On Oct. 13, 2011 Scott Honda called and asked if I needed a company to direct more traffic to my website.
I said no, he kept on scamming me and talking about how much better it would be for me. I told him I would think about it. He said to give him the name of the credit card & #. I told him to WAIT because I needed to call and find out what is my available balance. He said you don't have money in your bank account? I said NO I am unemployed and lost my job just about 2 years ago. I told him to wait and I will call back. Well in the late afternooon, he called back and said that the half amount went thru on my card 246.00. I told him, that I did not have any balance available, but he just kept talking saying it went thru. I asked him to ask billing department to stop and refund credit, since I am not interested. He said he will have to get back to me. The next day Oct. 14, 2011 I got another call by Scott Honda saying that another amount was put thru 245.00 = Total amount $491.00 on my American Express card. I told him to get me billing and reverse or put a refund request because I am not interested. He said he will have them call me. I got an email from Valerie Hughes, Title: Pro Service Account Manager) Office : [protected] ext. 117 saying that they were going ahead to start researching .
I emailed her back and asked her to stop, I am not interested and refund my card. She emailed me back and said they were out to lunch and would get back to me. She emailed me later in the day, saying that they cannot give me a refund. I would have to request from my bank a charge back (which is the same as a stop payment) . I called Macys American Express number and persons I spoke to said that they cannot do that. The company who made the purchase can only issue a refund. I emailed Valerie Hughes back and told her that and she said sorry we cannot give you a refund. But if you do request a charge back, we will not fight it. As of Oct.31.2011 I have not gotten any kind of refund back. Since then I have had to get a new credit card, removed my site name off Google and change domain name. But they may have still access to an embedded code they input prior to this, as they were checking out the website. American Express sent a letter to me saying that I still owe 201.00 which is the unauthorized charge which now I am not able to use my card until I pay it off. Then American Express sent another letter saying they are still in dispute stage. How long does it take to get a refund. I was totally scammed. I will file a complaint with AARP next and then BBB in CA.

They ripped me off too! BIG TIME!I was sent the timeline of progression first and then the
Gold package info (July 19, 2013). After
going over both documents, I agreed to enter into a contract with Attracta to get
our business to the top of Google. I
should have had my onsite content by Aug 9, according to the timeline they sent
me. Instead I kept getting repeat emails of the Knowledge Packet over and over
again. It was not until Sept 11 that I
received the onsite content – a whole month late that I had to pay for. During this time, I also requested the
additional service they offer for $300 to install the onsite content for me, as
laid out in the original agreement. They
ignored my emails and I was unable to receive this service. I had also asked some questions about editing
my website. Those, too, went
ignored. When they finally did send the
onsite content, I was given two weeks to install it or the contract would be
null and void. Because I was unable to
get the additional service, I was unable to fulfill this part of the
contract. Attracta had only ignored me
and sent me repeat emails. I decided to
cancel. Even after we agreed on a refund
amount, Attracta gave me the runaround for months. This is the tame version of what they’ve put
me through.

They offer a 60-Day-Guarantee or the customer gets their
money back. They were unable to get us
to the top of Google in 60 days because they couldn’t even get the onsite
content done on time. They couldn’t even
answer simple questions in emails. They
couldn’t call me when they said they would.
I spent days waiting on replies that never came. Even though they could not do their job, I
never received any money back.

Attracta breached their contract 3 TIMES and completed no
services for me. I paid them $2894, and
I have not seen a dime returned. What
little initial work they did was very low quality with misinformation and misspelling. I turned them into the Better Business
Bureau, and they would not cooperate with them either. They have since had their accreditation with
the BBB taken away due to the number of complaints they’ve had. I even tried to
contact the co-founder, Ken Leonard, to which I still went ignored.

If you are a victim of the Attracta scam, here’s a few
things you can do:

Google “Attracta Reviews” and leave your
two-cents on every page you see so that others may be warned. Go to the IC3 division of the FBI to report it as an internet scam/business fraud. This is more time consuming but worth
it! I’m working on my case there now. Report them to the Better Business
Bureau. Part of my decision to hire them
was because they were accredited on the BBB.
Help future potential customers to know the truth by reporting your
experience. Suing is certainly an
option, but if you’re like me, you’re out of state and things get more
expensive than they’re worth. That’s why
I will spread the truth of what they did to me online. Also, I made an Angie’s List page for
them. Feel free to leave a review there
as well!

UPDATE: After an email to Attracta - Aug 27 17:30 (PDT):
As you have not answered my last email.

