Truist Bank (formerly BB&T Bank) theft

BB&t is a fraud bank!

so heres what happened I had a posted balance of 500 and something dollars (mind you they posted this balance but suddenly had no records of that amount) I bought a flight ticket and my balance went down to 400 and something dollars. so then I deposit a check and when I did the math the amount I was supposed to have was 1, 400 around there so sudenly my airline ticket is still pending and it was deducted again and made my balance 1, 300 so when I called customer service and asked why they could charge me and show that pending but they couldn't find or show me the amount I had before my check went in they suddenly couldn't show me my previous balance and I couldnt find it it was no where to be found and they told me I had no proof of that ? what kind of bs is that I check my account daily how is it that all of a sudden they can't show me the previous balance I had before i depostied my check but they can show the amount before I went and purchased my check its a gap of missing transactions and they can't find them now that I'm asking for them and they are telling me I have no proof of that

Truist Bank (formerly BB&T Bank) business loans

Once upon a time we went to bb&t for a business loan. A solid business plan, well organized, great payback, even supported by business development types and local government people. Four months later we are still repetitively answering the same questions, typically with "that's on page one of the financial plan" or my personal favorite, "yes, we have already provided that". At least 5 or 6 times now we have been told "that's all we'll need", which has never been the case. Shortly we'll have our last group hug to formally fire them - oh, and hey - the city no longer wants to do business with you, and our third partner (Who arranges 10 to 50 million dollar loans at breakfast) will also not be choosing bb&t for an expansion into georgia. This was the most completely unprofessional display of gross incompetence I have seen in my entire business life, and i'm quite a geezer. Avod these idiots at all costs!

my wife was employed by BB&T, they acquired bank atlantic whom she worked for, she missed one day in 15 years, three weeks ago she was released because they said her sales numbers were not up to par in fact she told them that she would not participate in their deceptive sales practices, she was put on notice and fired . They give you something without disclosing the fees and when you complain they have a disclosure form that you have signed when you open your accounts ... they are crooks commmom thieves

Truist Bank (formerly BB&T Bank) account in negative/never got money back

On the 6th of december 2014 (which was a saturday) i ordered some pizza off my debit card. However before i ordered the pizza my balance in my account was about $185. So everything went through as far as transaction wise goes but pizza hut canceled the order and called me and let me know that they canceled it because they just saw that my area was a no delivery zone. Since it was after 12 on a saturday i knew the bank that i branch with was already closed by now so i waited to call them because i wanted to see if it was still going to say pending or if it was going to still take the money out. So monday i called the walmsley branch in richmond because when i awoke i got a text from my bb&t debit card letting me know that my new posted balance...not my available balance but my posted balance is about $153 which if you do the math that means the money was taken out. Because the $25.80 would not have been in the negative under debit and it did not have the pending letter next to it anymore so i called and spoke with the only black lady at that branch and i explained to her the situation. She looked in my account and saw that i had -$25.80 and it was not pending anymore it was actually taken out. So that lady was very apologetic about the situation so she said she will hand the issue over to her manager and have them call me back. I did not get a call back all week so i waited till friday to call them again because i wanted to give the manager time to look at the issue but when i called i was redirected again but again they agreed that they saw my issue in the system. So i still dont get a call all next week so i call them again but on that saturday morning and spoke with ms. Guadalupe who works at the walmsley branch and she was so nasty to me. I explained that someone was working on my case and she explained to me very nastily that there is not even any transactions on that day showing up in my account. I remind you i had 2 other transactions from earlier that day on the 6th from family dollar and the bp gas station and those are no longer there either. She could not explain to me why that was...so she continues to tell me either way if it was the banks fault or pizza hut (the store i ordered from that day) i was not getting any money back because as long as its not in there system they are not obligated to refund any money even if it was taken out. But i told her i still had the screenshots of my account where and when the money was taken out and it shows that the money wasnt pending anymore it was actually taken out so it didnt just drop off my account on its own because i wouldve had the original amount i started with before i ordered the pizza i never got. And she replied "oh well since its not in the system we dont have to pay you, your pictures dont mean anything unless its in our system" and hung up on me. So i called corporate with the complaints and explained to them the issue and they apologized and said they were going to have aomeone look into it. I got a call that tuesday and they basically told me since my account no longer shows record of this incident they cant do anything but assume that it dropoed off and nothing was taken out...even though i have proof all they could say is assume. So im thinking about banking with someone else because they give me the run around and im not gaining any money im losing it with them and they dont care. Now i have these hold adjustments on my checks but im being debited larger amounts of money that doesnt even add up to what i actually spent so theres another complaint.

