Burlington Coat Factory Direct customer service / no return

I purchased a coat from Burlington coat factory less than a month ago. I went to return yesterday and the female at the counter looked at the tag which was with the coat but not attached and said that she can't return it and only give me store credit. As the coat was for 150 dollars. I said I can attach the tag and return it again, to which she said ok. I went backt o them today to return the coat and this time there was another person. She looked at the coat and my receipt (which had a cancelled sentence from yesterday saying no tag attached). So she called the supervisor. She looked ta the coat and said this is not our tag. I was shocked to hear that. She simply accused me. I told her that it is the same tag as was originally with the coat. She mentioned that their tags look different and she got another coat with a different tag and showed me that. She also mentioned that no attandent can ever say that you can come back with the tag. She asked me why did not I spoke to the supervisor yesterday. I mentioned that I told the person yesterday if she can speak to her supervisor and let me know, to which she said it is the store policy so she can't do anything. This rep (tity) accused me again saying now i am chnaging my story. And she kept of saying that this is not our tag and I am changing my story. I felt extremely bad as she would not let me finish and kept accusing me of anything I will speak. Finally she said give me your visa card as I don't want to deal with you. I tried to convince her that it is their tag. I am sure one simple thing like scanning the tag would have simply resolved ths issue- but she did not. She was loud and very insulting. She said you could not return it yesterday and you obviously know that some other person will be there today so you are trying it on me. I said I came back not at all knowing that I will have a different person. Then she said I dont want to deal with you, give me your visa card. I took out my card and I said what a customer service. She said now you cursed me. i am not doing anything for you. She threw the bag at me and said I will not do anything for you as you cursed me. I was left zapped. She did not help me at all. The other women standing at the counter gave me a card with a number to call- which I called and it was closed for the day. Hence I came back again today without returning the coat. It was the worst ever customer service experience I had. For sure I will never buy again from them, nor I will recommend any of friends to buy from there- but the people who have there are not just extremely bad to the customers but abusive too. The tag attached to the coat is their own which they could not even recognise. Very bad! And they way their rep tity behaved- even worst.

dont pull the tags off until it is tried on. buy the right thing the first time and there will be no issues.

So first of all i like to talk about the dating we have there at Burlington Coat factory in Mundelein, IL. I didn't know that its okay for people whom are managers to date there staff their employees. They show favoritism to there men only. You can work as hard as you like but you never get an promotion if your an lady working there. they pick on you always & say nothing but negatives things to say to you. If it isn't you color that keeps you from getting head than its because your an lady. It plain and simple BAD management is there and Corporate does nothing to help there employees. You can complain over an thousand times and they do nothing. They talk about code of ethics respecting each other... why do it if the Store Manager slanders you every chance he gets. Really why work for an company that doesn't values its employees or workers they have... They would rather hire outside the store than promoting within. WOW I don't what to do about this problem we have in Mundelein, IL. Please help...

Burlington Coat Factory Direct bad quality product!

I purchased A pair of mixmatched Shoes, I thought they were size 10. only to find out when 2wks. later when I was about to put the shoes on, one was a 9 and one was a 10, I realized I did not have my receipt, I knew I was going to have a problem with cash, but not exchange, well I did, the manager told the cashier, to let me get another pair, only to be stopped by the shoe manager, telling the manager, they would take a lost,because, they did not have that shoe in the store, she implied, it was not their shoe, or did I get it there, I said yes, but to no avail, I was turned down, the shoe had the price tag on the bottom, the way they do their shoes, the number and all, I just did not have my receipt, mind you I was not asking for money, I just wanted another pair of shoes for the same price, what was I to do with mix matched shoes, I thought that both shoes was the same size. I turned this matter over to the BBB.

Burlington Coat Factory Direct scam and cheating!

