Bob's Discount Furniture bad quality

Bob's Furniture Store offers great prices but the quality of the furnitures are very bad. Wood on sofa(s) not firm enough, cusions on sofa(s) very poorly stuffed, Dining table legs on chair and table not attaced firm enough, wood on material peels off and screws get very loose and ruins items. The investment is the worse ever made. I purchased complete living room set and dinning but never again. The protection plan, was a joke! When called and requested help I was given the run around and limited product coverage Esp. when off by a day of reported date. I am stuck with damaged furniture due to poor qualitly! Ashley Furniture, Levits, and any other store...HERE I COME! Sorry no photos attached.

Bob's Discount Furniture Sales rep

I went there a few weeks ago to see if I could open a line of credit. I have been able to do so from my previous purchase there, before they switched to Wells Fargo. When I went to go find a sales person, ( weekday afternoon) I found a group of them in the middle of the floor hanging around talking. I waited a few minutes so I didn't interupt their conversation. Finally I asked one of them if I could apply for credit. I wrote down my information very clearly so they could read it. Seems to me that she couldn't be bothered, VERY unprofessional! As I watched her type in my information into the system to run my credit, I noticed she was rushing through the whole thing. A few minutes passed and she just said " NOPE! You're denied credit with us!" I was taken back by the way she said that to me. I was puzzled as to why I would possibly be denied ( I always pay my bills on time and always get approved for credit). I so happened to glance over at her screen and noticed that she misspelled my lastname. She clicked out of the window immediately, so I said to her that she misspelled my lastname, she then sighed and went back into the window. While I waited to see if she could call someone to check to see if my denial was because of her not typing in the correct info, she tells me that " It doesn't matter if your name is misspelled, they base it on your social security number". I said "ok, I guess I'll wait for the denial letter in the mail". UPDATE: I called both Wells Fargo and Transunion. Neither of them had any information/inquires on my credit file. CONCLUSION: DO NOT TRY TO APPLY FOR CREDIT AT BOB'S! Funny thing is I applied for credit at Ashley Furniture, APPROVED RIGHT AWAY! I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH BOB'S AGAIN, EVER!

Bob's Discount Furniture recliner - sofa. love seat, table

Bottom line is that this furniture is the worst quality. It is nothing but the worst piece of crap I have even seen. Sofa has been replaced, recliner has been replaced. One year later $500 recliner collapsed with my son in it. Called for service, got an appointment and they never showed. Trashed recliner because it became hazardous to our health. Sofa and love seat have both started to sag and rip and all within a year of their replacement. The icing on the cake is the coffee table color is starting to rub off. Spent thousands of dollars there. Mr. Bob, Fool me once shame on you because Lord knows you will never fool me and hopefully the public will see this before they purchase this garbage and thus save them from buying this junk furniture. How do you sleep at night and continue to air all those commercials for unsuspecting consumers. We work hard for our money and the only one laughing is you at us fools.

I had no problems with buying my furniture at Bob's discount but once I got it i realized it was the worst piece of crap ever made. Every item I purchased from dining room, master bedroom to children's room has broken, chipped, etc. I purchased the warranty and the only thing it covered was when my son spilled scented oil on my dresser and the paint came completely off . My bed broke a short while after that and it was not covered. ARRGGHH. The frustration of spending your hard earned cash on garbage. Steer clear!

Bob's Discount Furniture customer care stinks!

I ordered a bedroom set for my daughter back early July. Initially I was pleased. The service folks were on time, the set looked nice. However, while assembling, they noticed that the drawer was broken. They assured me that it was a very simple process and I just called a number to order the part and the service men would come to fix. THAT WAS BACK IN JULY -ITS AUG (end)! They have given me nothing but the run around on scheduling an appointment and their customer service people are not responsive or responsible. Yesterday they were suppose to come and never did. In speaking to Mgr yesterday, she assured me the issue would be resolved however, I was later informed that the service men are now ONLY available 2 weeks from now! Bob's is awful with their customer care and I will never shop there again! Lots of options out there- simply not worth the time.

I am feeling your pain. We are both being tortured with Bob's evil customer non service monkeys. I too fell into the trap of Bob's Furniture. My special delivery was a living room set. The sectional was delivered with the sections in the different colors? I ordered sage. I received sage and mocha..Let me be clear some in mocha others in sage. Who orders that in different colors, I sent it back. I have been told for over four weeks my refund is coming. Today I Bob's told me the furniture never was returned. Can this be happening?

