Baja Broadband Tiling and dropout video and audio

I have been fighting this company for more than a year over there "High Def" stations and the High def T.V.R. BOX. there tech has been to my house at least 5 times in the last year and each time he comes up with another reason why we have had these problems. It never seems to change and my bill keeps going up. So I just deduct the fee for High Def service and the rental for the box. They seem to be ok with that and credit me. I would just like to know how many other people have this problem and don't complane. I think that in this day and age of digital broadcast this should not be a problem.

Have you ever tried to contact Mesquite, Office [protected]? They NEVER ANSWER THEIR PHONES! How do you handle problems if you REFUSE TO DEAL WITH YOUR CUSTOMERS! I urge everyone in the Mesquite NV area to contact Baja and complain about the drop service. Not only from telephone, but their Internet Service. In the recent month they have lost service several times that add up to hours. You would never notice it when the BILL comes in charging you $85.00 + for un-interrupted
service. If you don't mind paying Full price for Part time service, please disregard this post. Baja Broadband Mesquite, You need o work on your People Skills!

We are having an ongoing problem with Baja here in St. George.
On the 3rd cable box right now and we're still getting tiling/pixelation and we even had the tech. put in different splitters that were up to date and charged us 57.00. Still having the same problems! I don't think they want to admit that they're cabling cannot handle all the use and does not have not enough signal strength. They may be forcing a lot of us to start using DISH.

We are located in Mesquite, Nevada... we been faced with the same over the past two years and still ongoing issues; first, the modem we have we have to continue reboot all the time. Second, they had us changed all our settings. Third, they blamed our wireless router, so we bought a new one, and the same thing happened over and over and gotten worse of losing internet connection. Fourth, the Cable TV connection is fuzzy and snowy on most channels. Fifth, They told us they can only provide service to the house, after that its not their problem, and that is where the problem lies, they said they get their downstream line from the house leased from Qwest, they own it, but theres nothing they can do about it, unless we personally want to contact them, but its more than likely they wont do anything. Sixth, I have another Modem, and asked if i could have my modem i purchased used with the other modem they provided so i could have better service, they said NO, because their system is DHCP and that means it wont work with two different ip addresses coming from one house, and they are limited with IP addresses. Seven, Every Week to two weeks the Internet goes off line, at least two to three days, which they charge for and wont do anything. Eight, They told us on another occasion the have this old part that they need to replace that is causing the problem to drop out when it rains or gets cold, then they said they fixed it, when the weather had cleared up and replaced the part. Nine, Now they come out with this Newspaper article, saying the problems will change as they get a fiber optic line from their source of cable out of town to in town on Jan 20, 2010, although the fiber optic cable wont be to the homes, only from cable station to cable station, yet they have all these satellites behind their building, and will be adding more channels and have more clarity and less internet drop out problems, and the problems will go away. Ten, They wanted to change the Modem, then they said there was nothing wrong with it on many different occasions . we pay around a 125 per month for a package with Voip, Cable, internet. No movie Channels either, we get around 97 channels, and they recently added a blank page radio station or two. If one calls their 1-800 number for help they can never help and will always say everything is ok, or that if something has been reported for that area, they will leave a note for their office to go check the problem, or they will go along with anything the former tech support made notes of, such as the router is bad, or the part needs to be replaced on the top of their translator mountain again and again, after they claimed to have replaced it and it was all better about a couple of years back. Last, there guy who was supposed to show up originally to install the initial cable internet phone package, never showed up that day, never called, till late that afternoon, then said he would show up two weeks later, and never showed up when said he would, and then came in when i was gone and slopp jobbed the whole install, and never came back to do it right, and never did the rest of the rooms to complete the promotional package, or would even do a quality install, he left the cable hanging from the middle of the house over heard on the ceiling, He didnt do anything right, and would not come back to fix anything or test anything and the office said they would get him to come out and he never showed up... the guy who does the cable in this town runs around with a kkk flag on his motorcycle and has a cop brother in law, and they wanted to get into our home when we never even had cable to say they wanted to fix or check something... which they were not let in the home, We were advised to not let them in the home if they were persistent... so we never did. The Baja Broadband Internet part wont upgrade your packages on their own, they say if they offer better packages you will have to call your sales office, to battle it out with them . There is no other cable company here and nearly everyone has been buying sattelite packages from dish network and direct tv and other companies, due to the poor quality of service, personnel, product, equipment. This is another reason why monopolies are bad for Americans... Corporations and the good ol boy networks need to be regulated in any town. not just some states or places. the law needs to be uniform and these state courts need to follow the federal courts to end this corporate monopoly .

