CashForLaptops.com Scam

I chose this company since it provided the best amount for my cell phone. Offer was $303. After testing the market and evaluating the offer i trustingly sent my relatively new phone to this company.

ABout 4 or 5 days later I received the following note: "After carefully inspecting your device by hand, seeing its condition, and following up-to-the-minute market conditions—you’re owed $47 for the device.

This is the same amount we’d pay everyone else for the same device right now, and it follows the Terms & Conditions we agreed upon when you sent your device"

I immediately responded and refused that disrespectful offer as the minimum i was offered was 150 from Best Buy. My response generated a Email stating that they do not respond to emails and to call them. THat is where i am now, after i called well over 20 times, i spoke to several people in Customer service who informed that i need to speak to the Purchasing team, which coincidenlty is overwhelmed with calls and simply disconnect you after 7 minutes. After several interaction and a few attempts to set up a warm transfer i have had it. Ironically i received a follow up email stating that my funds were on my way, which i am assuming is for the $47 as they do not indicate anything else. I have been very clear with them at this point through email( Which i get an Automated response to) and call ( When i speak to Customer service) that i simply want my phone back. This company is a scam taking advantage of us trusting individuals trying to get the most amount of money for our phones.

Similar issue and understand the frustration completely! The Company policy is to call if you do not concur with the value that was made by your Company for whatever device that you may have sent for a cash offer. It is apparent that this Company cannot support the call-in requirement based on my experience to date. I kept getting placed on hold by the customer support department then getting dropped via message due to high call volume. The Company's website has an online quote system that gives you an instant quote result for the potential value of your device which has to be confirmed after the device is shipped to the Company. In my case my initial quoted price was not even close to the price after my device (iPhone), was examined by the Company which was quoted way less. My phone was in excellent condition (mint). Hence the classical bait and switch. My advice to others is to be very careful with this Company!

CashForLaptops.com Liars and cheats

I Got an initial quote for $223 for my I pad 3 32GB wifi unit. It was in great condition and had a cover with all of the accessories. They came back with a quote for $33 which I thought was a typo so I called and verified and then asked for my device to be returned and recited their terms and conditions. Melanie then put me on hold and came back within 30 seconds with a price of $130. I told her that still wasn't enough that I wanted my I pad back and she continued to state it was an automated process and I could either accept the $130 or they'll pay me the $33 original quoted price and I asked her to tell me where in the "Terms and Conditions" it stated that and where I couldn't have my device back and all she kept repeating was it is an automated process and wouldn't send me my unit back. I stated over and over again that I wanted to receive my unit back and said so 10 times only to hear the same thing... "Its an automated process" and would I accept the $130 for the device? They use illegal means of getting you to say yes to their less than offered scam and try to scare the customer into having to say yes or get less money. This company should be put out of business for their bait and switch tactics. BEWARE of tis company!

CashForLaptops.com Scam Alert

I am in shock that a company can get away with this. Just read all the other complaints. Sent in my iPhone 5.. yea it was not perfect.. but it was working perfectly. Web said @ $200 - they came back congratulating me for getting $17 for my phone. I had to read the email several times. Then commenced the customer service goat rodeo. 1. Day after email received.. submitted a request on their site in the form to contact me and that I want my phone back. No response. 2. Called number to be disconnected multiple times due to high volume traffic (which happens all day as it should since they are scammers) 3. Sent email again requesting the return of my phone. nothing. 4. Called again and got someone who transferred me to another department only to get hung up on again. 5. Day 7 called again! got transferred and they said they could not return my phone. I have not been compensated for this phone yet and they cannot return it.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

