Things have changed
Ive been a brightway insurance customer for many years with wonderful customer service. Something has changed as of late. I'm no longer dealing with the folks I knew and this Sarah person was very cold and uninterested in my needs or concerns. We had been having an issue with the insurance they set us up with and refused to help. Because of this issue we ended up being surcharged on our policy. I found a cheaper policy elsewhere and told Sarah I found other insurance, that I won't be needing their services. She never cancelled the renewal on that policy. I ended up with two auto policies and double charges on my card. I tried reaching them without success. I contacted my current insurance broker who got me the help I needed. The insurance company was far more helpful than brightway was.
Local agent for brightway
Ongoing problem over past two years. Excellent service from prior agent/owner (Bashant). Agency was sold to Zanfini Family. I asked a basic question for budget planning regarding what to expect in rate increases (based on their experience with other customers with similar policies in my area. Always would receive 'boiler plate' reply ie. you are important and we will get back to you. After a month, I sent a copy/email to the agents corporate group. They simply sent my complaint back to the agent. He called in anger, blamed others and never answered my original question. I simply paid the premiums and let it go. Last mid december 2022 I sent a similar request to Zanfini, again boiler plate 'will get back'. I waited over a month, and sent a copy of the original email again. No response. Now in late February, I started to switch my policies away from Zanfini/Brightway and sent an email stating I was in the process of switching carriers, stating his lack of service/responses and called it 'bull****'. This got Zanfini attention. He sent an email calling me VULGAR, Harassing and bullying! Remember I am the 'customer'. He further lied by saying he had his staff contact me and that I brushed them off as unacceptable. I never received contact mail or email from him or his staff. I asked that they provide me with any such correspondence. Nothing .. I said I planned to complain to Brightway Corporate and the BBB. He said 'go ahead', so I asked him for the appropriate Brightway contact for complaints. Again no response. He asked that we 'meet' face to face at his office. I declined. I have renewed my homeowner insurance with a different group, and as auto and flood polices are up for renewal I plan to shop elsewhere. I do not need this guys lies, lack or service, name calling, etc. this is not very professional for anyone in a service industry. I do not blame Brightway, I blame this 'agent'. Short term I am trying to switch to another local Brightway agent, but without some form of resolution I will have no choice but remove completely from Brightway as well as Zanfini. I look forward to a reply from Brightway and will no longer deal with Zanfini (for anything). I was a loyal customer for 15 plus years had 2 to 4 autos with them, and variuos home carriers and flood insurance. Prior to Zanfini service was polite, professional, timely and honest. Not any longer. I actually fear that Zanfini might try something funny with my existing policies. I monitor them, as I cannot honestly trust this guy (hopefully just being safe). Desired outcome: prompt reassignment of my polices to another local agent. better yet site this guy for his lack of professionalism, integrity, honesty, and respect for customers.

I first had the misfortune of these agents in 2020. I called up to gat a homeowners quote. I received one that was ok. I went through the process of opening up a policy with Homeowners Choice. After I signed they sent me an email. Evidently, There was an error in their favor. I feel it was their responsibility for this error. Something was left out . I called them to tell them that , because of the price, I signed with them. Then then sent me an additional bill for their mistake. Almost I called and left 7 messages with no response. Horrible! Horrible! Horrible! This is just a [censored]TY way of doing business. Do Not Get A Policy With Brightway Insurance! BEWARE!
Flood insurance
My flood insurance was paid 30 days ago
And I have been on the phone with my mortgage company and the staff member for Bright Way over 45 mins now the check has been cashed and I have been transferred WAY to many times to resolve this non existing issue, there need to be more sufficient staff to remedy these kinds of complaints like other businesses!
This is totally in acceptable customer service, and it is an experience to be reconciled with.
Desired outcome: To provide exceptional customer service experience!! And value clients time.
Homeowners Insurance
Imagine having an insurance agent and agency that is supposed to be the link and access to bureaucratic insurance companies and then call for help only to be told you have a 48 Minute wait for someone to talk with you!? Well that IS Brightway Insurance. Find another agency...
Hurricane matthew damage
Before Hurricane Matthew I had a beautiful home on the Halifax River in South Daytona. I was required to have Flood Insurance which was sold to me by Brightway Insurance. I was assured my home and property was covered in the case of a disaster. The hurricane hit, my roof, chimney cap was damaged, water come in through both, water forced its way through my doors, windows, sliding glass doors by wind and flood. I had to evacuate and was told that I had Loss of Use coverage to protect me while my home was unfit to live in. Atleast that was what I was told by Brightway Ins and Florida Peninsula, up to $23, 700. They told me to secure a place to live while my home was being restored. I did just that, had to pay prerent, which was nonrefundable for a furnished apt. When I submitted the claim to Florida Peninsula they denied due to groundwater in the home. I had water in the home from many reasons, they chose to split hairs on the type of water to exclude me from Loss of Use and throw it in Fema's lap. Fema wont pay it because I have home insurance and flood insurance. Flood insurance will cover my lower kitchen cabinets and outside condenser of my air conditioner unit but not the upper cabinets even though they sit In my home with ensuing water damage due to water intrusion, wicking, humidity, mold, mildew and moisture for 14 days because I was told by the adjusters not to touch or remove anything until they took first hand pictures of the damage. I have a restoration company who's hands are tied due to the insurance stalls and denials. Even though we have a letter from a HVAC air conditioner expert stating you have to replace a damaged unit as a unit by code, they insurance companies are denying responsibility and wont pay for the unit. So I'm out an air and heating unit to keep my home fit to live in. I'm out upper cabinets for my kitchen. I'm out Loss of Use Additional Expenses and will be homeless at the end of the month even though I paid insurance premiums that promised I was protected from a Disaster. Fema wont help, Brightway insurance, Florida Peninsula, First Community Flood could careless, why not they have been paid their premiums. That leaves me that's out $35, 000 that I had before the storm, now I'm broke. Is this how someone who has served his country, someone who's busted his ### to raise and family and retired thinking live will be good should be treated? I don't believe so.

peter Craig is dishonest and unqualified to be selling insurance beware of this company after 2200.00 dollars and still no coverage . you need to steer clear of them very rude and will just rip you off . good luck getting your money back after as well they just do not care!