Bob's Discount Furniture horrible construction and cheap materials make this store a rip off

We bought a “Ciera” couch from Bob’s Discount Furniture. Within 4 mos the frame was warped. Not just a little, but all out of whack. Horrible construction and cheap materials make this store a rip off! Really, this piece of junk makes Ikea look like Ethan Allen. Just awful stuff. Please somebody from Bob’s track me down and give me my money back! It’s hardly saving money if the item does not even last one year. He has some tenacity coming on T.V. and saying nobody can beat him…that’s because nobody else is selling furniture mad out of paper mache. Just outrageous.

I guess the old saying "you get what you pay for" is really true. If something is too good to be true, it is! When you buy the same item twice in a year because it's poorly made and falls apart, you do not save, you end up spending more money! Consumers should report Bob's to BBB and inform other consumers not to make the same mistake.

Bob's Discount Furniture delivery

I ordered my furniture from the store in Poughkeepsie. It was delivered today. When it arrived the delivery person came to the door and looked in and said "oh it won't fit." I have had larger furniture deliver and there was never a problem. He was not even willing to try. he told me he would bring in the smaller pieces and leave the sofa outside and I could get someone else to move it in. I told them to take it back. I went to the store to get a refund and the store manager made no effort to make things right. I was so angry. I went to Davis Furniture, a local family owned business, and ordered new furniture for less and free delivery. They assured me there would be no problem with delivery. I have purchased from them before... I should have gone there first. I will never go back to Bob's again.Because of my issues they lost two more customers... my sister and my daughter. So when you think it's a good deal walk away go for quality and good customer service.

I recently purchased a bedroom set for my young daughters and a living room set and have had to wait weeks and months for the peices to come in and they are being delivered at all different times because things are either backordered or damaged. My children's bedroom set was scheduled to be delivered (except for the bed frames because that was on backorder) and when the delivery men arrived they had a damaged desk that they could not leave, only mattresses, there was no box springs because the set did not state that you needed a box spring to support the mattresses, and the delivery men would not leave the loaner frames because I had no box springs...I had to order the box springs and then the following week they delivered the new desk, box springs, and the loaner frames...the actual bed frames are still backordered and it has a month since I made the purchase and they are not expecting the actual bed frames for about another month. Now to the living room set, I purshased the set that I liked, a sectional couch, coffee table, 2 end tables, and a pair of lamps...the sales lady said that the sectional was backordered for 2-3 weeks and the tables and lamps were backordered out even farther, I agreed to wait on the sectional but picked out new tables and lamps that were not on backorder. I paid for the living room set in full that day and have been waiting for a call from them about the delivery date. I finally got a call today that the sectional was in but the tables are now on backorder and I would have to wait a few more weeks for the tables but they would deliver the sectional next week. I am shocked at the fact that the tables that were in stock and paid for are now on backorder, I would think that they would put the tables aside until delivery seeing as how I already paid for them. I purshased the bedroom set and then the living room set a week later, if I would have known all those inconviences were going to happen with the bedroom set I would not have gone back there for my living room set..I have now just experienced the same inconviences with the living room set! I will never go back there and would not reccomend Bob's Furniture to anybody!

Bob's Discount Furniture bedroom furnite

Furnite bubbles and scratches easily. Was not given at time of purchase the goof-proof protection kit to protect furniture from scratches. Therefore, furniture scratches easilhy. Furniture gets stuck to wall during times of extreme temperatures during summer, causing severe damage to walls. Example: when my dresser had to moved, a whole was caused in the wall. The plaster was stuck to the back of the mirror. When tried to file a claim, I was told that they would not replace furnture even though I paid insurance for 1-;year warranty.

Bob's Discount Furniture do not keep their word on claims

Over many years I have bought from Bob's Discount Furniture|. EVERY time the furniture has arrived damaged or they have damaged my home while they build the furniture in my room|. When I complained for the latest mess I got a run around for 8 months! When they claim to order parts, it is not true.. They do not follow up and they do not stand by their word on anything said|. I will never shop at Bob's again;. I would gladly pay more for furniture from a real store". I actually suspect they are having financial problems from all the prior posts and that they do not to make customers whole including me.. Watch out for them getting your money and not giving what you bought!

In less than 5-years, the sofa is a peeling, horror. Bob's representative said there nothing they could do a year ago. I would never purchase a sofa from them again. Craftsmanship is terrible and you get what you pay for.

