I receive multiple harassing phone calls everyday. Each time they call it is from a different number with a different area code. These people have thick Indian accents, in the background you can hear loud voices and phones ringing. They also call my work and harass my co-workers. The threats are all the same: Detective Josh Miller with the Bureau of Investigation etc...except each time they use a different name. They have all my information and threaten me with arrest. They have also managed to somehow access my address book on my cell phone and have called my family and friends. Short of changing my phone number I don't know what else to do. They leave not only threatening and harassing messages but also sexually explicit and violent messages. The local police department advises there is nothing they can do. I have told them to quit calling me, I have reported them to the BBB, and tried all avenues. I am worn out and this is very distressing. I have used up all of my available blocks on my phone. I guess I will have to change my number.

I, too, have been being harassed. They call me and say the same basic things. I told them i was recording them and giving every # they call from to the FBI. Then they get mad at me and start swearing...telling me that they are going to kill my mother, my family. You know they aren't for real b/c no one in a business manner would talk to someone like that. I told them the info they had was wrong and i changed my bank account, and informed social security. They use awful language and say horrific, violent things when provoked. Telling me i think i am such a smart woman, and then degrading me as much as possible. There needs to be more done about this situation. With all the government technology you'd think that they would be able to assist all of us with this problem. I have seen it posted on numerous websites and on the FBI phone scam website, as well.

The same thing happened to me. They called my references which is illegal. They called my work and anf used the "F" word at my co-worker cause she told him I was out on STD. The phone number that keeps showing up on my caller ID is: [protected]. Eric Carter is his name. That phone number is out of Oakland or Berkeley CA. I'm going to sue them and CashnetUSA . I've already filed a complaint with the FTC. Hope I actually get some help.

I had this scam happen to me today! They've contacted my employer, my "references" which are friends and have my personal information including banking information. I will be contacting my Attorney General's office tomorrow, changing my cell phone number, closing my bank accounts and contacting the social security administration.