This email is to inform you that I am now taking matters further. I shall be informing my bank that Attracta took money from my credit card without my permission and they have confirmed that they will start proceedings. I have spoken to Ken Gamble and he has agreed, after seeing my emails to look further into this matter for me. Ken Gamble http://kengamblescaminvestigator.wordpress.com/ken-gamble-scam-investigative-strength/ http://www.ifwonline.com/about.html. Email correspondence to you on the 10th July and the 11th July clearly states "I do not wish to continue with Attracta remove my website from your system. I am really struggling to see how this was not clear to you at the time. I do hope that you will take this very seriously.

Attracta Reply: 27th August
Upon speaking with management, a refund of $148 has been issued
I rest my case!

It looks like Attracta does similar scam for many. No results - no refunds. I am in a dispute with them already for three months. their lies are unbelievable! From my experience I can say that they are sophisticated scammers: they don't deliver promised results by their Platinum program, they use questionable tactics that can hurt your site, they even falsified their full refund" guarantee and simply were stealing my money from my account, ignoring my request to stop it until I changed my card. I just got all this c***. Sure i am going to contact BBB and more.

I have just spent the last 3 months sorting out the chaos that Attracta SEO and top listing created for my website. I started off joining their free SEO tools. I then got a phone call from them (I am in Australia they are in America) Suggesting that I let them do the SEO work on my website. That was Jan 2013. I agreed and parted with a considerable amount of cash by way of credit card.
They said it would be 3 months before I saw any progress with my website being listed on the front page of Google with my key words. In March they took money from my credit card after I had asked them not to as I was away and wanted to review the situation before I agreed to continue. I received a progress report and found that they had spelt my name wrong in the video they had put together for You Tube.
Attracta answer: “Our goal is to have your website ranking on the top pages in organic search results. The website will be what the customer is ultimately seeing in search results for each of your keywords, and it is highly unlikely that a customer (or competitor) will ever read the blog article, or necessarily come across the video. For this reason, we will not need to make any changes to the spelling in order to retain the optimal SEO value of the video”
So I guess it does not matter!
Over the course of 6 months they managed to get my site onto the front page of Google with 2 keywords for one day. Most of the links they put into the articles they wrote were broken. They pointed all the gash articles to 2 pages on my website all unrelated. Unprofessional poor work.
The Attract Top Listing managed to complete the relationship by creating back links to my site that were un-natural. When Google’s Penguin came along my site got de-ranked and flagged due to un-natural links pointing towards my website. When I checked my site in Google Webmaster Tools and started to check the links I was totally amazed at the rubbish they had linked me to. There answer
“It is extremely unlikely that these links played any negative role in your site being penalized by Google”
Now if that’s not denial what is!
Attracta has done nothing for me but cause problems. Since Jan I have had no sales on my website and I am seriously considering taking action to get my money back. I am very disappointed that I have invested money with Attracta they did not do what they agreed to do at the start. I asked for a refund but they declined.

I'm Valerie Hughes of Attracta, mentioned above, and we did indeed issue a full refund to this customer.
On thee 13the of October, this customer was contacted by one of our representatives to initiate a conversation about how our service could benefit her business. The customer willingly gave her credit card to get service started and was immediately transferred to talk to me on the phone in order get the necessary background research started. Later theat evening, after our office had already closed, I received an email from thee customer requesting a refund because she could not afford thee service at theat time. Per the customer's request, I forwarded a request to stop work on her account and begin the process of a refund, which takes 2 business days to confirm with the credit card company. The request was made on a Friday afternoon and we are not open on thee weekends. Two business days meant confirmation would be received by Tuesday. Later that weekend I got a response from the customer letting me know that she had already contacted her credit card company and had requested a stop payment be put on the charge. Once a customer has requested a stop payment from their credit card company, we are no longer able to issue a refund. I informed her of the situation and let her know that we would not fight the charge back from American Express, but we are not able to issue a refund once a stop payment has been filed. When I got back in the office on Monday, she had called and said she had her site cancelled and removed from Google. I let her know that because a stop payment had been issued, we were not able to refund her. She later replied to my email letting me know that she had not spoken to American Express, so we were free to refund her card. Unfortunately, there was some confusion as to whetheer or not contact had been made to the credit card company in regards to a stop payment. Normally, issuing her a refund would have been no problem. However, once a claim of stop payment has been made, we were no longer able to issue the refund. We then called American Express to verify whetheer or not a stop payment had in fact been done. We found theat no stop payment request had actually ever been made. We then immediately issued a full refund. We regret any inconvenience theis misunderstanding may have caused, but our actions were simply based upon the statements made by the customer. It has all been straightened out now.