CashForLaptops.com Bath and switch

This company runs what i know now as a "bait and switch". They offer you a really great price for an item, make you promises that they will take care of it quickly and then once they get your item they keep it for weeks and then finally offer you a price so low on the item that is absolutely ridiculous and insulting.
I had a brand new ipad air generation 5 that i had used for 2 weeks. I just didn't care for it so i decided to sell it. It still had the plastic film on the screen that is how little i used it. This company offered me 373. 00 which i thought was fabulous since i had only paid 400. 00. They offered to send me a prepaid box, it took a week to get here and i mailed off the ipad (In its original box) the next day. It took a week to get it back. They promised me that they would get to it quickly. Note: i had written a note that if for some reason they couldn't offer me thte 373. 00 to please call me first. It took them 10 days to look at my ipad. I received an email on a friday night that they were going to send me a payment of 59. 00! No one called me, they just gave me that offer that they would put into my paypal account.
I tried to call them immediately. . How convenient. . . They were closed for the weekend. I sent numerous emails, they were replied to but they all said the same thing" there is nothing we can do on the weekend, please call at your earliest convenience on monday morning. "
I called first thing monday morning. . Was on hold for 1 / 2 an hour. I was told that i needed to speak to the purchasing dept. At this point, all i wanted was my ipad back. The purchasing manager said my ipad had already been "processed". . And there was nothing he could do! I argued that i had just received the email friday night, and was told i couldn't do anything till monday, so how could they have processed it already without giving me a chance to talk to them? He said they were open all weekend, i could have contacted them. He then said that he could only offer me 59. 0 because the back was scratched (Lie) , and the home button didn't work (Lie) . We went round and round and round, everything the man said was a lie. I just couldn't get anywhere. I had used this company twice in the past with older computers and had always been so happy so this was such a shock to me that i was being treated this way. Finally he said he could add on another 141. 00 making it 200. 00 he could give me. Really? How could he do that all of a sudden? Pure scam
He promised to put the money into my account. I haven't seen it yet and dont really expect to. I have contacted the local better business bureau in nevada and will also be reporting them to the ftc. I am not about to take this lying down. They ripped me off for 173. 00 without even giving me a chance to get my ipad back.

CashForLaptops.com Price Scam - Bait & Switch

Scam - Bait & Switch.
Worst business transaction I have ever experienced. As others have written, you will receive an irresistible price quote. Then, after waiting a frustrating 2-4 weeks (I waited over a month), you will be lucky to get about 10% of the original offer. I got the lovely "your device no longer has value to us do to market changes". No apologies. During the long period of silence in which I wondered if I would ever receive payment or get my phone back, it was nearly impossible to reach them by phone and any email responses I finally did get back were generic and completely unhelpful. Stay away from this scam outfit!
If there was only a way to create more warning to future victims?

CashForLaptops.com estimate not honored

I was quoted $150.00 for my iphone so i sent it in and only received a payment of $12.00. I was expecting a slightly lower payment because the back was cracked and there was no boxes to mark that in the description of the phone. Other than that the screen had use but the phone was in overall good shape and worked properly. I emailed them the day i received the payment with no response and called but after 30 minutes on hold i hung up. I do have a life also. Emailed them again the next day, no response. I emailed them a third time and got a response to call them. I called, talked to a representative that said the payment was correct because there was other damage that couldn't be seen. I said i just wanted my phone back then and she said the three days have passed for me to do this and offered to make my payment $20.00. They should have just went in my pocket and stole $100.00 from me because that's basically what happened.

My quote on - line was very good for two iphone 4 16 gb. . . One was broken and the other was in excellent condition. . . Normal wear and tear. . . Quoate was 160 for both. . . Once they received them. . . They continually told me that they were locked. . . Sent them the passwords to unlock (I had removed that before i sent) . Then the find my phone was turned on. . . I never had that feature turned on, followed their instructions to turn off. . . Did this 4 times and each time icloud stated it was deactivated but they said it was not. . . Ended up with 20. 00. . . Tried to call but on the east coast and they are on the west coast. . . Could never connect. Worst customer service ever!

I had a mint condition IPhone 4S 16GB AT&T. I wanted the best price for it. Apple Store was offering me $50.00 but I knew I could do better. I checked on line and cashforlaptops.com popped up with an offer for the phone of $97.00. I did not do my research good enough to see the horrible reviews this company had. I filled out the form on line. Two days later the box to send in my device came. It took me about a week to send the device to them while I was harassed by them via email and over the phone. When they finally received my device, they notify me via email that they will inspect it and will advise the amount the device is worth. A day later I got their offer - $13.00 that I have to accept it or reject it within 3 business days by calling their Purchasing Dept. I tried to call their Purchasing Dept. for 2 hours the next day, but every time I was trying to speak to someone, 10 minutes later the phone got disconnected. The terms and conditions of their company are that I need to speak with someone within 3 business days in order to get my device back for free. There is no way on getting someone on the phone during the time frame needed, in order to reverse the transaction. This company is a scam and it MUST be stopped. I will make a police complaint against this company as well.

Website quoted over $200 for an iphone 5, and if you dont agree with the offer that you get after inspection they would ship it back to you. Good points they send a shipping box to you. Thats the only good point. I sent of my iphone 5 which was in great/good condition, they sent back an offer for $16 dollars. I called to request my phone to be shipped back to me as their website quotes. The person on the phone spent unnecessary amounts of time attempting to look into why it was quoted at that price to tell me all the things they supposedly found wrong with my device, then attempt to re-offer $30 dollars. I requested to have my device shippped back to me and the lady on the phone said that if I did not stop speaking over her she would have to have me call back another time. I was then told that they have processed the item, cryptic right ? Thats there line for we are not going to ship the item back to you. I then requested that my phone be returned for now the Third time and she stated again the phone has been processed. Then proceeded to offer me $50 for my frustration. Bottom line they will not ship the phone back, this is a complete scam and ripoff. Companies like this are deplorable. Shame upon you cash for laptops you need to be put out of your misery.

