This person is the owner of one of the biggest low quality puppy mill in California. She pretends that she is a responsible breeders, but the way her dogs are cared for is horrific. They all dirty, with eye and ear infections and it stinks with urine so bad that literally burns your eyes. Some of dogs and puppies had multiply wounds and were scratching themselve constantly. She will spray in your face of how good her dogs are and that they are sold with Heath guarantee, but after she get her money say goodbye, you are on your own and you are lucky your puppy will live after bringing it home. For all the people who plan to ship it, please run and save your nervous and money. This person should go to jail for everything she does to these poor dogs. All dogs looked underweight and very sad in little kennels for 120 lbs dogs. I didn't buy a dog from her and left crying to know how these animal leave all their life producing puppies that she can make quick buck on. During my visit I saw little puppy constantly throwing up when she said it's just normal puppy behavior when they are little. I don't believe it! Please look for a puppy somewhere else.

I am really shocked that someone would say the things about Linda that they have. I have known Linda now for 20 years at least. She is a good person and always does what is right for her dogs. I had Oscar(Best Bet and the Winner Is) for many years and he sired a few litters and he was always in the top 5 dogs in the country. She trusted me to take that wonderful animal and show him. I have been to her house many times and never once have I seen a sick puppy or puppy that was in trouble. The puppies are born next to her bed, she has a wonderful husband who loves the animals also. She does not leave them for more then short time when the are first born and she is always checking on them. I have been there and seen it in action. It is my hope that I can get another dog from her soon. I can not believe that anyone could be so short sided as to say the things they did, or have that idea of her. In my view you must have her mixed up with someone else( I have seen some kennels like that in that area). I have never smelled pee or poo at her house or kennel area. I have called her many times with questions and she has always been a big help to me. My vet even thinks that she was great. When I would take a puppy to him after I get it home they have always been healthy and full Berner fun. I am proud to call Linda Morton my friend and hope that she keeps up the good work that she has done for this breed.

I suspect that the author of this review is anti-breeder and simply trying to discredit breeders in general. Nothing in their review aligns with our experience. I have a beautiful, healthy 4 year old Berner from Linda's Candace. Our experience visiting with Linda and her dogs was excellent every time. We visited initially to check out the operation and everything was clean and the dogs were happy and in good health. We visited again after the pups were born, and they were all healthy and safely instead her home with their mother. Once they were old enough to play outside we were regular watchers of the puppy-cam and never had a moment to doubt the care and attention the puppies received. Linda was very patient with us and our questions and very professional with her handling of the financial aspects. She was also 100% transparent with the medical histories of the dam and sire going back several generations and had the documentation to back it up. I would not hesitate for a moment to return to Best Bet and get another Berner from Linda.

My family has gotten two wonderful Berners through Linda. We've been to her home (which is where she keeps and breeds her dogs) multiple times. It is nothing like described in this complaint. Both of our dogs came to us in great shape, healthy and well cared for. Linda came at the recommendation of a friend and I know others who have purchased their dogs from her. Every experience I've seen first hand tell me that she runs a top notch business. Bernese Mtn. Dogs are a breed with known health issues and Linda was up front about that when we got our first puppy.

Linda is the best! I purchased my first Berner through her and I was lucky to be her companion for almost 9 years. Anybody that is looking into getting a Berner needs to research their health issues and address them quickly! I question whether the origin negative post came from someone that actually got a puppy from Linda because all the health issues came quickly with no Vet verification. Please research your Breed and it's complications, do not blame it's Breeder!

I also disagree. I have had two superior BMDs from Linda, one who is currently 3 years old and wonderful and healthy. I have to believe this "Mike" is mixing up his breeders because Linda is well-known as a cautious, reputable, responsible and loving BMD breeder.

I'm sorry Debbie, but I believe you may be wrong. The only LIAR here may be Linda. I agree with whoever posted that this is a poor quality breeder. I got my Bernese from her about 12+years ago and I thought Linda was out of business. It was a nightmare dealing with her from the beginning. From giving away the dog we were originally supposed to get, to the blatant lies she told me from then on. My "best bet" dog ended up with elbow dysplasia, terrible allergies, numerous health issues, and died of cancer at 6 1/2. When I confronted her about the elbows, etc. she refused to return my calls. I spent a fortune on vet bills. I filed complaints with the BBB, and anyone else I could. She ended up telling the BBB she was done with this business. I'm going to revisit BBB and anywhere else I can to make sure people are aware of her. I find it amazing she is on these boards, etc with the way she handled herself during our interactions. She did seem to be all about the $ to me. -Mike.

This is the biggest bunch of BS I have ever read. All 5 of my Bernese Mountain Dogs have come from Best Bet kennels and Linda Morton. And my next dog will also come from Best Bet Kennels. All my dogs have been amazing companions and not had health issues. Currently I own an AKC Grand Champion male: Best Bet's One Hot Lil' Rascal. At seven and a half years old he is currently ranked number 4 on the AKC National Owner Handled series ranking (look it up at www.akc.org - under Events, National Owner-Handled Series (NOHS), ranking). My conformation, rally, obedience, drafting, and therapy work.

I have been to Linda kennels many times over the years. Each dog's kennel is large, has an igloo dog house. The kennels were custom built, and the entire kennel area is covered by a roof. There is a water system thst runs through the kennels, and the water is softened/filtered by their house system. The dogs get plenty of food and water. The kennels are cleaned thoroughly a couple times every day, & the dogs are regularly bathed and groomed. I have boarded my dogs there on several occasions, and would not hesitate to do it again.

Litters are welped & raised in her home. The puppies get a tremendous amount of attention and socialization. She somehow manages to train 6 week olds to use a specific area to potty. She has a web cam, so anyone can watch her litters once they are old enough to play outside during the day. Check her website out. I have never seen a sick puppy, or one with open wounds on it, or any other of the false claims that this person makes.

Additionally, I work for Sonoma County Animal Control. The Animal Control Officers do her kennel inspection EVERY year, and she always gets high marks. Also, all of her dogs are licensed (at $100 per dog), which also means they are checked by a Veterinarian and have a current rabies vaccination.

Linda's dogs are AKC Champions, and she has had dogs compete at the Westminster Kennel Club show in NY. Not only do they earn their AKC Champion titles, but they also o articipate in obedience, draft, and therapy work. She is a member of the Bernese Mountain Dog Club of Northern CA. She is on the club's Board of Directors. I believe that she is also a member of the Bernese Mountain Dog Club of America.

Puppy mill or back yard breeders don't put all this effort into their dogs. A responsible pet owner should do their own research and reference check anyway, and not take my word or this LIAR'S word about Linda or any other breeder. Research a puppy's parents health history at www.bernergarde.org.

Finally, I have known Linda Morton for over 15 years. She is honest, sincere, compassionate, and has integrity. I truly believe that she cares more for her dogs, cats, & livestock than she does for anyone or anything.

I would be more than happy to talk to anyone who has questions or concerns about Linda Morton and Best Bet kennels. You can contact me at atamywy@aol.com.

The person who made this complaint is spreading all lies, and I doubt has ever been to Linda's house. This person is hiding behind anonymity.

I gave you my e-mail address, and here's my name:
