I did a wire transfer using bank of america in baltimore MD johns hopkins branch to my own account in India using SWIFT codes. I was told that india is a slow to pay country and it takes about 3 weeks and no investigations would be don't till then. It has been 2 and a half months and it hasn't gone through. My bank in india has not received any information regarding this from bank of america and the bank of america is not willing to help. Every time i contact them they tell me that they are sending e-mail to the bank in india to find the status and that the money is in india and nothing can be done about it and it is possible that i lose my money. I have no clue as to how to go about it.

Bank of America just jacked up their rates in the middle of a billing cycle. When they did so they also made the interest increase retroactive to past purchase we were still paying off. Not sure this is even legal. Since when purchased made they made with an agreed upon interest rate and now they have almost doubled that. Plus to be honest, their in bank customer service is the worst. Not the fault of the tellers, there just aren't ever enough employees around to do the job. 20 minutes in line to get a bank draft is ridiculous.

Here is one story of my bad experiences with Bank of America. I do not trust them as far as I can throw them but I somehow think in the back of my head that they may do the right thing. I am WRONG every time. A little background before I go into the complaint. I bought a house 12 years ago when the housing market still was inflating its bubble. Well, the loan that I used has bounced all over to different banks and finally landed at Countrywide for a while. Then Bank of America bought out Countrywide so my loan is now with them. I cringed hard the first time I found out about it because of having bad experiences before. So anyway, I am now in the process of short selling the house because of moving to anther city. I tried selling it but because of the obvious housing bubble bursting, the house is upside down in the mortgage. So now I have to short sell it and as we all know the only way to get the process started is to stop paying the mortgage for 3 months before the bank will take any offer seriously. So I am on my 4 th month now and waiting for the paperwork to go though to finish the process. All of this controlled by Bank of America.

Sorry for such elaborate backround but had to explain to get to where my complaint is. I got a credit card from Bank of America several years ago because of a ridiculous interest rate offer they sent me but I set it aside and used it once for a balance transfer and eventually paid it off and set it aside again. I get a balance transfer checks every month from them trying to get me to use the account more often. I finally reached a point where I wanted to use the 6 month 0% interest for a balance transfer from my Sears credit card. So I call them and initially they could not even find my account in their system but finally they found it. Well at the same time I guess the information showed up on my mortgage being behind in payments. The guy decides he must do an immediate evaluation of my income and grill me on what is happening with my mortgage. I am getting irritated by this since this should have nothing to do with my credit card that is in good standing and an offer that they sent me, but I go along for the ride figuring there would be some sense in the end and I would get my balance transfer. WRONG! They did an instant rejection of my balance transfer and the only reason they had to stand on was that it was company policy. They could never explain the connection between my credit card account and my mortgage account but somehow it is there. I could run up my credit card with expenses right now if I wanted but I can't do a balance transfer because they don't like the fact they are going to lose money on a short sale. Just remember that this was one of the banks that NEEDED to be bailed out with our tax money and so soon they forget the small guy coming to them for any kind of help. WELL FORGET IT. They have made it their policy to screw THEIR CUSTOMERS any way they can.

STAY CLEAR OF BANK OF AMERICA AT ANY COST, IF YOU CAN, BECAUSE IF YOU HAVE TO RELY ON THEM EVER, THEY WILL NOT BE THERE. PERIOD! but they will take handouts from the goverment any day of the week.

My father is 95 years old - my mother passed away 2 1/2 years ago. There is a home equity loan with the Bank of AMERICA that has been serviced with my parents savings. My father is running out of money and the monthly income was reduced almost 50% when my mother passed. I called the number that is on the flyer each month with the mortgage payment coupon to try and discuss loan modification solutions. After being placed on hold for over 15 minutes I was finally connected with a mortgage "specialist". I asked where she was located and was told she was in Costa Rica. THAT'S RIGHT -- COSTA RICA. When I asked to speak with someone in the U.S. because I wanted to protect American jobs - I was told there is no one else to speak to; her supervisor was also located in COSTA RICA. Am I the only one that thinks this is disgusting? This what we get from the likes of Ken Lewis and Brian Moynihan.

Hello,

I am no longer in USA from last 1 year. One day while checking my accounts I realized Bank of america charging me monthly fee from many months. I did not like it at all and contacted them.

