I went on this web site just to check out what there was in FREE ringtones and I did not want to pay for anything nor did I register for anything, but received a $ 9.99 charge fro Ringaza on my altell bill and DO NOT WANT ANY MORE CHARGES. I HAVE NOT RING TONES FROM THEM, AND DO NOT WANT TO RECEIVE ANY MORE CHARGES FROM THEM.

There's never a "free" ringtone on those sites. Their goal is to sucker you into a program you didn't know about (because you didn't read the Terms & Conditions when you accepted the offer). You are liable for the charge and you must pay it. To avoid future charges, read the fine print and find out how to cancel. Then do so. Then don't ever trust any of the websites that claimn to offer free ringtones, wallpapers, etc... only buy from sources you trust... that's just good common sense.

Rob is correct in saying that very few companies offer 'free' ringtones. You will not find a registration page for Ringaza that advertises free, rather the price is quite prevalent on the pages (see: www.ringaza.com/special or www.ringaza.com/register) and typically in BOLD font. Also, it's not possible to not register and get a charge on your bill. When you enter your phone # you are sent a PIN code to your phone, which includes the monthly cost. Once you enter the PIN code on the web page, then you will be charged the monthly fee. While I agree that their are some ringtone companies out there who do not adequately disclose costs or the offer.....I will say that Ringaza is not one of them. People do want ringtones, they are a great product (you were looking for them, as an example). We all need to work together to ensure that these companies are being transparent in their pricing and offers so that consumers can get what they are looking for without having to worry about the 'gotchas'.

On a related note, if you do not want further charges to your phone bill you should send the word 'stop' to 75714 on your phone. On another related note....Alltel does not allow you to downtown ringtones from 3rd parties (changing soon), you can only download them from your Alltel web browser.

All the best

I never signed up for RINGAZA and I did not even know what this was. this is my third time, for three consecutive months that i have cancelled this "membership". Funny, I dont remember enrolling in this club to begin with. So, $30 bucks later, I am hoping to have this resolved. I do not know how my number was accessed because I never authorized this.