Store # [protected] on 11/26/07

I’d like to speak to someone in regards to a return. On 11/26/07 I bought 3 coats. Last weekend when I went to put my leather one on I realized that was damaged close to the zipper in the front, and obviously sad to realize that last minute I headed to the store the exchange it for another one. However, when I got there with my receipt I was told that they could not help me because it wasn’t a manufacture defect. When I tried to explain to the manager that I realized that but that I didn’t notice that before I bought it she replied before I finished and in a very unprofessional and rude way, “Mam, you sure would have seen that” insinuating that I made that cut on my brand new jacket. Not only that but while I was telling her that I felt that was not fair at all she started to walk away and that was all. There were at least 4 other people in the customer service area who were around and not one person gave me a final “I’m sorry mam, it’s just store policy” or anything like that. They were very unprofessional and rude and I do NOT feel like I was treated the way I should have been.
I have been buying my coats and my family’s coats at your store for as long as I can remember and I have never been as unsatisfied as I am today. I’m sorry to say that I will never shop there unless I get this situation fixed. I would like to be contacted in regards to this matter as soon as possible.

Company uses false investigations to terminate corporate employees and then does not grant vacation pay and alters final timesheets of employees.

I recently went o a Burlington Coat Factory, and wanted to purchase these jeans. The store had these jeans on the clearance rack with a tag on them for twenty dollar. When i got to the register the cashier told me that this is the wrong price. This wansn't a tag that could have been easily taken off and put back on, they had tags that you would have to tear off and switch, which I know for a fact could not be done. But inspite of all that she still thought that I was trying to switch tags, which they found out was not the case, one of their employees had tagged it wrong. They looked it up, but I was the last pair in the store, so they did a little more digging and found out that the actual price was a lot more. I was very disappointed, byt the way the cashier treated me, likle i was a theif. It was also poor customer service to me, see as they should have let me purchase the jeans at that price, because it was their fault not mine that the price was wrong. If you go to other stores, if they have something marked wrong, and they know that it's wrong, they would let you have it at that price. Not this Burlington, they don't care abou their customers, and I hope it closes. Without the customers and their money, they would have no business. If I wanted to steal soemhing, i wouldn't want it from there, because they don' have a large selection, and most of the clohes that they do have on sale are no brand name, and don' thave qualtiy materials. Put it like this I would steal some clothes from Walmart, before i steal from them, an I don't think i'll will ever shop at this store again located at 95 th and Hilcrest, in Kansas City Missouri. I've spent money theri several ime, but not anymore.

Burlington Coat Factory Direct unfair return policy!

My wife and I purchased a ceramic bowl a few weeks ago. We notived that it began sloughing off it's color and figured it was defective. I tried to return it to Burlington and was told I would get a gift card because the item had no price tag. I had a receipt. I took off the price tag figuring we would be keeping the item. I had to accept the gift card for the return or keep a defective item. I took the card. Your policy on returns is unfair for those items that turn out to be defective. You need to have a different policy on items that turn out to be defective. This was a one of a kind item so exchange was not an option.

I had a very bad experience at Burlington Coat Factory (Greensboro) for return. I was treated with no respect. The lady in customer service and the Manager both treated me very disrespectful way.

I bought a boaster car seat from Burlington Coat Factory. Since this was my 1st time purchase in Burlington Coat Factory, at cashier I asked her the return policy. She told me that I can return it for a full credit

- If I don’t use it
- have original packing
- The receipt
- And returning in 30 days of purchase

The booster car seat I bought didn’t work well for my kid. It looked like may be after a year he will be ready for a booster car seat so, I decided to return it. I went to Burlington Coat Factory (Greensboro) to return the car seat. The car seat was new still in plastic, in box and I had my receipt and I was returning with in 30 day period. But still she refused to refund my money back. Saying why did I opened the box and they don’t take it back if the box is open. I don’t understand if you don’t open the box and looked at the seat how you will know that it will work for your kid or not. She refused to take it back and told me that they don’t accept any return on Bady items that include high chair, car seat... and its Burlington Coat Factory policy. I asked her to show me the policy in writing. No were they have that policy in writing. I was really upset because when I asked them about the return policy they didn’t tell me about this new policy of no return if box is open. Definitely I would have not bought that booster car seat if I would have known about this policy. The way customer service lady and Manager were treating me I felt so bad as if I got this item for free and I am trying to make money on it now. They were like making faces and talking very rudely. I will never buy anything from Burlington Coat Factory never in my life. It seems like their Customer Service and Manager makes store policies depending upon situation. Will never never never…. Shop in Burlington Coat Factory in my life.
