We're pretty sure that if CareCredit showed up wayyyy more often on ComplaintsBoard and paid more attention to reviews and complaints, it would lead to better results. But for now, the resolution rate doesn't show successful interaction with customers. We advise reviewers to be careful when communicating with CareCredit and be ready for the chance your problem might not get a response. CareCredit payment charges

We have a CareCredit card which we made and electronic payment to from our bank account.
The payment due date was for Sunday 12/28/08. We scheduled our payment for Friday 12/26/08, two days earlier than the due date.
We have confirmation that the electronic funds were paid to CareCredit on 12/26/08 from our bank.
CareCredit contends that they did not receive payment for our account until 12/29/08.
They have charged us a $29 late fee. We tried to clear this up by calling their customer service department but they would not assist us. We have mailed a formal disuput over the charges, but they have assessed another $15 penalty for not paying the late charges.

CareCredit late fee

GE MONEY BANK HAS CHARGED ME TWICE FOR LATE FEE'S, THIS IS DUE TO ME NOT GETTING MY STATEMENT'S IN ENOUGH TIME TO SEND PAYMENT TO THEM, THE 1ST LATE FEE WAS CREDITED, HOWEVER THEY REFUSE TO CREDIT THE SECOND LATE FEE BECAUSE IT'S WITHIN A 1 YR PERIOD. I FEEL THAT THIS IS NOT MY FAULT AND BELIEVE THEY ARE RIPPING CITIZENS OFF BECAUSE OF THERE STATEMENTS ARRIVING LATE AND THEN CHARGING THEM LATE FEE'S. CUSTOMER'S BEWARE AND AVOID GE MONEY BANK IF POSSIBLE. FROM THE OTHER COMPLAINT'S I HAVE READ, I SEE THAT THIS IS NOT UNCOMMON THAT GE MONEY BANK DOES'NT MIND RIPPING US CITIZENS OFF. I WILL BE SPREADING THE WORD ABOUT THIS COMPANY TO MY FRIEND'S AND FAMILY AND TO WHOM EVER I CAN TO AVOID DOING BUSINESS WITH COMPANY.

I'm having the same problem with them and I ended up calling them to inform that they never sent me a bill in the mail and the lady whom I've spoken to, swore up and down that a bill was sent, that's a lie! I am so sick and tired of them, I regret that I'm involved with them and working on paying them off so they can get out of my life for good! I have other bills to pay besides them and their bill is unnesessary!

CareCredit bad service

Care Credit/ GE Money Bank has posted a charge to my account without my knowledge, approval or signature due to Arlington Family Dentistry charges that were not legitimate. Services were done without approval of patient, even after the patient advised them NO. Business has promised to issue credit to patient, however, instead they did not advised patient until after Care Credit/ GE Money Bank posted the charges. Care Credit and GE Money Bank was advised of the error, pending the dispute, however, they have not replied via E Mail or correspondence. When I received my statement, the disputed charge was posted on my account plus late fees. I had closed my account and advised themof the dispute. They have ignored me. I have telephoned them with no results, noone answers the phone, only a recording. Please give me advice or tell me how to solve this problem.

Hello,

Just as a curiosity, have you ever got to a resolution on these fraudulent charges? I'm having the exact same case as you ... however on my end I do have a proof in writing that this charge was completly unathorized and done in colaboration dentist-GE MONEY!

I'm filling complaints everywhere: "Office of the Atty General", "Office of Thrift Supervison", "ConsumerAffairs", the banks's Head Quarters offices, BBB - Office of Professional Discipline (against the dentist, this time around) and most likely will file a small claims suit to recover all my expenses with this nonsense.

Thanks

Hi, I had a horribly experience with care credit/ge money, I filed a dispute against my dentist because he made unauthorized charges on my care credit account
and also he made additional services without my approval, the scams continued because the dentist wants me to pay AGAIN for a crown that has been already paid in advance, he also scamed me several times on my dental account journal, this is a long history but after I submit my dispute papers, to ge money and I provide plenty of evidence, still they rule out in the dentist favor without collecting evidence from him and, I kept fighting with GE Money employees since last october until now but they just ignored my complaints, I kept writing them letters and they responded always with negatives and, finally this month of 3/09 they sent me the bill plus more than $1000 in finance charges, plus they told me if I don't pay in full this balance of $2860 plus the finance charges, they will charge me
over limit fee in the amount of $1117.
Ok, I already told them that I will NOT PAY THIS BILL, this dentist lied in his response saying that "ALL THE WORK OF THIS PATIENT HAS BEEN COMPLETED TO HER SATISFACTION" I proved with evidence that he didn't finished my dental work.
Ge Money can keep adding on my bill all the finance charges they wanted, they also can put me in collection, but I told them that I will never going to pay this bill.
I am determined to take this to the last consequence, even if my perfect credit get damaged, I still prefer that to pay this group of scamers.
It is ovious that they ruled out in the dentist favor because, the dentist give Care Credit/Ge Money customers and it is their convenience, they protect all the health providers, if any care credit cardholdler files a dispute which is my case, the cardholder WILL NEVER IS GOING TO WIN.