My money was deducted for many months but refund was provided for just 1 month. Adding to woes, I was not even provided any good solution and money kept on deducting from my account. We expect while we are away at least our bank will take care of our money, I realized their goal was to empty my account gradually ...
Not Good.

Usually service representative should themself change account transfers so that customer do not suffer, it did not happen. Instead I was explained conditions and was blamed I did not listen to policy while opening account.

We expect service should be provided the way its provided when they find a new customer. Else this bank would end up losing their customers.

Please close my account.

Thank you.

We got overdraft in our BOA account and instead of them letting us know they charged us $35 for every transaction! Most of which were between $2-$5 transactions! My husband calculated that for $22 in overdraft they charged us $250! I do all my banking online and check it every couple of days! When I checked it the morning before it was fine! We called them and they stated that it kept letting us post transactions with our debit card because the payments were pending at the time they were run as credit. So the next day we end up paying nearly $250 in fees! We finally got notices in the mail a week after they had already charged us. They couldn't call us and let us know. I am PISSED! And I will deffinitely change the bank!

Short background first: in the fall of 2017 I opened a MyAccess checking account with B of A during a local promo in my community when a new branch was opened. I was promised no monthly maintenance fee without any conditions attached. However, after several months I noticed a $5.95 fee on my statement. I called the lady who opened my account for me and she did waive the fee for me - temporarily. It's back with a vengeance and she has left the bank so no one is willing to believe or help me now.

In February 2017 I started an email campaign to plead my case again. After 8 emails from me and 8 replies from B of A, I'm angrier than I ever was. They NEVER answer my questions directly. Rather, they keep repeating what they have said before without resolving anything. They suggested I open another account online to qualify for no fee that way, which I did. Then I get an email telling me about my monthly fee of %5.95 if I don't have a direct deposit set up. So I emailed them again and questioned it. The idiots told me that since I had opened the account in Dallas, Texas and not online, I wasn't eligible for the fee waiver. What? By now I'm about to have a stroke, but I keep trying to get an answer from them so I write again and reiterate that I did not open it in Dallas because I live in San Antonio, and that I was promised a no-fee/no-conditions account for opening it online. Guess what? I got a reply this time and the rep tells me that they have requested a fee waiver for me but I'll have to reapply each year to keep the waiver. I know I've lost my mind because I wrote again and asked why I have to reapply if I was promised no fee with an online account. You guessed it...the dolts tell me the same garbage again with NO explanation as to why this is happening.

So much for trying to work it out. I quit. I have told everyone I know to avoid B of A at all cost, and I am closing both accounts before they take another $5.95 away from me. Yes, I've printed out every one of the ridiculous emails in case I need them some day. I also plan to use this real-world experience to teach my students how NOT to run a business (I'm a business teacher). I plan to use them often and I will NOT be blacking out the Bank of America name on the papers!

Well I was told some information about the Process of there transactions (pending, cleared and fees). Next thing I know I do exactly what he told me I could do with the account and I was charged 6 overdraft fees for pending transactions and I had my direct deposit pending. Now when I call in they told me that there was nothing I could do about it. There rep gave me the all the bad info I could have and I am forced to pay the charges because of him. They do not and will not fix the situation that was occured from there rep. Watch out, there customer service sucks. Stay far away. They are not worth the trouble.

I transferred money from my savings account to my checking account on a Friday and they did not post it until Tuesday. Since they did this (there is no reason why as it was an account to account transfer) my account was overdrawn and they had no problem charging me over $100. These people are crooks and I think that everyone that uses them should switch banks. I will be. My family has bank with them since before they were Bank of America and has over $100, 000 in different accounts. You would think they would be more interested in keeping customers, but apparently not.

No one else should ever set up an account with Bank of America . They should have been one of the businesses that folded. Instead they used the government money to turn around and rip everyone off as often as possible. They labeled us as a high risk and increased our interest rate from9% to 37%. And then said we could take out a consolidation loan, through them mind you, to fix it. Any one and everyone should pull bank of America accounts immediately before they get you!

