Budget Van Lines Service & being lied to

I thought I was connecting with Budget , who my Company, Coldwell Banker Realty/NRT recommends on their Affiliate list as discount for Clients, etc. They are only Brokers who give you price under other name like (Long Haul Long Distance) & you pay them 1/3 of price. Then when your ready to move they try game that they under estimated cubic ft & want more money before they turn customer over to U S Intrastate LLC who shows up to pick up your furniture. They say there’s more cubic ft & try renegotiate bid you previously agreed on. It’s nightmare that won’t end cause if you don’t pay extra they don’t take all belongings & don’t box anything you agreed on. Then you wait for over month for delivery in your new state/home cause they’re mad you didn’t pay them extra. A real scam to senior citizens.

Desired outcome: Attorney General in states needs to investigate scams like these especially against senior citizens.

Budget Van Lines Incomplete information prior to deposit

I spoke with Samantha originally. Stated I had a newborn and we were moving from NY to VA. We went through the self service or full service options. I asked the dimensions of the self service trailer. She stayed 28’. I told her the original drop off was an apartment complex and that it’s in the back in a big parking lot. She said no problem, only 28’ 4-5 parking spaces needed. I explained the second location was a house with a slanted driveway. She said no problem as long as it was paved or on gravel. I would have three days at each location to load and unload. I read the contract, didn’t say anything about the trailer being 4 feet off the ground or needing a 12’ ramp. I wouldn’t have agreed, I knew the driveway at our destination couldn’t accommodate that.

A week later Nancy calls, tells me they can’t drop off at the destination because there’s not enough room. I would have to agree to getting my items across town at a terminal. Inconvenienced, but we’re a week from the move. She sends me an email that then stated I need a written letter from the original destinations - apartment complex’s manager stating I have permission to leave a 45-50 foot trailer overnight. I no longer had three days to load and unload. It would be dropped of Thursday and picked up Friday. The apartment complex manager agreed to the original 28’ that we were told, not the 45-50’. That’s half a parking lot. Nancy then stated they could drop off at a terminal 20 minutes away. Which means I would have to again, rent another uhaul and load and unload my items AGAIN. We’re now up to 3 different trucks and moving my items 4 times… with a newborn.

I called and asked for a refund. I was told no and that upper management would be contacted when I got angry. The phone ‘disconnected’ miraculously. I called back and got Al. He said they are not required to tell the customers the about the 12’ ramp or the 4’ off the ground. He stated he would send it to his superiors for review. 10 minutes later he calls back and tells me they decided no, they don’t need to tell us everything and that they’re not refunding my deposit. At no point was I told the trucking company it early reviewed the locations and determined if they could or couldn’t deliver. That should be done prior to someone spending their money maybe. I was never informed of the 12’ ramp. I was never informed the trailer was 4’ off the ground. I was also never told I needed a written statement from the apartment complex. Had I been informed properly, I wouldn’t have chosen this company. It wasn’t in line with my needs.

Desired outcome: $250 deposit refunded

Budget Van Lines Sold my number and email and I am being spammed all day

I signed up to get a quote which they claimed would come into my email. I never got a quote. Instead, they have sold my number and I am getting endless phone calls from moving companies. I told Budget Van Lines to take my name out of the database and to please not sell it to anyone else. The C.S. Rep said he would. He did not. I have looked at reviews from other people and this is a recurring issue. This company needs to be shut down for harassment and misleading information.

Desired outcome: Please make this company stop harassing people.

Budget Van Lines cross country moving

Dishonest, do not use! They charge you for a falsified measurement of linear feet used and hold your belongings hostage until you pay. They use Estes Sure Move, and claim the truck is 28 foot. They charge by how much is left after you load your belongings, subtracting from 28 feet. But Estes Sure Move themselves admits the trucks are only about 27 feet (which I have a recording to prove). They forced me to pay more to get my belongings and then when the truck arrived and I took photos in front of the driver as proof and sent them in, they refused to do anything. They said I "waived my right" to refute by paying the extra to get my belongings back. My case was moved up to the manager (Dolores McBride), who refused to help. They should be investigated and put out of business for their corruption! If there are others out there that have resolved this, please let me know. I would like to do a class action against them, get our money back, and teach them to be honest moving forward.

If anyone else suffers fraud at the hands of Budget Van Lines or other fraudulent movers or brokers, here's where you can file a complaint with the department of transportation, fmcsa

As well as with BBB. Just click the BBB link on their website and file the complaint.