They quote your a price for your item then offer you much less. They send e-mails with wrong information so you can't get your item back. They said I had 3 days and their hours are Monday - Friday then when I called on the third day they told me they are open on Saturdays so I was passed my third day. Don't send anything to them. They will rip you off.

Stupid company with worst people they have hired to cater the customer services. I am openly saying to all, please do not sale your electronic items to this company Cash For Laptops as they will give extreme tough time after that they will release the payment. I had been gone through hell and then I got my money for my mini i-pad and i phone 5S. I am extremely pissed of their poor management and ### behaviors.

Cash for Laptops offers to buy used iphones. I sent the my almost new, 64gb iPhone 5s for which they offered $300 for in good condition. I sent it in in the company's packaging and label. I heard nothing for weeks and decided to give them a call. A CSA told me they never received it. I confirmed with USPS that they had proof of delivery and called them back. They said that although USPS had delivered the phone, since it was not scanned into their system, it was considered not received! They offered me $50 US for my phone! I declined and asked for a call from a supervisor. She took my number and promised a call within 24 hours- NEVER HAPPENED. I called again, and a third and fourth time, same answer- same no response. I called again today 3 times, and no supervisors available- imagine that... DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM. I wish I had read the reviews for this organized theft company before trusting them to be honest- NEVER AGAIN!

Their web site said that I would receive up to $307 for my i phone 5 - in like new condition. It was, had everything, even the original box. I sent it in, they "inspected", and said they would pay $45 to my Paypal account. I've asked them to return the phone to me.

These guys are total scammers, hiding a dishonest business model in fine print. Don't do business with them!

Cash For Laptops has very bad customer services and I had a very bad experience with this company. Initially, I estimated for my sony laptop and it was $300 but when I shipped my laptop to Cash For Laptops, they called me back and told me that my laptop is worth $200. I got very pissed and I said I want my laptop back. Then they told me that you will be charged $100 for my special return back shipment. I was feeling terribly aggressive and I said that send me $200 urgent and I cannot afford now more $100 for the shipment. And thanks God, I got my $200. From now onwards, I will not sell anything to this company as they I am not happy with their complex and slow services.

I sent my laptop to cash for laptops.com.It was quoted at $99.The laptop worked well; however, there was an issue with the charging port so I decided to sell it. When I got my check -which took almost a month- it was for $34. I was so angry that I called the customer service, which took OVER an hour, after which they proceeded to hang up on me forcing me to start over. They did not send me an updated quote. They don't return emails, and it takes long time to get to them. Cashforlaptops is bad and misleads people. Be careful in dealing with them, don't trust them.

CashForLaptops.com Dishonest Business Model

SCAM! BEWARE!
I sent in my ipad 2 16G wifi with a cracked screen after it was estimated that I would receive $99. 2 weeks later and with no interim communication, a measly $12 was deposited into my Paypal account. I tried to call immediately but it was not during their regular business hours. There was not an opportunity to leave any voicemail so I started emailing, disputing the amount, repeatedly stating in my emails that i would just like my iPad back and asking for someone to contact me and left my phone number and email address every time. I received no phone call, and at the soonest opportunity that i had, during normal business hours, I CALLED. AND CALLED AND CALLED. It took about an hour and a half of holding and getting disconnected and then when I finally got ahold of someone, I found out that the day I received my payment they had recycled my iPad so i couldn't even get it back, even though it says in their terms and conditions that i had 3 days to dispute the amount. Conveniently, they only take disputes verbally but it is impossible to actually call them in a timely manner. I was offered an additional $23 after going round and round with a very unprofessional agent on the phone who was OBVIOUSLY making things up as he went. He even tried to say that I had responded to an automated email account and that's why I didn't receive any responses. Also tried initially to make up additional damages that were not on the iPad. When I asked to speak to a supervisor I was told that one wasn't available. He just kept telling me that if i tried to talk to them, i wouldn't get any better result. In the end, out of sheer frustration I accepted the $23.

Please don't deal with this company. I can't even believe they are still in business.

I sent the a perfectly running Toshiba Satellite laptop with 17 inch screen and Windows 7. Quote was 185.00. After 3 weeks, I get an email "Good News" we have appraised your device for $27! What? Surely there has been a mistake. What person in their right mind would sell a working laptop for $27? They are definitely scammers. Don't do business with them. I wish I had read reviews first.

