California Family Fitness Customer service at rocklin facility

Hi,
My name is Christine Karmolinski and I went into the Rocklin facility on Sunset. I wanted to delete a child and add a child to my membership. He asked me a few questions. I mentioned I had a discount card from Brinker that i used. At the time I didn't realize that Brinker and Family fitness were no longer associated. I didn't even realize that i no longer got the discount. Which is not the fault of the gentlemen (Eric) that helped me. He said, well I don't find them in here and their is no discount. I was surprised and said, that's weird because i just saw them on the site, He said, welp its a new year with an attitude. I said, ok can you take a photo of my card, because last time this happened they couldn't find the information and then they did and I had to come back down and show them my card, He said, no we don't take this discount and you have to call and deal with your corporate. I said, i understand and I will, I actually wasn't even mad, just confused. I let him know I will and could he at least just take a photo or something so if they do i don't have to come down.. He said, nope. I said well can you at least add someone onto the account and then delete someone and he just kind of looked at me. By this point, i said, forget it. I left and went to the other rocklin location on Warren. which was 20 min further out of my way in order not to recieve the attitude he was giving me.

The Lady was very nice, she did what I wanted, let her know about the discount, she took a photo of the card and said, she doesn't see it but i could call her if I can figure things out and she would take care of me.

I am writing a review because it wasn't about the discount but about the attitude that Eric showed me. He was abrupt and not friendly nor helpful. almost like he was above me and not accommodating. It put a bad taste in my mouth with his attitude.

Thank you for listening, i have never had an experience like this at your facility and as you can see have been going for many years.

Christine

Desired outcome: Eric realize he should be more friendly and not rude

California Family Fitness Weight training equipment

I am requesting an adjustment on a pull-down machine. There are three of them and two of them have straps that are too long. I would like the straps to be shortened by six or seven inches. I have made the request to several people at the front counter and I'm not getting a satisfactory response. There is no way to resolve this issue. It is a reasonable request. The response seems to be that they are not willing to do it. I want to elevate my request and there are no options. No matter how hard I have tried to find any kind of contact information so that I can rout this request through a proper channel, it does not exist. California Family Fitness is not accommodating at all. I just want people to realize this before they decide to join.

Desired outcome: Provide Customer Care Contact information and make the adjustment to the equipment

California Family Fitness Service

I went to Family fitness with my son, and Manager Julian Beck Signed him Month to Month and charged me $154 for the first and last Months. My son went to Family fitness for 3 days and quit. I called the manager and told him to cancel the agreement, instead of that, he charged me on October 19, $69.99. I asked him for a refund at least the $69.99, but he didn't want to do it. So I payed for 3 days, $224.99.

California Family Fitness scamming from jose aranda

I had witness when I signed up for $1 trial in July 2019 for California Family Fitness. At that moment I did not have enough document which was my driver license but then Jose Aranda pushed this $1 trial into 1 year contract without my consent. This is completely A SCAM. I trusted him at that time not to take the picture of the form or get a copy of the form. I just left it there and thought I would talk to him to finish up the form for $1 trial. I'm a student and would not be able to afford that much for a gym membership. Jose said that he sent me the email which I never received as well as the package for the membership ID. I would like to have the proof the he emailed me. I will pay $300 for the termination and I never want to recommend California Family Fitness to anyone.

Lesson learned for a student: never leave the incomplete form to the sale because they would fill in whatever left and push it into the contract to benefits their commission.

California Family Fitness lying to customers and charging double cancellation last month fees

California Family Fitness lies to customers and does not properly process cancellations.

I needed to cancel my membership due to a car accident and they convinced me to put a freeze on it instead. Then they removed the freeze with no prior notice and charged me. I went in to cancel and was told by staff i needed to do it online, and that corporate would then process my refund. After never receiving the refund, I was told it was kept as my last months cancellation fee.

Then several months later I was called by them and they said I still owed a last month cancellation fee. When i said they already charges me for that fee, the insisted that I did not, and took no responsibility for removing the freeze without sending a notice that it would be removed.

Now they are sending me to collection due to a fee caused by their own incompetency, lack of integrity, fraudulent and unscrupulous business practices.

On other websites such as BBB there are even worse cases of their greedy unscrupulous practices. Google California family Fitness complaints and /or reviews!

California Family Fitness unprofessional

I was at the gym on Bond Rd on 7/23/2019 with my kids upstairs. My kids literally hated the childcare there so they didn't wanted to go stay at the childcare center this time and they stayed with me while I was on the treadmill. My kids told me that the childcare worker told them to not touch the toys. WTF! Isn't the toys are there for them to play?!

My boy wanted to try to walk on the treadmill just for a second though I know he's under age for the equipment. There go a lady just came by us in gym clothes just like a normal member. She asked me how old is my son in front of people working out next to us and I told her his age. She then said loudly that he's not supposed to be on equipment and need to be in daycare/childcare then I just answered ok...Then she said by the way I'm the Operation Manager here and my name is Kelly. I just said oh ok.

I'm making this complaint on you because of your unprofessional manner to valued member of California Family Fitness. You have no respect whatsoever as a manager and your title didn't not suit you at all. If you are considerate and professional about your work and members, you could have introduced yourself in a professional way instead of barging asking the age of my child. I felt you were not fair as there were some kids under the age of 12 downstairs using the equipments while you were on the treadmill upstairs burning your fat [censored]. I know your eyes were wide open and noticed those kids down there and you didn't even say anything them. You're discriminating and unfair!

