 coupon payment bill for my 2-1 payment, all of the above numbers could not give me a direct answer. This is unforgiveable, not only could I not get an answer, I was transferred back and forth to all of the above numbers. This happened anytime I placed a call to see if I my payments were received. What happen to the bail funds from the president, this bank did nothing to assist me.

I have had the same exact problem with chase. I was supposedly given a modification in October. I have never received a mortgage statement since then. When I call I am told that I am seriously delinquent and am transferred back and forth to all the numbers mentioned in the previous post regarding chase. At one point the girl told me I was lying when I told her I had made a payment every month since the modification. I don't know who to even contact to help me with this problem.

JPMorgan Chase fraud

I have a 1500 credit line on my chase credit card.
I made a purchase with this credit card for the amount of 1500.
When I received a monthly statement I found that my balance is 1540.50
So I called to customer service and they told me that I was charged 1.50 finance and 39.00 overlimit charge on top of 1500.
The conversation with a supervisor end up with her throwing "have a nice day" and hanging up on me.
I have 2 credit cards with chase but I will be better without this scandalous bank.

My girlfriend pays an extra eighty dollars a year to chase visa(united mileage plus) to have a companion flight voucher sent to her once a year. Basically, when you buy an airline ticket, this voucher allows you to book another ticket on the same flight for a friend for "free". However, chase has stated that they have already sent the voucher and refuse to send another one. Is anybody else running into this problem? If so, would you please email me? This is fraud... which is a felony. If this is happening to enough people we might have a class action lawsuit possible here. My email is ellisnate64@hotmail.com

Be careful of 0% offer for charge cards. I took advantage of the 0% and transferred the balance of a loan to the account. When I used my card for new charges they immediately began charging interest and won't allow me to pay off the new charges. My payments are only applied to the amount that I transferred under the 0%. They are effectively making me pay interest on the new charges over the entire 8 months that I am being offered the "so called" 0% interest, thereby paying more interest than I ever had before as I usually pay in full each month.

Chase is not willing to allow me to pay off the new charges or transfer or credit the new charges.

JPMorgan Chase heloc phone numbers to have

Hello,
Recently my wife and I tried to have our chase bank HELOC increased ( which was reduced a year ago like almost everyone else) ours was reduced from 93, 000 to 11, 000 based on an electronic appraisal chase did that showed our home value had dropped from 250, 000 to 178, 000. So they took 178, 000 and multiplied it by there 80% loan to value and got 142, 000 then they subtracted our mortgage amount (which according to there records) was 131, 000 and got 11, 000 so that is our new limit. But in reality our mortgage amount had been paid down over 30, 000. They used our original info from the time of our application 3.5 years ago to calculate our reduction. They didn’t request current info at the time of the reduction. They simply sent out the reduction notice and hope that you don’t appeal it. In the notice they don’t tell you that they used inaccurate info so we didn’t know they used our original mortgage amount. We found out by calling multiple representatives and asking how they arrived at 11, 000 and one slipped up and told us. When we informed them of our true mortgage amount we were told to fax in a recent statement and it would likly make a big difference but it didn’t they said they used the info they had at the time and it was our fault for not appealing it sooner. They say our only option is to pay for our oun appraisal $400 and if it comes back high enough they will consider and increase now at a 70% loan to value. My concern is how many chase HELOC customers limits where reduced with inaccurate info to calculate them. I went into our local branch and convinced the young branch manager to give me several high positioned chase executives phone numbers that she apparently wasn’t supposed to. Because now they are asking me how I got these names and numbers of these executives but I cant get past there secretaries. I tried the proper channels and am not looking for a hand out we have 2 checking and 3 savings accounts as well as our HELOC all in good standing all payment have been on time and above the minimum payment. We have great credit and plenty of equity in our home, I believe this is chases way of trying to get people to not be able to take advantage of the low interest rates they gave with these loans ( ours is 1.25 above prime) I really believe this has effected many peoples lives and is something alot of people care and would like to know about. And deserves more attention. Not just for me but everyone chase has misled. PHONE NUMBERS YOU NOT SUPPOSED TO HAVE:

You guys all have nothing better to do! Here is an idea, face the facts, you over extended yourself buy lending against the equity in your homes which is no longer there due to today's housing market. Therefore, why would any bank extend you more credit against a property with insufficient collateral value? When you lend a friend money to buy something that wasn't even close to it's worth? Time to start facing that facts and going back to lending basics. Nobody gauranteed you that you could always rely on a HELOC.

In May 2011 I received a letter from Chase bank that I had an escrow shortage. I had the option to pay the shortage or make the higher payments. I chose to pay the escrow shortage. I went into the bank and gave them two separate checks, one for the mortgage and one for the escrow shortage. I had a personal banker assist me to ensure that the money was applied to the correct accounts.
In June 2011 I received my mortgage statement with the higher and incorrect mortgage amount. I called Chase customer service and asked why it had not been changed. They reviewed my account and informed me that I was correct, they apologized and assured me that the correction had been made. I was instructed to make the lower payment for June based on the adjusted amount. I made the payment.
In July 2011 I received my mortgage statement and it stated that I was late 2 payments. My account had automatically gone into collections because based on their records I was late. And they had reported the account to the Credit Bureau. All without reviewing my account. On July 5th, I spoke to Yanita and Dennis David in Customer Service in the Phillipines. The assured me that all the corrections had been made. I called back July 11th to follow-up and John Calixtro informed me that he was going to have to submit a new work order to correct the problem. He told me that he was doing that best he could and asked me to be patient. I have been patient since May 3rd and NO you (Chase Bank) are NOT doing the best they can. While I have included the names of the different people I have dealt with, none of them personally mean anything to me. Except that they ALL represent Chase Bank.
I just got off the phone with Alex Krantz' assistant, once again, she assured me that she was giving my information to Mario Rivera and that I would receive a call before the end of the day. What is it going to take to fix this mess? I will keep you posted.

I have been going round and round with Chase. We applied for a Motification and were denied but yet offered a Forberance Agreement which gave us temp. relief of our full payment for 6-months. Now the 6-months is up and they are now requesting all the money which is the difference between our mortagae amount and the forberance amount, have put negative info on our credit stating that we have been 30 days late since 8/1/2010!

