I experienced the same thing with cash for laptops. I sent them a laptop with busted screen (which I didn't expect to get much for) and an almost perfect IPhone 4. They quoted me on the Internet for 250 for both after I told them every thing that was wrong with the stuff. First of all the prepaid postage they sent took almost two weeks to actually get back to them because of some weird postal carrier they used. I live in Arizona and they're in Nevada. I could have driven it to them myself in less time. When my package finally gets there I call them to arrange payment and discuss the inspection they conducted on my merchandise. They read off this long list of things that was supposedly wrong with my merchandise. They said my IPhone had scratches on the screen. I know this wasn't the case because the clerk put a screen protector on it when I bought it and I didn't take it off until I mailed it to cash for laptops. To make a long story short my 250 turned into 60 dollars for both. I immediately told them to mail my IPhone back. They tried to haggle with me by raising the price to 75 and offer to pay my pay-pal transaction fees. They went as far as telling me I would have to pay return shipping to get my IPhone back thinking that would make me accept their offer. I told them that was fine and I would pay it to get my phone back. The individual said my IPhone 4 depreciated in value because the IPhone 5 came out. This is a true statement. i knew the IPhone 5 was coming out and that is why i shipped my phone two weeks ago. It doesn't take 2wks for a package to go one state over. They are stupid and I'm sorry I wasted my time with them.

Three weeks before I visited this impressive site of Cash For Laptops and I decided to sell out my compaq laptop that was worth $200 dollar as per its condition and manufacturing model and brand.I checked about approximate price on their website, what I found was $400 for my laptop. I instantly called one of my best friend and asked him about this company reputation as reviews on their own websites were all good. My friend Brian told me that I should call to their customer services to check and assess their authenticity. Promptly I called to helpline of the company and a very polite lady attended my call and said me how can I help you, I was impressed by her politeness. She explained me the whole process and infact she guided me in a right direction that you won't get $220 max for this laptop as we have some technical problem in our software of price estimation. I said okay. Let me think, then I took a chance by sending them the shipping box and called again the same helpline lady and she confirmed me.I gave her my paypal and she confirmed the transaction within a week. After 5 days, I got money in my paypal.I got happy but after reading comments and reviews here, I am feeling myself lucky as most of the people had faced really bad scenarios.

They offered $160 for my used laptop, so I sent it to them. Then, two weeks later, they sent me a revised offer of $100. No explanation was given whatsoever, despite the fact that my laptop was working perfectly fine and was in very good condition. I called their customer service, where I was put on hold for two minutes before getting transferred over to their purchasing department. The representative in the purchasing department gave me lots of excuses as to why they had revised the initially quoted amount. I knew the exact condition of my device when it was sent out. So, I argued with them to give me my device back! I was annoyed of this whole new quote thing. They refused to send me my laptop back, but gave me a counter offer for $125. I accepted that offer because my argument with them wasn’t exactly going places. Very unprofessional people.

Cashforlaptops gives you the best quotes in the business ($75 for my unlocked iPhone 4 in good condition), then give you a minimum price ($35) without telling you that you only have only five days to request for your device to be returned back to you. Cashforlaptops force you to request returns by phone, even though they've contacted you via email at least a dozen of times by this point. I had to call them to get my phone back to Cashforlaptops. Although, I did get connected to a Cashforlaptops customer service representative fairly quickly, he was unable to help me in getting my phone back. In fact, a little part of me actually believes that he did not want that to happen at all.

I used Cashforlaptop and they are a rip-off. They gave me a high quote, and then they took forever to get back to me. When they finally did, they had cut the price they quoted me in half. I was pissed because they had said that I could wait until after the new phone comes out, then send it in. By the time they got back to me with the lowball price change, it was too late to get a good price on Craigslist.

I was quoted $250 for my perfect I phone 5. I received my cheque today for just $90. It was an I phone which was in perfect condition. I can't even begin to comprehend how easily I was cheated out of my phone and money. Please don't use cash for laptops.com. Their quotes are higher than some other websites and I was under the impression that I would get somewhere near that quoted amount. What a surprise I got when I received the check and discovered the amount was nowhere near what was quoted.
Honestly, I don't think I have any alternative at this point in time since they have already sent me the cheque. Please be wary of this company.

