BioLife Plasma Services harrisonburg va biolife

I have been banned due to the operator not understanding fully what a service dog is. I have him on recording stating his ignorance of the situation, yet also a lie he mentioned the ada gave him when he called.
I filled a complaint over a year ago, but have yet to hear back. His lack of allowing me to donate plasma due my having a service animal is unlawful and I would like this situation resolved. Not only for me but also for the future of service animals.

BioLife Plasma Services deferred

Ok I donate twice a week and have been for nearly 5 years. I have no problems donating the first time of the week but now have been deferred twice. It always happens near closing time. Last week on my $50 day I ate a roast beef sandwhich from arbys. I was told my plasma was slightly cloudy. Really cause I eat a roast beef sandwhich about 4 of the times I donate a month. So why wasnt I deferred those times. Then just a couple of hours ago. I was deferred again. This time I ate 2 turkey lunchables with a gatorade and same thing happened... Yet again on the $50 day. The lady asked what I ate and I told her. Her exact words were lunchables can do that. [censor] they can

I am having the same issue at the location that I am going to. Only I have a black female discriminating against me because I am white. She won't make eye contact with me with getting my vitals. I try to strike up a conversation but she completely ignores me and then has to announce my business to the entire facility. When I call in and try to speak to a nurse, she claims they are "busy" and that I have to leave a message. I'm pretty sure she isn't even giving my message to them. So irritating!

BioLife Plasma Services wrongfully deferred

I had been donating for 4 months. All of a sudden a quality control person tells me I need to see the nurse. I go in and she mentions the probation ankle monitor on my ankle. Which the doctor was aware of during my physical. They looked me up in criminal data base saw that I was on jail but released more than 12 month prior. My supposed crime was a sex crime. So they tell me i'm being permanently defered because I answered a question wrong. Question as written states have you been convicted of a sexcrime where the victim was under the age of 17? Again under the age of 17. My so called victim was not under 17. I was permanently defered because of this. And should not have been.

BioLife Plasma Services wasted my time and money

I live in gassaway, wv and the closest donation center was clarksburg which is about an hour and something away. So I entered my info and scheduled an appointment online, the day of I get there about 5 min early. I sign in the the nurse tells me to have a seat and it would be just a few minutes. Well, an hour later I finally decide to ask what's going on and if i'd still be able to donate, and the nurses response is no and i'd have to reschedule. (3hrs and gas wasted) I go back online and schedule for the next week. I get there 10 min early this time, sign in, and take a seat. 5min later the nurse tells me to come take a seat and we start filling out all the info and take fingerprints. Well when we are about done she asks my zip code and starts looking in a binder full of zip codes. "well sir, your not in our donor recruitment area; so you can't donate". Great i've now wasted about 6 hours and two tanks of gas! After telling the nurse that and that they are the closest center to me her response was, "check with another donor center". Really! And now its close to impossible to actually talk to someone to resolve my wasted time and gas because they couldn't of told me online when I first signed up that I couldn't donate at the center I scheduled an appointment for. So what to do now?

BioLife Plasma Services customer service issue

I tried donating plasma after work last night. I answered my questions like normal and then was seated in the waiting room and told I had to speak to management. All the employees were looking at me with what I thought was pity, which really freaked me out. They sat me down and made me wait without knowing anything; I was convinced I had cancer or some kind of disease because why else would I be called into the principal's office at biolife?!

I was in the waiting room with my boyfriend and the biggest man there pulled me into the room with another woman (a witness!?) and told me my boyfriend couldn't come with me, which freaked me out even more! As it turns out, this was just so he could yell at me! He called me into the principal's office to yell at me?! All because my boyfriend and I donate together and sometimes one of us isn't able to donate. Instead of making the other person wait for an hour, we leave and come back the next day. They are well aware of this when we come in and we take precautions to avoid it as best as we can, but it's not 100%.

What makes it worse is that it only happened to me once, but it happened to my boyfriend twice; why was he made to sit in the waiting room while I was being yelled at? I believe it's because your so called "manager" wanted to intimidate me into submission. Why else would he make my boyfriend stay outside when it directly involved him?

I am not a child, nor do I work there. I have universal blood and see it as a duty to donate because anyone can take my blood; I specifically chose biolife because I have family members with platelet disorders. I do not do this for the small amount of money you give me! Why am I being treated with such disrespect?!

Thanks to your company's fine customer service skills, I no longer feel comfortable going back to biolife. I will take my blood to people who appreciate it!