You can also just google, "budget van lines reviews" and see tons of bad things about them and add more negative reviews. I wish I had before I hired them and got scammed! But I'm putting in a dispute with the bank charge, so hopefully I'll get the fraudulent charge reversed. An hopefully the DOT does something about their deceptive business practices and outright fraud!

If you've been scammed by them, take action! Make sure the pain they feel is larger than the money they scammed from you.

Budget Van Lines scout moving company

I had Scout movers move my belongings from Lynnwood, WA to Brooklyn Park, MN this year. The original delivery date was Dec. 20th 2018. On December 14th I changed the delivery date with Scout to January 9th, 2019. On Dec. 20th I received a phone call from the driver that he was in Montana and would be delivering our thing on Dec 22nd. I contacted the office at Scout and Heidi helped me and tried to say the truck was loaded the week before the 20th, which was not true as the driver advised me that on Dec. 19th the truck was loaded . Scout advised they could put our things in a storage unit here in Minnesota but we would have to pay the storage fee. I was not happy with that as we changed the delivery date and Scout made an error and loaded our things and the driver put our belongings in storage. I told Scout I should not have to pay the storage as it was their error. The office manager said Merry Christmas and would pay the storage fee till Jan 9th. I am pretty upset as I paid for a delivery of my belongings to my home, not to a storage unit where now I have to move them myself or hire another company. I Am handicapped and this is the reason I needed door to door service. I talked to Budget (Star) and she called Scout also to see if they would give me a discount since I am not receiving the services I paid for. They declined and said they would only pay the storage fee. This is not acceptable, as I stated I am handicapped and paid for a service that is not being provided. I will have to go to the Better Business Bureau and all of my social media outlets to voice my stituation with this matter and tell people how this company treats their customers (handicapped at that). This needs to be corrected, all's I asked was for them to take 200.00 off my last payment to them to pick up my things. Since I started the move with your company I feel it is only right that you reach out to Scout and correct this ASAP.

Thank you,

Budget Van Lines Contracting with garrett's moving and storage

Terrible, Terrible, Terrible - would give zero stars if I could. Avoid like the bubonic plague. I went through Budget moving (big mistake) and they contracted with Garrett's (bigger mistake). They were a day late picking up even though I had an agreement with Budget for a firm P/U date, they called 45 min before they arrived instead of the day or two like I was told, and they messed up the paperwork. Delivery was delayed 3 days due to a broken down truck; I guess they are a one truck operation operating out of a trailer park (no surprise), they finally showed up, made me pay before they would unload and then became rude and argumentative when I told them they were 3 boxes short (including a wardrobe box with all my clothes). Anyway, they said call Garrett and took off; well trying to get Garrett on the phone -- good luck, trying to get an answer out of him --- super good luck. In any case, here we are a month later and no word, no call (again, no surprise). When I call about my missing boxes (about 6, 7 times now), they keep saying, "oh, I have to check with the warehouse" Really? how hard is that? I did fill out a claim form (mailed, because they couldn't email because of the carbon paper they use) and they said it would take 90 days to resolve. Needless to say, not holding my breath. Overall, a horrible experience - they all talk customer service but don't DO customer service, very unprofessional, a take the money and run operation. I would rather take a hammer and break all the bones in my hand than ever deal again with Garrett's moving and storage

Budget Van Lines Moving of personal belongings and delivery

Our Unbelievable, Expensive moving Nite-Mare. We hired Budget Vanlines, they in turn hired Eli Trucking Corp. And Eli Trucking hired a person from New Jersey named Roni. Because of the many times our belongings were load and unloaded from one to who knows how many times, our things were damaged or lost. Eli Trucking referred us to Anthem Claim Management in Arizona to submit a claim for the damages and ackledging that we have nine (9) months to submit our claim. We prepared a complete submittal package containing description of the items damaged with pictures. After several weeks, we received their response letter. Their Unbelievable response was, "papers were signed acknowledging received in good condition, nothing lost or damaged. Can anyone tell me how many items are damaged when their truck driver Roni is insisting to his helpers to unload the truck, because he needed to leave. I don' believe that there's anyone on this world/planet that can see through box's and see if there's any damages to their contents! Another Unbelievable issue is the letter from Anthem has "Eli Trucking Corp. letter head and at the bottom of this letter, there's No Signature. But has "Anthem Claim Management, LLC for Eli Trucking"! Now, is there something WRONG with picture? Can one assume that they're the same company and COVERING EACH OTHER? I called Anthem several times to speak to their so-call adjuster. He's never available and never returns your calls. He's always out of the office and has no direct phone number! But, he does have a person that takes messages. INFORM EVERYONE TO AVOID USING THESE "WORTHLESS ORGANIZATIONS"...