I would like to know how to tackle this obnoxious company. I was charged a total of over $300 in interest. I had attempted to make the last payment (interest free for a year). The online system allows you to make an automatic deduction, or a one time payment. I paid the automatic deduction to clear the balance, and on the next statement, this amount was only paid in half, and I was charged 225 in interst. I called immediately, and was told by the rep that he could see where I had tried to pay, and was told if I paid $211, it would be cleared. The phone was then disconnected, and I though it an odd amount as that would not clear the balance. I called back a few days later (as it takes almost 30 mins to get thru to someone). I was again, told that they could see the amount that was tried to be paid, but before they could give me the correct amount, the phone line was again disconnected. I tried once more, and yet again. It was very frustrating, and I was getting concerned about the due date, so went online and made anothter payment of $211. The bill came the next month, and there was more interest, and no deduction. I again called, and was told that I should have paid the amount by the first time I had called, and that all the interst was valid. I became quite angry at the operator, who then referred me some sort of "specialist". This person was even ruder, and hung up on me. I wrote a letter to the company, and then had a call a few weeks later from somene in customer service who was requesting payment. I explained that I was disputing things, and she told me that she would only take the payment of the amount that was not taken out the first time, ie, less the balance. She reassured me that while it was being diputed, that I would not have to pay the interest.
Wrong, I got the statement again this month, and even more interest. I called again, and got the same rude person who had hung up on me, and told me that all the interst was valid. I tried to get him to explain to me why none of the amounts were not taken out, and he told me there was no record of that. And of course, when I go online there is nothing either.
I have records of my phone calls only, the website only shows what was deducted, not what I had tried to pay, however, they seem to have access to this.
I don;t want to pay a lawyer, any advice would be appreciated. This company should be shut done, but not before being exposed.

From similar past experience with these ###s, the only thing they understand is small claims court. Usually the threat of it will do. If not, follow through and sue them for harrassment. It will work!

CareCredit fees

when trying to make a payment by phone for $15 with a person, prior to due date, i am informed the payment wont be posted untill after due date and a late fee of $39 will apply as well as a fee of $15 for assisstance.
when trying to pay with the computer by phone, a $10 fee will apply for using service and a $39 late fee will apply because it will not post until after due date.
after having this account for years, today i see a finance charge of $137.33, supposedly for deferred interest on a promotional purchase, of which i was never informed of at the time of purchase.
when trying to utilize their website i also get the runaround.
i have been paying more than the minimum due to try and pay off this acct and have it close in good standing for my credit report but this is getting ridiculous.

I went to pay my bill and was thinking of just paying it off. When I got the statement I noticed I was being charged an account security fee which was the amount of the interest I also pay. I never was told about these fees. What do I need to do to get all these eronious charges revered.

My payment was due on the 13th of each month. I attempted to make a payment on [protected] on line. It would not allow the payment to reflect on this date.. I had to choose the payment to be on the 14th of Jan. At first I couldn't understand why I was not able to select the 13th as a posting day. Then after looking at my statement, the statement states that payments must be in by 5pm Eastern time. I'm in Central time. So therefore they took my payment as a late payment fee. This is wrong, and this is why hardworking individuals get into the situations they do. This is a way for the company to basically state; "Well you were late with your payment." I feel a payment should reflect the day and time the payment has been made regardless of time zone the issuing credit company is in. If anyone knows of a class action suit against this company please post.