Truist Bank (formerly BB&T Bank) fraud

BB&T-Wilmington, NC accused me of fraud after my computer was hacked and my debit card and other information was stolen. After my computer was hacked someone used my info to go on an online shopping spree leaving the account with a negative balance. BB&T told me if I could not prove I was hacked (Like I know how to do that!) they would pursue charges against me. They threatened me for $114! They said if I paid the $114 in 7 to 10 days they would not pursue charges. Now, I don't know about any you, but where I come from that's called extortion!

Truist Bank (formerly BB&T Bank) erroneously charded overdraft fees

My mechanic erroneously charged my checking account twice for a repair he made to my vehicle. Of course, this caused my account to be over-drafted as it was almost $350. The vice president of my local branch refused to refund the overdraft fee and stated' "this is not BB&T's fault, it's your mechanic's fault. Since we're not at fault, we do not have to remove it." It obviously was not my fault either, yet the VP did not want to help in anyway. I was a customer with them for 15 years. I will be taking my business elsewhere from now on.

Truist Bank (formerly BB&T Bank) overdraft charge

I stopped at a BB&T ATM and tried to make a deposit into my checking account. I received the following message: this function isn't available at this time. Approximately 1/2 hour later I tried again and received the same message. The bank deducted $35.00 for a bounced check. Went to local BB&T branch and spoke to an officer. I was told that it would be reversed within 24 hours. They never reversed the fee. BB&T must donate a ton of money to the politicians and lobbyists as BBT seems to have an open license to steal money from client accounts without clients having any recourse. Naturally, I'm reporting this to the Better Business Bureau and the State Attorney General's office. We must stop this flagrant theft. They illegally deduct money for bounced check fees only to cause other checks to bounce due to the money they withdrew! The reputation of banks has most certainly fallen to that of "Used Car Dealers" and "Lawyer's." What bothers me most is our wonderful government allows these illegal fees to be deducted!

I was charged numerous overdraft fees for debit card purchases on thursdays when my husbands check was deposited at midnight on wednesday they would take the fees out before they would deposit the money I refuse to pay all those fees. This is just a form of robbery so the banks can make money.

The answer is simple. Instead of spending every penny, keep $100 in your account. Then if you slip up by $2, you still have $98 and no overdraft fees. The BBB already knows that some people cannot manage money and will try to make deposits just in time to avoid fees. Why would you gamble in a game that you can only lose?

Truist Bank (formerly BB&T Bank) dodd frank violation

BB&T sent me a letter stating "new regulations" require them to send me a monthly statement for my P&I only fixed mortgage and that my current rate, amount, & due date will not be effected by the change.

The statement said: $0 past due amount, and a new higher payment due in 10 days because of Admin fees.

So, I personally met at BB&T with their rep. He called someone on the phone (later another customer who overheard my shouting said it was probably his girlfriend because he does it all the time). This "someone" refused to identify herself and refused to discuss it with me. So, the rep spoke with her for about 5 minutes and told me that she said the higher amount was due to a "recurring late fee" from 2000. He told me this in April 2014 and the letter clearly states $0 past due and my payment has not changed. I again asked him whom he was speaking with and to show me documentation of these "new regulations." He said, they will mail something.

Now it is over 10 days and according to the Dodd-Frank act, section XIV, Subtitle E, BB&T is in violation for refusing to answer my questions, changing the terms of my mortgage, and charging unreasonable fees.

This mortgage has been paid by automatic draft for over 10yrs.Also, many of my neighbors in the same subdivision with BB&T mortgages have the same letter. Not that it matters, but my regular bank (not BB&T) has provided me with a certified copy of every payment which was never late.

This bank just loves to charge fees on your account. They charged us $70, because our balance went $0.32 into the negative. Sure, from a purely technical point of view if the account overdrawn they can charge you, but this is excessive. Get your money out of their hands, before they try to take it from you.

I recently stopped into my local BB&T here in Asheville to cash a paycheck. The only reason I went into this bank in teh first place was because the check I had was written on a BB&T account. This was an official BB&T check and they charged me $6 to cash it. I have never heard of such a thing! How can there be a charge from the bank on a check from that same bank? Bull Crap! I just hate them even more now.