CashForLaptops.com scam

Ecyclebest and Cash for Laptops WARNING
If you are in the market to sell your Apple product do not use Ecyclebest or Cash for Laptops. I had a really bad experience with these businesses. I will elaborate on this, but in short…do not use Ecyclebest or Cash for Laptops. Use Gazelle instead.
In November 2013 I wanted to sell my Ipad2. I got a quote from Gazelle for $220 and a quote from Ecyclebest for $240. Both proclaimed to have similar services so I went with Ecyclebest.
Nov. 23rd. Ecyclebest received my Ipad. In the email Brian said, “Your package should arrive at our processing center within the next 9-12 days.” That seemed like a lot of time to “process” an Ipad, but OK, I had never done this before.
Dec. 5th: I received an email from Ecyclebest. Brian stated “Your device has a password that is preventing us from completing our inspection so that we can make our final offer and get you paid. Without this information, we will only be able to offer a fraction of what we would otherwise. Please respond to this email ASAP with your password so that we can continue. Let’s get you paid!”
So I responded to the email immediately. I didn’t know the password or PIN. That was one of the reasons I wanted to sell my Ipad since I had not used it in 6 months. Nowhere on their website does it warn you about this being a problem. It doesn’t warn you about anything…just send it in. I also knew that it is possible to restore an Ipad to factory settings without the password…so this made me a bit wary since they are going to restore the Ipad anyways in order to re-sell it.
Dec. 26th: I receive an email from CashforLaptops. “We haven’t heard from you in a while and we want to help you get paid fast for your unused electronic devices. The last offer we made for your device was $70.”
First of all, I never received an offer for $70. I even checked my Spam folder. A bit less than the original quote of $240. And all because I don’t have the password? It goes on to read:
“According to the terms and conditions on our website (http://www.cash4laptops.com/terms), if we haven’t heard back from you in 30 days after we make an offer, we will automatically issue a payment in the amount of the last offer. Today is Day 23. We need you to call us at [protected] in the next seven (7) days if you want to discuss this offer further. We're sorry, but, at this point, we cannot accept communication via email.”
I called them and left a message: “ I am very unhappy about the $70 offer. Please call me back to straighten this out.” A woman called me back within 10 minutes. In short, I wondered why the price dropped from $240 to $70 when they are going to restore the Ipad anyways? She insisted that their “certified technicians” could not do this without the password and that it was only good for parts. Huh. So she is saying that if you lose your password your Ipad is useless. People forget passwords ALL THE TIME. While she is defending this falsity I am 100% certain that it is possible to regain factory settings WITHOUT A PASSWORD. But no. She would not budge. So I told her how to do it so she could inform her “certified technicians” then I hung up.
Jan 6th. OK, I waited long enough. I called and asked for them to ship my Ipad back to me. Under the terms and conditions you are allowed to request this at any time. I also let them know that I think they have an interesting way of increasing their profit margin. Later that day I received a phone call from a different woman. This one wanted to know what was going on and wanted to keep me as a customer. Would I take $90? No. I want the $240 that was quoted to me. Nope. Their “certified technicians” could not figure it out. She even said they tried my suggestion and it didn’t work.
Jan 15th: I received my Ipad. I proceeded to restore it to factory settings…even though I am not a “certified technician.” It took less than five minutes. I went to Gazelle.com. Since so much time had passed while dealing with Ecyclebest, the quote from Gazelle decreased from $220 to $160.
Jan 21st: I mailed my Ipad to Gazelle.
Jan 23rd: I received an email “Your box has reached Gazelle.”
Jan 23rd: THE SAME DAY THEY RECEIVED MY IPAD: I received an email that Gazelle had transferred $160 to my paypal account. THE QUOTED AMOUNT.
Jan.24th: I’m writing this note to alert consumers about Ecyclebest and Cashforlaptops.com.
Just for fun I visited the two sites for a current quote on an Ipad 2:
Ecyclebest: $240
Gazelle: $150
Guess which one is realistic? Go with Gazelle..they have integrity. You will not get $90 more from Ecyclebest. What you will get from Ecyclebest: Wasted time and aggravation.

I wish I had found this site before I fell for their scam. I had a iPhone 4s that I wanted to see. I have used the phone very lightly. It had a Zagg invisible shield screen protector from day one. Also, it was in case. IT WAS IN LIKE NEW CONDITION. I Got a quote for $265 from cashforiphones (the subsidiary of cashforlaptops) and sent the phone to the, in its original box, with cable, charger, etc. I finally got the call telling me to call them back; which I did. After a 45 minute wait, I am greeted by a CSR who tells me that there is "Good news". They had inspected my phone and were pleased to offer me $115.00. What happened to the $265, I asked. Well, it seems that there were scratches on the side (there were none) and there was wear on the "Home button". Seriously? I let my displeasure be known and told them to send the phone back, after which he asked me if he could get $100 more would I take it. 45 seconds later, he had "talked to his manager" and they would pay me $215.00.