Budget Van Lines Deceit

MOVER BEWARE! EXTREMELY dissatisfied. DON'T use Budget! We regret having used Budget Van Lines, will never use them again, will not refer them and have made sure those we know (particularly those moving) are aware of our horrific experience with Budget. We knew Budget was a booking company. We based our decision to contract with them based on the information provided us. Had we received the services promised and our move had been handled as contracted (in compliance with laws and regulations), we would have felt we paid an acceptable amount. However, that wasn't the case! Our bad experience started from the second Budget's Representative answered our initial telephone call, everything he told us was lies. This is not just 'our' side of the events. Budget records every call, after listening to our conversations, this Representative was given time off without pay, confirming Budget knew we were lied to from the start. There were many issues between our first phone call until delivery, all compounded by the 9 months following. Some of the biggest issues/lies: 1) A compartmentalized moving semi would pick up our belongings and Harley Davidson, meaning our possessions would be separated from the next customer's belongings. We, also, paid for an additional compartment for the Harley. 2) The moving Company would arrive on a specific day with an am or pm arrival time, calling an hour before arriving. 3) We would be provided weight slips before and after our possessions were loaded, to compare the estimated weight we paid for and the actual weight of our possessions, resulting in a credit or debit. Budget contracted Platinum Van Lines for our move; we had no say in who they chose. The driver arrived 10 hours late, with a single compartment Enterprise Leasing truck with no ramp; and never called in advance. We initiated all the calls with Budget, Platinum and the driver for those 10 hours, being told lie after lie about where they were, why they were late, when they would arrive. Because it was a single compartment truck, our Harley had to be protected by our mattresses, which were tied around it (staining and ripping the mattresses). Though Budget was well aware of the Harley being shipped and the need for a ramp to drive it onto the expected semi, there was only a back lift on the truck. The difficulty of loading it rest on my boyfriend, with the 2 movers hanging onto him and the Harley, so neither fell off! No weight slips were provided at the time of pickup or delivery. Yet, the driver still insisted we owed $400 at the time of delivery, even though he had no weight slips to prove we were over the weight we paid for in advance. There was no other reason to charge us. However, you pay or you don't get your possessions. At the time of pick up, we signed numerous documents, including insurance forms. Yet, when we attempted to apply for reimbursement on the our damaged items and a lost container, we were informed by 2 separate insurance carriers that they had dropped Platinum. Platinum Van Lines had no insurance while transporting our belongings! Not providing weight slips and not carrying insurance is a violation of the DOT/FMCSA, both were notified in writing of the violations, along with the AMSA. Just 24 hours after pick up, Budget called us and acknowledged all the lies told us initially. After delivery, Budget spent 9 months stringing us along and putting us through our paces, completing forms, answering emails and forwarding numerous pictures, acting like they were going to help. We believed they were going to step up and do the right thing. Then, 9 months later, it was "so sad, " "too bad!" We did everything we could before and after the delivery to assure a smooth move and follow up for compensation. We acted in good faith for 9 months, doing everything asked of us. In the end, Budget offered us $150, their booking fee, which was supposed to justify our mistreatment and cover the cost for the damage to our furniture (which we didn't claim) and $600+ of missing items. But there was a 'catch.' In order to receive the $150, we first had to sign legal documents, agreeing to never discuss this transaction or speak negatively of Budget in any public forum. We refused. Platinum went out of business; we had no recourse with them. We contracted with Budget; they contracted with Platinum. It was Budget's responsibility to make sure they used a reputable firm that abided by the laws and regulations. I wish I had enough time and energy to write everything we went through. Just writing this has made me angry, again! SO, pass the word and stay clear of Budget Van Lines or you'll be the next person writing on Yelp to warn others!