Bob's Discount Furniture bed bugs

We moved to a brand new appartment in January, and we also purchased every thing at Bob s Furniture. it was the worst experience ever; we have to call almost every day to get the furniture, we finally got the living room in March, 2 moths after. ever since we've been sleeping on that my husband when we wake up we've been having red spots in the arms specially and it's very scratchy. we thought we were allergic to the mattress fabric so i went and buy and mattress pad, and it didn t stop, until 2 two ago i found a giant BED BUG c rowling on my bed, i was so surprised. that s when i realized i purchased a bed with bed bugs in it. So i called them, they were vey rude, telling me they cant do anything about, they don t have bugs in their depot. I couldn t even talk to the manager. I am very desapointed, very angry!

Bob's Discount Furniture broken furniture and no help

I bought a recliner and a double reclining couch. Within the first week the recliner had a huge rip between the fake leather trim and the side material on the outside of the arm. They came the next week and they fixed it. Very poorly. There is a huge indentation where it was sewn up.

Within another few weeks, a coil came loose in the back of the recliner, and the couch reliner would not open all the way. Then it became impossible to close the recliner from the open position unless you slipped off and then got down on your hands and knees to push it.

So, I called for repair. They were to come April 15th. They never showed up. I called back and they told me that I had the wrong date. It was April 22. They didn't show up. I called again, and I was sure to get a confirmation number and a name for this past Friday May 6th. Of course they did not come.

I have the year warrentee, as well as the goof proof guarentee. It makes sense now. If they never show up, then you can have as many promises as they want to give you. They do not honor anything at all.

Does anyone have any advice?

Bob's Discount Furniture not answering the phone

I bought a dinning room set at bobs ;When i looked it over i noticed that on a couple of chairs there were nicks . I tried to call Bobs and tell them. I got a girl at the desk who for one thing I could not understand her also she connected me to customer service. Well let me tell you I had to call back four times because they had me on hold for an half an hour each time. Finally when I asked her not to connect me to customer sevice she said she would have to send an e=mail to them. You know when people come to my house and ask where I got my furniture I guess I will tell them to go else where because if there is anything wrong with it you can't contact the store. I feel this is bad business if you can;t talk to a person about a problem. Its too bad they take your money and then forget about you.

Bob's Furniture has the cheapest furniture it falls apart, the products are mostly all Defected products. NEVER AGAIN! I will never recommend this store. I have been waiting 3 months for new furniture since they send damage items. Customer service the worst they just put u on hold then hang up on you. I BOUGHT A COUCH SET AND CHAIR, GOT THE GOOFPROOF AND THE COUCH WAS DAMAGED JUST STARTED RIPPING ALL OVER, SO THEY BROUGHT A NEW ONE .6MONTHS LATER IT IS STARTING TO DO IT AGAIN, WOW, GOOFPROOF DOESN'T COVER IT TWICE, DID THEY EVER TELL YOU THAT, NEVER TOLD OR EXPLAINED TO ME ..SO THEY TELL ME THAT U CAN'T GET REPLACEMENTS FOR THE FURNITURE OR PARTs!so they send someone out to look at the couch, 3weeks later, i finally call them, now they suddenly have the parts and i have to pay for them wtf is that about ...

Bob's Discount Furniture junky furniture

In February, my husband and I picked out a bedroom set complete with lamps from Bob's. We explained to the salesman that we wouldnt be able to accept delivery until early March because we had a lot of work to do to the room. He made us feel comfortable and told us, no problem, there are plenty of sets in the warehouse. Well, when March came, I called to have the furniture delivered and was told that the set was on backorder until mid-April and the lamps were no longer available. We had no bed to sleep on and so we picked our second choice bedroom set instead. The delivery came about a week later with half of the 8 pieces broken. I sent 4 pieces back and a new delivery date was set. The next time the furniture came, 3 pieces were still broken. I am now awaiting delivery number 3 and still have no bed. It will not surprise me if the 3 pieces that come tomorrow are all broken. When you call customer service, they are very friendly and apologetic, but that doesnt help you get your complete bedroom set. Basically, Bob's furniture is cheaply made and I am sorry I ever started with them. Other companies dont make you pay in full before you receive your furniture. I am sure Bob's will eventually go out of business and I hope I stopped at least one person from buying anything from them.