I have sold many phones, iPads, etc., to other reputable buyers. I thought I would give this scam organization a try; what a huge mistake. They make you jump through hoops only to lie and scam you out of the dollars they promised. I plan on also reporting them to the BBB. This is unconscionable.

CashForLaptops.com Questionable business practices

Over a week ago, I submitted the correct information about the model number and condition of my laptop computer which was in "perfect working condition" and they gave me a $110 quote. I shipped it to them the next day. Today, I got a call from them saying that my computer was "too old" for them to buy and they would be willing to recycle it for me or return it. I insisted that they return my laptop as promised in the "same condition" I sent it to them. I take good care of my computers. Even older models that work perfectly are valuable to the right buyers. I don't advise anyone to do business with these people because they don't honor the quotes they give people and will try to come up with any "flimsy" excuse not to do so. Now, let's see, if I actually get my computer back in the same condition it was sent to them. Their representative estimated that I should have it back in about seven days. I would have probably sold it by now by placing an ad on Craigslist!

I just sent my i5 and the quote went from $192 to $33. I read the reviews. Can't believe the Feds have not shut them down. Just want the $$ or the phone. Just got the email. Wondering what threat tactics work and if the follow through will stop the fraud?

I had issue with this company, not for cutting my quoted price, but for just simply not communicating at all. I got a few emails saying I had to verify my phone number on my account or call them. I did both. I called and called and called. No one ever answered. I ended up filing a complaint with the BBB. that prompted action! I quickly got a phone call and my $$. So end result was good, but the path to that result was rocky. Not saying I would recommend them, but I give them credit for following up with me and resolving the issue 100%. And yes, they gave me the full quoted price. OH, and I had done business with them a few years ago and it all went very smoothly, so I naturally went back to them when I had another laptop to sell. Would I do it again... hmmmm maybe.

I sent my iphone to these shysters. They quoted online $284. Everyone else was about $200. So I went with them. Their website looked ok. It took like nearly three weeks for them to "inspect it", and then I had to call them to "complete the process". I must have spent an hour on hold in total, calling them at least 4 times and sending them complaints in the meantime. When I finally got through, the dude told me that the price of my phone had dropped drastically and they could give me $120 only. I said "send it back", and magically he upped the price to $180. I didnt trust them at that point, and said yes, not thinking I would ever see the phone again if I said for them to send it back. I say they are bait and switch people, very unprofessional. DONT EVER DEAL WITH THEM IS MY ADVICE.

CashForLaptops.com Bait and Switch

BAIT and SWITCH!

I had an iPad 3rd generation which was less than a year old. The iPad was a gift When we took it out of the box, we immediately had a Zagg shield installed and then put the iPad in a leather case that was specifically designed to keep the edges and corners completely covered.

We upgraded to a larger iPad and decided to sell this one. I got an offer online that was less than what I could get on e-Bay but decided to avoid the hassle of ebay. I accepted the offer. Got the kit and sent it back in the 2 days that would get me the bonus gift.

Fast forward several weeks. I received a call from Cash for Laptops with an updated offer that was 60% of the original offer -- $140 reduction. After complaining for more than 30 minutes and then being put on hold for 15 minutes, I was connected with a "supervisor" who assured me that he would personally look into the situation and then call me back within 24 to 48 hours. This supervisor promised that he would send my iPad back if we couldn't come to an acceptable price.

The next day I got a call back from someone else who upped the revised offer by $20. I told that person to send me my iPad back. He told me that I had agreed to letting them evaluate the machine and adjust the price. When I told him that the other supervisor had agreed to return my iPad, he came back with another $20 increase. I told him that also was unacceptable and that I thought the company was a bait and switch company. He came back with another $20 increase and told me that I had to accept that because I had agreed when I first accepted the offer.

After a long, unpleasant conversation, I agreed because I felt like I had no choice.

While I understand this company has to make money ... I think they should be honest with people and let them make their own decisions. BEWARE!

CashForLaptops.com Scammers!!

I sent me 1.5 year old laptop to cashforlaptops.com and was quoted 170$ for it which we were set on because we r planning for a baby. The only thing wrong with my laptop is a cracked screen which can be fixed for 50$ which is hard for us to even come by. I was so excited to get that amount and called them before they called me. I got allowed of Brian who is department manager and he tried to only give me 70$ because there was scratches all over it and the mouse wasn't working...the problem is there wasn't any scratches and the mouse worked before I sent that. He then tried to get smart with me and say well do u have a microtechnology degree and can distinguish minor scratches from major ones and I can promise you my workers didn't do it...then who the hell did. I really needed the money so I got up to give me at least half the price of the inital offer and now going to warn the world how they stole and cheated their way out of giving a product for what its actually worth...