BioLife Plasma Services busting veins, not honoring coupons

My husband and I just started donating plasma a lil over a month ago. My husband had a coupon for 390$ and biolife will not honor due to cutbacks. Biolife on coldwater road in fort wayne, in closed doors for a week and a half therefore my husband was unable to fulfill the remainder of his coupon. Because their staff is improperly trained and busted one vein in my left arm and my husbands vein in his right arm busted by overworked staff not trained properly, we both will not be coming back to biolife to donate. A nurse told my husband during this shortage their experiencing he could come donate in a day to still get benefit from the coupon, I had the same nurse doing my vitals and she told me my husband is able to donate and fulfill coupon during shortage. My husband tries to schedule appt and biolife won't allow. My husband was shorted 190$ from biolife not fulfilling or honoring this coupon. Don't go to biolife coldwater road fort wayne indiana, they r crooks and poorly trained overworked staff

BioLife Plasma Services business closed due to no supplies

The biolife in middletown ohio is closed all next week due to insufficient supplies. I was a regular donor but had taken a break so I received a bonus for coming back which was $50 for 5 visits by the end of the month. However due to them being closed the last week of the month they are saying I don't get the last $50 for the bonus. Which isn't my fault they have to close due to insufficient supplies.

BioLife Plasma Services customer service

I went to your center in pasco washington andy pulse was at 103, they had me sit down and wait five minutes to see if it would go down. I'm a big guy and that place is busy and there is no way that you can lower your pulse in five minutes
I feel you should be able to donate if it's only 3 numbers above 100.
When I went in there they was rude and made me feel uncomfortable because I couldn't donate and that it's my fault. This has happened the last three times. I like to donate because it helps save life's.

BioLife Plasma Services payment issues

I am a returning donor, however I had not donated since 2014. When I came into the plasma center to donate I asked if there were any coupons for returning donors to receive more than the standard pay rate, since it had been years since my last donation. I was told by both the front desk associate and nurse that there were absolutely no coupons online or in-store that I would be eligible for. After looking online, there most certainly is a coupon and I was lied to. I feel as though the staff at the plasma center prevented me from receiving a larger payment that I was entitled to. When I called the plasma center to see if the coupon could be applied retroactively they said there was nothing they could do. I expect better of a company like biolife, you should not be purposefully telling your donors incorrect information in order to pay them less. I hope you will take this matter very seriously, as it has seriously changed my view of you as a whole. I have referred many people to you over the years, and I will no longer feel comfortable doing so if you feel it is ok to lie to your donors and prevent them from receiving a larger payment.

BioLife Plasma Services tiny little scratches on my arm - ankeny iowa

I am writing to complain about biolife service in ankeny iowa a lot of the nurses are rude. They don't know how to do their job! They blew out my wife's vains then the second time she went in told her she could give because it looked tender to them not caring what she tolled them!

Now about my problem me I my wife drive over 30 miles to donate so the money we make goes to gas. That being said when I can't give because there are tiny little scratches from doing yard work on your arm is bull #! So if you ever plan on doing yard work before donating don't because you might not be able to! Biolife in ankeny iowa is a joke!

BioLife Plasma Services the woman who did the needle puncture

The woman who did my needle puncture was rude and not trained properly.
She was rough and hurt my arm and was visibly upset when I asked for someone else.
When I went in day to finish my donation for the week I was told I needed a vain check for absolutely no reason what's so ever.
It is clear to me that this was a retaliation tactic by one of your employees at the battlefield location, I will follow up on this matter and hope to see she has been deciplined or fired, please contact me [protected] for further information as I will forward my complaint to the bbc and consumer affairs, thank you

BioLife Plasma Services nurse lying and documenting false information

Mar. 30, 2017 layton biolife
I asked a question to the girl wrapping my arm if you had to have all of the mar 30 2017 layton clinic alan, a nurse at the layton clinic, documented untruths on the computer on my records as a result of me simply asking a question regarding the saline solution. I asked the girl bandaging my arm monday, out of curiosity if you had to have the entire bag of saline. I had seen someone have gatorade and not have to have the saline. Honestly, I don't like the saline. She said she thought that you had to have half. I wondered why they had not told me over the course of a year that you only had to have half of the saline. That peaked my curiosity even more and I asked "really, you only have to have half?" she said "I don't know for sure, let me ask someone". Alan, who I since have found out was a nurse, answered that you had to have the whole bag or only got partial payment. He asked why I asked, and I said I was wondering because I didn't like it and had at one time had a problem with swelling, (which I thought was due to the saline, talked with the nurse a year ago, stopped coming so frequently, and then it stopped happening.) so, this happened a year ago for some unknown reason and I was cleared and haven't had a problem since. However, he documented on the computer that I had said to him that I had problems every time that I donated. Lie number one.

