SCAM ALERT ASC WARRANTY!
I bought a 2000 Ford Ranger XLT on March 01, 2014 from another scammer of a used auto business (Team Motorsports in North Kansas City, MO and have had problems with it from the get go! There was no option as to whether to purchase the warranty from ASC or not. $1000 was just tacked onto the loan amount. I think the used car dealer and this warranty company are in on the scam together! We have now had the truck for less than 10 months and have probably only driven it only 6 of the 10 months due to an injury, less than 1000 miles has been put on the truck. Now, the hood has been up more than down.
Ok, here is the SCAM..An O2 sensor went out just 2 weeks after purchase and everything has went downhill since. All of a sudden, several months later the truck started overheating and my husband immediately started trying to figure out what was wrong with it. He changed the thermostat, the radiator cap, flushed and changed all fluids and burped all the lines and it still continues..he finally threw his hands up and said "I can't figure it out, so we have to take it somewhere to have it diagnosed." Ford dealership said that it had a cracked cylinder. Ford called ASC warranty and ASC said it wasn't covered. A cracked head/gasket is covered but not the cylinder...It's all in the wording. You have to tear down the motor in order to find out if that's even the problem. IT IS A CRACKED HEAD THAT CAUSES THE CRACKED CYLINDER BUT THE CYLINDER IS NOT COVERED BY ASC WARRANTY. There are no symptoms of a cracked head until it happens and then it's too late and now you have a cracked cylinder as well as the cracked head. Ford dealership said it was going to be $5000 to fix it and that is what I owe on the loan. So now, I have a truck I cannot drive anymore after only 6 months of driving and a loan for the same amount, I am paying off a loan for a truck that is just collecting dust now and we can't even sell it.
If you are told that you have to purchase a ASC Warranty in order to purchase the vehicle..RUN FOR YOUR LIFE AND DO NOT PURCHASE ANY WARRANTY FROM THIS COMPANY BECAUSE YOU WILL BE OUT THAT MONEY AND WHATEVER THE REPAIRS ARE..IT'S ON YOU!

Ms. Dragar,
On January 5th your husband advised the water pump had failed and needed to be replaced. Our office advised to get the vehicle to the repair facility of your choice and to produce an estimate for repairs.
Christian Brothers advised our office the engine needed intake gaskets, not a water pump, which we approved. Are you upset we didn't pay for a water pump your engine didn't need?