Budget Van Lines Poor Service and Damaged Household Goods

I arranged an order with Juanita Evans with Budget Van Lines on 15 Nov 2014 to move my son's household goods from Texas to Idaho. My son works for the US Wildlife and Fisheries at the Dworshak Fisheries Complex in Ahsahka, ID.
The booking fee was $218.00. We were told that the carrier (Oasis) would arrive between 21-23 Nov 2014 and notify my son at least 24 hours in advance. Oasis didn't arrive until late on 24 Nov 2014. They never called 24 hours in advance. My son had to call them to find they were not arriving until the 24th. When they picked up my son's household goods on 24 Dec 2014 the carrier agreed that they would arrive in 7-10 working days despite the standard 3-21 days given on the agreement. The 7-10 working days would have made the delivery date 9 Dec 2014. I paid the carrier total of $2240.68 and they said there would be no further charges.
When my son arrived at the original destination of Lenore, ID, he found out that it was a con. It was a house that wasn't finished, so my son had to find another house in Lewiston, ID. We notified Buget Van Lines on 3 Dec 2014 of the change of destination and they said they would notify the carrier. The carrier then called approximately 12 Dec and said their truck broke down and would not be able to get there until 17 Dec. The carrier never showed up on 17 Dec, but called and said they would arrive at 9:30 PM on 19 Dec. On 19 Dec at 9:30 PM the carrier called my son and said they had arrived at the original address of Lenore, ID and had never been notified by Budget Van Lines of the change in address.
The carrier finally arrive at my son's home in Lewiston, ID on 20 Dec 2014 and said they wouldn't unload my son's household goods until he paid an additional fee of $152.00 for the change of address. When my son called and told me this, I immediately called Budget Van Lines Customer Service and they said because the access was difficult to access. This was a lie, as my wife and I were just out in Lewiston, ID on 11-16 Dec to help our son set up his house, which I thought would have furniture by then. The house 730 29th St. N., Lewiston, ID is two block of highway 12 on a normal residential street.
Budget hen called the carrier and said the driver was charging for the additional mileage, but they couldn't reach him because a phone reception. This was also a lie as I've been on my cell phone with my son numerous times on 20 Dec and I'm calling from my other son's house in Minot, ND.
They finally agreed to offload my son's household goods.
The original agreement was to cover my son's mattress and box-spring with plastic and box them up. They only wrapped a couple of blankets around them, but I was still charged $40 for packing materials. My son took pictures of all his furniture. They damaged an end table, coffee table, dining table, chest of drawers, and there was a water stain on the mattress. My wife and I just bought all this furniture brand new from a furniture store in Lubbock, TX in Mar 2014. I furniture damaged cost approximately $1000.
I served in both the US Air Force and US Navy for over 20 years, retiring as a Naval Officer. My family was moved 12 times all across the US and even from the Philippines and never had any problems with the carriers moving my household goods.
Additionally, I'm a disabled veteran and have worked for the Federal government for approximately 11 years. I'm currently a senior executive with the Department of Defense. For this reason I'm also filing a memo of record with the DoD Office of General Counsel to warn any DoD or military personnel not to do business with Budget Van Lines.
Additionally, after the supervisor at Budget Van Lines said they would waive the additional fee, my son called and said they still charged him an addition $100. The carrier, Oasis, said the Budget Supervisor said to charge the fee and that she had just told me that it would waived to appease me. In other words the Budget Van Lines supervisor, Tanya, LIED TO ME.

Consumer's Desired Resolution:
I want at minimum of $1000.00 from the carrier Oasis to replace my son's damaged furniture and a refund of the $218.00 booking fee from Budget Van Lines for their incompetence and the stress it has put my family through.

Budget Van Lines Rip Off

Horrible company! They messed up the estimate, and fail to take ownership. Quoted 2800 but turned into 4900. Customer service just keeps giving us the run around. Never get to talk to the same person twice. Each time I have to explain the story, and they keep saying someone has been assigned to our account... No one ever calls us back. In a social media world, I'm not sure how a company like this will survive. Future customers please be aware ... Just because the estimated price seem great, doesn't mean that is what you will pay.

Budget Van Lines Bait and Switch

I contracted with Budget Van Lines on 5/12/12 to move my Grandmother's Furniture. The salesperson led me to believe that they were the moving company. After letting my other prospects go and feeling comfortable with Budget, I find out that they are a broker. They brokered me to All State Relocation Service, who tried everything they could to inflate my charge by double billing for items on my originally submitted list and charging for extra boxes I paid for through Budget. I was promised 2 -14 days delivery. Then was told that because the mileage (inflated) was 1509miles it would be 21 days. No one could tell me where my furniture was at any point. It has now been 24days and All State is not answering their phone for Budget. No one is telling me where, when nor how another issue (left two boxes behind) will be resolved. I called the police and they instructed me to file a Civil Complaint against Budget, then let Budget handle All State Relocation Services. We have always used United Van Lines and never had this issue before.