If you as manager of this club wanted to control and make sure no kid is using equipment then you need to be fair and do it to everyone and not pick and choose.

I am canceling my family membership here because of your unprofessionalism and discrimination. I can use my money at another club.

California Family Fitness i'm finally on linkedin

The calfit at bond road, elk grove shower/bathrooms was closed for 3 months for remodeling. I finally went there yesterday, 01/03/18, to work out and afterward took a shower, only to find out that there was no drainage at the shower stall that I was using. The water was there stagnant and flowing outside to the floor. My feet was soaking all the time. I have to stop the water shower from running most of the time. But still the water was there no drainage at all - after 3 months of remodeling. In addition, I throw my bag and jacket inside the locker only to find out that lockers inside are full of dust.
I informed the the manager on both cases.

California Family Fitness harassing calls

A few months ago I went into my local (Rancho Cordova) California Family Fitness and began to sign up. I did not end up signing up and cancelled the payment. I at that point told the sales staff that I did not want to sign up at all and I did not want to be contacted anymore. Since then I am called at least twice a week by the customer service dept. and sometimes management asking me to come back and sign up or offering me a deal. I have spoken to multiple managers and supervisors but the sales calls would not stop. I have contacted their corporate office with this issue, but again, the calls don't stop. At this point it has become harassment. Their customer service dept. has crossed a line.

California Family Fitness worst zumba class ever

I've taken Zumba class from several instructors, and was excited to find one at the California Family Fitness Center on Sunrise Blvd at 5:30pm (most Zumba classes are in the morning, almost an impossibility for those of us that work during "normal business hours").

This Wednesday night class was led by Michele, and was well-attended. Right away a couple of red flags happened--she didn't introduce herself to the class (I found it on the fitness class whiteboard), and didn't ask if anyone was new to her class. The music began, and the first 15 minutes was to non-Latin music, and was strictly regular aerobic moves. I figured it was just a warm-up, and just let it slide. Then, Michele moved into the dance moves. Without first going into any of the dance steps, she quickly moved through a variety of songs, and repeated the sequences for only part of each song, which was really confusing. You would just be getting the hang of one sequence, and she'd begin a new one. Only a few of the songs were Latin, and she did just a few step of Samba, and a brief Meringue. A lot of the dance-steps were foxtrot, Charleston, and other styles--all fine--but not what I was expecting from a Zumba class. The tempo was extremely fast, and made it even harder to pick up the dance steps. I consider myself a decent dancer and fairly fast learner, and I was completely lost and frustrated. I spoke with several of the women in my corner of the aerobic room, and there were 3 newbies right around me. We were all having the same disappointing experience. Looking around the room, I only saw a small handful of women who seemed to be enjoying themselves (they were the ones who were "getting" the steps, and therefore having a good work-out. I finally got frustrated and when she went to change the music (halfway through the 1-hour class), I asked if she could show a few steps. She gave an annoying nod of her head, implying what an apparent hassle that was for her. She did a quick walk-through of around 8 new steps that we hadn't done in the first half of the class! After trying those for another 5 minutes (to more non-Latin music), I finally realized I would have a better work-out on the Elliptical trainer, and left the class. I have never given up on a class, and really don't think I was just "not getting it". If California Family Fitness wants to offer Zumba, they should ensure their instructors are trained to know the Latin dance steps, and perhaps be a little more realistic and courteous in their approach to attendees. A big boo-hiss to the instructor, who definitely needs to brush up on her people skills.

California Family Fitness - undue charge and sales folks not telling the truth

I joined this club in Folsom in December. The sales guy (Leigh) who registered me in the club waived the fee for my son, and he said that it was good for only 2 months, but he said, he will work with the club manager to get the waiver extended. I was happy on the offer given to me, and I got all the club cards from him on the day, and everything was fine...

California Family Fitness undue charge

I called the gym to cancel membership, and was told I had to come in to cancel. Before I got into the club 4 days later, my credit card was tagged for a month's charge. I went into the club, canceled membership, and said I wanted a refund, and was told I had to call Customer Service. I called and spoke to a fellow and was told I had to give the club a 30 day notice of cancellation, so "no" the monthly charge would not be refunded as per my request. I asked to speak to the manager and still await a call back. At the time I signed up, I was told I could quit membership at any time, that it was month to month, and no mention what so ever there was this 30 day notice clause.

California Family Fitness overcharges

When I joined this club five years ago they told me my cost per month would automatically go down when I turned 62. I am now 61. I recently found out the cost should have gone down when I turned 60 but the company will not refund the overbilling. Their contracts do not contain any rate schedule and their people are not trained or simply tell customers anything.

The childcare has now decided that I can't go behind the counter to get my child when I
Drop him off or pick him up, this is not only suspicious but truly a violation. This is MY CHILD that you are watching, and a baby at that. What are you hiding that we are now not allowed to see? Or who are you hiding that is watching our child?

Couldn't have been a worse experience with lack of contract violation. The company is supposed to cancel after a certain amount of days, and promised to do so. Yet, here I am, months later still being billed. I suppose they want a legal action against them and their illegals business practices, due to violation of contractual agreement.