BBT have deceived customers by only posting $100 of a deposit and only posting the rest a day later. This resulted in 2 overdrafts for my account costing me fees of $70. When I complained I got this long explanation of a minute by minute description of when a deposit is made, when I can expect it to clear etc. BBT wants you to remember the exact times of transactions, something they use a computer for! So much for customer service.

They are a rip off and do your transaction and deposit when they want which causes hundreds in fees. This is crazy. I advise everyone to stay far away from them. Most normal banks do transaction as they come in not 2 or 3 days later or just to decide which ones to process first in order to get most $'s in fees out of you. This is wrong very wrong. Lets band together to stop them.

My HELOC was maturing I got a notice two weeks before. Certainly not enough time to gain financing. I immediately called BB&T. They were not friendly but gave me a loan officers name and number. After a couple months of back and forth providing documents and being told I couldn't just refinance my 2nd I had to refi both I got an email that I was declined because the loan had lapsed. Not a reason for a declination nor have I gotten a declination notice. I am also being charged 250.00 late fee possibly monthly and was told this was now going against my credit. Have never been late or missed a payment AND continued to pay while application was in process. I am a single woman working 2 jobs now in fear of losing my home.

It appears you have unrealistic expectations for your bank. In this regard, maybe you should try do transactions, or ask questions in person. That's an old-fashion way of soing business a d it doesn't cost me anything. To many customer expect way to much from the bank through the phone!

BB&T in Florida switched identities, forced signing of mistake laden documents - refused to show up at closings/ remediation at title company, filed false fines and fees, fee piles on top of fraud fees, misrepresented mortgages, engaged in fraudclosure and used unethical/criminal brokers. Truist Bank (formerly BB&T Bank) stealing

We joined bb&t "bad bankers & thieves" a few months ago.We chose to sign up for their overdraft protection as a precautionary measure. After getting hit with overdraft charges of 71.00 ea. we decided to stop the overdraft protection "opted out" and were told that this will eliminate ANY overdraft charges. This was a month ago. We received notice today of an overdraft charge for 36.00. I called to find out why and was told that the ONLINE banking program had tried to transfer money to our savings, while there was no money in our checking and since there was no money in our checking we got hit with the charge. THIS TO ME SOUNDS LIKE PLANNED THEFT. I talked with the manager who very rude and not helpful AT ALL.She said it was their way of doing business and we would not get the money back.

I reported bbt to consumer advocacy because they returned a check when there was money in the account. They returned the $36 dollar over draft fee to me. Since then whenever I have been low on funds they have overdrawn me in fees. Ie: I had two credit card charges equalling $15 and some change, had $20 in my account when they were done charging the fees I was a - $68. In the last month they have stolen over $500 in bogus charges. Last night they returned a check in the amount of $347 claiming insufficient funds, yet according to the balance I have $659.41 in my account with there being $26.73 in pending transactions. Why did they return this? Because they are vindictive sob's and count on people just accepting this from their bank, because if you don't they will threaten you by telling you they will turn you into cheque system. This bank needs to be stopped now! If anyone knows a good consumer advocacy attorney I would appreciate hearing from you. I run a small business and can't afford to have my money stolen from an organization who is "entrusted" to protect it. They seem to have forgotten the money in their bank is not their money, it is ours. They seem to be taking a page from the government who also seem to have forgotten this is the land of the free and they work for us, not the other way around! Especially the office of presidency is nothing more than a temp job. Dictators (ie: Obama) will not be tolerated any more than banks stealing from the people who bank with them!

Truist Bank (formerly BB&T Bank) loss mitigation

I recently applied for loss mitigation assistance. I applied in April and finally received an answer in September. I don't qualify and I need to sell my home. My Processor's was Kevin Smith and Tericka Wilson. Tericka left on medical leave I had to deal with Kevin who proceeded to tell me that Tericka didn't know what she wa s doing. I spoke with his manager Tarena Cloud. She was just a rude as kevin. they both told me to sell my home. I was looking for a realtor because I received a letter from BB&T telling me they will give me money for selling my home. I ran across his name on this website http://www.kw.com/kw/agent/kevinsmithhomes. I called and asked another representive and they said that he use to be a realtor but no longer active. I checked with the company and he is still practicing. Is this why BB&T wouldn't help me?

