Maintenance bill at Blue Green!
Complaint Rating: 100 % with 3 votes

BlueGreen Resorts

I own points at Blue green resorts, I used to have weeks. I was conned into converting to points by their sales man. I didn't have any problems until I received my maintenance bill. I had to pay a subsidy for owners who didn't pay their own bill. Blue green refuse to reply why this payment is required. Blue Green refuse to refund this money. My home resort was The Fountains (formerly Oasis Lakes). I no longer pay maintenance for this resort, I don't know what resort I am paying the maintenance bill for Blue Green wont tell me. Their so called customer Service aren't really interested in helping or replying about this, BUT they will give you telephone numbers for you to sell your Time share points (but you will have to pay upfront for this service, £300+). I have banked 21000 points with RCI for future holidays, When I convert my point to weeks to be saved, Blue Green give me weeks in very obscure resorts, that are everywhere, and no one in their right mind would ever want to stay there or ever use. I hope the resorts aren't anything to do with Blue Green. My new points start in October, I cant book a holiday at my home resort, as I don't even know what my home resort is any more. The representative at the resort isn't very helpful either, they just refer you to the Blue green website and their customer service.

If anyone is contemplating owning a time share, stay away from Blue Green, they lie and will try and cheat you out of your points and hard earned cash with their smooth talking sales staff, get your money and leave after an hour, it don't matter how rude you are, you aren't going to see the staff again, and if you do, they wont acknowledge you

I regret the day I ever heard of Blue Green and changing my weeks to points. I would like to take Blue green to court over this charge for owners who don't pay their bills and we have to cover for them, any help or advice please

DON'T USE BLUE GREEN RESORTS, you will lose money, YOUR money!

Derrick Brown (1 very annoyed owner)!

Derrick,
We just today were convinced to buy more points and sell our deeded unit for points to be silver members for more flexibility in reservations. We owned a unit facing the lake and pool in bldg. 3 and haven't gone for the conversion until now because we were afraid of not being able to get our same unit on wk. 13 we have enjoyed each year it matches with our spring break. Our new deeded points unit is in Las Vegas in two parts with 22, 000 points divided between wk 14 and 15 in the same unit. My concern is that our anniversary date is May 1 which puts us in a position to not be able to book week 13 or 14 for spring break 12 months ahead because we don't get points deposited until May 1. So we might not get a jump ahead of other Bluegreen owners who can now book 11 months ahead. Our spring break was late this year. We also had an assessment this year in addition to our usual maintenance fees and taxes and insurance. Sales rep said it was because original week owners did not pay maintenance fees so those of us who did were assessed the difference. We're worried we made a mistake converting to points and hope we can get info to consider canceling the deal before it's too late...10 days. Have you talked to anyone else in the same boat?

I had a phone call from someone at Bluegreen, it seems we didnt purchase any further points, just an upgrade, our total now is 21000 points, whick is worth just over a week
I would say if you have a chance back out of it, keep your week (you can bank it with RCI and save it or move it to a more convinient time, ) or stick with the date you have got

When we transferred our weeks to points, they were worth 21000 points, we ended up paying 5000 (approximately for some upgrade, which I am waiting for Bluegreen to explain what it mweans exactly, becuase I have no idea, and their paper work means nothing to me

I banked my 21000 points with RCI, and then asked them for my resort (the fountains in October, I did get them, BUT it cost me £318, ) oh, yes, they DIDNT have the Fountains, BUT they did have Oasis Lakes, I thought they were both the same) I wasnt happy, but I'm just going because I want to find out what this upgrade is all about I have bout, so far I havent seen any upgrade, just a lot of messing about

Give them a call and find out EXACTLY what you have upgraded to, and do it sooner rather than later, might be a good idea to record the conversation as well (this can be done with the phone on speaker and a video camera, ignore the picture, its the speech you are after, have a practice to try it out)

Regards

Derrick and Graham,
we also use to have a floating week at Oasis Lakes but traded it back to Bluegreen back in2004 and I can honestly say it was the bes thing we have ever done .
We can now use our points at all the 40 odd resorts within BG we have bonus time at $69 per night and yes we have sayed in buildings 3 and 4 for just that $69 per night
You have not lost money at all some of the Oasis Lakes owners did not pay their MF and so the rest of you had to make up the difference since your association is Oasis Lakes at The Fountainns and not Bluegreen Vacation Club.
BG vaction club MF went up this year partly due to the increas in Insurance and property tax at The Fountains.
The explanation for your upgrade is as follows

Your Oasis Lakes Unit is worth 13000 points of season and 16000 points peak.

You will have a peak season unit (the same as we had) and get 16000 points

The remaining 5000 points is your upgrade ie the number of points you need to join Bluegreen Vacation Club.

back in 2003 when BG bought from Airtours the min points package was 4000 to join BG .

This is what we did back in 2003 we then upgraded in 2004 having used the AIM prog to get BG points to go to Myrtle Beach

The best advice I can give you is to Join the Bluegreen Group on Yahoo.

Members of this group can tell you how to use your points and get the best out of them, there are members who have booked a studio offseason and traded into RCI and then traded back into Oasis Lakes at The Fountains they have only used 3000 points !!!

Please Join the Bluegreen Yahoo group

Please also note that the original assosiation is called Oasis Lakes at The Fountains and BG vacation Club is The Fountains

If you need any additional info please let me know

but I know I keep repeating myself but do join the Yahoo group there are lots of members that are only to willing to help you and explain far better that I can

I had a phone call from Boca Raton, Florida today,
Apparently, my maintainence bill didnt contain anything for owners who didnt pay, I cant check this as I dont have my bill any more

It was explained to me that when my week was converted to points, it was worth 13000 points and I apparently bought 8000 points, this isnt what the salesman told me, we wanted enough points rto stay 2 weeks each year, this amount of points we have now got doesnt let us stay for 2 weeks, just about 10 days is our lot,

I'm still not happy about the situation with Bluegreen though, whhen I tried telling Gerry, about this, he just really wanted mre to change my views and add a statement here

We didnt have a floating week, ours was fixed and in October (week 36) and I had no problems with that

I think I'll join this Yahoo group, or at least have a look

I wish Bluegreen would buy my points back, but I cant see that happening, but I'm still looking for any company that would sell my points WITHOUT my putting money up front, I'd pay double their fees to get it done