Thanks to the person that started this blog. I am homebound and disabled, and even with the use of my State Atty General, State Senator and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, which oversees banking practices, I am to be evicted because they took out a large sum of money and didn't tell us. We have exhausted all appeals as they say we have no right to our own finacial accounting info because we are in foreclosure, except that we weren't in foreclosure till they took our money and despite our best efforts, took 5 months to tell us why we were in foreclosure with no right to appeal. I was looking for the fax number to Larry Thode when I stumbled across this. Please put pressure on your elected officials but most of all the OCC! who seems to be playing golf with someone at Chase.

Good luck dealing with Chase, "in my opinion" these folks are the most incompetent bunch of people to ever call themselves a corporation. They sent me an overnight UPS "etremely urgent" notice that cost them $43.00 to tell me I owed them 58 cents. If you own stock in Chase SELL IT, if you don't DON't BUY IT! My opinion, my story and I'm sticking to it, if I want clowns I'll go to the Circus.

I just wrote a long comment and it got erased. I am going to make this short... I have ten years or more in the mortgage loan closing business. I have never heard or been treated so poorly has I have been with this company... I am sending out a plea to all who have posted on this site to contact your congressman. Hear and NC we are electing a new congressman and I will be contacting both of them to see what advise they have and to see exactly what they are planning on doing about banks that doing this. We are being taken advantage of and you all have every right to fight this. I will not let this rest until they show me some numbers. They decreased the value of our home by $131, 000.00. We just built our home in 2006. Also, if they require you to pay for your appraisal then you have every right to choose who you want to pay... I am tired of these banks thinking they can run all over people. I do feel sorry for the people that don't know any better and are stuck at this time. You wonder why our economy is in such direstraits. So please contact your congressman and do not give up... That is what they want... I will post again when I find something out.

I am in the same boat as well and just got off the phone with CHASE asking them how to reinstate my original loan amount which has been frozen at 20K down from 50K. I got the exact same answer regarding getting an appraisal ONLY through LSI and the same website! I have excellent credit, a ton of equity in my home, but that electronic appraisal they came up with was $71K less than their ORIGINAL appraisal on the home at the time I opened the line of credit...I have significantly decreased the original mortgage amount but they are not taking that into consideration and are using the original mortgage amount in their calculations! I am NOT going to pay $400.00 to LSI just to be told the appraisal comes in no where NEAR their "target number" that they gave me! Did either of you get anywhere as I see it has been 112 days since you posted your comments on this subject, and I seriously wonder what ever came of either of your fights with them? Did you call the numbers "we are not supposed to know" after they were posted? If so, to any avail? Thanks so much for any responses! ALSO: Is it worth it to fight or just refinance the house elsewhere and roll the balance of the home equity line into it?

We are in the same boat and I've been fighting with Chase for two years now! They completely froze our account and someone also slipped up and told us that they take the lowest foreclosed property in our area and give a bottom dollar estimation. In addition, we are only allowed to do an appraisal through someone they refer; www.cld.elendersolutions.com which to me is an unfair monopoly. I highly doubt that they will be fair and unbiased. Chase wouldn't even tell me that we needed to have a 70% LTV; so I would have ended up paying the $400 for nothing since we only have 82% LTV. They also would not tell me what my home needed to appraise for in order to open the account for me to know whether or not to spend the money for the appraisal. When I told them I was tired of fighting with them and would take my business elsewhere, I was told, "Okay! Have a nice day!"

JPMorgan Chase excessive fees

I was a WAMU customer now known as CHASE. Since the change over I've been charged excessive fees for reason I don't understand. But recently it was the last draw, CHASE charge my account over $600 in over draft fees when there was money in my account to cover my bills & purchases. When I called to dispute the fees the representative hung up on me. I even visited a branch to find out what going on & was told there was no reason for mr to be charged those fees but they can't change it. So now I'm at a lost for over $600 & if I don't pay the over draft my account will be close then a negative report would place on my credit report. I believe this is very unfair what CHASE is doing to people & the GOVERNMENT need to do something about this cause they're the ones that gave them OUR (TAX PAYERS) money. If there's someone out there with advice to help me PLEASE let me know.

JPMorgan Chase billed when paid in full

I have used every option and avenue available to me without an acceptable resolution.

In 2008, I was pursued by a salesperson to get a Pier One Credit Card at the store. After I declined, they kept after me, with discounts explaining how I could benefit from “points”. It has been the biggest mistake of my life.

December 2008, I purchased $23. in merchandise from Pier 1 in Conroe, Tx. I sent a check to pay the balance in full, the same day I sent my payment to Discover Card. I sent it from my parents’ mailbox in Conroe and greeted their postal carrier that day. Discover received theirs before the due date.
I routinely send my payment 10 days prior to the due date and have had no previous problems in doing so.

My account with Pier 1 cardmember services at Chase Bank is now PAID IN FULL. I had, and have a zero balance.

I then started receiving invoices. I called to let them know they had made an error. They insisted my
payment was “late” and that first $15.00 invoice was a late fee. No product, no merchandise, no service.
I disagreed, stating the day it was mailed and stating Discover received theirs in time.

Everyone I have spoken to has had one thing in common:
Everyone admitted there was no actual merchandise or products or services charged. They agreed I had paid my account in Full.

I have spoken to Michael, Mickey, Gabriel, Michelle (more than once), Ramos, Isaiah, Jen, Miliea, Dianna, Nicky, Nhea, Rachel, Andras, etc. I spoke to someone who was shocked. The first person that apologized to me and couldn’t believe this was happening. (I believe it was Dianna, by this time I’d spoken to over 20 people month after miserable month.) She said she would take care of it. She said it was clear I didn’t owe any money & agreed I had paid for the merchandise in full I bought in the store. I was relieved.

The next month I received a bill. She had only taken off a few months of finance charges, late charges and accrued late fees. The original bogus charges were still there.

I responded to a letter I received in July. I stated the names and dates I called trying to clear this up.
I called Pier 1 to advise them of the situation, and that I had received no response. I spoke with Don, Mark and Susie. They expressed they were also NOT happy with the way Chase is treating life long customers like me. I agreed at first I would still shop with Pier 1, and just pay by cash or check. However, a group of are now not willing shop at Pier 1 because of Chase. The best they could do was to give me an extra 2000 point towards purchases. That is pointless. They sent me to speak to several people in the escalation department. A Waste of Time.

JPMorgan Chase Unfair debt collection

This is the worst company I have ever dealth with. They lie, change agreements and state they will put things that you did not say on the record.
I am an attorney and I believe they are practicing unfair debt collection after reading the comments. I would like to start a class action suit against them. I would be main plaintiff representing all who want to join and I would find an attorney for this case. If anyone is interested please contact me at [protected]@aol.com and note Chase auto in subject category.
I could go on about the threats they made to me not knowing I was an attorney!