Truist Bank (formerly BB&T Bank) home loan

A couple of years ago, I got behind on my home loan when my husband was out of work. I tried to pay extra to get caught up once he was working again, but BB&T put the money into a "holding account" and charged me late fees on payments I had made. I finally got tired of not getting credit for the payments. I was getting calls from the company everyday about being behind, most while I was at work putting my job at risk. I talked with someone who offered me a payment plan where I could pay extra w/o so many fees, but when she took down my income and expenses, she said I did not have enough money left over and even if I did, I would have to pay more than the monthly payment every 15 days. She recommended that I submit a request for a loan modification. After about 20 weeks, I received a notice that I was in default which prompted me to call and find out that the modification application was denied because I make too much money! Are you kidding me? Now my good credit is ruined. If I lose my house, I will not be able to buy another! Oh, and I could go on and on about the poor customer service issues. Just today, I received mail from them and called only to be told that I can disregard the mail because it came fom a different department of the same company! Are you kidding me?!

BB&T jumped my mortgage payment to almost triple the original amount. When I contacted them they informed me my homeowners insurance policy was the reason for the increase, I then contacted my homeowners insurance to find out that there had been an increase but not as much as what BB&T had said it was. I am still trying to resolve this problem because of the increase in payment I haven't been able to afford the monthly payments.

Truist Bank (formerly BB&T Bank) adjustment case# [protected] adjustment

After rolling over as a previous banking client of colonial bank, bb&t has used ambiguous language leading to available account balance confusion. Terms that come across such as daily balance for email alerts falsely state account balances that excludes the previous day (S) transactions; however, this last event has sent me over the edge. I have been charged a adjustment fee of $300. 00 dollars leaving my account overdrawn, as i am still rising to achieve a great paying job. Nevertheless, this behavior is egregious, and i am seeking the opportunity to join a class action lawsuit.

Truist Bank (formerly BB&T Bank) posting deposits / over draft fees

Are there any lawyers out there reading these as I think you have good fees lawsuit here for a bank. When I read the sign on the ATM it says "Funds may not be available until the next business day" So, if I make a deposit over the weekend I think it is all available on Monday. NO, according to Phelisha McCoy, a customer account customer service manager, they do not post the entire amount until early Tuesday morning. That is not the business day. She told me that it would not matter if I depositted using the ATM, Electronic or using a real person (teller). So I ended up with $140 + in overdraft fees for being $15 overdrawn. I called and it took over 2 days for someone to call me back. I stopped my direct deposit and my 401k going to this bank. Phelisha got angry and raised her voice at me when I was staying calm and asking if there was someone else I could speak with or if she had a manager. She would not even give me her supervisors name. When I told her I had stopped my direct deposit as I am willing to pay one overdraft fee as I deserve that, but not the many they charged, she said very snotty like, that is up to you. Making me feel like they do not value any part of their customers. I told her that I may not be the only one to misunderstand the sign on the ATM's and they may want to change the wording. She really did not care and was ready to hang up on me. She made me feel dumb and a low life. I have accounts at other banks and if I make a deposit over the weekend the entire amount is depositted on Monday. Before Debits. Why are they different? I think a lawyer should look into it and let them know they do not treat their normal consumers well. I get an employee match and am really punishing myself by stopping 401k but I don't think a bank with this kind of scrupples should play with any of my money.

I think you should put on your big boy/girl undies and READ the terms of the account that you agreed to when you opened the account. EVERY bank works like this unless you are depositing CASH. Every. Single. One.

Truist Bank (formerly BB&T Bank) fraud

A BB &T teller allowed someone who is not an authorized signer on my account to go into a branch and cash a teller check. They have not been helpful a t all since this occurred. They told me it could take up to two weeks before it gets assigned to an investigator and they will not put the money back in the account until after the investigation is complete, however long that takes. This is entirely their fault yet they will not take responsibility. What a horrible way to do business. I will never bank with BB&T again!

Truist Bank (formerly BB&T Bank) fraudulent change of address

Bbt bank without consent knowledge or documentation started sending our bank statements to and address we have never requested or resided we have filed numerous complaints but bbt will not admit fault. They even wanted to charge us 2 dollars for every time we called trying to get answers needless to say we closed our account. But they said we didn't and continued to charge bank fees until we were overdrawn on account we had removed our money. They turned it over to collections so, now we were getting harassed by a collection agency. Bbt maintained that they change addresses based on Verimove not what I or my husband had told them and I should take it up with The Postal Service. Even though I and my husband had been in the bank trying to fix the problem they continued to send our statements there. If anyone can help please do. [protected]@hotmail.com

I have filed complaints with The state banking commission with no result also with the Ftc.office of the comptroller, cfpb, fdic, state attorneys office and with the postal service. Bbt offered us one year of credit monitoring. Too late. My husbands identity was stolen over a year ago and I also filed a complaint with the bbb who has given bbt an A + rating. I have done the work but no one seems to care until it happens to them. Also the name listed on the account wasn't my husbands name.

