Bluegreen Vacations this is a scam where they made the rules and changed the rules after a completed purchase

We have yet to take advantage of the "wonderful" vacation experience that we purchased. As a "proud" owner of a worthless vacation, I still cannot believe we bought into this scam. Although Blue Green has a beautiful location (s), good luck getting into one. Upon purchase, we were told about the opportunities for impromptu vacations since due to work schedules, we could not plan a year in advance. The sales person wholeheartedly stated that a large number of customers do a "spur of the moment" vacation and they cater to "folks like us." It has never happened! As owners, we would have first choice with accommodations available that accommodate schedules like ours. Yeh, right! Today, frustrated with monthly payments, fees and taxes, I once again tried to schedule a 3 day vacation two months in advance. Guess what!?! No room at the Inn. Perhaps retired couples that can plan a year in advance may find Blue Green works for them, but for us, after paying years of monthly payments, fees and taxes, we have yet to have that dream vacation. If you are NOT an owner at Blue Green, you can reserve a room now at a cost of almost $400.00 for that 3 day vacation, since they have many units available that are for the general public, but as an owner, there is nothing. Of course, we could book a room for 3 days as a non owner, but we have paid Blue Green thousands of dollars already, why pay them another $400.00? Blue Green needs investigated. This is a scam where they made the rules and changed the rules after a completed purchase.

I was charged $150 four times on 2-07 and once on 2-09 when renting points for a vacation to Myrtle Beach SC.

Not gonna lie I haven't had an experience like this... I'd be the first to complain as well... it all depends on location, day of the week, time of year... it is difficult to book desirable locations with little time to book but there are tricks to booking... first call them, don't rely on the website... second keep checking all day everyday bc rooms open up all the time... u just have to put in the work... best way is to get in good with someone at the desk as u spend time there, maybe a tip every now and then and being nice will get u special treatment... but never rely on just the website... I honestly thought it was prob a scam at first as well but it's turned out to be really convenient and opened up a way to travel that most places can't offer... it's brought our family together better than any other traveling experience... and to have all the locations they do allows us to usually always have bluegreen as an option in case anything happens or things end up changing... from family funerals to graduations to reunions, bluegreen has been apart of our family for 15 years now... I'm def not trying to sell anyone anything I'm just being honest... and on top of everything they have been extremely patient with my friends and I when there were times we should have been kicked out... always befriend security bc it's real easy to get wild at these places... just giving my two sense... I hope yall have fun whatever u decide...

False promises made at time of purchase that didn’t come to fruition. Hard/impossible to get desired vacation destinations without continuously purchasing more points/ownership

They never stop the escalating maintanance fees.
We have stayed in 3 bedroom condos in Orlando, for 4 years less than what we now have to pay for our annual maint. fee on our 1 bedroom Blue Green timeshare.

Hi!
Me "Fahmida shetu Aziz" & my husband "Ahsan h. Chowdhury" jointly bought Bluegreen time share from Las Vegas on 3rd April, 2014, when we went there on vacation. We are from Toronto, canada. My husband is Canadian & I am Canadian resident.

We feel very pressured when we went on that seminar. It was supposed to be 90 minutes presentation. They hold us there from 11 am- 6.30 pm. We were exhausted. We wanted to finish it off. But their sales tactics & sweet talks kept us being rude & we made the biggest mistake to our life to buy that.

It was our vacation. They already wasted a entire day. We didn't read their documents neither they mentioned their was a 5 day time period we can cancel.

They also arranged a finance from US credit card company when we told them we can't afford it. They did a credit check & in few minutes my husband got approved of a credit card of $5000 for down payment & rest they finance too which we have to pay $330 every month!

So we went with it & bought 10000 points for $19000.

Mortgage is set like that. Our time share initial payment was almost $2500 & for 10 years we have to pay $330 every month.

After we came back to Toronto, we paid back $2500 to the US credit card company that financed us because it was too much hassle to transfer money from canada to US.

We transferred the payment to our canadian credit card from May, so they took $330 from that account too on 8th may. We want to cancel our payment ASAP. We don't want to pay anymore money.

We want to cancel our time share immediately & want to get back the money $2500+$330.

Because every time we want to book anywhere in the world, They have no availability. We tried Bangkok, Malaysia & few places in india.

They don't receive phone calls. And when they do they say nothing is available & we should book 1 year advance!

All below things applied to us why we want to cancel timeshare & want our money back:

Being told you can rent off & make mortgage payment & even can make money.
Being told you are buying a real estate investment.
Being told your timeshare is a tax write off.
Being told they have a resale company in the event you want to sell your property/points.
Verbose claims to induce the purchase of the timeshare.
Not being informed of exchange fees and being told that you can travel freely at any time to any place.
Not being made aware of maintenance fees or that your fees will increase.
Not being informed of potential assessments as the property ages or that you may be responsible for additional dues when other timeshare owners have backed out of their timeshare.
Summoned to a meeting under the guise it is a mandatory "owners" meeting only to be pressured and sold an upgrade.
Not being able to use your timeshare, with the resort citing that nothing is available or you do not have enough points.
Not being informed of the time period in which you can cancel your timeshare.

Please help. We bought a house last year in Toronto. We have a high mortgage to pay off every month. We are having sleepless nights. We cannot rent out to people too because every time we want to book anything it's not available.

We don't want to pay any fees until it's cancelled. Their is lot of scam which we faced before.

Thanks

Fahmida shetu Aziz.