Then, when trying to make an appointment to come back to donate that thursday, there was a note stating that I needed to call to schedule. When I did I was told that I needed to just come in and talk to the nurse and they'd get me right in. I came in and alan, who didn't state he was a nurse, asked me if I knew why I was there. I stated that I had no idea. He sat at the computer and told me it was because I had stated that I had edema every time I donated. I told him that I definitely did not say that. He said that I would have to have a note from my doctor saying that I was okay. Note: I had a physical there in feb. Just weeks ago at which time I was cleared with no edema. I asked to speak to a supervisor who then after telling him the situation said I think he made it into a bigger deal than it is and left the room to talk with him. When he came back he told me that alan said that he had checked me that very day, ten minutes ago, and saw that I had pitting edema on my leg. Lie #2.

He did not examine me at all! I had no idea he was even a nurse. I only found out when I asked to see a nurse to be cleared so I could donate and be on my way.
I will not be donating plasma any longer. I don't see why I should see a doctor for a problem that I do not have to get a note stating that I do not have the problem. Especially when I was just simply asking a question as to if you had to have the entire bag of saline, I got my answer and was on my way. I had no problems with swelling at all and haven't. Why would I want to schedule an appointment for a problem I don't have. I have already had my yearly exams.
You should have a nurse identify themselves as a nurse. I thought he was the go between person before I saw the nurse. I sat in a room to see the supervisor only to have the supervisor listen to me and go in and out of the room to talk with alan. Why wasn't alan in the same room at the same time with me addressing this? Then I could have asked him to his face why he lied about checking me. What is the deal with these employees?

I feel that my time there should have been compensated. I was perfectly willing and able to donate and was not told otherwise, while trying to schedule. They didn't even check my legs if they were concerned! I actually showed my ankles and leg to the supervisor to prove that I was fine. He told me he was not a nurse. So, I said then, let me see a nurse! That was the first time that I learned that alan was actually a nurse.

BioLife Plasma Services wrongfully deferred

I had to have my dr fill out a form for sleep apnea, stating it's ok for me to donate, and a form for diabetes. I was there with my dr as he was filling out the forms, for the diabetes form I no longer needed to take medication so I told him he needed to state that on the for that i'm off medication, he said ok but forgot to do it. I told my dr and his nurse they also needed a list of my current medications but to contact me before faxing it to biolife just to make sure current meds were listed and ones no longer taking were removed. Well she never called me faxed all papers back so I had no idea what medication list had on it. Then he went on vacation for 2 weeks as did his nurse. Biolife then calls me and said because of diffrences between the information I gave them and what my dr sent to them. I stated to biolife that dr office was suppose to contact me so I could make sure information was correct. So they permantly deferred me. I asked them even if my dr contacts them taking responsibiliy for not follow the instructions I was told by biolife that he needed to write on 1 form and for not contacting me first to make sure medication list is correct, they said it wouldn't matter, I had to take the blame for his mistake and basically stated I didn't tell them about medication changes so bye bye. I told them that was a bunch of crap, unfair and wrong to be discussed about behind my back about the dr's mistake and not even give me a chance to make it right.

BioLife Plasma Services turned away over something very minor and stupid

Do not believe their website. I was approved by the doctor at biolife to donate. I am a non-smoker. I do not do drugs nor drink. I do not engage in sexual risky behavior either. I've never been through chemotherapy or given a blood donation. I have never been on the medications that would stop me from donating either.

Well a long time ago, I had an internal organ removed. You would not know from looking at me because I look normal just like everybody else. Because I had an organ removed, the doctor at biolife needed to approve it. He did approve it and I was booked an appointment to donate that following monday.

Well... I sometimes get what it called phantom pain which basically means that your brain still thinks you have the organ when you don't. I take a very small, low dose medication that gets rid of the "feeling". It is not an opiate. It is a very safe medication and I only take it as needed. The last time I took it was 3 weeks ago. I would not describe it as pain. It's a feeling of still having the organ and it only happens occasionally. That was it! I was in not in pain! The stupid nurse denied my donation even though the doctor said I was fine to donate. That's like being denied because you took tylenol for a paper cut. All because the nurse wasn't sure how to put it in the system since I was the first donor that came in with an organ removed. She had no one there to ask because it was early. I don't understand how that was my fault.

What really upset me about this is that I prepared my body several days beforehand with the appropriate hydration and foods. I was so hydrated — too hydrated and I worked hard. I even got up at 5 am so that I could be there by 6 to donate. A complete waste of time! I will never go back to this place again!