I am getting married in October 2017. I have been preparing financially by moving debt around and paying off as I should. I have never been late on a payment and I have been a loyal Bank of America customer with two credit cards, a checking account and an auto loan with them. I recently was helping out my sister with her debt so I had taken it onto my initial Bank of America platinum credit card. To align my debt properly I moved her debt to a different credit card company with my parents and moved my debt to a new Bank of America Cash rewards card (second card). In the process of the balance transfers I had asked Lisa Bird (approximately a week before I post this) to swap the credit lines on my credit cards. Not only did she not swap the credit lines specifically stating that I had debt on the platinum Visa - which I had demonstrated to her that was in the process of being moved - but she called out for both of my credit lines to be lowered! I received the letters today April 21, 2017 of these actions; with no notice on the phone conversation with her. This was obviously infuriating and detrimental to my financial position, both long term (mortgage loan when married) and short term (wedding expenses). I was capped out because of Lisa Bird's failure to pay attention to details. Moreover, I was approved not even a month before for the Cash Rewards credit card for that limit, and now all of a sudden WITH LESS DEBT I had become liability? Today I called Courtney from Phoenix Bank of America and she was very helpful even after my ill choice of words. She was able to help but not put me in the position I once was and more importantly, should be in. If anything, I should have an even higher credit limit for controlling my debt properly (and of course having a high credit score and being a good customer).

As a side note, a separate online chat involving a salesperson Sara was chock full of misinformation about authorized users and credit scores. The same type of misinformation that could lead to very serious credit issues.

I will not rest until I am back to par.

I have had a credit card with Bank of America for several years with no problem. Recently, my interest rate was increased with a credit line of $21, 500, plus large minimum payments. When I received my September statement, I paid it off in the full amount which was posted to my account 2 days before the due date. I just received an October statement charging me periodic finance charge of $42.76. I called customer service, was on hold for at least 10 minutes, then transferred to a customer "manager" who spoke with a strong accent that I was unable to understand and had to ask him to slow down and speak more clearly. He said the finance charges were because I had not paid the account in full the previous month? I do not understand this, it's probably written in the small print of the massive "terms" that I was too ignorant to understand in the first place. I'm going to send them my $46.76 but I can promise them, I will never use their credit card again and I will tell as many people as I can about my experience with Bank of America. What they have done, is totally unethical. Isn't it nice the bailout money was given to them so they could stay in business and continue to take advantage of their customers. I hope there are enough customers taking their business somewhere else that it will make an impact.

Just like everyone else, Bank of America is inconsiderate and doesn't own up to its own mistakes. My fees were much less than most people, but it's the principle of the things that really gets me.

I was signed up for automatic payments on 2 credit cards for six months, and suddenly for some inexplicable reason, the payments didn't go through this month. I didn't find out until two weeks after they were due because I was so busy with everything else. I called and the woman *said* she fixed it--had me pay this month AND next month's payments on both cards (ouch), as well as removed the late fees. Alright, fine. But of course a few days later I check my account and the late fees were never removed. So I emailed BOA and whoever responded thankfully removed the two $40 charges (I hardly make any money with my job, so 80 bucks is a lot). He said to "Please remember that this adjustment is a courtesy, and may not be waived in the future." So I emailed them back to make a point—that it was NOT my fault and the fees were NOT applied correctly. I said they should not penalize customers for relying on a service that they provide and promote. He responded with, “We understand your concern. Please note that our system shows that the late payment fee was correctly assessed and because of your great history we remove it as a courtesy. Allow us to inform you that we use the word courtesy since the fee was applied correctly. We appreciate your understanding in this matter.” The two emails were responded by two different people, naturally.

How as the fee applied correctly when I had automatic payments? That's BOA's responsibility, not mine. And they should have informed me that my payments did not go through if they can see I have signed up for automatic payments. I’ve never been late or skipped a payment before in the years I’ve been using a credit card. When I pay off these cards, I’ll do my best to never use them if I can help it, or switch to a different bank.

I have been a Bank of America customer for over ten years but that all ended this month. I have never in ten years ever overdrawn my account however two weeks ago I went onto my online banking and I was charged 210.00 in fees for 25.00 in the negative. Now here's the kicker, if you look at my balance, I was never negative. When I spoke to someone they kept directing me to look at a link that shows your available balances. When I asked how, if I never cashed anything against my account or made a deposit that needed to clear could there be a difference in my available and current balance. Not one of their employees had an answer for that. They just continued to spit out the same script that they were clearly reading. I then asked to speak to a supervisor and I was told that the best they could do for me was one fee rebate.

The best part of this entire story is how BOA released a statement to the press saying that they were going to adapt the new overdraft rules, set federally, before they were even mandated to. Yet, the transactions they charged me for were all POS transactions, which is exactly what this new law prohibits them from doing.