Baja Broadband Problems

I had a sudden move in 2007 from one address to another. In order to have my cable and internet services reconnected, I naturally had to clear my old account of $206.42 to have my new connections installed. The amount in question was late, however, was resolved in April or May of 2007, and my new service was installed. I work from home on the internet, so it is crucial I have a connection. I thought the matter taken care of. Then, in May of 2007, I started receiving collection notices from Credit Protection Association, L.P. stating I had an overdue bill and I needed to resolve this or they will post to my credit report, signed by a J. W. Preston. Needless to say, at the time, there was no contact information for this company. I went to the cable company in question. They stated that the account had been resolved and that I would not have been able to have new service had it not been. But, they could not initiate any disputes with the company, I would have to do so. They gave me a number to call. I contacted the company. CPA stated they would put the matter into 'dispute' and the cable company has 30 days to respond. I heard nothing else from the company and considered the matter taken care of. Then, in December 2007, I started receiving notices again from CPA. They have an address, now, on their form letter of 13355 Noel Rd., Dallas, TX 75240 and an 800 number, [protected]. However, the 800 number is a looping recorded message with options to basically dispute or pay. None of the options, #, *, 0, etc., gets you out of the loop to a real person. I again, today, had to call the cable company. I have another matter being looked into by the Senate Representative of our state and stated to my cable company that I am now simply going to forward this matter as well since I now consider this as harassment since this matter has been going on for almost a year and I am being threatened by CPA to forward payment 'IMMEDIATELY' or this will be reported to my credit report. I am now told by my cable company that the account was resolved, but that the payment was credited to my new account and not the old account and so I have remained in the system. I was not told this during the summer of 2007 when this originally started, nor obviously was CPA, yet I was told the account had been resolved. If it had been resolved, and CPA, contacted them for verification as they stated they would, why is this problem still around. The cable company now state that they are sending an email to their corporate office immediately to get this resolved. We'll see what happens next.

I am a unhappy customer in the Hurricane Ut area and the service is horrible. I am always calling for on reason or another. The current issue is that I have to go the whole weekend without my cable tv and this problem has been going on for sometime. I called and the customer service agent lied to me and said there would be a technician in the morning. I had to call back to find that she did lie to me and that Baja has no tech on Saturday, so now I have no tv for the whole weekend. Baja needs to go back and learn that the customer is the most important part of this business and to have 24/7 in house tech support. Please in the corporate office educate your customer service not to lie to the customer and install a 24/7 in house tech support.

Thanks your POed customer

Baja did something similar to me. Baja increased the rate for my internet service with out telling me and I was never able to get a bill from them. All of a sudden I get a call from them saying I owe all this money. I cancel my service and almost immediately get a call from the Credit Protection Association. They threaten me with a a bad credit report, but can't even get me an account number for me to put on the check I want to send them. I would definitely stay away from Baja. It is a corrupt company with shady business practices.

Baja Broadband No call for connection time

In June of 2008 I was given a flier about high speed internet from Baja Broadband. They were having great deals and I thought it would be a good time to sign up for high speed internet, so I called the lady that came to my home and gave me the flier to sign up and she took all of my information including my drivers license number and told me that the people that install the internet would be in touch with me soon to set up an appointment. Well, a week went by and nobody called to set up an appointment so I called this lady back and asked why nobody had called yet and she acted agitated and said that sometimes they won't call for a week and when I told her it had been a week she sighed and asked if I wanted her to call them and find out when they would call me. I told her that I did want her to call them and then call me back to tell me what they said and she said she would call them and call me. It has been three weeks now since I signed up and she never called me back and nobody from Baja Broadband has called me either. I am not sure why they would not bother to have someone go around to homes and get people to sign up if they didn't want to get new clients. I think that this is very poor customer service and I want them to find a way to fix this problem!

