Beformal.com.au They are real thieves!

Buyers beware! Another scam Chinese company spotted!
These people are located in China and they are selling very poor quality items. And consider yourself lucky if you get your order, because most of the people don't get anything!
I bought a dress from them and never received it and the worst part is that there is no way to get a refund. Customer service never replied and never contacted me about my order status. Guess I lost my money and there is nothing I can do to change that. Beformal scammed a lot of people, I found out this company was a scam only after I read the reviews. Too bad I haven't done that earlier.
Please do not fell for this scam, don't believe Beformal! They are real thieves and their site should be shut down!

Beformal.com.au Cheap quality dress

Ordered a dress here and the one I received was a terrible piece of junk! It was absolutely see trough and material was the cheapest ever! That was supposed to be my wedding dress but no way I would wear that garbage! It actually looked like it was made from a curtain. Are you kidding me? I paid over $300 for the dress! Emailed Beformal support and heard nothing back. Avoid this place at all costs, they are here only to take your money!

Beformal.com.au Faulty dress, non refund of payment, avoiding emails

www.beformal.com.au Warning about customer complaints – faulty garmets

The purpose of this information is to help protect others from being scammed into buying what is supposed to be quality tailored garmets through the http://www.beformal.com.au website.

http://www.beformal.com.au is very misleading in representing that it is a Australian based business…..hence the “.com.au” ending on their website but it actually is Hong Kong based.

If you look closely on the http://www.beformal.com.au website there is no contact phone number and you can only contact them via email!

Alarm bells should be ringing as businesses usually make it as easy as possible to contact them. In our experience it is to avoid disgruntled customers contacting them.

After researching and investigating http://www.beformal.com.au with Fair Trading in Australia, we have discovered this website is actually being run from Hong Kong not Australia, which means they don’t have to abide by Australian Laws . Very convenient for International based sellers to rip off honest hard working people.

Our experience with purchasing from http://www.beformal.com.au

After trying to resolve an issue with a Mother of the bride dress which we ordered online via the http://www.beformal.com.au website for $300, Beformal chose not to respond for many weeks .When they realised we were not going to stop contacting them about this issue, they kept replying asking that we provide more photos as evidence of our complaint. We emailed them photos and then they requested more, so we then took the dress to a professional photographer then emailed these and it still wasn’t good enough.
Beformal were also trying to get out of having to take the dress back and refund the money for the faulty manufactured dress as when they were responding via email they kept explaining in their emails that they cannot afford to take the $300 loss.We tried for 2 months to try resolve with Beformal directly to get no resolution.

Next step taken – contacted ASIC (Australian Securities and Investments Commission and NSW Fair Trading to investigate.

NSW Fair Trading recommended contacting the Banks Institution of the credit card we paid with to dispute the transaction. However we were warned that Hong Kong has different consumer laws and It is possible that if the seller is set up from Hong Kong that we may not be able to dispute the transaction.
So you can guess what happened next…….Beformal payment portal is set up via Hong Kong so it wasn’t possible to dispute the transaction to get this resolved.

HOW DOES THIS AFFECT YOU GETTING A REFUND OR TRYING TO RESOLVE AN ISSUE IF YOU BUY FROM WWW.BEFORMAL.COM.AU?

You have no consumer rights as your are dealing with a Hong Kong based business. You will have trouble contacting them as there is no phone contact details or return address details on their website. And if you are unlucky and do purchase a defect item and try to email them to try resolve or get a refund, you might have problems getting a response – Likely outcome, you get annoyed and fed up trying to contact them, then that’s another customer that loses out on cheaply defective dresses and you’ve been scammed.
Defects we had with our garmet

Issues with the dress
•Stitching was coming undone on the seams
•The colour differed greatly to what was advertised on the website
•The sizing was not what we ordered off the website – it was Asian sizing not western sizing
•There was glue on the dress in places it shouldn’t be. the glue was to glue the diamantes on the dress however it was on other parts of the dress.
•Poorly constructed and colour of the cotton used to sew dress together was greatly different to the colour of the fabric so stitching was very obvious
If you are trying to contact beformal about any issues the email address we were able to confirm gets through to them is

[protected]@beformal.com.au

[protected]@gmail.com

We are following up with ASIC on how a Hong Kong based business that uses a website that leads people to believe that they are purchasing expensive quality products from an Australian based business is able to have the privilege of using .com.au at the end of their website. This also leads consumers to believe that they are dealing with a reputable business that trades within Australian Consumer laws and guidelines.

We will keep you updated on progress with this line of enquiry.

100% agree
Have advised me that it is impossible to give a refund because dresses are handmade though in the same email told me they make thousands of dresses and have high quality standards. Also went on to say they are not responsible for damage (in my case missing seams and pulled stitching/lace) occurred in transit... doesn't make any sense! Still persisting though

Totally agree with this - we also got ripped off to the tune of $450 for 2 dresses. Very disappointed - and sadly unable to get any response that makes sense. I am hopeful we might get a refund, but not holding my breathe. I'll be interested to see if returning the item will get you a refund - they say that they won't accept returns unless they have approved it... :(

I have had the same problem, ordered my formal dress and was so disapointed. Looked nothing like the picture and the beads and stitching was hanging off, we emailed them and after a few weeks they blocked my email address, i used another email address and messaged them again telling them that i will not stop here and lose $250 on a dodgy dress. So i have sent the dress back and emailed proof of that to them and have told them i am expecting a full refund. I am disgusted by this how do they think that this is ok to rip off people for dodgy knock off dresses!

There is no way i am stopping here and losing out on my hard earned money.