I am in need of assistance… JP Morgan Chase Auto… has taken GAP monies that were supposed to go to me. After my car loan had been quoted a payoff in one amount; it was paid off in said amount. I had been in constant communication with Chase auto and was told that everything would be credited to me any late fees and all would be credited back from date of said and agreed payoff from dealership. Not only have they denied ever receiving the GAP cancellation monies but after they were paid said payoff amount they not only charged me late fees as well as applying the GAP monies. The GAP was cancelled on 4 Jan was less than 30 days of purchase. JPMORGAN CHASE AUTO has been lying and deceiving me from day one. I was provided a payoff letter with the original payoff amount… now they changed the payoff amount to include the late fees and my GAP in their “new” payoff amount. I was cut a $4 check for overpayment. I am in need of my monies and I am furious at the way they are screwing people that are not in the know… please advise how I may proceed in receiving my monies and ensuring that they are stopped and people are made aware of their lies and fraud?! I have photos and documents…I will provide to attorney or person providing help and assistance. Thank you

I have to agree that Chase Auto is very unprofessional, during the Pandemic they informed me and even sent me written verification that I was current?
Now, since I been making on time payments. Chase is still trying to charge me even after I provided them proof.
I am going to file a small claims court doc
For my monies, and 80%additional for the un professional dealings on my agreement with them. Their so not a good company to go through!

I just had a horrible experience with Chase. They are the rudest, most unprofessional company you can imagine. Do not do any business with them! After 0 notice, payments made on time, I literally woke up one day and they repossessed my car. They lied to me over the phone. They told me that in order to get my vehicle back, I’d have to pay off the loan (22, 900.00). They then demanded I send money through Western Union, Money Gram, or overnight a cashier’s check. I have a feeling this isn’t over yet and am going to pursue a lawsuit against them. Absolutely disgusting company.

Wow! I am having the same issues with Chase Auto Finance. I fell behind on my payments after paying on the vehicle for 4yrs. I made a payment in Oct. and was going to catch up the balance this month on the 22nd. The car was repossessed today! I can't believe they would repo the car right after I made a payment in good faith. I have found multiple reviews of the same issue and even a class action suit of the similar activity that was filed in Minnesota! I am on board for a Class action suit because this company is still committing the same type of shoddy business practices.

Yes I would gladly join. I have been disputing an amount owed on a returned auto for months. ALl the reps are rude and wont help at all. Chase keeps reporting my account late even though I have made payments and keep disputing the amount due. One rep states if I make a payment they won't report late then the next will say until all of it is paid they will report even though I don't owe the entire amount. They have 1 star here with thousands of negative reviews- I bet it would be 0 starts if possible. They are an awful co. No-one should use them!

Currently dealing with an accounting error with Chase Auto and after seeking a resolution, I requested documentation to verify their claim. Original request was made nearly 90 days ago and I still haven't received the documents. They are charging interest every day because I am waiting to verify the discrepancy.

History: Chase Auto gave me a payoff quote which I satisfied fully and additionally received a refund check for over payment. I have also been sent the title to the vehicle which is triggered automatically when payment in full is made. The title has two signatures on it from Chase Auto Finance agents. Originally, when i called to question the bill I received, I was told not to worry and disregard the notice. They say a reallocation of a payment triggered a bad payoff quote. If I do not pay the demanded amount, they will report to the credit bureaus when the account becomes delinquent according to their records.. I have requested transcripts of our recorded conversations I've had with their operators and the request has been ignored.

I would like to participate in a class action lawsuit against Chase Auto Finance. When I was almost finished paying off my vehicle, I received a call from Chase stating that I was behind on my payments, but if I made a payment within the next 3 days with an additional payment within another 5 days, I would be in the clear. I made the payment and 4 days later, they repossessed my car. They wouldn't even give me a dollar amount that I could pay to get the car back. I owed less than $3, 000 on the car and had already paid over $11, 000 on a vehicle that was not worth the amount they sold it to me for. I can be reached at msmay79@gmail.com.

JPMorgan Chase bank fees

When I called the bank today regarding NSF fees I was told it is, "Chase's policy to use the highest dollar amount first". If they had deducted the lower transactions first, I wouldn't of been issued ANY NSF fees. Instead they chose to pay the highest amount first.
I had enough money in my account to cover 2 of the items that came in but they chose to pay the highest one first so they could charge me an additional $34.00 for each NSF.
They don't care to help you out as everytime I call I get the run around. I have been unemployed since October, 2008 and collecting unemployment compensation and can't afford to be charged NSF fees when they are not necessary. Needless to say they would not help me because they can only take off 2 fees off in 12 months.
I could not help that my direct deposit did not post in time as it should have but they don't care as long as they get their money. They have no compassion for their customers as long as the big wigs have their pockets full.
Count me in if you find a lawyer to take a class action suit against them.

JPMorgan Chase scubags

A Tale of Two Dirty Banks
(Boycott J.P. Morgan Chase & Bank of America)