Budget Van Lines SCAM

Getting F!@#$^ by Budget Van Lines-
They got me with a sales pitch saying, "if you sign today we'll give you the first month of storage at no charge and $140.00 for each additional month until you are ready for the items to be delivered". Forty five minutes after a company, that I did not hire, in a clandestine and unmarked white truck picked up my belongings, I received an unconforting phone call. "You owe me $450.00 for sotorage or you will never see your items again", he said. At this point I am thinking, really?, so I hung up the phone on him and did what anyone else would do, call the company that I hired to move my household goods, Budget Van Lines. But I got the "we are not a moving company, we are a moving brokerage". People, are you kidding me?. So at this point I refuse to pay the unforseen $450.00 to 67TH AVENUE LOGISTICS INC out of Denver CO, the moving company, and am putting it all on Budget Van Lines. It's been less than 24Hrs since they picked up my household goods and am pressuring BVL's to fulfill their offer. How do you offer a price and then change it after the items have been picked up?
Wish me luck, and if I never see my belongings again we all should get together and take these M#$*$% F#$&@!% down.

Budget Van Lines is a scam. Just google "Budget Van Lines Fraud" to find pages and pages of absolute horror stories on these guys (and I am writing from experience because they've done it to us, too.) You contact them, they have someone else contact you back (in our case it was Green Pacific Van Lines) who gives you one estimate and wants a deposit. Then once they pick up your stuff and have it in their possession, the nightmare begins.

First, they will not deliver your items for up to 30 days--which has actually turned into 60 in our case, as once the initial 30 passed with no call and no delivery, we called and were told that we had to request our items for the 30 day timeframe to begin ( as of this writing, we still do not actually have our belongings, though the driver is supposed to show up this morning--he was originally supposed to show up two days ago.)

We were contacted two days ago via email to let us know the driver was on the way, and that our new total (originally just under $800) was now close to $2500 because they had weighed our items and found them heavier than expected (which I do not believe--we were moving a small 10x10 storage unit filled with childrens toys, womens clothing, and a few boxes of DVD's and books. No beds. No couches or entertainment systems. No large furniture at all.)

The email was from yet another company--or at least another name. In fact, between the heading, body and bottom of the email, there were three names--all different from Budget OR Green Pacific. In this email, it was stated we had to pay this extra money by cash or postal money order only (written in bold type.)

When we spoke to the driver, this was confirmed. No credit card, no checks, no bank money orders (in other words, nothing traceable.) In addition, when we asked him who we should write these money orders out to, as our contract was with Green Pacific Van Lines, but the new bill had three other names on it, he told us to not worry about it and just give him the blank money orders, and he would fill them out in our presence (!)

I have since done some research online, and found out that if we do not pay the driver, he holds our things hostage, takes them to a storage, and we get billed for storage and redelivery on top of everything else, before they will release our items to us.

We tried calling our lawyer, who told us these guys are essentially operating in a legal loophole. We tried calling the police, who told us they can do nothing as it's a civil matter. We are not going to let this go and are bringing legal action against these companies. I say companies because so far I've found many different names for them, all linked--from California all the way to New York. (Budget Van Lines is supposedly located in New York, however if you check up on them, their official address is in California. Green Pacific Van Lines gives a California address--if you check that online, it leads you to a site that sells "virtual office space packages"--they don't have a real office at all!) Here are the linked names I've found so far:

Budget Van Lines
Green Pacific Van Lines
Green Pacific VanLines
Green Point Van Lines
Greenpoint Van Lines
Green Van Lines
Nationwide Top Movers-
Nationwide Trusted Movers
Nationwide Moving Services
Trusted Moving and Storage
Trusted Movers
Planet Moving and Storage
National Van Lines
Green Wheels Van Lines

Google any of these names and you will find nightmare stories--even video news stories. I don't know how these guys are allowed to continue operating. Even when people pay and get their belongings, often there are missing or severely damaged items, or they receive someone elses things in with their own--or all of the above.

Budget Van Lines A very horrible company

I agree with all the comments regarding the horrible and untrustfulness of Budget Van lines. They do not deserve the $200 fee they charge for their services. They are horrible.

I didnt know who the actual moving company was going to be until the day before I moved. I tried on numerous occasions to get this information from Budget Van Lines so that I could research the moving company. According to them they do not release this until the day before moving. WELL I WONDER WHY? Claim they only deal with reputable moving companies. NOT?

My contract was with J & P Moving which again I did not find out until the day before my move and they are horrible. Set very unrealistic time lines, and unable to deliever when committed to. I have also seen many, many comments after the fact (given I had no time to research them) but see they deliver broken items, and have horrible customer service. When I spoke with them, they were very unprofessional and could never give me a specific time line for pick up. What horrible service.

After picking up my items, they called and advised me of a specific delivery date, and today i'm told it will be an additional 10 days out because they had no truck to deliver, so basically my items still sitting in the original spot.

