I have never in my life met a more insane, mentally unstable, and horrible person. Shes unprofessional and treats her employees like garbage and her customers like criminals. She actually told an employee to watch a customer because he might have a gun, and that was within his earshot. She practices dishonest business by lying to employees about pay and more.

She sucks at her job and should really let someone else run her store for her. She is not made for this business and due to the 1000s of complaints about her it's obvious she has a husband that pays for all of it to stay in business, the store is constantly dead. The only good reviews were from the other store when she wasnt there. I highly recommend to not work there or shop there, there are better people and businesses to support.

I totally agree that this place is not worth your time or money! I knew the girl that used to work there who was dropped from the schedule without any explanation. When someone actually says 'they are too rich to care' what people think of them...it's probably time for them to retire. They talk about disgruntled ex-employees like they were bad apples but the truth is that they are cruel to the people that work for them. They don't train properly. There are grown women working there that act like junior high school bullies. Even the owner acts like a bully to new people. I happen to know that they have a huge turnover rate for a reason! I also know for a fact that the owner Diane went on and posted the good reviews that they have to try to counter the bad reviews that they are actually getting from past employees and customers alike. I wouldn't shop there even if someone handed me a hundred bucks and said, "here go to the Burlap Bag" and buy something. I would rather not give any type of support to this business because they truly do not care about their employees and are extremely rude to their customers. They have gone through so many people, they make McD's look bad! Perhaps if they treated people like actual human beings...why don't they see that the common denominator is NOT all of these employees (and there are a TON of them)...but rather themselves, because they treat people like Pigs Poop. Don't support business owners who don't care about their community, their employees and their business ethics.

This place is horrible! The people who work there are so pushy! I am a huge supporter of small business but this place needs a reality check. I will never support the Burlap Bag because of the way we were treated there. I believe small business owners should lead by example and create an environment that customers and employees can feel comfortable in. The Burlap Bag is the complete opposite of that theory. The owner is moody and horrible to her employees, the employees are snappy and cruel to each other and the customers are being pushed around and made to feel like they are not "allowed the privilege" of viewing the merchandise without buying something. I will continue to support local business but will NOT be supporting a business that operates in this manner.

After working at the Burlap Bag for 5 weeks, I was removed from the schedule with no explanation. I am an honest and hard worker and did nothing to warrant such treatment. Apparently I am by no means the first in what seems to be a long history of employee mistreatment, as reflected by their high turnover rate. They seem to be experts at riding the loopholes of Colorado Labor laws: When I asked what the reason was for being removed from the schedule, the owner Diane Wilcox weirdly repeated over and over again "I have no hours for you" until I had no choice but to leave the building. When I requested a statement regarding my status of employment from her so that I can possibly get some sort of financial assistance for the month of May, she refused. When I asked her if she realizes how she affects peoples' lives when she treats them this way, her reply was as follows: "When you have been a business owner for over 20 years and are as wealthy as me, then we will have a conversation." I highly suggest that no one work for or support this already "wealthy" business owner who has traded in her conscience for financial gain.
