I placed an order for a digital camera with cameraddict.com on November 9th. They advertised "Availability: ship on order."

On November 11th, received an email asking me to call them so they "could proceed and process my order." I called and listened to a sales pitch trying to sell various assorted gadgets and peripherals for this camera. I repeated said, "No thank you, I only want what I ordered." with each offer of an add-on. Very annoying, but OK. I thought the price was good.

The next day, November 12th, I received an email informing me that my camera was on back order.

On November 22nd, I emailed customer service to inquire about my order status. No response.

On November 27th, I emailed customer service to inquire about my order status and told them this was my 2nd request.

On December 3rd, I called customer service and after a very lengthy wait, was told the camera would be shipped in 10-15 days.

While on hold, I email a 3rd request to customer service. They replied two days later, on December 5th, that the camera was on back order and it would be 4-6 weeks.

Each time I checked their website, the price continued to rise.

Today, I researched the camera, found it less expensive at Dell.com w/free shipping, cancelled the order with Cameraaddict.com and should receive the camera in 2-3 days!

Beware of www.cameraddict.com!!

I agree as I purchased a GPS and was called by the company and told I really needed their SD card for the particular system, I hesitated but finally gave in and bought it.Also I was told of an extended warranty which I refused. When I got the GPS I was shocked to see that my credit card had been charged for the warranty. I called right away to get this cancelled and to get a return authorization for the SD card and I was told that I DID ORDER THE WARRANTY OR THE MAN WOULD NOT HAVE CHARGED ME FOR IT!!! All the time the person kept saying he didn't want to argue with me, and that I need not be angry. In the end I found out that I couldn't return just part of the products as Camera Addict had sold me a package deal. So if I retuned the GPS OF $800 they would credit my credit card for like $650 due to the restocking charges. So I was stuck with the SD card (Which I did't need) and a warranty that I know I did not OK. People I got took!!! I'll never buy from Camera Addict again.