Needless to say, I closed all of my accounts with them and I will continue to tell anyone about my experience with them.

What can I say except that I am very disappointed with Bank of America. I have been serving in the military for 18 years now and during that time I have had a credit card with BOFA 14 years of it. I have not once from what I can remember being late or overdrawing from this credit card at all. Yesterday I had a reservation at a hotel for a Navy business trip I had to attend. I paid $200 on my card to make sure that I was covered for this trip 2 days prior. When I arrived to check in my card was declined. Upon calling the 1800# the payment STILL HAD NOT POSTED! So at that time I wanted to speak to a customer service rep. After waiting for 25 minutes (Now my Verizon card had ran out) I finally got to speak to someone. I requested if they can please speed up the process of my payment so I may check in with the hotel. Then the Rep once again put me on hold to speak to a analyst. Once he came on he asked me all these questions most interesting enough was what my occupation was. Once I told him he said “We at Bank of America really appreciate your service”. Then proceeded to prod me on some older credit card issues that I had in the past with other companies and one I had never heard of (need to look at my credit report). After I explained some of the issues with him I ask what does that have to do with the payment I made to your card? Then he tells me he is doing a credit review………………….. Really? So after he says that he puts me on hold again only to come back and say” Mr. ------we see that you have a great history with us. But due to the fact that you have 2 or more delinquent cards on your record we are terminating your credit effective immediately”. I was in pure shock I literally said nothing at all for at least 20-30 seconds. Here I am in the middle of the travel and Bank of America left me high and dry in a bad moment. Not we will be terminating your account in a week or month…but at that same moment when I needed it the most. My credit limit on the card was only $400 and I paid 200 on it. I never had been late with payments to them. THEY HAVE THE NERVE TO SAY TO ME “We at Bank of America really appreciate your military service”. Obviously not… Because if you did they would not do that to me or anyone else that is associated in protecting their freedom on a daily basis. I truly want to let my fellow military brothers and sisters know that BOFA really does not care two cents about your sacrifices for this country. Take your business elsewhere because if they can do it to me (18 years in) they will defiantly do it to you and your loved ones. I might also add that this is just not for my military brothers and sisters this is also to all the Americans that have or might do business with BOFA.

I went to Bank of America in December to close my account because I am not living in the country right now, and they do not have a sister branch where I am living. The teller withdrew my money from my savings and checking account, and handed me my money. The other day person handling my mail received a notice from Bank of America stating that I owe $14.03. It said that when I withdrew the money I did it by 3 cents, and there a maintenance fee of $14. I called the bank, and told them that I closed the account that I shouldn't have to pay. The rep stated that I overdrew the account by 3 cents, and that I have to pay a maintenance fee because the account is not closed. I told the representative that I went in, closed the account, and their rep is the one that pulled the money. She said that she will cancel the $14, but I still have to pay the 3 cents.

my husband checking account was charged a 35 dollar fee for his account being negative .42 cents for 7 days, we were told by the bank tellers that unless it was over $10.00 he would not be charged an overdraft fee, now they are saying if it is under 10.00 you have 5 days to put the funds in your account, which we were NEVER told, bank of america says they are willing to lose a cust over a .42 cent over draft, with a baby on the way we cant afford for people to lie to us about what fees we will or will not be charged.

The interest rates of my credit Card were raised from 9% to 28% because I was 1 day late on my payments. I've been paying on time for 1 year and a half. The bank refuses to reduce the interests even though I reduced the debt in half.

When I first opened the account and ask for a stop payment on a check, and I was told by a csr that the check would be stopped! I went to use my atm card, it denied my request, because the check went through anyways. The only thing that bank of america could tell me was we apologize. Myself not knowing that if I did not use the card, that Bank of America would keep adding fees onto my account, anyways the balance was 400.00 and some odd dollars. Then, come to find out it was still on my credit unpaid. Not only that, i wasn't able to have online banking and more and more and more money kept coming out of my account, of so called insufficient funds, when I even would make sure and put what money I was told by a representive to put in to keep from having any insufficient funds, by the way a csr also had me driving into 3 different counties b/c the atm where I was banking was broken. I was still charged for insufficient funds, even though I was able to make the amount I was told to put in the bank account. I have recently requested statements 3 times, yet have I received the ones requested. I am disgusted and disappointed with Bank of America. I am still trying to get a copy of statements I need.