CareCredit customer service

I am trying to contact this company and their customer service is closed on Saturday. I have never heard of a credit card company that didn't have some kind of way to contact them, but is only available Mon-Fri. I have gone on their website and there is only phone number, which is only good Mon-Fri. I have looked for email address, an area on website for questions about your account. THere is nothing, accept to call back on Monday. They attempted to take $50 payment by way of ACH which was way I tried to call..to stop payment. This is the worst customer service I have seen for a credit card company. Worst website, worst. You are out of luck if you a problem on Saturday.

CareCredit unncessary credit denial

I have excellent credit (even did my own credit score to double check and it was in the top 5% (over 95th percentile) I have a good job and own my home with a reasonable mortgage (can pay it in one weeks pay) The home is worth 3x more than the mortgage value.

I was simply looking to increase my credit line with them from $1000 to $1500 to cover the expense of banking my new baby's cord blood. I can pay it up front but will loose the promotion of 12 months no finance charges if I do.

I was denied the additional credit and told I had to wait 7-10 days to find out why by mail. I am due to give birth any day. The person on the phone had NO compassion. And NO clue what she was doing.

I had an account with them in 2006 and paid every bill on time. I guess they don't like customers with good credit who pay thier bills...

You are better off being denied. Here is why:

a.k.a. GEMB, GE Moneybank, GE Money, CareCredit, Kwik Comfort, JC Penney Credit, others.

First:
Go to www.complaintsboard.com. Do a search on CareCredit, GEMB of GE Moneybank. You will notice they have a running scam.

1) Their offer is for interest free financing if the balance is paid in full after x-months, usually 18-24.

2) No matter if you mail in your payments, have autopay from your charge card, or direct debit from your bank account, GE will ALWAYS claim they did not receive your payment, or received your payment late. Why? Then they can add late charges! And of course, your last payment is always lost, therefore “you did not pay-off your balance in the predetermined time frame”. Then they try to collect a huge interest payment effective from the inception date.

3) You cannot contact the company via e-mail; they ignore e-mail.

4) You cannot get a response via snail mail; they ignore your letters.

5) If you are willing to sit on hold for 45-60 minutes, and punch in your account number countless times, you may be able to reach a person with a pulse. In most cases, the employees speak/understand English, but are not overly bright.

6) Said person will claim your payment was not received, or received late.

In my case, I had electronic records of every payment. I also paid extra every month. When asked that I provide the proof, I faxed copies of the electronic transaction records as well as e-mailed same. Of course, they "never received it" despite the fact that I was holding the FAX confirmation in my hand and looking at the e-mail receipt.

Advice:
1) If you have entered a contract with these scammers, beg, borrow or steal whatever
amount of money you owe them. DO NOT PAY INTEREST OR LATE FEES (unless
you actually were late). Send a CERTIFIED CHECK, RETURN RECEIPT
REQUESTED FOR THE AMOUNT YOU CHARGED less any payments already
made. Write your account # and “Paid in Full” on the check.

2) If you did direct debit or credit card payments, close the bank account or cancel the
credit card IMMEDIATELY AFTER the check has cleared or the withdrawal is
posted. They tend to post charge card debits almost immediately.

3) Save all your evidence should they threaten to come after you. However, they won't
because they would lose; I am telling you from experience. I threatened them with
court and was refunded all interest and late fees.

4) Check for class-action suits in your area; there are many going on nationwide.

Here is a letter another gentlemen sent to CareCredit/GE MoneyBank:

To Whom It May Concern:

The purpose of this letter is to file a formal notification of complaint alleging numerous violations of the Consumer Credit Protection Act (15 U.S.C. 1601) on the part of CareCredit, in that CareCredit, aka GE Capital Cons Cardco aka GE Capital Consumer Card Company. GE Capital Consumer Card Co. is a ""creditor"" by definition of 15 U.S.C. 1601-§103-f (Consumer Credit Protection Act) and therefore falls under the federal jurisdiction of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). GE Capital Consumer Card Co. has knowingly and illegally: - made a promotional offer of ""interest-free"" or ""deferred interest"" which, by its actions as enumerated below, it had or has no intentions of fulfilling, said offer falling within the definition of Section 226.2 of CCPA.

- levied late fees and finance charges when payments were actually received - and deducted from my bank account - PRIOR to the due date, - charged illegal and exorbitant ""account security"" fees without any form of legal disclosure or explanation as to what those charges may be, constituting a ""surcharge"" under sections 103 and section 167 of the Consumer Credit Protection Act (15 U.S.C. 1601), hereinafter referred to as CCPA. - has instituted retroactive ""terms and conditions"" without proper notification, in violation of § 226.7 of the CCPA. - has provided such ""terms and conditions"" in a format that appears to be a third- or fourth-generation unreadable photocopy consisting of print so small and faded as to be illegible, in violation of § 226.5.