I had my two laptops sent in with an original quote totaling 150. Here's what happened after I submitted a request for the box.

They will send you the free UPS return box within few days, super fast. They will send you a reminder email everyday, because they want your laptop in their hands as soon as possible. No kidding- everyday they will send you a notice.

Then after I sent my laptops, I did not hear anything from them for more than 2 weeks. After I got the emails regarding confirmation of the finished inspection with no quote mentioned, I still did not hear back for another 2 weeks or so. I called them something like 3-4 days in a row, left voice message, but no response at all.

One day I managed to talk to someone in the customer service, and this person quoted me $10 for one laptop, and $50 for another one, when the original quote was $50 and $100. I complained about how it seemed so unfair and more, then the bargaining talk began between us. He quoted $60, I asked $90, he said $70, then I asked for more.

In the end it was a bitter experience. Extremely unsatisfied with their service. I don't recommend sending their laptops to this place at all.

Cashforlaptops.com made a bogus offer of $207 online for my Iphone 5 16g ATT phone. Everything on the phone worked. It spent its whole time in an Otterbox Defender case. Game Stop offer $80 cash or $100 instore credit. So I thought I would shop the internet and got this offer. So I sent them my phone in the box they sent me. I believe they also go by E-cycle. Once they had my phone they sent me an Email offering me $13. That's crap and Fraud. So I email them back that I just wanted them to return my phone. The responded that they don't except emails and that I need to call them at [protected]. This number is nothing but a big phone game to them. It's always busy. I must have call over 40 times in two days. When you do get through after about 15 minutes waiting for someone to pick up then they will transfer you to a Purchasing Manager. While you are on hold for the Manager after 10-15 on hold they will disconnect with you so you have to start all over. So on my fifth attempt with a real person I get a Purchasing manager who says my phone has already been processed through their automated system and they won't send me my phone back. They say they have already processed my payment of $13. So the manager tried to settle with me at $60. Mind you even after this I ask for my phone back many, many times. She where's me down into agreeing to take $60. A few seconds later I realize it's not the money it's the lies and Fraud that's making me made. I never agreed that they could have my phone for $13, but they won't return it. So I tell the manager that I don't want her $13 or $60, I want my phone or nothing. Her response is I've got you recorded as excepting the offer and hangs up on me. Doing business with this company is buyer beware and you won't be happy. I should have read more reviews, I typically do. Learned my lesson.

I sent in a crappy laptop the first time and from $165 quoted, they offered $120 because of "scratches on the front and screen". i thought fine, it had scratches, i just want to get rid of the thing.

a month ago i sent in a mint condition samsung omnia smartphone - barely used - always in silicon case and with a screen protector. cleaned to shine. sent it in original box with all accessories. quoted price $65. email device received, we'll contact you. one month later i called and asked why no one has spoken to me. in two days email - new offer $20. excuse me?!?! called the hotline, left a message simply order number so and so, telephone number so and so, call me back. they called me back. first person wasn't "authorized" to do anything so i told her i wanted the device returned. she said she's not authorized to do that either and she'll have a manager call me. 2 minutes later the manager (i give her credit, she was very nice) i spoke to said inspector report says "scratches on back and screen". REALLY? i am starting to think there are no inspectors at that place because it all sounds oddly familiar. i told her politely that that's not true and why. i said all i wanted was a fair price for the device and i was not getting that so i wanted my device back and i'm done doing business with them. i told her i'd rather donate it to someone that can use it then give it to them for $20 and what they do is all kinds of illegal. all of a sudden she was authorized to offer me the full quoted price just to make me happy.

if they are trying to scam you, call them and be polite but firm. maybe take some pictures of the device condition before you send it.

bait & switch but i give them credit for one thing - they do answer their phones and call you back. it's much more than any of the other scams out there do.

I got a quote for my iphone for $150. When I sent it they Re-Quote me at HALF the price (at $70) -- WARNING: These guys are the very epitome [and perfect example] of Rip-Off/Bait & Switch. In my situation they noted that there was "wear" on the backside, but I ALWAYS had my iphone in a protective leather case, from DAY ONE that I brought it, and a transparent screen protector for the front (so it was essentially FLAWLESS all around!). -- So, overall, they quote you ONE thing, but switch it later - BEWARE!

Said will pay me $46 for Inspiron 6000 DDEll, after all they just want pay $5.