I had my credit card payment set up to be paid automatically online at the same time every month. One month they decided to begin processing it 6 days earlier, which made my payment one day too early. I caught this after two months and contacted them. I had made no changes regarding the timing of my payment. They did. I asked the rep (who was very rude) how they can charge $100 in fees for being one day EARLY with my payment when they changed their processing time. He said that's the way it is. I spoke with a supervisor. He was just as helpful. I told him I would be paying off the account and closing it. He said that he was sorry to lose my business.

I feel sorry for those who are unable to pay off balances and be done with Bank of America. If you do not have a credit card with them, do yourself a favor and don't get involved.

Discover card has been wonerful. Go with them.

We have been making partial payments on our home loan with Bank of America, due to layoffs and lack of work due to the economy. We recently spoke to a customer rep. informing the that our financial situation had inproved and that we could increase our payment at which time the representative we got did not speak ENGLISH very well at all. He kept saying reinstatement. A few days later we were contacted by another BofA representative inquiring when payment could be expected, a week from the day was agreed He gave us a new amount to pay $1, 348.13 to be Western Union transferred. We sent the amount that we were told on the 17th and on the 24th we received a phone call that our payment was declined, the representative was very informative, more information was given to us by her than any other representative we have spoke to loud and clear she let us know that they will not accept any payments until a full payment of 14, 515.13 our records show that your house is in FORECLOSURE. Just when our financial situation started to improve and we have consistently made payments, not full payments, they want to foreclose on a house we have been paying on for 18years! How does a person sleep at night!

Bank of America reduced my credit lines to $5K from $55K even though I called them to straighten out a mistake made in a balance transfer from another bank and they said they would restore the credit line.

Banks measure credit line by using amount of available vs. outstanding credit. Now we will have a never ending cycle of credit card limit deductions, each justified by the previous one.

I spent an hour with the bank explaining it the first time. They agreed to correct it, and now it is 10x worse than before.

Unless they resolve this satisfactorily, I will never do banking with Bank of America again.

I finally had to call bank of america Corporate Headquarters: [protected] / [protected] to get any help or semi-normal person.

I wanted to find out if a payment to BofA was late since it was due on a Sunday [7/11] and I paid it through there "bill pay" on 7/11. But, after 4 + different calls, having to answer numerous security questions, being told to call somewhere else, and oh, and having these DOLTS hang-up after I got tired of answering 3, 4, 5 + questions, and still not being able to find out if a payment was late; I called their Corp.

At least I got an answer - that it's not late if paid on the Sunday due date but posted the next day. But, the Exec. assistant did say their people can ask an arbitrary number and type of questions until they "feel good". What a good way to run a "biness" - no standards, arbitrariness of low level employees, and not knowing anything, anyway!

This wasn't the first time, but probably the 20th or more time I've had problems with this taxpayer owned bank. It's very hard or impossible to get anything through their FAT heads.

I'm thinking they ought to just merge with GM, and become "SUCK INTERNATIONAL"!

I bought an investment home and had loan from BOA through a brook, the whole process was unbelievably snap. BOA had my husband’s information entered wrong into their computer than asked my brook and us did a lot of extra work, and they kept promise they will have all paper ready but until the last day (it was HUD property, must close at certain day); while they worked with my brook, they wrongly emailed us information what they should send to the brook with encryption(my GOD, what happen if they email our information to others?). The worst was, on the last day when we got the closing office, the close attorney said BOA had found errors on HUD, they were making changes and didn’t know how long it will take; 1 and ½ hours later, we had been told to be back to office at 4:30. We finished sign all papers and found they charged too much for escrow, that is not allowed. The attorney said the house was not completely closed and we couldn’t have keys. But you know BOA began to charge us interest from that day. The following week, the attorney office send email to BOA back-forth, finally we got the refund of escrow surcharge, but not even mention any interest.
While had this loan from BOA for the above investment house, we were doing refinance our primary residence from BOA via the same brook. BOA was our older lender, too. The ref. was delayed to the last day d on August11, somehow the funded on August 19 instead 16, I am not sure if we paid another extra 3 days interest, because when I received the escrow refund yesterday, I didn’t see any details. The refund toke them more than one month after I called couple of times.
BOA used to provide good service, what happened to them? I hope BOA top manager can read this email.