This company SUCKS! Avoid at all cost. I use them for Cable TV (they are the authorized provider in our Colorado community). I have been fighting withe them over intermittent service and billing issues. There are 6 channels (including FoxNews & CNBC that I keep on all day) that go out 10-50 times per day. Once, about a month ago, they were out for nearly 48 hours despite making numerous calls to their "Customer Lack-of-Service" line. This has been going on for months. Also, I've tried every method available to pay my bill, I even hand deliver my payment to the local office and it's been over three weeks and they keep calling saying I've not paid my bill (the check has not been presented to my bank for payment). I've tried repeatedly to use my bank BillPay, but since their 7th century accounting system can't accept an electronic transfer from my account to theirs, BillPay has to mail them a paper check. Same situation as the personal check I hand delivered, calls started coming in that I hadn't paid them and the BillPay check hadn't been presented to my bank for payment. I plan to write complaints to the Colorado BBB and the Colorado Public Utilities Commission recommending their PUC permit to provide services in our community be revoked. AVOID Baja Broadband AT ALL COST!

I have been a Baja Broadband customer from September of 2008 and I can tell you from first hand experience that this company is DEPLORABLE ! Baja Broadband has been over billing me for my internet connect since day one of service and they are arrogant when proven wrong. I would like to explain, I pay for 10mb of download speed an 1mb of upload speed and I only on average of 3mb of "intermittent" service that is no more comparable to "dial-up service" from AOL. I have done my "due diligence" in researching an documenting proof of their less than substandard internet service and I feel that as a consumer it is my duty to make other customers aware to beware of Baja Broadband. If I had to rate Baja Broadband on a scale of 1 to 10 I would give them a " NEGATIVE NINE " for "customer service", "internet service" and all around decency! BEWARE TO ALL ! SAVE YOURSELF'S THE HEADACHE AN HEARTACHE OF DEALING WITH THIS DEPLORABLE COMPANY CALLED "BAJA BROADBAND" !

""ATTENTION ALERT""" TO NEW MEXICO RESIDENTS !

"Ruidoso residents"
Go to www.speedtest.net an setup an account to track to you true internet speeds. If you are unable to watch video, download files and or find that your internet browsing takes way to long . Below is a set of step by step instructions to determine your true internet speeds.

1) Go to "www.speedtest.net" an setup an account for free and choose the "star" on the map that says "Albuquerque" and start a "free scan" because Ruidoso NM servers are out of Albuquerque NM and this selection will give you a true download and upload speed test.
Do not use "www.speakeasy.net" as instructed by Baja Broadband technicians because they know that the servers that you will be testing your speed from, are in major cities like Los Angeles and your test signal will be bypassing the Albuquerque servers which are the actual servers that your Baja Broadband service is using. To be non-bias in your testing you should speed test a minimum of 8 times a day at different times of the day and use different servers within a 250 mile radius of your current location. If you know how to take screen shots of your results that would be even better so you can keep your on record of your speed test, speedtest.net does a great job of this for you but to have your own back up and proof to show the in home line tech that Baja Broadband will send out to your house. PLEASE NOTE: You have to do at least 8 tests at different times of the day everyday and for at least a 2 month period before bringing it to Baja Broadbands attention that you are being "over billed" for the service you are actually getting. PLEASE NOTE: Baja Broadband will also direct you to use "speedtest.bajabroadband.com" please remember that this Baja Broadband own speed test site and your test is going directly to their servers and this is NOT a non-bias test because it only goes to there servers in your town and back to you which is not a true test.

2) If you call Baja Broadband for an in house visit you have to take a speed test before you call an after to call as well as when the technician is there and about an hour after he leaves your home. Baja Broadband is notorious for boosting the signal to your house before, durning and after the technician is in your home and this is to prove to you that nothing is wrong with your signal and thus making you out to be a liar. If you do your due diligence you will be prepared to battle with them and let me tell you it will be a battle!
DO NOT BE INTIMIDATED BY THEM!

If you feel that you are being over billed and not getting the service that you are paying for raise hell, contact the BBB an use "State" authority and bring this to their attention. I KNOW I AM !