CashForLaptops.com Fraudulent business practices

Attached is a copy of complaint filed with the bbb of nv
Went online to cashforiphones.com (Herein referred to as “c4p”) on or about 28 aug 2011 for quote for two undamaged i phone 4s 16gb. Price quoted was $375 per phone ($750 total) . Sale id numbers are 176620 and 176621. Both phones were less than 6 months old and kept in rubber cases. Phones were in pristine condition.
Phones were packaged in accordance with c4ps policy and mailed on 2 sept 11. Phones were received on 12 sept 11 and signed for by matt of c4p @9:20 am. Finally spoke with brian at c4p regarding the phones on 19 sept 11. Was offered $175 per phone (Total $350) . Refused that offer and told brian to either give what was quoted or send the phone backs. He then began to haggle. Refused all his offers until we agreed upon $300 per phone (Total $600) . The funds were to be deposited via paypal the next business day 20 sept 11.
On 20 sept 11, received email from paypal that deposit had been made in the amount of $500. I immediately called c4p and spoke with brian. Brian insists that i agreed to $250 per phone. I informed him that i know this to be untrue, as i was not happy with the $300 quote as i could have received more via ebay. I then told him that i would refund the $500 and i wanted my phones back. Brian stated that once funds were paid the transaction was irreversible. Again, i informed him that the amount paid is not what was agreed to.
I then asked to speak with a supervisor. I was told that none were available and none would call me back. Brian then informed me that the calls were recorded, so he can prove that i agreed to $250. I told him to play the recording, to prove that i did not. He refused to do so and tried to end the call.
Seeing that our conversation was going nowhere, i then hung up the phone and called back and asked for a manager. Brian was placed on the phone. Again, i hung up, called back and asked for a different manager or supervisor. I was informed that none were available and i could leave my information for someone to contact me back. I then asked who would be calling back and if they supervised brain. The receptionist became rude and just kept stating that someone would call back. Then she stated another manager. She refused to answer if they supervised brian or not, despite repeated demands that someone above him return the call.
At this point, we either want our phones returned in the same condition given or the agreed to amount paid.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.

I was duped by cash for iPhone. They quoted me $275 for an iPhone 6Plus. So I sent them my phone. After a couple of calls they said that my phone was being inspected. A week later I got a check for $31.00, not the $275 I was quoted. I took a picture of the quote and saved all correspondence with these people. I also recorded my last telephone call with the owner who is a woman. She said "your phone is used and not in good condition. I said that phone was encased in an Otter protective case since I bought it. There was not a scratch or ding on it. Shen became very rude. I then said I will be following up with the police and Sprint. She then told me to F off. I talked with Sprint, reported it stolen and they put a block on the phone. Sprint also did a phone trace and traced it to Sparks, Nevada. I went online and filed a police report with the Sparks, Nevada police and spoke with them on the phone. They stated that they have so many police complaints about this company::Laptop and Desktop Re[air, LLC, 84 Coney Island Drive, Sparks, NV 89431" that they have contacted the Nevada Attorney General. I have also made contact with the U.S. Postal Police. This company has committed "mail fraud", which is a federal crime, and are now being investigated by them as well. I suspect they have committed more than 1, 000 acts of mail fraud. that makes them eligible for prosecution under the RICO laws, Racketering and Organized Crime. I encourage all who have been scammed by this company to file a police report with the Sparks, NV Police. They have an online website to do that. These people belong in jail. Also a class action lawsuit can be filed against them for Conspiracy to Commit Fraud. A civil suit would attach all their assets and bank accounts.

Three weeks before I visited this impressive site of Cash For Laptops and I decided to sell out my compaq laptop that was worth $200 dollar as per its condition and manufacturing model and brand.I checked about approximate price on their website, what I found was $400 for my laptop. I instantly called one of my best friend and asked him about this company reputation as reviews on their own websites were all good. My friend Brian told me that I should call to their customer services to check and assess their authenticity. Promptly I called to helpline of the company and a very polite lady attended my call and said me how can I help you, I was impressed by her politeness. She explained me the whole process and infact she guided me in a right direction that you won't get $220 max for this laptop as we have some technical problem in our software of price estimation. I said okay. Let me think, then I took a chance by sending them the shipping box and called again the same helpline lady and she confirmed me.I gave her my paypal and she confirmed the transaction within a week. After 5 days, I got money in my paypal.I got happy but after reading comments and reviews here, I am feeling myself lucky as most of the people had faced really bad scenarios.