Where do I begin... well in November of 2017 I lost my job at Target where I was making approximately $60k a year which is very good for this area. We were devistated and I immediately applied for unemployment. I then contacted my bank and informed them of the situation and explained that I could send them about $1000 per month with my unemployment, at the time my mortgage was around $1600. I asked them if they had any mod programs or assistance that would help me keep my house and I was told "NO" that my $1000 per month was only going to pro-long forclosure. I was told that my debt to income ratio didnt qualify me for any program. That was a no brainer... I just lost my income. Anyway, so instead of paying a payment I paid off a bunch of our debt. I then contacted Bank of Amercia once I had some significant debt paid and asked them the same questions. We went through the same routine conversation and question/answer period, but this time they said I qualified, , , oh and I also had a new job by this time however I was earning less money, much less. Never the less they told me to send in a TON of paperwork, employment varification, a hardship letter, tax statements, the whole works. I sent it in for them. During this time they were working on putting together this forbearrance payment for me, $828.66 per month for three months when it finally arrived. But during this time, I would consistantly get letters stating that I didnt qualify now, they didnt get something from me they needed, or they would send me a bill with a new HIGHER payment amount. Each time I would call I would get a different story from each representitive. So when if actually finally arrived I made my three months payments as requested and then didnt hear a word from them. Approximately a month goes by so my husband calls them. Oh yes they re-assured him that the new modification would arrive in December. January shows up and we still havent heard anything. Then we get a letter in the mail stating that we dont qualify and our new monthly payment is over $2017. That is over $400 more than our originaly mortgage payment. We could not afford it. So we called and again we were given the run around numerous times only to finally have them tell us our debt to income ratio was too high. WHAT? We didnt incure any new debt since we were qualified last time so what is the deal. We just through our hands up and said forget it. We have tired for almost two years to work with the bank on an affordable mortgage payment and now our house is in the forclosure process with a sale date of November 29th 2017. So we started selling our things, we stopped putting money into the home for fixing stuff and we started packing and looking for new homes. AND NOW WHAT... the bank sends us a new affordable plan out of the blue and are willing for work with us all of a sudden. Why now? Why after we have tried for so long? Why after we sell our posessions? We wanted to keep our home and they played games with us for sooooooo long and now that we have gotten rid of our personal belongings and our preparing to move they pull this.

Bank of America called to tell us that they were closing an account that we had just paid off to zero. We had been customers for 9 years and had a credit limit of $32, 000. We had just made a huge payment to them due to the refinancing of our primary home. With the refinance, we paid of 2 credit cards and a small second mortgage. The credit card balances were due to unforeseen medical expenses. We had never really carried much of a credit card balance before. All of a sudden, Bank of America states that we are a credit risk! Our income did not change and our mortgage payment only went up by $300.00 from the previous payment. They would not just lower our credit limit ...they had to completely close our account! So now their actions will affect our credit scores. We are penalized for doing the right thing! I will never do business with them again and I urge everyone to stop before they open any sort of account with them. This is not the right way to treat customers. There really is no reason this should have happened. We are appalled and to say the least upset.

Bank of America offered my company, via my corporate credit card, an offer for a line of credit advance at the rate of 4.24% for the life of the balance of the advanc. I took advantage of this offer. A couple years down the road B of A decides to change the terms, legal but not real ethical. I can keep my interest rate and never use the card or can use the card and all balances and future purchase would go to a much higher rate. I chose option one. Without contacting we further, B of A closed my account freezing the balance. When this happened I not longer had access to looking at statements online. Furthermore, it caused their system to stop sending me monthly statements. For 2 1/2 years I have been contacting them trying to solve this problem with no success. I then filed complaints with several places. The corporate office contacted me in June 2017, however they have not been able to solve the problem. Just making my account active under the orginal terms could solve the problem but apparently this is too hard for Bank of America and their tech support team.

We have been bank of america customers for the past two years or so. Since then we have lost ALOT of money due to fee's. Bank of America has charged us money for transfering money from one account to another, They make transfers and then charge us. I had to run to the store yesterday. I came online and looked at my bank info. Even when something is not processed yet, it says.. processing. I had 120.00 in my account. When I was at the store I called my husband and asked could he transfer in case i went over 100. So he did.. he transfered 100.00. I spent under 100.00 at the store. This morning we stopped for a coffee and a few little things totaling under 20.00. Today I expected to find we had about 75. in the bank. No..it now shows a negative balance AND a 10.00 fee for overdraft protection?! For what? who knows! Last week I got a 10.00 fee ..after transfering my very last 5.00 from one account to another so I could take out 10.00 cash which I needed. ( so I would not go over) Then we ended up being charged 12.00 from the bank for overdraft protection due to the bank's 2.00 fee for atm. This bank charges us for EVERYTHING! When I call they always have some kind of reason and their statements don't even make sense. They change info and you cannot possibly follow their statements. I am NOT a happy customer and am getting very tired of all the games they play.