J.P. Morgan Chase is the dirtiest, most corrupt, not only bank, but business in America. I would call them mafia, because they are a criminal enterprise, but I do not want to offend the mafia by putting them in the same category with this ### bank. I guess Jamie Dimon missed his ethics class at Harvard Business School. His company’s policies are a direct reflection of his character, and he is a ### dirty pig. I lost everything and I can’t even get a job because J.P. Morgan Chase destroyed my credit by dragging out the short sale/foreclosure process for over a year. And to pour salt in the wound, my mortgage has PMI insurance, which means the bank doesn’t lose. I have been turned down for two jobs because of my credit and also that H.R. Bill 3149 has not passed yet………I lay in bed contemplating suicide while J.P. Morgan Chase writes out billions in employee bonus checks.
My nightmare with Jamie Pig Morgan Chase Bank………….
After being laid off, I could no longer afford my mortgage payment. I did not want a foreclosure to occur so I tried to do the right thing and located a realtor and an attorney to work with to help facilitate a short sale. I have brought three different buyers to the lenders. These buyers were pre-approved and ready to close. Every time we got close to closing, the lenders would kill the deal. They should be on their knees, kissing my ###, thanking me for finding them even one buyer in this horrible economy and even worse real estate sector, let alone three. J.P. Morgan Chase and Bank of America have lied, manipulated, and jerked us around for over a year. These two ###, lying, dirty banks make my skin crawl and make me want to vomit my stomach contents. One bank representative even told me that “They were going to ruin my credit and destroy my life for putting them in this position.” I put them in this position? I had an 804 FICO Score before I was laid off. I had a 30 year low rate fixed mortgage. I did everything right. These criminals, who should be in prison for their fraudulent activities, now get 7$$$$$$$$ figure bonuses as rewards. Not to forget, these criminals had their hat-in-hand begging the government for a handout of billions of yours and mine tax dollars. Let’s have a brief history listen. The bulge bracket firms on Wall Street are the DIRECT CAUSE of the great recession. They are the ones who bought the crap sub-prime loans, replenished the coffers of fly by night lenders, sliced and diced them, re-named and re-packaged them as Mortgage Backed Securities, coerced and blackmailed the ratings agencies to give them triple AAA credit ratings, and then sold these garbage investment vehicles around the world knowing full well the whole time this was a scam. These banks perpetrated the largest fraud known to mankind. They systemically brought down not only the U.S. economy but also the global economy. Countries such as Iceland have collapsed because they believed the lies that the thieves on Wall Street fed them and over levered themselves to buy RMBS investments. And now that the real estate bubble has collapsed, and these thieves cannot milk anymore revenue from the RMBS fraud, they are trying to create revenue on the backside by destroying the middle class and people’s lives, including mine. I have lost everything. I am three months from being homeless and living in my truck. I don’t have a ten million dollar mansion like Richard Fuld (Former Lehman Brothers CEO) to go home to, hundreds of millions of dollars in savings, or a private jet to fly me home to my estate in Chicago from NYC, every weekend, like Jamie Dimon. The only way an individual can let their anger known is by exercising freedom of choice. BOYCOTT these ### criminal organizations masquerading as banks and take your business elsewhere. They are a disgrace to America.

As an employee of Chase I have to sadly agree that they are one of the most predatory and horrible institutions in the world. They should not only be broken up, but should be banned from doing business with an unsuspecting US public. They cheat, lie, and effectively steal money from clients. They force employees to lie and cheat under the veil of ethical training.
Jamie Dimon thinks he is KING of US finances and acts like it. His lackeys are nothing but hit-men and enforcers of criminal activities. The only thing that differentiates them from criminal institutions is that criminal institutions have a "code of honor". Chase does not. Also Chase has the backing of lobbyists and legions of attorneys that hide the bank's illicit activities behind billions of words that are meant to confuse everyone not in the King's inner circle.
If you do business with Chase - you are encouraging their actions and you are aiding in the economic destruction of our system.

"I lay in bed contemplating suicide "

That is what they want us to do as soon as they squeeze every penny and drop of blood out of us and we can't make them any more money. They ruin our credit so we can't get a loan to help ourselves. I am going through the same thing and you basically do have to pay a lawyer so that everything is documented. They lied to me for over a month saying that they would send me payoff figures and my pre qualified buyers would be approved and there would be a postponement of the sale...they lie. They never sent me anything about payoff figures even though I ordered them three times. They make excuses to just waste time to the foreclosure sale. I called back and now they have no idea what I am talking about with my buyers and postponement requests when they said it was escalated before...just lying so I run out of time and don't get a lawyer and/or document every request with carbon copies.
I have lots of equity in my house and have already paid them double what the loan was...13 years and I gave my improved land as down payment that I srent many thousands on...Yep they are thieves in the night and they would love us to all commit suicide after they have every penny. They could care less about the wives and kids that are left without a husband or daddy and we wonder why the degradation of our society..it has a lot to do with these greedy pigs and they need to be stopped and tried for murder and terrorism against the American people. Killing ourselves is what they want..a dead or inprisoned man cannot fight the devil back.

These banks and hospitals need to be non profit for the benefit of the American people and not the other way around. Capitalism is an evil system. There is nothing wrong with free enterprise and making money, but do we really need billionaires and soon to be trillionaires in a society so greedy as to destroy the country and wage 4economic terrorism against the majority populace? I don't think so. We need to fight and get organized fast. If we are going to commit suicide we need to at least make it worth it...one guy laying in bed is what they want and they will just laugh at you.

Anybody with class action lawsuit info or organizational info or even anyone setting up a grassroots petition to out law these ### thieves post here and everywhere possible.
Even those that lose their homes there are still libraries and wi-fi with internet...fight and outlaw these ### and sue them for their 11.5 billion and our homes back.
We need to combine all these venting and ideas into one. We need to take this to the supreme court and if that does not work we need to change the constitution to where these bank and hospital thieves can't do to us what they are doing, by preying on the weakest and most helpless at the hardest times for them. I don't want my beloved America to be so evil as it has become.

I just spoke with a JP Morgan Chase employee about why they charge overdraft protection fees when I established this overdraft protection in the first place to ward off any going over the limit issues. She told me that all banks do it. Then I said that USAA Bank does not do that. She immediately became defensive and told me that she had two accounts at USAA Bank and they charge overdraft protection fees and she has had to pay that. She also said that her father was in the military for her to be a USAA member. Amazing how she lied to my face. I wanted to double check her claim and called a USAA banker and spoke to her and told her Chase's employee's claims. The USAA banker laughed and pointed to the bold letters on their website which says: "Free Overdraft protection". I immediately transferred a sizeable amount of money to my USAA account. I will end up saving tens of dollars in OD protection fees this year. Even the insufficient fund fees at USAA is lower than Chase Bank's. Do not bank with Chase. They deliberately mislead about their competition and have unethical employees.

JPMorgan Chase fraudulent/harrassing calls

About 6 months months back I was having trouble paying my cards on time. Totally my fault, I'll admit. During that 1 month of delayed (not past 30 days) payment, Chase lowered my credit line from $4500 to what I owed (about $1800), and then in addition to severely jacking up my APR (I'm at about 24% now) added a fee for doing so, putting my account over my new credit limit. Although I called and spoke to several different levels of management over a few hours, nothing was resolved and I ended up paying the fee. Fine. Life goes on.