Ive had a horrible experience with this company as most of you had. At least the rest of you got something for your phone, i got the shaft! They gave me pre-printed shipping labels to send my iphone 4 in, so i used them along with their trackiung number. I am unable to get their tracking number to work on usps.com. Now with 2 phone calls to this place, they claim that the warehouse received the phone, but they dont know where it is. Hey, they received it; they cant find it, not my problem. Since then i have had no offer or received a dime for my phone. They are basically stonewalling me and stole my phone.

Quoted $97 each for two iPhone 4S in perfect condition. They then said they will mail checks for $16 each. They need to be shut down by the attorney general. Don't use them and send warnings to everyone. Their websites need to be taken down. They operate under cashforlaptops, cashforiphones, and ecyclebest.com. All are scams and need to be closed by the law enforcement. All employees should be held liable as well as they know the scam that is being presented.

I am joining your numbers as one who was scammed by this group of liars, cheaters, and thieves. They quoted me $120 for my like new iPhone 4s, 32g, ATT phone. I then received a check for $18. Judging from the number of complaints, they have really raked in the dough by taking advantage of trusting people. I have used Gazelle in the past and will definitely go back to them. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. I'm still hoping someone shuts this fraudulent operation down.

It was impossible to get through them and when I finally did they said that the phone was recycled already. They are not responsive and they do this on purpose to deceive people. They are a scam.

What a scam. When you want to call to reject the offer, you can't get through. Then tried to do it by email, that doesn't apply to contract. I sent them an iphone 5. It was in excellent condition, no scratches, dents, etc. The phone was well cared for. The earbuds were never used, only a year in service. They offered $32. What a joke. do not get scammed by this company! It s disgusting how they can get away with what they do...I will do everything in my power to make sure people do not do business with this company!

How can we file a class action suit against this company. I'm sure at the rate they have ripped people off the suit would be for hundreds of thousands of dollars or more. I would be willing to give the law firm half of what they owed me, just to stop this company.

In the mean time everyone they have ripped off needs to post the story on Facebook, twitter, etc. to get the word the word out. I have included a PNG file that you can use in your posts.

CashForLaptops.com - Price Scam & Damaged Laptop

I experienced the same thing with cash for laptops. I sent them a laptop with busted screen (which I didn't expect to get much for) and an almost perfect IPhone 4. They quoted me on the Internet for 250 for both after I told them every thing that was wrong with the stuff. First of all the prepaid postage they sent took almost two weeks to actually get back...

CashForLaptops.com Scam

They quoted my $300 and then they said that there are scratches on the screen and on the back.

It's a 2 year old laptop and there will be some wear and tear.

Now the second offer is exactly the half of original qoute.

If you don't want to sell at that price then you have to pay shipping of $20 plus there's no gaurentee of getting it back in same condition as you shipped.

So I have to accept there offer below the amount which the costco recycle program was giving me.

It's better to go with a trusted name rather then going for a little higher amount and then end up getting even lesser then what i was offered initially by trusted names.

Stay away from these guy it is a ripoff.
Got a quote for 4 item, Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 ($453), Asus Nexus 7 ($133), Asus Nexus 5 ($247) and a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 ($342). Of course I did not expect to get these Quoted prices but expected to get close to it as gear was in good condition. I received their Inspection offer on Dec 4 for 3 of the items Note Pro ($68), Nexus 7 ($20) and Nexus 5 ($39) and was told there was a problem with the Galaxy Note 3. I call them about the Galaxy Note 3 about the problem and asked to speak to their purchasing department but Customer service rep told me to wait until they inspected the Note 3 before I talked to them. He told me that I would get an email on Saturday about the Note 3, email never came. So tried to get in touch with them on Saturday and could not get through to customer service and was told to call back Monday. Spent most of the day on 8 phone calls trying to get in touch with Purchasing department with no luck, Last phone call was at 2 pm PST when I was told that Monday was their busy day and I should call back tomorrow. After 10 phone call on Tuesday I finally get ahold of someone from Purchasing to go over quotes and was told that those were the prices that they where going to pay so I asked for my gear back. They said they no longer had my gear that it was "all ready Processed" but would send me $250 more for the gear. old them that I did not want extra money just my gear back and was told sorry there was nothing that they could do.

I was quoted $84 for my HP Pavilion ZD8000 laptop, so I ordered a box and sent it to them. Approximately 10 days later, I received a call with an offer of $5.
Needless to say, I was not happy. We finally agreed on a price of $30.

I followed up by reporting them to the BBB and here is their reply:
"Our website offers an estimate of what the device might be worth under ideal circumstances. We do receive devices which are still in the manufacturer's packaging with the seals still intact. For these devices, we pay the amount listed on the website. Anything outside of these criteria receives a revised offer."
In other words, unless you are shipping a brand new item to them you will never receive their quoted price.