- has made it virtually impossible for customers (clients) to contact them in a timely manner by failing and/or refusing to answer telephone calls for periods of up to 7.5 hours (by placing the customer on hold for such lengths of time) and by failing and/or refusing to provide any means on its web site of contacting CareCredit by email or any other means than an unanswered telephone line. - has acted to quash any meaningful payment inquiries by refusing to provide requested information to the bank upon which payments were drawn, in addition to failing to provide telephone-answering staff as alleged above. DETAILS: Application for the above-referenced account was made under a ""promotional offer"" (Exhibit A - promotional offer), which provided for no interest if the account was paid in full within 48 months.

This agreement was for the issuance of a ""medical credit card"" issued by GE Capital Consumer Card Co, 5300 Kings Island Drive, Mason, OH 45050, to cover dental (oral surgery) expenses in excess of that which were to be paid by the payee's dental insurance. The debt agreed upon was to be $1, 500.00. The first payment was due September 4, 2004 (Exhibit B - statement of payment due).

Payment was received via electronic funds transfer on September 2, 3004 and was deducted from the payee's bank account prior to 2 pm the following business day, September 3, 2004 (Exhibit C - email from USBank, formerly and aka Firstar Bank). The minimum payment on the above account is $45 per month. The defendant states that ""payment is due by 5 pm on the due date"" to ""avoid additional finance charges."" Payment was received and cleared well before that time.

Electronic funds transfer payments through USBank is guaranteed to arrive on the date specificied. This form of payment was chosen specifically to ensure timely receipt of payment, since US Postal Service delivery to and from payee's address is often very unreliable. In four years, I have had no problem with electronic funds transfers reaching their destination late.

The payee then received on Sept. 13, 2004 a ""late notice"" (which bore no postmark and was, in fact, bulk mailed - Exhibits D-1 and D-2 - envelope and late payment notice) claiming that no payment had been received, when in fact, it had. In addition, the payee was informed that a late fee of $35.00 and an ""account security fee"" of $23.25 had been charged additionally. In a document received Sept. 13, 2004, after the contract was entered into, labelled ""Account Security Debt Cancellation Agreement"" (Exhibit E), there is no mention whatsoever of any ""account security fee"".

Payee contends that this ""account security fee"" constitutes a hidden and therefore unlawful interest or finance charge, in violation of federal law. On that date, Sept. 13, 2004, payee attempted to call the phone number provided [protected]) and was informed by a voice recording that ""due to a high volume of calls"" there would be ""a lengthy wait time"". Payee kept the line open and was on hold for 3 hours 47 minutes before finally giving up, unable to speak to single human being during that time.

Additionally, the payee contacted the bank (Exhibit F - email) to notify them of the allegation by GE Capital Cons Cardo that no payment had been received, even though existing bank records clearly documented otherwise. USBank aka Firstar Bank responded to the payee on Sept. 14. 2004 (Exhibit G - email) that it was investigating the matter, then followed up with another communication - also Sept. 14, 2004 (Exhibit H - email) that ""GE Capital Cons Cardco will not discuss customer accounts with third parties"" and suggested that the payee call [protected] - the same phone number which GE Capital Cons Cardo will not answer.

An additional payment of $55.00 was made by the payee and received September 17, 2004 and deducted from the payee's bank account on Sept. 18, 2004 for the payment of $45.00 due October 4, 2004. No statement was received for a November payment, due Nov. 4, 2004; however electronic payment was made and received Sept. 29, 2004 in the amount of $100.00 (Exhibit I - details of USBank transaction printout), even though the payment due was $45.00. For the December payment, due Dec. 4, 2004, an electronic funds transfer in the amount of $100.00 was scheduled to be received Nov. 18, 2004, though the amount due was $45.00.

On November 12, 2004, payee received a statement from GE Capital Cons Cardco (Exhibit G - statement) claiming no payment was received for October and that a late fee of $35.00 had been assessed, as well as a ""finance charge"" of $106.64 and an ""account security fee"" of $22.38. The payee was also informed that the ""promotional offer"" had expired on an unstated expiration date, in violation of the agreement made and the promotional offer (Exhibit A). Also on November 12, 2004, the payee again attempted to call both toll-free numbers provided and was informed by a recorded message that ""due to a large volume of calls"" there would be a ""long wait time."" After 2 hours and 17 minutes, the payee again gave up, and on November 13, 2004, sent this document with a certified letter to the defendant.