This company buys used iPhones and other electronics. I had an iPhone 5s that was in excellent (almost new) conditio. I priced the iPhone on the company's website and they quoted me $143 and emailed me a letter stating the same.
After I sent in the phone I received a check for $11.
I called in to see why I was getting paid $11 when the website stated $143. The representative informed me that the phone was scratched. When I asked for them to return my iPhone they said that that they cannot return phones.
When asked why I was not informed that my payment was going to be $11 and not $143 as promised, the response was that they keep financial information private and do not share over email. However, they openly shared $143 as the amount they were going to pay me for the phone on email.
Typical bait and switch.

Stay away from Cashforlaptops.com . They quoted me $205 for my Sony laptop and after trusting their process and sending them my laptop; they sent me a check for $120! I contacted their customer service, but the executive gave me fake reasons to defend their new quoted amount. After a really long telephone conversation, they offered me $20 more. I accepted their newest offer, it still left me feeling absolutely displeased. I just don’t recommend doing business with Cashforlaptops.com .

I was offered "up to $253" for my iPhone 5s. It had been in a case with a screen protector since it left the store. The only sign of wear was a little spot where the case rubbed the side of the phone making the finish a little lighter. Otherwise it was like new. I mailed it to them on 3/9/15 on 4/14/15 at 6:33 pm (too late to call them)I got an email offering me $15.00 for it. I immediately send an email declining the offer. On 4/15 they sent an email saying I had to call to get my phone back. This would have been fine, but I was out of town on a business trip 4/13 - 4/17 and didn't recieve that email until 4/17 6:30 pm (too late to call). I sent another email declining their offer and called early on 4/18 and was told it was too late to get my phone back and upped the offer to $30.00 which I declined. They then said they were sending me a check for $15 and I wouldn't get my phone back. This is their M.O. promise a lot then send an email, rather than calling you offer a ridiculous price and then giving you just 3 days to call and decline. If you call after that they offer a little more and tell you basically take it or leave it and keep your device. Do not do business with them! THIS SOUNDS LIKE A GOOD CASE FOR A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT. I'm sure they have ripped off 1000's of people by this method.

I found them on the internet under www.cashforiphones.com they quoted me $245.00 for my iphone 4 32gb, it was as good as new. They mailed me a pre paid shipping box with the paper work but the letter head was from www.cashforlaptops.com it made no mention of the amount we agreed on.

I sent them the phone, called them in 5 days, they said to call back in two days. I called back and was told to wait to talk to the buyer?! This man came on and told me the market value had gone down and he could only send me a check for $150.00 . Also, that the back of my iphone was scratched up (i had had it in an otter case?) i told him to send the check as i knew if i asked him to ship it back he would damage it first.

I have a lot of money saved and own my on business so i really did not need the money but thats not the point. I will make copies of the front and back of the check he sends me then cash it. Then i will contact the Nevada State District Attorney’s Office, my good old friend has retired from the FBI but he still has many contacts i will enjoy this payback a lot.

Never ever trust the quotes given by this company! They are much higher than they actually give... Mine went from $67 to $5 for working perfectly good galaxy phones! This company is a rip off. Sell them yourself on craigs list!

They have two websites. Cashforlaptops/eCycleBest. You don't get a choice rather you want to accept the offer or reject it. They never say on the website how much it will cost to send it back if you refuse their offer. It took four weeks to get a email saying there only paying me $9.00 for my Acer laptop after I was told $125.00. I called and wanted my laptop back, but they said it was my mother board and offered me $35.00. It was like they didn't want to send me my laptop back. I took a loss and will never mail anything out again. Your helpless and don't get a choice because for them to mail it back to you, who knows how much it will cost you. They make their money by fixing our items and than selling them. For them it only cost them the parts but we have to pay the labor cost. For example they pay around $40 to $60 for a part and we have to pay for labor cost, so it cost us around $220.00 to get it fixed. They have a con going on here and they are going to have to get fined or sued before they start caring for us their customer.

Total Scam! I was quoted $190 for a new, hardly used Windows 7 HP laptop. My sister only used it a few weeks. I got only $65 through PayPal. I am very upset. Don't use this fraud company. Trade it into Amazon or other trading places. This company gave me a really tough time.

