What drew me to the website was their fantastic price and free shipping. I went online to purchase a camcorder a few days ago. After checking out, I immediately received an email message from them stating that I needed to call them to confirm my purchase. I called them and gave my order number. Their employee was pleasant and nice... at first. After declining the purchase of additional batteries (he stated that the one that came with the camcorder lasts only 5 minutes), in-car chargers, and then warranties; he started getting irritated. Finally, he asked if I would like to, instead, purchase the American version of the camcorder. I asked him to repeat himself. He stated that the camcorder I was purchasing was the Japanese version with nothing in English. I said that their website did not explicitly state they were selling a PAL version or a Japanese version. He replied that it did not say we were getting an American version, which costs much more than the advertised price. I prefer not to deal with gimmicks, deception, and bait advertising; so, I asked their employee to cancel my order.

The same thing happened to me only I orded a Sony Cybershot. The great price and shipping drew me in. After I received a voicemail and email asking me to call and confirm my order, I figured the company had great customer service b/c they wanted to ensure their customer gets their order quickly.

You are given a number to call with and extension. The guy I talked to from the company was extremely rude. After confirming my mailing address he then offered me to buy the additional batteries and chargers. After I kindly declined he then said the camera I ordered is a Japanese version and to get the american version (which everything will be in english) will cost me an additional $80. I told him their website does not state anywhere that the camera was a Japanese version as I am looking at the website and description of the camera as we speak! He claimed that while I was placing the order on the website somewhere on there states that it is a Japanese version. I asked him WHERE on the website exactly b/c I do not see it! He said he was not familiar with the website. Well HELLO!?!?! I then asked to speak to someone in regards to the website and he told I would have to call the company directly b/c he works at a call center and deals with over 30 different companies! The he asked me, "Do you want it or not? If not, cancel the order." I told him to cancel the order cuz I wanted nothing to do with them.

I called my credit card company and advised them however I will have to keep a look out on my statements.

I wished I would of come across this site before I made the purchase. It seems they only want to get people's credit card info. :( Freaken scammers! I just wished someone would do something about companies like this one.

CameraAddict.com - Fraud and scams! Do not give out your credit card info to them. I just got burned and had to pay $16 to replace my credit card
