I had a "lip lift" also known as "lip advancement" approximately 2 years ago by plastic surgeon, Dr. Ross Clevens, located in Melbourne, Florida. Ever since I had this procedure, I have been experiencing tightness, stiffness, hardness that affects my muscular movement. I also have pain, as in burning/tingling sensations and sensitive to hot and cold temperatures which obviously leaves my lips VERY uncomfortable as well as unbearable and I have to suffer everyday, 24/7 with this. The constant movement of my mouth which cannot be avoided, acts as a constant irritant to the scars, causing them to remain irritated, inflamed, etc... This has been a nightmare and has ruined my life! I had a consultation with Dr. Ross Clevens about this and he couldn't come up with a single clue or reason as to why I am having all these problems with my lips. So, I did a lot of researching and investigating on the Internet as well as consultations with other doctors about my problem. They said my problem I am having is most likely due to scar tissue build up which results in a common cause of tightness, pain and discomfort which is exactly what I am experiencing. They also said that I am experiencing some of the problems/side effects that make a lip advancement a procedure that "THEY" do NOT advocate. Dr. Ross Clevens did not warn me at the consultation (before I had this surgery) that this could possibly happen. I was not made aware of any of the side effects.

Also, I have a cosmetic "lip liner" tattoo around the border of my lips where the incisions were made for this lip procedure. (I had this lip tattoo way before I had this procedure.) Dr. Ross Clevens did not tell me that--because of the tattoo--my lips would look horrendous if he were to enlarge them. I would think that he certaintly would have known this would be the case considering the fact that he is a facial plastic surgeon and he has a lot of experience in this type of work.