Worst experience ever. Prequoted my mint condition Iphone 4S for $113. Once inspected it was worth $17? I have been on hold for a long time waiting to resolve this issue... Of course there is no escalation process I can follow... So, this will be a first and a last for me as this is a miserable way to be treated.

Had two I-phone 5's on sprint. Quoted 215.00 for one and 216.00 for the second one. First phone they called and offered 100.00. Second phone no phone call and just sent a check for 33.00. Both phones in good condition no issues.

Do not send your Electronic gadgets to Cashforiphones .They quote you a very good price online but pay only 40% of it. They don't even have a direct line to call the purchasing department. First you have to call the customer service and then they connect you to the purchasing department. I talked to their manager and he said that my device was not working properly. He was absolutely wrong as my device was only two months old and worked perfectly fine when I sent it to them. They simply refused to return my device. Don’t ever trust Cashforiphones .

This place is terrible. Cashforiphones.com quoted me one price online for an Nokia phone that is in brilliant condition. After sending it in, it was less than 1/2 of what they quoted. You cannot email them to reject the offer, they only allow you to call in. Every time I have called, They just gave me fake excuses.THIS IS AWFUL. STAY AWAY. DO NOT USE!

Same here. They told me $116 for a small crack on my iPhone and received check it was $10.00. Sent email and will be turning them in. I said someone must contact me and I will send check back for them to send me my phone back. They also said that they would send an email that I had the offer to accept or decline and I never received that. Very disappointed and I would of never did it if I saw these first. I only saw good things go figure should of told me something. I could of sent it somewhere else and at least got $50.00 for it.

Don't ever sell your old devices to CASHFORLAPTOPS.COM. They used tricks to take your devices. I was told I could get around $280 for my iPhon5s and I got finally got only $48 after I waited for 1 month. They never informed me about the price at all during that month. They not only never sent me the check the first time, but also ignored my e-mails. They said that there was nothing they could do after the finalized device after 30 days, but get this, the length of time for reissue was 21 days...
A few days ago, I received my check and it said $48 without any more information attached. I called the customer service and the lady rapped without pauses for 13 minutes after I explained my concern, she hung upon me immediately after she said " thank you for calling, have a nice day" . I got so mad because I didn't finish.
DON"T EVER TRUST THEM AGAIN

I wish I had found this website or thought to look for a website about this company before sending my phone to them. It is time for a class action lawsuit. Any Lawyers out there willing to help us? I was quoted $11 for my iPhone 5 + new cord. The cord was worth more than $11. When I asked for my phone back of course they wanted to up the price. I was told my phone had been scrapped. Crazy since I suppose to get 5 days and I am responding within 12 hours from getting the email. We need to stop them. Anyone willing to join me?

I had a very similar situation sent my ipone5s was quoted $175 on the internet. I had no damage to the phone never dropped was in a otter case the purchasing department claimed the power button didn't work which is false and scratches on the screen. Which was also false. I tried calling the purchasing department over 6 times and was disconnected 5 times. I also send numerous email stating I was disconnected and wanted my phone to be returned. In the 6 time calling I was told that my phone was sent to get recycled which is bull and it's my fault I couldn't get a hold of them. When you are on hold for more than 10 minutes the call is dropped. I was told my phone is only worth $14 and there is nothing they can do about it. The representative Melanie who was extremely rude and very unprofessional places me on hold twice in a 4 minute conversation.
I pray that their is a class action lawsuit against this company and they get what they deserve!

Terrible bait and switch company. They quoted me $90 for my iphone, which was in great condition and after their inspection they said it was worth $13. I asked them to return it to me and they said they could not as it had already been "processed" and they would give me $28. When I expressed that I thought they were a scam, they replied "If we were a scam, why would I up my offer to $28? - but you can choose to take the $13 if you would rather". I had previously sold a similar phone for $80 on ebay and the buyer was completely satisfied. Whatever you do, do NOT send your device to this company!