What did I pay Budget Van Lines for? To provide me with a moving company who is unreliable and unprofessional? this is what the $200 bucks was for? If it was just to find a mover, heck I could have done that. Very, very disappointed in their services and will be taking this further.

IM GOING THRU THE SAME SITUATION NOW. BUT I HAVENT RECEIVED MY HOUSEHOLD GOODS YET. BUDGET VAN LINES HIRED A THIRD PARTY CONTRACTOR TO DELIVER MY ITEMS. I FOUND OUT WHO THEY WERE AFTER MY STUFF WAS PICKED UP. THIS THIRD PARTY CONTRACTOR, WHOM I DIDNT APPROVE OF, HAD BEEN RATED "D" BY THE BBB AND HAD 40 COMPLAINTS IN THE LAST 3 YEARS. ALSO HAD A NEWS SPECIAL STATING HOW THEY WERE SCAMMERS, AND WENT INTO PEOPLES BOXES AND TOOK STUFF THEN RE TAPED THEM. I CONTACTED THE DOT AND SPOKE TO A DETECTIVE CAUSE ITS A FEDERAL OFFENSE. GOOD LUCK!

Budget Van Lines is in for a big surprise! They are criminals, and it's about to end. I feel for all the people who have had to endure the stress and loss of money due to a company that know fully well what they are doing. Scam! Scam! Scam! What goes around, comes around. LAWSUIT!

Budget Van Lines Binding Estimate

Binding Estimate was given by Budget Van Lines and it was woefully inadequate based on the moving company they sent to pick up the goods. This according to G&G Moving & Storage and/or G&G Best Transportation located at 1409 Kuehner Drive, Ste. 146, Simi Valle, CA 93063. Phone number [protected]. G&G basically was going to hold the goods hostage until I came up with more than double the original Binding Estimate from Budget Van Lines. Budget Van Lines did nothing but tell us they were going to contact G&G to have the truck weighed again when they got to our destination. This did not happen. Do to Budget Van Lines estimate we were unable to have a very happy Christmas because we had no money.

Budget Van Lines Awful &moving company&

This company lies and lies and lies and has no remorse for the families that they screw over. We were given a pick day of Oct.27th. A week before that date, they said "due to scheduling problems" that our date had been postponed until Nov. 4th. We have patience...so we said, "okay". On Nov. 4th, we called dispatch and they informed us that because of other families not being prepared...they could not even start to load our posessions until the next evening. Then, the next evening they said, "How about we do it all tomorrow morning, we have a few guys (one of which they said they pay in cash...why they told us this is eyond me and sheer stupidity.) So Saturday rolls around and nobody shows up. We were told that something happened to the truck, a part blew in the motor. Then this week, we were not given the a phone call. We left a message stating that we demand to know when they will show up if EVER! We get an email stating they estimate they will be here between November 17th-20th. And who knows when they would actually drop off our belongings, halfway across the country. DO you know what the rude woman (named Theresa by the way) said to me? "The email reservation was the only one you made. There is no record of anything before that!" WHAT?! So we were hallucinating the calls (on my phone records, by the way) and constant excuses? I lost almost a month, if I'm lucky, when this is all said and done. They are only brokers and they can't even do that job correctly? And by the way...if anyone at Budget Van Lines is reading this (don't deny it's your company...cause it is. Your phone number is [protected]) do not ever make your customers feel stupid or mistreat them...I have read far too much about you and you cannot tell me "Oh. that's another company that uses our name." Please. Thank you for hurting my husband's ability to make income at his new job and thank you for making it impossible for me to move my three disabled children without incident, worry or stress. NOT!

Budget Van Lines Unethical Moving Company

My experience with Budget Van Lines was not pleasant. Please do your research first regarding this company. I question some of the movers they contract with or find for your move. I normally do self-moves and wished I had never considered seeking out a full-service moving company. Budget VanLines sent out a local moving company that showed up late in the evening expecting for me to allow them to come in to my home to do the move. The truck was not a company truck with their logo on it, but was an Avis Rental truck. The trailer was so dirty and filthy filled with debris, etc. I have spoken to Amy, Bonnie, verbally; however, the Manager, Melissa Lilly/Lily, never responding to my written complaints. I have a funny feeling that when you speak with Sales in NY, they only have one rep named Alan Katz.
Again, my experience could be turned into a book! I too would love to see an action class lawsuit against them, if I were financially in the position to hire an Attorney, I would do so in a heartbeat! Please do your research first about Budget VanLines and many reviews are not positive-they are crooks! To All: NEVER USE BUDGET VAN LINES!

