First you order a camera that cameraaddict.com prices lower than others, then you get an email saying you have to "confirm" the order. When you call the number they either do not answer, you get v-mail or you finally do get a real person. They tell you that the camera you ordered is an "import" from China and to get the "American" versions costs more. If you do not agree they are rude, forcing you to cancel your order. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY.

I had the exact same experience with Camera Addict. First the "con firmer" tried to sell me a better battery than the one that comes with the camera and an memory card. Both at prices over double those available elsewhere. Then he told me that this is a Japanese version camera -- and the American version was $80 more. The same price that is available at Amazon.

This may have been the worst buying experience I have ever had. It made buying a car feel like an hour-long massage at a spa. I will be filing complaints with Better Business Bureau. They refused to cancel my order when I asked them to (after they informed me that the camera would only hold 20 photos without buying an $80 additional card and the battery would only last 20 minutes unless I purchased, saying that they were going to ship the order no matter what and that I could return it but would be forced to pay a $36 restocking fee. These people are crooks.

I ordered a GPS unit described on their site as ready to go right out of the box. The next day got an email saying I needed to confirm the order. Confirmer claimed I had to pay an extra 49.95 to get software to make the unit work. I had no problem cancelling the order. He claimed description on site was of retail unit but they were selling wholesale unit. False advertising--- bait and switch.

I had the same miserable expericence with camera addict. They are the most abhorrent company I have dealt with on the web ever!

I had the same experience. I wish I had the sense to google the company before I placed the order. I ordered the camera. Got the hard sell phone calls, and still no camera. Now I am worried about the security of my credit card with these creeps and am thinking of calling my credit card company to have it cancelled in case they mis-use it. Very bad company. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB for misleading advertising and deceptive practices. I also experienced this with PhotoDynasty.com. New breed of unscrupulous people out there. Crazy Eddie's of the internet age!

I had the same expirience! OMG WTH? First of all they put me on hold to god awful country music for like 20minutes, then they say the camera is in japanese, they didn't say that on the site, it was all in english. and the american one is 1200. and im like uh, what? Then they try to sell me a battery for like 250$ then im like uh no i wanna cancel my oder, and they said no problem, but it happened just now. So im waiting for something to go wrong. should of went with b and h, but i was a cheapo. You think i should worry about my credit card safety?

I felt compelled to share my (almost) online purchase story with you:

Dealer: Camera Addict

Website: http://www.cameraaddict.com/

Product attempting to purchase: http://www.cameraaddict.com/viewproduct.aspx?id=3710502

Non-affiliated review site: http://www.resellerratings.com/store/Camera_Addict

I ordered a Canon PowerShot G9 for $283 online and was emailed to contact them to complete my order.

The rep tried to sell me a battery & charger all of which were WAY OVER PRICED and should have been included, but not from this dealer. I declined stating I would use my accessories from my G7 knowing I could get them at a more reasonable price locally. The rep then proceeded to tell me this camera was a Japanese version and the display was in Japanese and would this be an issue? NO WHERE WAS THIS STATED IN THE AD. He then proceeded to tell me the American version was $175 more @ $459. I told him to put the order on hold. I then called the store acting like a new customer and spoke to sales; the rep told me there were 2 versions the Japanese version and the US version. The US version was $116 more at $399 ok you got me. I called the original number back and told him the sales rep I would take it for what the sales rep quoted me $399 he said no it was $459. I canceled the order and will be contacting the state of NY regarding “bait and switch” as well as Canon, BBB and any other Consumer Protection.

I've just had one of the worst online buying experiences dealing with CameraAddict.Com
I ordered a GPS unit listed, and got the infamous email asking me to call and confirm.
Someone then tries to sell me updated maps, warranty, etc. I refused. He got irritated, hung up,
and I got an email stating the item is no longer in stock. It suggested I cancel, so I did.

I've rarely lodged a complaint about any company, but this one is ridiculous. I can't believe
they are still in business. This is a major scandel waiting to happen. Huge Scam!
They should be renamed "CrackAddicts.com", because of their custom service.

PLEASE SHUT THEM DOWN!

This is an outrageous company. I ordered an item "overnight" - it never arrived. When I emailed them on the email address provided by the receipt the email was returned "no such address". I finally reached them on the phone. They were rude, tried to sell me another camera. When I said just send the camera I ordered they said they would. Then got an email saying it was out of stock. How is it they are in business?

SCAMMERS I ordered a Canon Xsi and then sent email asking you to call them to "confirm" order try and tell me I had to pay an extra $139 for a battery and charger that comes STANDARD from Canon as a free accessory. Also harassed hard for me to buy an unbrand slow sh1t SD card for 10 time what it is worth.
