The breeder, Jay, is very unpleasant - he breeds cats to fund his luxurious lifestyle, and it's the cats who pay the price.
When we collected our cat we knew something was wrong and took her straight to the vet. The vet said it was Cat flu. She said she was always seeing kittens from Birchcarrs, and most of them die. We contacted Jay and his response was, 'It's insured, if it dies you can claim the money back'. Nice.
Four-weeks and £1000 in vet bills later Poppy was well. She was not litter trained and was not accustomed to human contact.
Jay said he would refund our deposit, but it never arrived.
Jay makes a big thing about working for Harrods pet store, but I've checked and they've never heard of him.
Jay is very rude and lies very easily.
AVOID THIS BREEDER!

Absolutely agree with the above. I also dealt with Mark, who was pleasant enough. I bought 2 brothers from them in 2010 and within 2 weeks they both needed vet treatment. They both had ear mites, one had cat flu and the other had a bad eye, which at the time was explained as he had been scratched by one of the other kittens. I emailed my complains but never heard back from. Unfortunately one of the cats died due to FIP at 3 years old and I lost the other just recently by an unexplained sudden death. Birchcarrs should not be allowed to breed cats.

I agree with the above comment. We assumed this was a reputable breeder and got two bi colour kittens in 2012. Within the first two weeks we had to take them to the vet as they both had ringworm and one had cat flu. We contacted the breeder who said he was sending a cheque to cover the vet fees and unsurprisingly it never arrived.