Budget Van Lines Cancelled after pickup date was missed

DO NOT USE BUDGET VAN LINES Giving them the benefit of my doubt, we contracted to move my son from Michigan to Utah. I signed the contract on July 22, 2010. I paid them $611, which they have not submitted for payment, and has now been put on fraud alert. The agreed up pickup date was July 30th through August 1st. They were to deliver August 8, 9, 10. My Son needed to be at work on August 9th. We paid and extra $150 for that smallthree day window, The movers were to call, 24-48 hours in advance. On Friday July 31st, I called my salesperson, Dan, and he said "that he was sure 99% that the pickup was August 1st or 2nd. Not hearing anything, I called on Sunday the 1st, and received only recordings, so much for being a service organization 7/24 as told. On Monday, I tried three times, finally someone called back ( he is prpbably fired for doing so. He told me there was no scheduled pickup, today, tomorrow, anytime. We discussed, I asked for his manager, and of course got a recording. I then called back, and pretended to be a new client, and of course they answered ( always for fresh meat to prey on). This person, Victor, attempted to be helpful (probably new), said they could wave the fee that we were charged to deliver on August 9th, thought they could pick up on the 5th and deliver on the 8th. He went off line, came back with the anwer no. No offer to compensate, only offer to continue to find a mover. We had to go to plan B, and are now out and additional $900 to make the move by August 9th. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY !

Budget Van Lines Don't use them

DO NOT USE BUDGET VAN LINES!

If you value your possessions, DO NOT USE BUDGET VAN LINES!

They are a "BROKER" not a "MOVER". They put your job out to their list of movers for the lowest bid and keep the "rest" of the money that YOU paid.

TWO YEARS after the mover they chose dropped my things off at a storage facility and LIED about "attempting" delivery I am still receiving emails from OTHER VICTIMS I had PNEUMONIA! I couldn't have been gone from my apartment if I WANTED TO! I laid on the floor with a pillow (they had my bed!) and a blanket and received an EMAIL not a CALL that they attempted delivery and had put my things into a local storage - I am STILL getting personal emails from people who are being RIPPED OFF!

The STORAGE facility WOULD NOT give me my belongings until the MOVER (after they contacted Budget Van Lines) RELEASED my household goods! I had to PAY for a MONTH of storage (guys, my things were there for two days by the time these jerks "released" my goods!).

If you have already been taken by Budget Van Lines, call and WRITE to the Attorneys Generals of New York, California AND your own state. DO NOT allow them to get away with this crap any longer.

Eventually there will be a change in the laws and a class action lawsuit, but it's better just NOT to use a BROKER such as Budget Van Lines. They are NOT A MOVER - look up complaints on this company and you will find mine (over two years old) and others that are from THIS WEEK.

ASK THE QUESTION! IS YOUR COMPANY A BROKER? GET THEIR ANSWER IN WRITING!

LOOK UP COMPANY FOR COMPLAINTS! CALL and CHECK OUT the BBB locally and online. ARE THERE COMPLAINTS?

AGAIN, DO NOT USE BUDGET VAN LINES!

I had to relocate my family to another state during a very stressful time of our lives, and moving was an added stress that I was not looking forward to at all. I started calling moving companies. Finally, I spoke to a representative at Budget Van Lines who broke it all down for me in just a few minutes and reassured me that there is no reason this should be stressing me out- we’re just moving furniture, after all, lol. He gave me an estimate that kept me on my budget and continued providing professional courtesy all the way until my items were delivered, no matter how many times I called and bugged him with questions.

Upon delivery of our items the carrier Budget used was helpful and nothing was damaged. To tell u the truth I’m very happy and using Budget Van Lines turned out to be a good decision for me and my family.