On my last statement I noticed that although I have been paying minimum on time, that with their finance charges, my account is constantly going over the limit. This statement called for a minimum payment of $115. I started receiving calls from a company claiming to be "Chase Card Services" trying to "help me get my cc under control." The first woman who contacted me was rather aggressive, didn't validate my identity, and was insisting that my minimum payment be about $260 rather than the $115 posted on my statement. When I asked for written documentation of this, she got extremely hostile and averted the question by telling me that this was a service to help me out and she could not produce written documentation. I hung up, called the number on the back of my card. They insisted that the woman who had been calling was not a part of Chase, and stated that if it had been there would've been notes on my account and re-confirming that the minimum payment of $115 was enough to bring my balance back under limit. He referred me to Chase Security where I filed a report.

Less than a day later, I rec'd another phone call from a gentleman claiming to be from the same service. He "verified" (recited) my information, including my address, mother's maiden name, password, everything to prove to me that he was in fact with Chase. He even noted that the note on my account that I had hung up on the last "representative." Scary stuff. He was awfully nice even when I wasn't. I told him about contacting Chase directly and that they had no record of our interaction and that in fact my payment of $115 was correct. The gentleman offered me a few "solutions" that would help lower my APR, which included freezing my account for 6 month then canceling it. Not much of a solution, especially since I've been making payments on time. Regardless, I insisted that I call him back to ensure that this is not a scam. He gave me his direct extension (which I have since misplaced, sorry). I again immediately contacted Chase and they again had no idea who these people are.

Long story short, I paid the minimum as stated on my statement and my account was in fact back under the lowered limit. The phone calls have stopped.

If the service really is from Chase (which I suspect they are, considering they had all of my information, and statement info) they are trying to scam consumers into paying more than necessary. They are preying on those who are already having a tough time in this economy by threatening more fees and charges.

If you receive a phone call like this make sure to get the phone number and name of the "rep" and contact the number on the back of your card.

Greetings and Hii...,
Just to add to the above comment What Chaserocks have mentioned...Since I also work for for Chase Card Services...One more piece of info which might come in handy..The minimum payment on the bill might be the amount past due on the account. But the statement amount due which might be higher than the minimum payment on the account is what you have to look out for to avoid a future late fee of $39 or less depending on the balance on the account...Somtimes the statement amount due might might include the amount past due and the current months payment or it might just include the amount past due if the current months payment is $0...cause sometimes due to some reasons either if chase decides to help the Card Members when did happen in the past, most of our card members were not charged a current month payment.. i.e in the bill u might have seen current months payment is $0...This step was taken by chase to help the card members..
Sometimes the representatives will say that there is a TOTAL AMOUNT DUE which might be higher that the STATEMENT AMOUNT DUE...If the account has gone over the credit limit then the overlimit amount might be included in the total amount due..You might not be able to see this Total amount due in your bill cause the acount due to many reasons might go over the credit limit even after the bill is generated...to find out more about the overlimit amount you can always log on to your account online where u might be able to see what your balance is on the account or you can always call customer service at the back of your card or dial [protected] and they might be able to assist you further with your queries.
Sometimes when we tell our card members about the total amount due they state that it is not mentioned on the bill which might be true as i explained above..but this is also important to be taken care of to avoid a possible overlimit fee of $35 or $39 depending and may vary from account to account.
I also would like to appologise about the rude behaviour..we understand that although at present things might be getting better but still times are though...REALLY TOUGH...Hope and pray all your problems fade away..Wishing you all the best for your future...

Hey hi,
I work for chase card services & you know when your acct is delinquent you get a call stating tht u have missed a pymt & to provide you the best suitable solution after assessing your situation and abt the discrepancy which you had abt the minimum pymt being $115 and the rep tellin you thts its $260 would have been because the rep would have included the past due amt(which u hd missed) and also the minimum pymt for the current mth..eg you got a call on 02/12/2010 staing ur acct is past due & the due date ws on 02/05/2010 & u missed the amt of $115, so when we calll we also include the pym which is due next mth i.e. maybe on 03/05/2010 (which wud nt have been due yet but the bill would have been generated). And coming back to the calls which you get believe me i dont think it ws fradulent, wht you did ws rite by calling the customer service at the back of your card, but believe me or not customer service may not have the record that u had spoken with chase card services because they work fr a different sub department & i will giv e you a number to contact Chase Card Services for future refrence it is [protected] & there are call centres situated in USA, India or Phillipines please dont be surprised if you get in touch with anyone with a different accent. And my profound apologies to you as you had a hard time with a lady you spoke with(the first time when you had got a call) as she was agressive, you know there has been so many delinquent accts these days due to recession that when the reps have bad day they loose their temper which they should not, anyways i hope that this piece of information might solve your query, anyways just take care and as we say "What matters to you matters to us, Chase what matters".

Thank You...

JPMorgan Chase fraud, lies, total bs

Holy crap! I lost my job in June 2009. Called Chase. After going through Collections, the 1 month behind department, the 2 month behind department the 3 month behind department, something called the loan mitigation department and finally the loan modification department that would actually speak with me department I finally got into a trial loan modification program for three months of lowered payments starting in September. And of course every one I spoke with said they NEVER heard from me, although its pretty easy to catch them in lies. Like how did you know my wife was the one that called last time if you're really not looking at a screen with all my info on it as well as your notes on each call?

Remember, this is only because I lost my job and had unemployment coming in. I made each payment early and without fuss. Called today 12/29/09 and they said our modification was declined on 11/17/09! When were we going to be to be notified?
Oh, well you should be recieving something shortly. What the hell? What's shortly? By the second week of Jan 2010!
What was the reason for the declination? Well, unemployment does not qualify as a hardship.
Wait, what?
You're kidding right?
No sir, unemployment is not permanent in nature and therefore is not a hardship.
Is Chase living in the same economy as I am? Can Chase give me a job? No, never mind, I have a conscience.
Why did Chase start me in the program if I never qualified in the first place?
They do not provide any answers other than well, Chase can put anyone in the program and then decline during the review process. Never mind the only criteria I put in my hardship letter was loss of employment, which, by the way, is one of the choices CHASE uses on its forms.

So, now we owe the difference since September and they want our payments to go back up $400/month to what it was before by making payment arrangements with their collections department. Chase demonstrates repeatedly with us that the never intend to help at all, merely string us along and put us in a worse hole than before.

Who the hell can we call now?
I'm willing to cooperate with anyone pursuing litigation against Chase.

