Bad business practice
Complaint Rating:
Company information: GAIAM 5455 West Chester Rd West Chester, Ohio United States Phone: 18003579213 GTXpress.com
The company practice is to give the customer the run around and to keep charging upgrades to the Xpress cooker client base. Fisrt I was going to be charged extra on the automated line that was advertised on TV and later the next day when I called during business hours I had to speak to a supervisor to get them to discount the price back to what was offered on TV. It didn't end there, month later they sent me extras to the Xpress cooker after they pre-charged my card. took many calls and a lot of wait time to stop this crazyness.
This complaint is to warn others of the difficulties just to get the Xpress cooker! Sincerely, Ed

He is right. I ordered the cooker and I was supposed to pay only 2X $19.95 plus shipping $16$ that was supposed to be EXPRESS. Guess what? The company charged me $32.00 for S&H and the item came after 5 weeks after I ordered it. In addition, my total bill was $117.00. I did not want to order anything else but the automated system will continuously ask me the same thing.
I will return everything. However they will not refund the S&H which was a rip off.
BAD BUSSINESS. Russian mafia should take notes from this "lady"/business. |

| I order the xpress cooker on 7-5-09, today is 7-22-09. I have spoken with a different operator every day for the past week and keep getting the run around. each on has told me that it is on it's way and will be there in 7 to 14 business days. OK to me this is not express shipping, especially if it comes by FedEx, this is more like united states postal system. I am very disappointed in this so called"company" that promises things that it can not deliver. I am warning everyone I talk to and have sent letters to USA today to warn against this fraudulent company. I only wish I had found the complaint department sooner, then I could have saved my money. |

| I was planning to order the Redisetgo system UNTIL I read the comments on this web site. I don't need the aggravation and the hits on my credit card. I find these practices to be a VERY deceiving business practice. The consumer protection agencies should do something about this company... At least, redisetgo will not get my money, nor my credit card number. |

| Good for you not losing, this product and the company are both garbage. I used mine about 20 times and the Teflon started to peel off. Unfortunately I had it for about 6 months and they said piss off to returning it and getting a replacement. They didn't even offer to replace it, just sorry, your screwed, thanks for your money loser. I'm going to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and my credit card company. I'm hoping my credit card company will force them to take it back. |

| WOW. thanks to everyone for posting your comments about the redisetgo. I read a few favorable reviews and was ready to consider purchasing it. Now, I will not. Sorry to those who had a bad experience, but thank you so much for charing it on this public forum and getting the word out!!! |

| Just like the other person said - WOW! - thanks for the information. I too will not buy the cooker!!! I'm sure the stores have a similar cooker. I just saw one on Amazon.com. I usually don't buy from companies I don't know but the infomercial was pretty good. I almost did it. Thanks again. |

| Thanks to everyone for posting, and sorry to hear of the difficulties encountered. I have seen this item repeatedly on infomercials, and was just about to order. Thanks to you all, I have reconsidered. I don't want to get involved with credit card disputes and false charges. I am going to see if I can find this thing in a store somewhere. |

| Great appreciation to all who expressed their experiences. I purchased the previous version--GT Express--and it was useless after just a few cooking uses. Everything became glued to the surfaces despite nonstick spray and oil. Thought I'd give purchase the Redi Set Go; perhaps they improved the surfaces, and the plates are removable. Apparently nothing has changed: deceptive infomercial and business practices. Thank you all for saving me money, aggravation, and another addition to the kitchen appliance graveyard. -Mary |

| I watched the infommercial which offered 2 for the price of one (plus seperate shipping and handling). I went online to make the purchase, but I was not given the option of 2 for the price of one. I spoke with customer service & they knew nothing of the offer! And I had just watched the infommercial not 5 minutes before! Forget it. |

| Thank you so much for your comments. Was just about to order one in spite of those ridiculous shipping charges when I started reading these complaints. They'll not get my money. I have a feeling the infomercial makes it look better than it is anyway. |

Well I should have checked this site before ordering. I just ordered 2 of them with the bonus gifts...no extra recipes or pans or whatever else that will be charged to your credit card and sent months down the road. (How many shaped pans could they possibly think of)? Oddly, I found this next part annoying. Why would the site indicate to me after I placed the order (not before) that as a special “thank you” I can claim a $25 Target (or Walmart) gift card and then renege to indicate the offer is not available to me today? It would have been better to not have advertised the special thank you at all after I ordered. I emailed this feedback to the email address listed only to find that the email was not deliverable... I then emailed to Customer Service taking the email address from my order confirmation. My feedback was -
"I am already concerned about ordering from an Infomercial. After the order (I should have checked before the order) I read many online complaints that this product is inferior and that shipping is overpriced. I agree the shipping charge for my order for qty 2 is overpriced …but….. I am willing to give the product a trial run. Hopefully I will have a good experience with this and can add that to the Complaints Board website"
I'll let you know! CK - Arizona |

I, too, was seriously planning on trying the new grill. They have the old (101) ones on QVC at 2 for the price of 1 but after reading all the complaints decided against that.
I was not happy with the website and all its repeat sales (Yes, I agree, how many shapes do you need?) but did not consider the deceptive charges once they get your card number. I will definitely stay away. Maybe they will eventually get sold at QVC. I trust them. |