Budget Van Lines DO NOT USE THEM

First I would like to say that my huband and I will never use your services again. We will be sure to tell all our friends and write on as many reviews about how unprofessional your services were. I had a great first impression with Budget, I got the quote that I needed and put down the deposit to place my move. After that, it all went down hill. First, I could not get ahold of my sales rep for four days after she had told me to call her back with the definite dates that I need pick-up and delivery. I called the budget number over 15 times not getting ahold of anyone and leaving numerous messages with no call backs. Finally, my sales rep called me back after four days of wondering if this was a scam to let her know that I needed pick-up on the 5th and delivery on the 8th. She said "no problem, that will work." I asked multiple times that those were going to be the permenent dates for pick-up and delivery and she insured me it was. That was lie number one. Lie number two was she kept telling me the forms of payment were on pick-up cash, money order, or credit card, again so I was not mistaken I asked multiple times if I could pay for it on my credit card and everytime the answer was yes. The payment method on delivery was either cash or money order...no credit card. So my sales rep knew I was going to pay half the amount on my credit card and the other half in cash. Tell me why, when the movers got to my house...they told me the only way I could pay was either cash or money order? I told they I was told that I could pay with my credit card and they said they have never taken credit card so they don't know why I was told that. Third lie, I was told that the moving company would call me 24 hrs. in advance as to what time they would arrive. As I waited and waited for the call, I figured I would be responsible and call the company myself. The number budget gave me, not once did someone pick up. I left messages with no one calling me back. I called budget and they told me that they would call the company to see if they could get any answers, So the moving company finally called me to let me know that the pick-up time would be between 8-10am. They said the movers would call one hour in advance to arrive at my house. While I was talking to someone about the pick-up time, I was unaware that the moving company was also calling my husband with a pick-up time which was between 1-3pm. After my husband and I figured out that they had given us two different time frames, I called the company but only got their answering machine which by the way was a generic please leave a message which didn't even have the company name on it. Since I didn't know what time they were going to arrive at, my husband and I waited at home waiting for them to arrive. When 2:30pm rolled around and we had not heard from the movers I decided to call the company again to see where they were at. Again, I got their generic voicemail. I called budget to see if they could get ahold of anyone. Finally I got a phone call from one of the movers who said they would be there around 5:30-6pm and when I asked what happened to 8-10 and 1-3, there answer was we have been stuck in traffic! I wasn't about to start argueing with the guy since his english was so broken that I could barely understand him. But whatever happened to calling the customer since he had my number and letting me know that they were running late? That would have been nice. Finally they arrive at 6pm packed up our stuff which they had a penske truck that already had someone else's furniture on it, but I was told it would be divided by a board so I would be able to see the other people's furniture. All that divided my furniture from theirs was two ropes approx. 2 inches thick that went across from one end of the truck and they back across. Then the movers spent another hour and a half after removing all our funrniture from my home because they could not get everything to fit. AN HOUR AND A HALF because they did not have a big enough van, and we had less boxes then what we had originally told them so they should of had plenty of room. So now my husband and I pack up and move the 200miles from Virginia to North Carolina one day before our furniture is suppose to arrive. The moving company told us that they would call 24hrs before they arrived to drop off my furniture. So I waited and waiting again for the phone call which never came. So again, I call budget to see where our furniture was and they tell me they have up to six days to arrive with my furniture. I told them no, I told them specifically that I needed my furniture on the 8th and my sales rep told me that was not going to be a problem. The lady told me that she doesn't know why I was told that but it was incorrect and that if I needed a specific date that I could have paid extra. I was never told that I would have to pay extra to get a set date which I would have gladly done, but was asked what date I needed my furniture and I told them the 8th and she said "no problem, we can make that happen" The lady kept telling me that if I needed a certain date that I should have paid the extra cost which I guess she was not getting through her head that if I had been offered that option, I would have taken it and paid the extra money. So the lady said that my furniture will arrive on the 10th and that the movers will call 24hrs before arriving. It is now the 10th and I never got a phone call yesterday and I have been on the phone none stop with budget because neither one of us can get ahold of the moving company that they hired to find out when my stuff will be delivered. So as you can see why I am extemely frustrated and why I will NEVER EVER use budget van lines again.

After the "sales" pitch, service went downhill fast. I am filing a complaint with the better business bureau and making sure people know how very horrible the service is. The company they used to move us was late, made a hole in our wall, was unavailable most of the time, and now they have my stuff and I haven't hear from them.

Don't Budget Van Lines. The worst service EVER!

My experience using Budget Van Lines was frustrating...cannot use the right words, will be accused of coursing.
The calculation of the "move weight" started the issue. they were off for about "6000 Pounds" of the initial "Quote" which I call the "Hook"; not that my inventory was wrong, is just the way of calculating before and after you pay the "Booking Fees". The "Quote was an All Charges Included". However, when the transportation company showed up, two days later...There were extra charges for "Origin Fees" (Another way of Double Deeping for the "Booking Fees"); Fuel Surcharges, and a whopping increase of 100% of the initial quote because the inventory did not agree with the one Budget Van Lines send to the carrier.
The driver was instructed to "Do not even open the truck at delivery, until the payment was made in full; only cash accepted or USPS Money Order". This means...Pay or pay, regardless of the condition or increase in cost. Due to the carriers delay, I needed to pay another month of rent to my Landlord. In addition, no Customer no-service was available to complaint or resolve the issues.