I have been trying to get a loan modification from Chase for 14 months when my husband moved out of the home, leaving me to pay all of the bills. My income wasn't enough to cover household bills and the mortgage, and I am facing a hardship. I had a very difficult time getting knowledgeable people to assist me, and it took me "forever" to get my file into the underwriting department. I contacted Chase several times throughout this process and spoke to different representative who would tell me different things were needed every time I called. It was really frustrating, but I got my file to underwriting after about 6 months and i was already getting foreclosure notices. I was denied for modification and was told to submit another packet, so I did. My file went to underwriting, and my house was damaged in the April 2011 NC tornados. My file was somehow closed, but noone could tell my why it was closed. I had regular contact with Sylvia prior to the storm, but none afterwards although I called her several times and left messages. I ended up talking to Sylvia's supervisor, who reopened my file. I called to check on the modificaiton and was told that it was denied. I haven't received any notices about the denial, except for a foreclosure sale date notice today. I called and talked to representative Martha who told me that the modification hadnt been fully denied yet. I guess noone there really knows anything or cares to know anything except that my home is going to be sold in a foreclosure sale on 9/7/11. i am out of options and am running out of time. Chase has not treated me fairly and has strung me along to foreclose on my property.

I am still working on a loan mod... They always want me to fax the same docs over and over... I am still in my home and plan to stay here. I do not know what they have planned for me with my home. I am also pissed off that property taxes continue to go up yet the value of our homes continue to go down. There are so many empty homes in my subdivision. Now I read Fannie Mae is going to the tax payers for another bail out... 8.5b$ i think that is what i read... seriously? no one bails us out..i think they should have to jump thru the same hoops we do when we need a loan...

I AM WITH ALL OF YOU THAT POSTED EARLIER. MY STORY IS SIMILAR TO MOST, AND CHASE SENT ME LEGAL DOCUMENTS ADVISING THAT MY HOUSE WAS IN FORECLOSURE. I CONTACTED THEM, AND THEY SAID THAT I HAD TO CONTACT THE FORECLOSURE LAWYER. I CONTACTED THE FORECLOSURE LAWYER, AND I WAS TOLD TO CONTACT CHASE. THEY ARE FULL OF IT! I CALLED CHASE AND WAS GIVEN THE FORECLOSURE SALE DATE. I CONTACTED AN OUTSIDE COMPANY TO HELP ME WITH MY MODIFICATION PROCESS, AND I AM STILL AWAITING TO FIND OUT WHAT TRICKS CHASE HAS UP IT'S SLEEVE THIS TIME. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. SOMETIMES I FEEL LIKE JUST WALKING AWAY FROM MY HOME AND FINDING ME A PLACE TO RENT WITH LESS WORRIES. I FOUND OUT BY TALKING TO A NC LAWYER THAT IF I LET MY HOME FORECLOSE, CHASE COULD NEGATIVELY REPORT TO MY CREDIT FOR 10 YEARS AND THEN COULD EXTEND IT ANOTHER 10 YEARS FOR A TOTAL OF 20 YEARS. I WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO OWN ANYTHING AGAIN IF I LET THIS HOUSE FORECLOSE. I CONSIDERED FILING BANKRUPTCY, BUT I WAS AFRAID TO DO SO. THE LAWYER INFORMED ME THAT MY CREDIT WOULD BE AFFECTED FOR ABOUT 10 YEARS. WHEN I CALLED MY CREDIT CARD COMPANIES TO FIND OUT HOW BANKRUPTCY WOULD AFFECT MY CREDIT, I WAS TOLD THAT I WOULD HAVE TO INCLUDE ALL OF MY DEBT IN THE BANKRUPTCY, AND I WOULD NO LONGER BE ABLE TO USE MY CARDS. I'VE NEVER MISSED A PAYMENT AND HAVE NEVER BEEN LATE ON ANY OF MY CREDIT CARDS AND WOULD'VE HAD PERFECT CREDIT WITHOUT CHASE FAKE MODIFICATION PROGRAM. I ALSO HATE CHASE!

Chase is pure evil. I too have asked for a loan mod, i was told my income dropped too much and i did not qualify...seriously? i have had chase call me 70 times a week. no that was not a typo. no one speaks good english. I lost my job 6 months now.. i keep asking for a loan mod. they will not send the papers..they tell me they are going to mail the loan mod package out and it never arrives..the have told me unemployment is not income and it sucked to be me... the phone calls from the never stop.. i was told to go to the library print them out and send in the hardship letter and proof of income. I jumped thru that hoop only to be now told you need to send more info. i have it ready for my trip to the chase branch on monday. My house is set for foreclosure sale the first tuesday in jan 2011.i called cccs talked with the lady there, we went thru my financials she felt i would qualify for a reduced payment. we called chase together on 3 way to see if they would halt the foreclosure, i was told we need more info. and the loan mod request has to go to underwriting.. i am afraid they will piece mill me to the point the house gets foreclosed on and i am screwed.
WHY DID WE THE TAX PAYER HAVE OUR TAX MONEY GO TO BAILOUT THE MORTGAGE COMPANY'S AND THEY SIT ON THEIR [censor] AND DO NOTHING FOR ANYONE. I TOLD CHASE TO TAKE MY PAST DUE PAYMENT OUT OF THE BAIL OUT MONEY THEY TOOK. I PAID IN TO THAT TAX POT TOO.. My local county has received 2.6 million to buy up foreclosed home get them ready for section 8 people to move in to.
The mortgage companies only want our homes to turn in to section 8 housing to get more money from the government... it is sure money to them...think about it... the plan is bigger then we could even imagine..

I have never dealt with a company who does not know what is going on! I had cancer in ‘08 and lost my job in ’09. For a while I had unemployment insurance coming in so I was not behind on my house note, but did have to let everything else go.
I called to explain my situation, trying to be proactive, like others who have posted here. I was told that I have to be at least two months behind to even start the process. Like an idiot I did as I was told….that was the beginning of the end.
I went thru the first modification just fine. Got the second set of papers for the next modification, it was a little lower so I was happier. I paid those payments like I was supposed to and even earlier. The third set came to me and it was to be the final set of mod papers before they redid the loan. This set was for 0.00 – when I called they told me that since I “do not have actual income, only unemployment insurance”, this is what they did. I thought OK – you know what you’re doing.
I finally got another job and called to have that paperwork redone with my new income level. I was told that the process has to start all over and since I was already several month past due – it has to be approved by an underwriter and that takes time.
So I continued to pay the normal payments as usual before the mods started. They rejected my payments and instead sent me a new set of mod docs with a new interest rate. I was fine with that because I knew that this was the last step in the process.
I paid each payment and even paid them early. Much to my surprise I came home last Friday to a legal document on my door stating that Fannie Mae now owned my home and I had 30 days to remove myself and my belongings from this property. Never once did I get a letter from Chase, attorneys or anyone stating that my house was in foreclosure!
So now I not only don’t have my house and have to try like hell to save it before the 10th of October, but they took all my escrow overages and applied those to the loan AND they kept the 4 months of payments that I was paying.
I HATE CHASE!