Bob's Discount Furniture service

I am a recent customer that have purchased a bedroom set from bobs discount furniture in nashua nh. I was shedule for the first week of march for my furniture to be deliverd to our home.we got a call the we are shedule to receive out furnitute on march 5th 2011 between 12p and 3p...we never received our furniture I called the explanation they had for me was when they cancelled feb 19th order they did not cancel all that way. In witch it does not make any sence because I never schedule anything for feb 19th. So therefor they reshedule me for march 10th as an emergency delivery. I go to check my tracking on bobs website and nothing comes up, I call the store they tell me there is nothing shedule for march 10th. They for the 4rth time they have rechedule me for the following week but that I will only be getting half my furniture and on march 31st I will receive the rest. This is not what I payed for . I am very upset with bobs service. This will be the last time I will be purchasing and kind of furniture from bobs store. I have cleared the bedroom 3times because they have said I will be receiving my furntiture as schedule, I have my 3 month old daugther sleeping in her car seat cuz I been unable to set up her crib to keep the bedroom clear. This store needs to step it up and do there job right because they are loosing a lot of customer and they just lost one. I have nothing good to say about there service.

Bob's Discount Furniture delivery is a joke

I went to Bobs Discount Furniture in Worcester, MA and purchased a Living room set and dining room set. The delivery was scheduled and I was informed that a courtesy call would be made the day before the delivery..I NEVER got such a call from them & when I tracked my delivery online it stated they would be at my house between 10A and 1P. They came at 830A & I had taken my son to school so I missed them and when I called to reschedule a VERY rude customer service person told me I had to wait for a whole week before I could get my furniture! I waited for a whole week and they didnt show up on scheduled day! When I called another very rude & very bored sounding representative stated that they did not have my delivery schedule on file! :upset I'm livid & I dont have any furniture in my home as I sold my old furniture! It's been 2 weeks of ***, sitting & eating on the floor!I HATE Bobs Furniture & I will NEVER shop there EVER! I dont know what to do...I paid them cash and they now tell me it will take about 2 weeks to get a refund! I'm going CRAZY!

I would get the refund and tell them to stick it, ask for the corporate number and talk with them if the store has that many problems.

Bob's Discount Furniture defective

My husband and I furnished three entire rooms with Bob's in Stoughton, Mass., spending about $8, 000. At that time we also purchased one of Bob's inner spring mattresses, which after only a couple of years was collapsing. Bob's was great with coming out and verifying our problem and giving us a "store credit" for the full mattress cost of $600. So, in Jan 2010 we purchased an upgraded inner spring, the Black Label Euro Top, and now just over a year later the mattress is collapsing the same way, and my husband and I are small to average size. In May 2010, we relocated to Arizona where there are no Bob's stores, and when I called Bob's to advise them of this defect, they said they can't do anything because of "logistics"! So it does not matter to Bob's that this is the second faulty mattress they have sold us, because we live across the country, and have another faulty $900 mattress, we are out of luck! Their wonderful customer service was kind enough to say there's nothing they can do, and to contact the Blue Bell Mattress Company, which I might add they had NO information on! I am now advising all my family and friends that still live in New England to Boycott Bob's, if this is how they treat long time customers, with one of their known faulty products, then I want to save others the heartache that this has caused us. I have a bulging disk and sciatica and can no longer sleep on my own bed, and all Bob's can say is "sorry", well that's not good enough. I hope the $900 their refusing to return is worth it because I am going to make it my personal goal to make them lose as much business as possible!

You are ###ING ridiculous! You want them to send you a mattress across the entire country? Do you have any idea how much that costs? It's not their problem that you moved- if you want your mattress then go back and pick it up! What if you moved to another country, would you expect the same? They're a regional furniture company, not national or global! Thank god you're out of this state, one less idiot to have to deal with now!

We are having the same problem with the black lable euro however, only after 3 months... We live in portsmouth. Because the mattress protector they sold us failed and let a coffee stain through, they made us go through the protector company for mattress warantie. WEAK

Bob's Discount Furniture sells items they don't currently have without informing consumer