In summary, payee has so far paid $400 on a $1, 500.00 debt and is informed the balance is $1, 563.13. All payments have been made and received before the due date. The payee asks for full restitution of the unlawful and exorbitant fees in the amount of $463.13 charged by GE Capital Cons Cardco, as well as all attorney fees and costs pursuant to this matter, and for full reinstatement of the ""promotional offer"" terms which were, and are, part and parcel of the agreement between the payee and GE Capital Cons Cardco.

The payee hereby notifies you, under the requirements of the Consumer Credit Protection Act. [15 U.S.C. 1601], that the aforesaid charges of $463.13 are contested for the reasons outlined above and that no such charges will be paid in the future. Payments will be made to repay the original amount of $1500, as contracted, in the time length necessary to avoid interest fees, per your ""promotional offer."" It is my intent to file legal action - as a class action suit if possible - and to seek full restitution and double damages as provided for in the Consumer Credit Protection Act

CareCredit don't trust them! unbelievable problems!

We had an account opened in 2006 to pay for dental work. We paid the complete $1500 balance off in full ahead of schedule in 2007. This account was in perfect standing, no lates, zero balance and they hounded us to use the $1500 of available credit every month. So we didn't use it for a while but then our dog required emergency surgery and we spoke to carecredit on the phone and they referred us to a vet that accepted them for payment. My regular vet did not take carecredit. So they tell me on the phone on 10/28/08 that yes we had $1500 credit and get the procedure done at their approved vet, interest free for 90 days. I get to the vet and explain that all work is contingent on CareCredit and please verify it first. Well the receptionist just nods and assures me its all fine no problem. Then I come to get my dog after they do $1000 surgery and my card is declined! CareCredit then says they had closed my account back on 9/30/08 due to inactivity. They didn't tell me this the day before and the website didn't say anything but the opposite. In fact I had a print out of my account from that day 10/31/08 which said $1500 avail credit to use. Well they were idiots and so was the vet and suddenly since I could not pay them, my dog was held as ransom for payment. It took me 3 days of screaming before they finally gave me my dog back. CareCredit is still an issue to be resolved. I would never trust them or there website or there phone reps and supervisors. Worthless bunch of idiots. As for the vet, he lost all my respect when he could not see it was not my error. He was unreasonable and very uncaring. The care was substandard once they found out care credit declined it. They treated me like a criminal suddenly. I wrote them a check finally and got my dog back. They wouldn't discuss details of surgery with me, no aftercare instructions, no pain meds, not even the biopsy results that cost me $136. They charged me full bore on there kenneling and even for taking dog to potty. I felt that the receptionist should have confirmed the coverage as i asked her to do in the first place. They accept no responsibilty and carecredit is now claiming we can reapply for a new account. Not approved. Another glitch they can't explain. So after I got my dog back I put a stop payment on check. I hope the vet takes me to court. I don't want to rip anyone off but I felt they could work with me to settle the problem with carecredit. They are all unethical ruthless greedy and have no clue.

Care credit customer service reps give bad advise. dont care about the customer.

I applied & got approved but wanted an increase so i was told start a completely new application with my co signer. i started a fresh application and hit the submit button my accident. i immediately called to cancel the app. I was then advised to reapply again with another fresh application. So this three application on my credit. After i got declined for the last on, i wondered if it had anything to do with me having so many accounts with them. I spoke with several customer service reps and non of them could answer my questions. Come to find out, they never cancelled the first one. So im think that is a reason why i am not getting approved for the one with the cosigner.

Its frustrating, bc now my credit is affected. I got declined and i think their advising had something to do with it. Theyvarent professional at all, gave bad advice and dont care about my concerns all while advising me in a direction that is messing my credit up. im frustrated.