I've been getting that run around for a year. I have called them everyday for eight months straight and taped every conversation. was told that after the 6 month trial payment i would be fixed at that payment. Well that was a lie. every person there tells me I have been misinformed. They called me one morning to tell me i am in foreclosure I called them back 10 minutes later spoke to someone else he said I can be restassured I am know where close to it. I have sent the modification package to them 3 times and every time they tell me it was kicked out and then fed ex brings another. THEY ALL LIE AND THEY ARE NOT GOING TO WORK WITH YOU. This house did'nt even meet FHA standards, had know kitchen or appliances the bathrooms did'nt work the hot water heater was leaking, ac system was shot there was know pool pump and filter. I CAN TELL YOU HOW THERE GETTING THIS HOUS BACK. By the way if your not opposed to relocating. look on realtor .com there are alot of citys that are very affordable and there are alot of houses on the market that need a minimum amount of work that can be bought for cash and i'm talking about 5 to 10 k. Chase pushed me over the edge and i bought 2500 sq ft of house all brick that only needs inside paint for 12k. SO THEY CAN HAVE THIS HOUSE BACK . I WILL NEVER HAVE ANOTHER MORTGAGE AGAIN.

well - its time to try suing

I have to give you an earful of what really happens from my standpoint.

I filed with Chase in July 2009 - not long after I was laid off. I had been in my home 3 years at that point - bought just as the market was at it's highest in 2006. I bought at 6.5% and had a bit more than 5 % down. The house had declined in value some (not like the person above) from about 264 to 229...so i was only negative equity about 8.5k.

I had my personal banker at Chase help me with all the paperwork - it took us hours and I was appreciative. About a month or so later - I received the terms - and the four trail payment dates (the first of Sept, Oct, Nov and Dec). I made each payment on time - or a day or two ahead.

Within a few weeks - as the person above described - I kept getting phone messages and mail that material was not sent in properly - although it was certified by the personal banker. I did the paperwork all over again - plus added all the material they asked for (they not only wanted the 4506T but then asked for me and my wifes entire tax return (which was over 70 pages). I faxed that all in the first week of November (we filed our taxes on Oct 15). It cost me 1 dollar per page - so the entire form was about 90 dollars.

I received calls at both my residence and cell phone daily (usually two calls a day - some days just one) during the rest of november and december - putting me on hold - as they then got back on the line - to tell me everything was "just perfect" - and I should hear something soon.

Between Christmas and New Years - I had called several times to see if I could get an answer - as the trial period was ending. They had no info.

Finally - 2 days before the New Year - I receive a phone call that says all of my information is now "outdated" - and i need to send it in again. As my wife was self employed - i needed to also have a CPA send in a certified P&L statement. In the meantime - keep making the trial payments. No problem.

I sent in all the info again. More money to fax.

Soon i received the daily calls again - for a few days all was ok. Then - someone comes back and says - "you need to sign your hardship affidavit form" - - to which i reply - "there's no place for a signature" - which he then said - "you're underwriter - kristina gordon - requests it - even tho there is no place for it."

I then FAX ANOTHER copy in again. However, I just signed the paper i faxed in about a week earlier. Apparently - that was wrong. I received a call Jan 19 - ish to tell me that the form i signed and faxed and the date that i signed and dated were not matched. I was told "I need to download a clean copy and then re-write it - and make sure I sign it and make sure the fax date and the signature on my hardship letter matched."

"BLEEEEP!"

So i re-wrote the entire hardship letter - four pages front and back - and re-faxed it. More money for the accountant. This time - I went back to Chase - who offered to go through the materials and fax it themselves - which they did. Certified.

In the meantime - at the end of Jan - I go back to my personal banker and tell her the story. The manager comes in and listens. I tell him i hear of stories about Chase giving people the runaround - as I had researched - and he says (I swear) - in a mumbled tone "I would get a lawyer if i were you."

I came out to the car and told my wife - we decided that would be overkill - and it's all just a formality.

In the meantime - I keep making the payments - and I received my two daily calls telling me all was just fine. At the end of Feb - I was told the underwriter had reviewed and written the information - and that the material had gone to a supervisor - and I would get my offer soon.

OH BOY.

After March 1st - I was called - expecting the usual chit chat - only to be informed my information was now outdated - and I needed to send it all in again. Plus a new P&L...it was tax season - and I had to pay an accountant to do that. And re-fax. Hundreds more spent.

I went to Chase - sat down with the manager who told me to get the lawyer - - I was pretty upset - - and I asked him flat out - "am i being taken?" He assured me no - this time - and said if i was patient - it would all work out in my favor.

By April the first - all the info was back in - and accounted for. I received sporadic calls this time - about every 3 days - - but each person assured me that all was good. I exasperatedly told that people on the phone that "last Feb the underwriter was finished - and an offer was forthcoming - why was it taking so long?". Never got a straight answer. Just a few days ago - i was called - and he said again - "you are perfect - and an offer will be made within two weeks." HOWEVER, I received a letter today stating that I was denied because "repeated requests for proper documentation were not met".

Ridiculous. I never missed a payment - even tho it started in September - and now its a day before June - in fact I was early. I sent in HUNDREDS of pages of documentation - alot of the work performed and proofed by Chase bankers - got yanked around by stupid requests (sign the back even tho there is no place for it - etc) only to be denied. I made it my business to make sure i answered every call - sometimes they came within minutes of each other (on each phone) for months - and this is what i get?

So - now i have this lovely paper trail - an electronic list of each call i received from chase - and now it's time to do exactly what the chase manager suggested. I am getting a lawyer - and I am suing. This process is NOT for the workers. It is NOT to help Americans out. It's to string us along until they have a reason (valid 0r make believe) to not adjust the mortgages - keep the money they've been given - and take our properties.

I tried to call today - when i received the letter - but the offices are all closed til Tuesday for the holiday. Oh well - I guess I will just use this time to document all this crap and get everything ready for the lawyer. I will go to chase tuesday and pull all my accounts.