Purchased couch, chair, ottoman and antique cabinet on 1/16/11. Paid in full at time of purchase because salesman did not tell me they only require 20% deposit and balance 5 days prior to delivery. Was not informed cabinet was "special order". In fact, I was told at time of purchase all items were in stock and could be delivered in 1-2 weeks. Scheduled delivery for end of January at time of purchase. Received automated call night prior to delivery confirming but asked to call to confirm someone would be home. Made several attempts but kept on hold for more than 1/2 hour each time by automated system. Finally got through to store only to find out that it would be a partial delivery. They claimed the cabinet was damaged in transit. They asked if I wanted the partial delivery or to wait for full shipment in February. I opted for February and was given a delivery date of 2/24/11. The partial delivery showed up anyway which I explained to the delivery men that it had been rescheduled and they left with no problem. I called the store and they told me they cancelled the delivery and didn't know why it had come. They again confirmed the 2/24/11 delivery but no call received on 2/23 as promised to confirm a time so I again called the store only to be told that the item was again damaged in transit. Would not have another for at least a month. I told them this was unacceptable and wanted to speak with a manager. I was told it was his day off. I insisted I speak with someone in charge. They told me call back tomorrow. I again insisted and was told I would speak with another manager. Hmm, I was conveniently disconnected while on hold. I called back and was put on hold to be transferred. The manager had a bad attitude from the start. Made no headway. Finally agreed to call me with more information the next day. The next day was a repeat of information from the day before. No delivery would be made. He hung up on me. I called the store and asked for his boss. They wouldn't tell me who that was only that he was on his day off. I asked for that person's boss was told they didn't know who that was. I asked for the name of the Regional Manager and they refused instead asking me what it was in regard to. I said I wanted to file a complaint. I insisted on the Regional Manager's name. Same runaround. I finally got his name but was told he wasn't in that office. I called corporate and was given yet another voicemail. Left a message but did not return my call. Called corporate again and told I couldn't reach anyone. I was offered to be connected with "Bob's secretary" and said she would take care of it. I again got voicemail. I left two messages with no return calls. Tried to call the salesman who was supposed to be tracking my order but was told it was his day off. Spoke again with the first manager who now tells me the item wasn't damaged this second time but that the factory hasn't been able to fill the order and they are still trying to fill orders from November, 2010. I suggested they not sell anymore of this cabinet until the factory can catch up but he poo pooed me. I asked that they give me the showroom cabinet until they can supply a new one. He said "that's not gonna happen". They knowingly sell items they can't deliver in a timely fashion. Because the store requires you to clear the room prior to delivery I had all my furniture removed by a junk dealer and have had no furniture since the first delivery date. Now it will be another 4-6 weeks! They don't care. Told me I should have taken the couch and chair. However, if I did that I have a feeling I would never receive the cabinet and since it was the cabinet that I built the room around I wouldn't want the rest of the furniture since one is brown and the other red and the cabinet is the only thing tying it together. Try returning the couch and chair when they tell me the cabinet has been discontinued! Have not received a new delivery date for March but doubt it will be available even then. Checked with Better Business Bureau. They have a rating of F. Lowest you can get! All websites I found have similar experiences. Shouldn't be allowed the fraudulent practice of selling items and taking payment when they can't meet their contractual obligations with the consumer. Obviously have worked out an automated system to protect them from all the complaints.

Bob's Discount Furniture ignorance/miscommunication

I ordered a dresser for my mother to be delivered to a nursing home. I specifically stated to please have the gentlemen delivering the furniture to call me so that I would be there. I live 3 miles away. They delivered the furniture without specifically calling me, and on the slip it had my mother's name, not the nursing home. Which I specifically requested also. The salesman was on something, because, as I was explaining, he was just doing his own thing. He was downright ignorant. Won't be shopping at Bob's again.

Bob's Discount Furniture POOR QUALITY FURNITURE

I am posting this complaint after viewing numerous complaint's about my suspecting that the furniture was possibly of poor quality, when recently noticed the canopy attachments have become lose without being able to be tightened; noticed that the poles simply come right up and the internal wooden hole have no "ridges to come together to tighten" the poles which are causing them to just sit in without being screwed. I never did an inspection of the furniture, but instantly noticed after delivery "paint scraped off" on the mirror dresser.

I WILL BE CONTACTING THE STORE IF GOD PERMITTING TOMORROW AND FOLLOWING UP ON THE POSSIBLE OPTION OF REPLACEMENT NOT KNOWING IF WARRANTY WAS PURCHASED, IT WAS A GIFT.

I AM DEFINITELY NOT TRUSTING ANY SUPPOSE ALLEGATIONS OF THE FURNITURE BEING NEGLECTED WITH ALL THE POSTING OF DAMAGED FURNITURE BEING DELIVERED AS NEW, BESIDES THE FURNITURE WAS JUST DELIVERED ON: DECEMBER 23, 2010.