I applied to CareCredit in Jan07 to cover orthodontic work. In mid-February I received a phone call from the CareCredit GE Money Bank collections department, notifying me that my account was past due. I told the customer service representative that the account was brand new and couldn’t possibly be late. I had not used the account yet and I had not yet received a statement. She verified my address, etc. I continued to receive phone calls from CareCredit collections dept over the next few weeks. I told them I still hadn’t received a statement and asked if I could view the statement online. They said I was not allowed to create an online id to view my statement since the account was in default. I worried it wasn’t really them, but a phishing scam so I refused to pay via telephone.
Eventually, I received my first statement. It was dated March 3, 2007. The account was delinquent and overlimit (with fees). Furthermore, my interest rate went up from 11.9% to 28.990%. I tried resolving the issue via letters and phone calls, but had to give in and pay what they demanded for fear of reporting to a credit agency.
Finally, I paid the balance in full and demanded they close my account. A year later, I received a letter from GEMoneyBank stating THEY are choosing to close my account and have reported it! I'm furious! It was MY decision to close that account!

EVERYONE that is having unresolved problems with GEMB needs to file formal complaints with the
Federal Trade Commission AND Office Of Thrift Supervision

GEMB abuses its customers and its processes for billing and payments are broken - to non existent.

They need to be investigated by the US Government regulatory agencies and the only way to do that is to bombard these agencies with complaints.

FYI - they are also cutting everyone's credit limits to only $100.00. So a lot of dept stores will lose a lot of Christmas business this year because of GEMB.

CareCredit intrest fraud

I made applied for this card through my vet. He did not make me aware that the balance needed to be paid in 30 days. I have my payments made automatically though my online banking system. I have always paid this bill with more than the minimum amount desired on time. As a got the statment after a 1 total year of the first purchase I seen there was a finance charge of $387 for the year. I spoke to a representative Nancy who told me I had one year the pay the balance or I would receieve a finance charge for the total year. I complained and explained how I always paid more then desired and one time. Nancy then told me she would credit the finance charge if the bill was paid in full for $512.24. I immediately then gave her my bank information to pay the balance plus a additional $15 surcharge for paying over the phone. A week has passed and the money still has not been taken from my account, I called GE Money Bank/Carecredit to ask why I still have not seen the money taken from my account. The representative then told me 'You did not call here. All our calls are logged into a computer and you have not called here in the past few weeks'. I immediately asked for a manager. I explained again to this manager that I have called a week ago explained the problem with the finance charge then complained that I gave all my personal bank information to someone they claim I did not speak to. I insisted to speak to a different manager. The manager was also no help. she was very rude and hung up on me.

These are the most rude customer service people I've yet to request help from. They have a rudementary knowlege of their company and the operation of it's website. This website has inconsistancies such that one does not know if a payment has been made or not. The supervisory personnel are no more aware of the problem. In one instance I read to them what was on their website concerning my account and they all but accused me of lying.

I JUST signed up today for Care Credit and was given a copy of papers I signed, and the finance papers which I didn't sign. I went home and read them and found they were going to charge me 22% interest.
I tried to cancel immediately (within 12 hours) and I can't get a live person on the phone. The credit card number was not valid in their system.
I can't find a Fax number so I can notify them of my cancellation. Since I only have an income of $845.00 a month they should not have offered me a credit card for $6, 500.00.
My medical doctor reviewed the paperwork and tests required and said it was bogus. and if they were legitimate blood and other tests an insurance company would pay for it.
I am posting this in hopes of a quick resolution.

i fully agree. I completely paid my bill off in full on time and then they run my credit and see two credit cards with a higher than normal (whatever, they weren't even a fourth of the limit) and they write this big long letter that due to this they are cancelling my card. which would be fine with me but they smeared my credit in the meantime. my husband also has an account with them and at last bill which was months ago it said a few hundred left. then one day they stopped sending bills and closed his account same reason. but they wont tell him what is owed and they keep taking every month from our account. the bank won't stop payments because it is contractually sound until we get a letter from them stating we no longer owe. but we cant reach them and no bills get sent. ugh i am so ticked.

so I say you go and nail them hard.

CareCredit poor customer service

I disputed a payment back in Sept. for this company then I made a payment in Oct., their associate put in the wrong acct# and the payment was returned for invalid acct#, talking to 5 different associates and managers, i finally had some fees removed. But, they are don't work w/you at all and they don't care about you as a customer. When I made the payment in Oct. and it returned for invalid acct# they telling me i need to get a diff acct# to use for them or have my bank make the payments to them. I have always been a good customers of theirs and since this happened I can't make payments online due to their mistake. This company has really caused me alot of phone calls to them and to by bank. They don't care what happens to you, and they put you on payment restriction due to their error but want hold up to the mistakes that they make. I don't recommend this cc company at all, they are not worth a ###.