I feel lucky after reading all the other consumers complaints, that my only issue with the cooker is that the numbers on the dial partially wipe away each time I wipe it down. I have only owned it for 2 months and am now afraid to wipe down the outside of it. I have used a permanent marker, at the 5 minute intervals that is actually, what I would have expected for the cost was the manufactures numbers to do the same; stay on permanent
I will say it does work but at two payments of $19.95, plus shipping; the quality is about one payment ($19.95) too much. |

| I'd just like to reiterate THANK YOU to everyone posting warnings. After watching the infomercial I did a google search for the product and this site (fortunately) popped up. After reading the host of bad experiences, I will definitely NOT purchase. I'm disappointed. I was really looking forward to using it. The retisetgo looks so great in the infomercial, I almost wanted to buy it anyway, hoping it was just one person's out of the usual experience. So many people sharing similar stories convinced me and I'd like to thank everyone for sharing. With the internet more and more a source for shopping, I think it's important that we all leave reviews here, at amazon epinions or where ever. Divide and conquer, as they say. One person alone gets no results but by banning together and sharing info, we can stop scammers and talk with our pocket books! THANK YOU fellow posters. |

I was going to order the xpress redisetgo until I read all the complaints on this site. For those of you who want to really complain about this defective product and deceptive advertising, file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission. They put the fear of god into scam advertising like this.

I too was scammed by this sorry company. First the telephone ordering system kept billing me for extras after I was practically shouting NO NO NO in to the system. I ended getting shipped 2 of the cookers and billed for two. I sent the one back, called my bank and had them reverse the charges immediately, claiming that someone had stolen my CC information which the company had done when they unethically billed me for the second unit that I did NOT order.
Then if that were not bad enough, after about 4 uses of the one I did order, the coating on the bottom plate started bubbling, peeling and cracking. I had to pull eye teeth to get a replacement by turning them in to the BBB of Colorado and the Federal Trade Commission. I urge everyone who has had their product fail to go through the steps that I mentioned in this email and make sure to turn them in to both the BBB of CO and the FTC. The fact they are engaging in false advertising on a national level makes this a federal crime, not to mention credit card fraud.
I am enclosing a picture of the peeling paint on a practically brand new grill. |

If you have ever ordered one you may have been the victim of a scam.
I know because I am.
I decided to order on line and after checking out the web site I started placing my order. I wanted 1 base unit plus the “Perfect Pan Collection”.
I began placing my order and everything went well until I went to the check-out. I was shown a report on my order and cost with shipping and handling.
At this point the web site started asking if I wanted extra items. The first extra item offered was “Cathy’s Easy Eatin’ Recipe Club”. I clicked the box labeled “no thank-you”. Then the web page asked if I wanted 15 free recipes. I clicked the “Yes” box.
At this point the order was finalized I received an order number which I printed out, the amount was charged to my credit card then it showed me the new order form which now displays the addition of the "Easy Eatin Recipe Club" for $9.95 to which I had said no earlier.
Evidently to get the 15 free recipes you have to join the club, a fact that was omitted during the ordering process.
I tried to register a complaint on the phone but they said they could not help me with my order for 2 days. I submitted a complaint via email to customer support listing the order number. I received an automated email stating I would receive my response to my request after 2 business days.
Within 24 hours I received an email acknowledging my order, including the item I did not order, and then I received a new order number. My original complaint was now lost in limbo because the original order number no longer exists.
I sent another email repeating my complaint to which I received another automated message stating I would receive a response, you guessed it, after 2 business days. 24 hours later I received an email stating my order had been shipped.
On the 3rd day after my second complaint email I received a reply from customer service that said they could not correct my order since it had already shipped. My registration to the club had been dropped and I would not receive any more recipes and would not be charge any more money and they could refund my $9.95 less shipping and handling if I returned the recipes. I was being shipping and handled to death.
I’m sure that by this time most people will say it isn’t worth the trouble and keep the recipes. I wondered for a short time why don’t they just credit the money back to my credit card. Then I realized it was all a scam to get as much money out of their customers as possible by making business difficult.
It is now 2 months latter and I received another shippment of pans from redy-set-go. I just found out the perfect pan collection is perfect for Gaiam because they continue to collect from my credit card account. Only if you chose to "Learn More" are you told the collection is a club. Now I have to get that canceled too. |

| That was a close one, good thing I googled this product before I handed over my CC info. It's a shame a reputable competitor could not make a comparable product, that I could walk into a store and buy. Shipping and handling is the new profitable cash cow, dont encourage it by participating. Remember: The large print giveth, the small print taketh away. |

I had ordered the GTX-Redi set go-and had to return it, unopened. ( Unhealthy cooking; must use commercial spray each time for cooking). This is weeks ago. They still ship me extras ( cookbooks, additional parts. etc.)- and CHARGE ME FOR IT ! I tried to protest by e-mail: They cannot find my name and address. I tried to call: they have an unbelievable poor connection-and do not understand what I am saying. WHAT SHOULD I DO NEXT ???