I've been banking with bofa for over 10 years now. Last week I received a letter informing that both my personal checking and business checking accounts were closed. No explanation was provided as to why. The only phone number provided was [protected]. I have called this number every day trying to get a hold of someone, but noone ever answers (even during their stated business hours) and noone ever returned my messages. I had the local branch manager look into this and they were not able to get any answers either. This is absolutely ridiculous! Bank of America is run like a scam.

As a business owner I have all my accounts with Bank of America. My payroll checks are drawn on this bank. The new policy is that there is a $6.00 fee to cash a check that is drawn on Bank of America. I was told the reason is to improve customer service. Am I not a customer? I deposit over $1, 000, 000 anually and expect that my employees should be able to cash their paychecks. Additionally, I went inside the bank today with a problem and sat there for over 35 minutes without being seen by an account rep. WHAT CUSTOMER SERVICE? This bank's service has declined dramatically in the 6 years I have been with them.

Since CounrtyWide went out of business last year Bank of America has taken over. In the past 6 months my mortgage has gone up $350.00 dollars a month, and they did it without notification sent to me. Being upset about what is going on, I called Bank of America to discuss why? First I get a person that can't speak any english trying to explain to me why it was going up 350.00. So I hung up on him, and dialed back back in. In hopes of getting someone who I can understand. Luckily I did. We started to discuss why my mortgage went up 350.00 per month. Supposeably they re-assesed my town taxes on the house. Which was ok, because I had been asking CountryWide to do this since day one. But because I had been short for so long in my esgrow because of CounrtyWide which I was caught up with, they wanted me to pay ahead for any shortages that I may inccur within the year due to be deliquient with CounrtyWide. I said NO take that off, but I couldn't take it off totally, I still get charged 18.00 per month. My mortgage is pretty high for one person to pay, and here it is again, and now they want to raise my mortgage again. They sent a notice this time that they are anticipating my taxes, and insurance are going up this year. I find this rediculous, because they keep raising my mortgage premuturely, and the cost keeps going higher and higher, and no-one to help us. No wonder people under Back of America are forclosing on their home. Now my choice is to hopefully re-finance my home, if not it may go into forclosure. Thanks BAC!

Bank of America needs to change the phone system. They do everything they can so that you cannot speak to a human. I have spent over 6 weeks and spent several days at the bank, had to hire an attorney for them to authorize my power of attorney for my mother. God forbid they actually hire someone over the age of 30 with banking experience! I jumped through hoop after hoop trying to get someone to help me. I DO NOT recommend that you use BOA. They really do not have time for you or your money.

I have been charged 4 nsf charges 3 of which should have never been applied. I was charged $35 on 6/8/09 and my balance was +$38.09 making my balance +$3.08. Because of this charge it caused a debit of $25.69 to bring my account to a negative balance, which in turn caused another NSF charge. At this point there should have never been a NSF charge at all because my account never went into a negative balance the balance would be +$12.40, but instead it was -$57.60. Now when a charge of $21.35 came out of my account my balance should have been -$13.29 but BOA now has me at -$78.95 and BOA charged me another 2 charges of $35 ($70) bringing my total to -$148.95! My account balance should actually be at -$48.29. (see attached). This has become a common practice with BOA, I guess this has been their way to take advantage of the economic crisis and continue to profit on accounts that run low on funds! How can it be legal to charge a debit on an account with NSF charges when the balance has not been overdrawn? Well their answer to that is to set up a savings account (with them of course) or a credit card so that they can transfer funds- from one account to another-there will be a service charge for this I'm sure! So instead they charge your account for a negative balance that "might" or "could" happen. This is plain and simple racketeering-stealing! Not only does it reflect badly on the account holder for a long time it isn't right. I spent at least an hour on a chat with the BOA representative about these charges and their explanation was that charges were authorized or pending but hadn't necessarily been sent through the bank, or an actual charge. In most of these cases they never do come through the bank but they charge the account for a NSF even if there was no actual money transaction. I was told last night by 2 BOA reps that one of these charges was credited back to my account but obviously that wasn't done.