And yes - the last phone call to tell me "everything was perfect" came after the date the letter was stamped and mailed.

Chase has been playing games with us since last May. We have been fortunate enough to be able to make our payments in full and on time. BUT they are now telling us they never received October, November, December of '09 and January of '10 payments! All payments were verified by our bank as having been received by Chase but Chase says they do not have them. We contacted an attorney who told us it takes a LOT of money to sue a mortage company/bank and especially hard with Chase due to their bailout status. We have hand carried proof of payments to the Jacksonville office which was just a waste of gas. They lost the first packet and I've not been able to get a human on the phone to find out about the second packet of proof-of-payment.
Sad, sad day when an unorganized, uncommunicative and unprofessional company such as this gets OUR help and denies us any.

JPMorgan Chase illegally submitted a post dated check

I called Chase to set up a post dated check for my January 2010 payment. They cashed the check the next day. I was left with no money in the bank and insufficient fees stacking up. When I requested the refund, they told me it would take approx. 7 to 10 days to get it back with no guarantee. I spoke to many different people and no one new what they were doing? Does Chase have a quality dept?

I do hope you have gotten your complaint resolved, and goodness knows I have no love lost for this company, but it is my understanding that there is no longer any legally-binding obligation to honor post-dated checks. I would be interested in hearing from someone who knows for certain.

(Back in the day, people honored them whether legally-bound or not, because a person's word and good name meant something.)

JPMorgan Chase banking fees

I had a Chase better banking checking account. I had been getting statements via online only. I recently closed the account. I get an email from Chase letting me know that my statement for this closed account is available online. So I log in to Chase.com, and I can't access the statement because my account is closed. I emailed them and they said they could mail me a copy but there would be a $6 charge. Shouldn't I have access to my final statement online for free, or have this fee waived?

Bottom line- if you plan on closing your Chase checking account, turn online statement option off, so you get your last monthly statement in the mail. (I don't think they charge for paper monthly statement if that's how you usually get your statement)

JPMorgan Chase insufficient funds

Chase has instituted a new policy, programmed in their system, to deduct "pending charges" whenever your account gets close to $0. As well, they maximize their profits, and their THEFT from customers, by deducting charges from greatest to least. I believe that thiss issue needs to be addresses in a legal class action against Chase, and other banks participating in this fraud, and possibly even by bringing criminal charges against the decision makers who decided on this "program". Chase claims that these charges are in the order they are recieved from the merchant. If this is the case the bank should have to provide proof, which they will not. I am a programmer by trade and I know that this system was programmed on purpose to commit these frauds against their consumers, as the evidence is pretty obvious. I am not sure if anyone is legally fighing Chase and other banks at this time, but I do feel that it is time for the public to rise up against them somehow, as we obviously don't have a voice as one. Please email me at [protected]@gmail.com if you have any advice or information.
Thanks

I am in similiar situation after Chase bank cashed in my largest post dated check, my account went to almost negative -$4000, the account was quickly replenished and the balance dropped to neagive -$300. Theny they cashed some checks and denied some and couldnt give me any explaination for the random action. I am pissed off since these becasue the bank manager or the telephone banker were not able to provide sufficent details on why they cashed some checks while rejected some.

I am in a similar situation. However, I transfered money the night before knowing that my rent check might go through. I transfered this money online from my savings to my checking account (both through Chase). That night, Chase put my rent check through, but held my electronic transfer for a whole day! Because they pay the larger charges first, 4 small charges (that had gone through previously that day, according to my online balance) became charges that I now had "insufficient funds" to pay. That is 4 charges of $33 each. I feel set up. I called the 800 number and received no help from the supervisor. I'm going into a branch tomorrow to fight this! Wish me luck.

JPMorgan Chase failure to acknowledge payment

My fiance and I took out a car loan with Chase. We have paid the bill through direct deposit to the account BEFORE the due-date each month. The mental giants at Chase then decide EACH MONTH not to post the payment to the account in a timely fashion. Instead, they report us as being delinquent with payments to the amateur bullies at their collection agency. (By the way, the little incompetents also charge us a late fee each month. I can now predict, on a monthly basis, when the endless round of "roto" calls will be made to our house and when the useless widgets will suddenly realize the payment has been made and, in turn, stop calling.) Have we pointed out the err of their ways to them? Yep, on numerous occasions by phone and by email. And, yes, they can try to be rude, pushy, and domineering. I'm not impressed nor am I intimidated. However, I am Cajun, in menopause, and ready to fight, so I'm sending a letter to Chase today with a copy to our State Attorney General and, if that fails, getting a lawyer. (There has to be a harassment claim in here somewhere.) Oh...and I forgot to mention the other thing I'm going to do: Refinance the damned car and never, never, never go near this company again. Spread the word, folks: When it comes to Chase, it's "Caveat emptor" all the way! Let's put 'em out of business.

I have an Auto Loan with Chase Auto Finance also. I lost my job but was able to pick up income as a rep. I rep variouos products and get paid various time during the month. My payment date is the 15th of each month but I contacted them and told them the 15th would not work. They will not budge. I make the payment in about 8-10 days after the 15th and get harrassed and threatened. I had a great CS rep before and I had no problem because I always called her and she worked with me..now my "papers" got shoved over to a guy that acts like a loan shark and threatens me to the point of hives.

Is this legal? I understand that trouble brews after 30 days but 10 days?.Please advise...I try to go into the actual bank location..but no one has answered my question..Isn't there a grace period? I know that nothing is reported "Late" on your credit report until the 31st day? Please help me...These people are horrible!

JPMorgan Chase rewards program scam

Chase visa rewards program several months ago offered a $50 extra reward if customers would wait until they had accrued $200 before requesting their cash reward. Not only did i wait several months, i began using the chase visa card almost exclusively in lieu of my preferred american express card. Imagine my surprise today to find out they have discontinued this program. I think it is just a scam. They used it to delay people applying for their rewards program cash and had use of those funds that belonged to the customers in addition to customers racking up more charges on the cards. The customer service person i spoke to tonight who told me the program was discontinued in november said it was because of the economy - - that is a blatant lie. The banks got all that bailout money and they are making money hand over fist and continue to scam customers. I think this should be illegal. There was no notice to me that the program was being discontinued - - it just disappeared from the rewards program. I have had other issues with chase visa in the past and now i am just done with them. I probably won't cancel my account because this could hurt my excellent credit rating, but i definitely will not use the card again unless absolutely necessary and may get another visa card from a different bank.