On September 4th, BB & T Bank subtracted three transactions from my checking account that were pending. Well, lo and behold, the very next day, they subtracted the same three transactions AGAIN as they were processed. And because, of this, I was charged overdraft fees. I know this sounds unheard of, but I have the bank print-outs, the proof. I contacted the FDIC and they are investigating. And yes, I contacted customer service, plus spoke to two bankers and I was told there was nothing they could do. I was told that the "computer" would not let them give me any refunds. Unreal.

Truist Bank (formerly BB&T Bank) posting deposits

I would just like to say that I just received an iphone, the newest one, and I was very excited to download Mobile Banking and I was especially excited to have the ability to deposit checks with my new phone. I thought it would be so convenient. After using this feature twice now I can honestly say I will probably not be using it in the future unless there is no way I can get to a branch to make a deposit. The thing I do not like about it is that there is a 3-5 day hold for all of these deposits. Sometimes I need my money sooner. I was especially unhappy that one of the deposits I made was with a check I had been given for a rental payment and that check was actually drawn on a BB&T account and I still had to wait 3 days. The lady that gave me the check said it cleared her account that night but I waited 3 days to get my money. That makes no sense. I called about it and the lady who was not very pleasant at all, said that's right. If I wanted my money into my account sooner I should just take it to the bank in person. Really? Great customer service. I told my daughter who was going to try making her deposits this way not to use this feature. We have a neighbor who banks with another banking institution and she told us her deposits made with her phone are deposited the next day just as if she went to the bank personally. She does not have that wait. BB&T really needs to do better if they want to offer Mobile Banking especially if the competition is doing a better job. Do they need to hire more knowledgeable techs? Maybe! Until they make some changes I will not be using or recommending Mobile Banking with BB&T.

Truist Bank (formerly BB&T Bank) fraud

To Whom It May Concern, On Sept 10th, 2012, I took a check into our local BBT branch. I had recently been hired, over the internet, to work for a man, who claimed to have a house in our town, that needed a private housekeeper. When I entered my bank, I approached the teller, and told her this was a new customer and would like to deposit through her. She told me of a two day hold, and processed the, later to find out, BAD check. We filed police reports, and contacted BBT's fraud department...there still was, at the time, a way to possible catch this person, as he had asked me to deposit yet another check. Today is the 5th of October, same year, and we have yet to speak to anyone at BBT. Oh, yes...but we are getting notices from them, regarding the negative 2900.000, that we have . Can someone lease tell me, why is this our fault? We trust our bank to look out for our, and their best intrest. This has not been done. Why is there a fraud dept., if no one investigates, or follows through ? This internet predator, is still out there. Please tell us where to turn. Thank you, Karla Miles

Truist Bank (formerly BB&T Bank) stole our money

My husband apparently owed BB&T money "supposedly". When we opened up our bank account the very FIRST DAY they charged us an overdraft fee. Good luck paying your bills with this bank because they charge you overdrafts because they go by the 'initiation' date of a f*ng charge and not when it actually hits the account.

We asked for a return of that fee. Whatever. They did it.

NOW this week, I look on and they stole $145.00 recovery fee. Swore up and down that my husband owed them this money but they could show no proof whatsoever. Now, we were hit with $175.00 in overdraft fees for 5 little charges ($28, 14, 12, and 4) and their large $145.00 stolen fee.

I contacted them. Of course I'm upset. They won't return ANY of the fees to us. They hung up in my face GREAAT CUSTOMER SERVICE ISNT IT? They won't give me a valid claims department number so I can dispute the $145.00 charge. They won't send us a copy of proof showing he owed the money.

We are SO done with this bank. I will curse them till the day they close their business. My beautiful daughter whom I can't afford any food for or formula now (nor can we get groceries or pay our bills because of the f*ing $294 they are stealing from us in the end due to all the fees). My beautiful daughter will be there the day your business closes and she'll be rooting with me.

Thieving sons of a bankers.

AVOID this bank at all costs.