GEMB believes all of its customers are stupid! This was probably deliberate to increase fees and interest they can charge.

Violations of the Fair Credit Billing Act and Fair Credit Reporting Act. File formal complaints with the Federal Trade Commission and Office of Thrift Supervision. Its the only way to get GEMB to correct their errors.

They refuse to acknowledge - let alone correct the mistakes they make. And they will RIP YOU OFF every chance they get aswell as RUIN YOUR CREDIT!

Not processing payments correctly is one of the biggest complaint I have seen on the boards.

CareCredit harrassment/fraudulent fees/lies

I spoke to a Carecredit representative about overdue bills made by my daughter on a dental loan I co-signed. Carecredit was calling my home 4-5x a day everyday. I have very good credit and didn't want this account to reflect badly on my credit report.
An agreement was made between Carecredit and myself. They put me on their "hardship" accts. The agreement was $27 min payment for 9 months with no late fees or financial charges accruing. The agreement was made on Oct 2, 08. They accepted a payment of $50 on Oct 7. I rec. Nov, 08 bill and there is a late fee of $39 and finance charge of $65.47. In addition I have been rec. daily harrassing phone calls. Carecredit now claims the acct has 4 payments in arrears and want the amount of $420 immediately. When I spoke to their rep and made the agreement NOTHING was ever mentioned of arrears or that I would have to pay them up front. They are lying about their billing cycle and when they rec. my payment, which I have bank documentation to back up when they rec. my payment. They don't read emails or snail mail. All of the representive calls are outsourced to the middle east whom you can't understand. They are rude and nasty and talk over you in a loud voice. They broke their contract with me and the harrassment continues. I don't know where to go or whom write to make a complaint or to straighten this problem out. HELP!

CareCredit charges??

I paid ahead of schedule as instructed and not only paid off in time, but paid an extra$100 trying to pay within the time frame I was supposed to. I knew within a day I'd paid too much. Got a bill with balance $23.06 yet have a credit of $70 something now! I still do not understnad the finance charges! I have proof of payment dates. CareCredit employee could care less! Very rude! Now...I wait to see if they actually return my overpayment because as I looked up a website for CareCredit/GEMB, all I saw was a page of complaints against this company! SHAME ON CC!

GEMB violates the Fair Credit Billing Act - you have to report them to the government - or they will continue to ignore you

File complaints with the Federal Trade Commission and Office of Thrift Supervision.

You can find the Fair Credit Billing Act on the Federal Trade Commission website.

CareCredit terrible experience

I tried to make a payment online which was different than the monthly minimum payment...it did not go through b/c I did not turn off the auto pay feature, however, they could see that I attempted to pay...I called to request they defer the interest that accrued b/c of this mistake. They sent me to the "escalations dept". I spent over an hour on the phone and they were rude, mean and certainly not courteous...they would not waive the interest even though they could see what had happened...this is an awful company with no regard for customer service...I will never use their credit card again. They would not connect me to anyone to voice my complaint either...I tried calling more than once...there is no email contact either...shockingly terrible...never use them!

CareCredit refused a balance transfer without notification and started an interest rate at 22.98%

My dog died at a pet hospital. I used care credit to pay for his medical charges with care credit. They offered 0% for a short period. I arranged to have that balance transfered before the end of the 0% period. GEMB refused to accept the transfer and I was never informed. I checked the status just to make certain that my balance was zero and found that it was not only zero but I had accrued an additional $95.

This is what is wrong with America, avarice and deception!

CareCredit terrible experience

Care Credit does not consider triple payments each month as pre-payment and will ding you if you miss a monthly payment... even though you may be paid up several months ahead. Example: your monthly payment may be $67.00 and you pay each month $201.00. By logical reasoning, you're three months ahead, right? Wrong! don't skip the next months payment! They're wonderful people to deal with... Credit Care is a company sponsored by GE Money. My name is Frank and it isn't raining today. Good, I'm near 100 words... ok, ok, ok. ok.

Nasty call centre representatives. I wonder how they managed to hire such nasty ***. They kept billing me for f...ing late fees, despite my payments being larger than the min. requirement. The resps on the phone are both rude and arrogant. The worst customer service ever. I totally hated this darn company. I am going to complain them to BBB. I do not understand how they are allowed to deceive their customers so obliviously.