Here is the terms and conditions I read before I sent in my Iphone 5 and was told by a "supervisor" on the phone that the payment and phone have already been processed. How on earth did it get processed without my consent? And clearly they did NOT give me 3 days to accept this offer that was much lower than quoted. And YES, I know my phone was not in mint condition. I was totally honest with them when I initially gave the overall condition of my phone before sending it in. But, quoting me $10 after the inital quote of $158? I would like to know when this so-called legit company actual gives even close to the quoted price for any device they receive. And then not even giving me the option of getting my device back because it apparently had already been processed? That is absolutely absurd! The only reason I sent in the device to begin with was because it clearly stated in the terms and conditions I had the option of getting it back if I didn't like the offer! These guys are ludicrous!

Here's the terms and conditions they clearly don't follow:
F. Should we, upon inspection of your device, decide to quote you a lower price than originally initially quoted, we will email you notice of such amount and you will have three (3) days to either accept or reject that new lower price. The three days begins upon inspection of your device and our emailing you notice of intended payment either pursuant to the original initial quote or such value as we determine in our sole discretion. If you reject any subsequent quote prior to the elapsing of this three-day period, we will return your device to you within five days thereafter.

I never got the device back. In the end they tried to make it seem as they were doing me a favor to give me $60 only because I was soo frustrated. This was NOT the case. I only requested to get my phone back so I could get more for it locally. DO NOT SEND YOUR DEVICES TO THIS COMPANY!

I had contacted cash for laptops after receiving a $93 quote for an IPhone 4 16gig phone. I immediately sent the phone to them using the box that they sent and had inspected the phone which was in excellent condition. The phone has never been out of its otter box case until we mailed to cash for lap tops.
I later received an email stating that they had inspected the phone and are ready to mail a check for $5 (not the $93 I expected). I contact them and told them I wanted my phone back but was placed on hold for numerous minutes until the system hung up on me and then I immidiately sent an email stating I wanted my phone back. I received an email in return which stated that someone would contact me within 48 hours, which never happened. I had sent another email only to receive the very same response. I then contacted them to inform them that I wanted my phone back and the supervisor said that the phone had very high levels of wear on the front and back of the phone and a lot of scratches on the screen, keep in mind that the phone looked new when we sent it to them because it has always been in an otter box case. The person then went on to say that they could not send my phone back because they had already recycled it and that I did not respond back to them fast enough. Keep in mind that the person from customer service had identified that I had called, it was recorded, which identifies that there was a problem but they continued processing a check for $5, and rated the phone as worn out when it was in new condition. This company is a total fraud and scams the public out of money stating they will pay one price and intends to pay an extremely lower price($5).

STAY AWAY! This place is an official scam. If you have had any dealing with them, call the Asst. Attorney General of the state of Nevada John McGlammory at [protected] his direct line. He will send you a complain form, this company is being sued as we speak.
This company is under an injunction and is being sued by the state, the owner of this company has until tomorrow to produce documents (that will be incriminating).

Here is a link to the local news station that did a story on this company: ktvn.com/story/[protected]/…

This company will quote you a high amount, use fake "Raffles" to encourage you to quickly send your phone. Then they "inspect" the device and offer you around $30 as the beginning of an intimidating heckling "negotiation" process.

Problems in a nutshell:
-they send you the quote late in the week on a Friday
-you have to talk to their Purchasing Dept. to decline their offer
-it is almost impossible to get a hold of them
-they have multiple quotes of their "opening" times to confuse you
-they open their lines 7-10 minutes late to confuse you further, I was lucky to be the first person through
-you have 3 bizz days to get a hold of them (they will tell you calander days when you finally get through their line)
-the Purchasing Dept will tell you it is too late and that your phone has been processed
-they will put you on hold if you interrupt them to scare you into thinking that they can just hang up on you, then come back on the line and offer you $100
-then when they realize they can't lie to you and say calander days versus the bizz days that is in their terms and agreements, they will agree to send your phone back and then hang up on you
-if you threaten with the Attourney General of Nevada, they will call you back and apologize and then offer you $150
-I still declined and we will see if they send back the same phone. I have pics and documentation of the serial numbers of phone, John McGlammory states that they often will send you a broken phone back.

DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE! STAY AWAY AND IF IT"S TOO LATE THREATEN THEM WITH THE ATTORNEY GENERAL!

These people are rediculous and it is the purest form of a scam I have ever encountered. I have no idea why I didn't check these reviews first. STAY AWAY!
