I purchased a sophia fiori venue ring on San Juan, PR. Carnival Cruise lines guaranteed repurchase of the ring while on the cruise within 30 days. This is a complete lie on the part of the cruise line. We returned the ring to Ventian Jewelers who claimed we damaged the ring. Carnival Cruise Lines turned me over to PPI who stated they only tried to negotiate a settlement with the Jeweler. Venetian Jewelers will do anything or state anything to keep them from admitting they sold a defective product. The ring was resized and this caused lack of integrity of the setting. We have a Gemologist's Report saying the setting was not in any way jeopardized.

We will continue to use our attorney for redress of grievance.

Our 20 year old daughter is sailing on Carnivals Panorama this week. This is her first cruise. She has been in the ship’s jewelry store a couple of times and the staff has been extremely rude, very disrespectful, unprofessional and snooty! You know, just because someone comes in to your “store” not wearing Prada doesn’t mean they don’t deserve the same respect and customer service as someone who does! She is SO upset at how she has been treated! As her Mom, I am upset they would treat her so rudely! The staff needs an attitude adjustment and to be taught to respect ALL patrons - regardless of what they look like or what they are wearing!

I purchased an emerald and diamond ring for $2, 200 on sale from $3800.
When I return home found the SAME RING at Macy's RETAILS FOR $1, 000.00 on Sale $268.99 (73% off)
Did a little research and found out that the same jewelry company supplies Carnival cruise line.
I paid with American Express so they only will only allow up to $500.
I found out that had I purchased with my Debit Card I could have filed a claim on it
DO NOT BUY JEWELRY on Cruise ships.
I thought they would have the BEST Emeralds..
It really is a scam

it took me a year to pay off the cruise on the carnival sunshine that left port Canaveral on april 28, 2017. the cruise was for three ports, aruba was the first stop, it was dutch labor day and everything at the port was closed for the holiday.( with the exception of small, privately owned shops). that was not what we signed up for and not what we paid all that money for. what we really got was two ports and a wasted shopping day because aruba had the most shops . perhaps the person responsible for arranging the itineraries for the ships should have known this and arranged for the ship to stop at grand turk first and then aruba last. I consider it poor work to have done it the way it was done. I know you need dockage but the only other ship in the area at the time was the carnival dream. the rest of the docks were all empty. what a shame to treat long time carnival travelers in this manner. we are members of your platinum club. doubt if we will make diamond.

Ship was great and food was good, BUT, we purchased an emerald ring with diamonds for 2, 000.00 at the Effy store on board Carnival Breeze that turned out to be seriously flawed when it arrived at my home. They sized the ring and TWO months later I received it. The ring I received looked nothing like the one I purchased. A local jeweler who sells Effy confirmed there was a large inclusion and a crack down the center of the stone! Because it was purchased on board a Carnival ship they could not help me. (they did tell me that Effy sends seconds and discontinued pieces to cruise ships)

I contacted Effy many times for months now and they ignore me. I contacted Carnival and they told me it was up to Effy, the dealer on board to make it right. So much for Carnivals one year, no questions asked guarantee! To date, I have a worthless ring that cost me 2, 000.00 and neither Effy or Carnival seems to care about.

NEVER EVER buy jewelry on board a Carnival Cruise Ship!

we traveled on royal Caribbean in dec of 2012. we were told by the person in the jewelry shop that the venetian shop on st. marten was one of the approved shop backed by the ship. well not true.
first the shop is operated by a 3rd. company, they wear royal Caribbean name tags ( ? ) which royal Caribbean emailed this to me. my problem we purchased Sophia fiori ring and some bands on the ship, and one band at the shop in st. marten in dec. 2012. in march 2013 we had another trip planned so the person on the ship said if the ring/bands do not fit bring them back them and we will have them sized than. they said then they rather we send the ring, and bands back to Sophia in calf. we did that, sized the ring and bands and mailed back to us. only problem they replaced one band with another not close to the color we purchased.
the 3rd. party ( not royal carabbean who said they back everything did nothing ). the only problem is no one will buy back the purchase of the $2, 300. bands in st. marten, even when the person on the ship told us to shop at this shop.
lastly venetian jewelers is owned by elba and the own Sophia fiori line as well.