This company should be out of business. I googled it and encountered gazillion complaints about it. Ahh, I am so pissed after having talked to 3 nasty *** and having gone nowhere w/ those racist Texans.

I accidentally had my bill pay set on Pacific Standard Time and they are an Eastern Standard Time company. Therefore I was late paying my bill by a matter of 3 hrs. It was definitely my mistake but they were not at all understanding when I called, and were very robotic in their answers. They would not stray from their resolute answers, and even tried to upsell me on a protection package! I do not recommend dealing with his company, they do not treat you like a human being. Their lack of empathy and judgmental attitudes make me angry just thinking about it.

I tried to pay aggressively on my CareCredit last month, and their website deleted a "0" on my checking account. The company never telephoned or e-mailed me of the problem. They instead charged an additional $58.00. When I asked to speak with a supervisor I received without a doubt the rudest person I have encountered in customer service. "Dawn" would discuss nothing with me, and threatened to disconnect because I asked her name twice: "I already gave you my name at the beginning of the call" she tells me..."I am the highest person you can speak with on the phone."... I asked her for an address to complain and she again threatened to hang up on me..."I am going to disconnect."...Where is the phone courtesy of letting the customer hang up the phone first? Not to mention the outright customer abuse, financially and otherwise.

Does anybody remember the line from "The Rainmaker"? Well, GE Money has got the insurance / customer services runaround scam down.
I wired my final payment to them (over $9, 000) for my CareCredit account within the 4-day grace period to avoid exorbitant interest charges. They acknowledged receipt of that payment to my bank. They then proceeded to spend the next four months harassing me with phone calls, 4 - 5 times / day, and letters to my home a couple of times per week. They attempted to tack on late fees on top of the phantom interest charges. I am sure they were hoping that I would get tired of their harassment and just pay the money. No go Joe.
I called customer service four times and even had them send a letter in early January to confirm that I owed them no money. They did not want to do this and even aid they could not. I insisted that they do so, asking for a handwritten letter signed by the representative if she could not generate one through the system. I stayed on the phone until I was 100% assured it was sent. I received that letter on 1/6 and have it in my hand. Funny, I received a letter that they claimed at first that they could not generate.
The final straw occurred today when I received a call from a vulture-like collection group within GE Money (outsourced to India, BTW), where Is poke to an inept customer service representative and then her supervisor, named Calvin. He proceeded to call me a liar and, even though I read the letter to him, insisted that I send the letter to him via fax or mail even though it came from HIS company. I demanded an apology, which he did not give to me.
So, back I went to customer service and then again to the same vulturous collections group and finally got a rather terse, but helpful U.S. representative who claims to have cleared out the account. We shall see.
After more than 10 hours of work to get this cleared out, if it happens again or if there is a blemish on my credit score, they will be sued. Does anybody know if there is a class-action suit pending that I can join?
I have let all my health care providers know about their scam and at least a couple have stopped offering the service to their customers. Be warned...DO NOT use this service unless you have lots of time to spend correcting their mistakes or good legal representation on retainer.

CareCredit co-signer -

I am co-signer for my daughter-in-law through Care Credit. She had been set up for payments through the hardship program - and she was paying them - Care Credit dedcuted the $51.00 every single month for a year and then decided that she had not been paying the correct amount. So they dumped her into debt / collection - along with me being dumped. They say that she should have been paying $52.00 a month and she was paying $51.00 a month - (they set up the payment and they told her the amount was $51.00) now she is a year later and they with interest charges up the gazoo! Nobody will speak to me because I am the co-signer - and all they keep telling her is that they will straighten it out. In the meantime - I am in the process of applying for a equity loan - and all my bank wants from Care Credit is a letter stating that I am the Co-Signer - and they have refused to send it. They say that is not their policy and also because they have turned the debt over to the attorney's office. The attorney's office states they are not responsible for sending out letters they are responsible to collect the money. Well what am I supposed to do? I have filed a compalint with the Federal Trade Commission and I suggest that anybody who has any dealings with Care Credit - do the same. This is robbery and it has to be illegal -

I was totally thrown off just now when I got a "recent activity on your credit report" notification from BofA. It was the same: GEMB, 404FF03795, Sales Financing, etc.

I had forgotten that earlier this week I had tried to finance some dental work that I had done to spread the payments out over 12 months. Turns out, this "activity" on my report is Care Credit.

I have no dealings with Care Credit, so I can't say anything about how they do business... but the user story above sounds horrible.