So BOA gets taxpayer's money to "Bail them out" while they continue to charge astronomical % on small overdrawn balances-but now they charge for not having an overdrawn balance too!

Americans are struggling to feed their families, find employment, healthcare- just survive and BOA profits from their misfortune! I have a hard time believing that this country and those in power can allow this abuse to continue.

I am sending this to my representatives, the Commisoner of Banks, consumer watchdog advocates and all Federal agencies that have a consumer advocate. I have now spent hours fighting for money that I spent hours earning.

I have always paid my bills. Now I am getting a bit old and I do forget. I did all my financial business with BOA... ALL.
For years I tried to arrange that my credit card is paid on the due date with funds from my checking account.
I talked to a personal banker and tried on the internet. I can set up a procedure that $15 is paid automatically every month, but this does not avoid the interest charges when I forget to pay on time. Over the years I had to pay hundreds of dollars for various late charges. This is despite the fact that I keep my life savings in a BOA savings account. Today I called their 1-800 number to find out the due date to pay my balance in full. They told me it is in April (its March now). After digging for several minutes, I found out, that I was only 2 days away from the due date. They got me again, but I did pay over the phone, so no harm done.
Considering the low interest rates, I fear better keeping my money under the pillow, next to my 45.
Banking and Credit card is computerized fraud by design.

I have a Bank of America bank account and credit card. The only reason I still have the bank account is I have an overdraft I haven't paid off yet. I barely use the account. I pay $25 monthly for the checking account even though the only use I have for it is to deposit money so I can pay my Bank of America Visa. They don't have a lower cost checking plan. They charge me 23% interest for my $9000 balance because I was one day late two times paying the visa. When I get my finances back in order I will never, ever do business with a company like Bank of America that pays fees before the customer.

I banked at Countrywide for years with no problems. Not by my choice, accounts got moved to B of A. I went to a branch in LA area to transfer money between 2 accounts. A counter teller did not know what to do, "Please have a seat and wait for someone" OK> After 10 minutes, another woman told me they will mail me a cashier's check to deposit to another account. I told her that does not sound right. Her response, word to word: "I did not have to come out of my office to help you. I could just let you sit in that chair." I'm taking out my $. I never want to set a foot in B of A branch. They are so rude. I'll tell my friends.

This 'Bank' has apparently resorted to theft to fix their economic woes. BofA hit me 6 times for almost $200.00 in fees in 2 days. I saw there were a couple small charges pending (NOT POSTED) the evening prior, so I online transferred $ to more than cover them. Got hit with (2) $25.00 fees on the next day anyway. Those 2 fees pulled my account down so 2 more went NSF. They then charged me $35.00 each for those 2. Total of $140.00 overnight. I called the 1-800 number and plead my case - got $60.00 refunded. I was still pissed, but at least I got some $ back. This gets better, though. Knowing that I had 2 new charges on the way, I immediately went to the local branch and deposited cash in that account and added more cash still to the account that covers overdrafts. The teller saw two more charges coming, and said nothing. Logged on today to find 2 more $35.00 charges for those 2. AND THE MONEY WAS THERE! They said 'those charges were from the day before, and the money you deposited wasn't there then, even though it didn't post until today'. WHAT?! I called 1-800 and lost it - got nowhere. I called back and tried with another rep - got nowhere again. Tried a third time, and viola, got my $70.00 back. Folks, just keep calling them until you get success. Also, call the business number for customer assistance, there is no cue line to wait in, and the business account reps will help you with your personal accounts if you have a business account. This is a total scam - We have absolutely no proof as to when a charge is going to be posted to our accounts from a check card. The bank is in total control as to when these hit, and and they 'claim' that they have no control over when the vendors submit the charges. When they see a situation where their pulling money to cover NSF fees will result in a chain reaction of NSF's and more fees, they do it. This is a recent thing - I used to transfer money online to cover these issues, and was never charged NSF's before as long as I transferred money to cover them while they showed PENDING. I see the reports just like mine coming from everywhere, and it looks ripe for a class-action lawsuit to me. Better yet, spread the word that BofA will steal your money to every friend and relative you have, close your accounts and move your money to a local bank that does not take government bailout money. And call Clark Howard! I just did, maybe if enough people call him, he'll air their dirty laundry NATIONWIDE. They deserve it.
