I purchased 3 cell phones that supposedly came with a 1 year warranty. One of the cell phones stopped working properly only a few months after purchase.

So, to take advantage of my phone's "WARRANTY", I contacted the place of purchase. I was given a phone number and told I could participate in the Exchange By Mail Program--sounded simple enough. Before I could send my phone in, I was asked a series of questions about different things on my phone, EX: look under the battery and tell me the color, what does the screen show, etc..The lady told me that she had to check for damage.--After all was cleared by her, I was sent a box to return my phone.

Within a few weeks, I received my "REFURBISHED" replacement phone---and all was well...UNTIL...

I then received a letter stating that my account would be charged $115.00--WHAT?! I have contacted the number given and told them what it read.I was told that oh this phone has water damage and I would be charged 115.00 for this REFURBISHED phone.Although no indicators were visible to the lay person, YEP, it was damaged and therefore was not covered by warranty.-MY PHONE ABSOLUTELY WAS NOT EXPOSED TO WATER OR ANY LIQUID.Well, turns out that if you talk outside you might get condensation in your phone and that only an EXPERT could detect this...yeah, yeah.

So, I said I wanted to return the replacement phone since I could purchase the same phone NEW on eBay for $64.00.--Surprisingly, I was informed that they could not tell me how to do that--and that I could not GET OUT of their EXCHANGE program and that I had to PAY the outrageous price for the REFURBISHED phone. WHAT A SCAM !!

SO, IN CONCLUSION, YOUR WARRANTY IS NOT WORTH A HILL OF BEANS ! YOU, MY FRIEND HAVE NO CONTROL--ONLY THE "EXPERTS" HAVE A SAY SO IN DETERMINING WHAT LIABILITY WILL BE PLACED ON YOU !!

IT WOULD BE VERY INTERESTING TO KNOW JUST HOW MANY FOLKS OUT THERE HAVE BEEN "BURNED" BY THE WARRANTY THAT CAME WITH THE PURCHASE OF YOUR AT&T PHONE. --

I'm a new customer with at&t. Never in my life would I have thought that a VERY well-known business would be so unprofessional!! Instead of trying to help the customers (who are the ones's spending the money), the representatives will 'walk you around the park' to get YOU to see why THEY are right and YOU are wrong!
A littlt over two months ago, I subscribed to the internet and phone services at7t offered. The rep. explained to me that I wopild be receiving the phone services (with L.D.) and intrnet services for $100, (give or take). I used a prepaid credit card to est. the initial services. NO OTHER CHARGES WERE AGREED TO BE TAKEN FROM MY CARD. I purchased a prepaid credit card a couple of years ago because of a certain incident. So, whenever I need to purchase something from the internet, I load money onto this particular card for these type of nnonsecure transactions. Afterall, no funds would be available if I don't put the money onto the card. This was the first mistake.
Anyways, the rep. explained that the DEAL that I would be receiving that day was a "bundle." He also explained that I would be receiving cash back as well(which I have called about numerous times, but no one seems to no for what!) The first month was fine. This month, my internet services were interrupted. I didn't understand why when I had just paid my bill. To make a long story short, and to keep me from again getting P****D off, I called and spoke with like 15 reps. I was given THREE DIFFERENT explainations as to why my services were off! Come to find out, I had been paying a $100 phone bill and they had been debting monies from my Credit card that I used to initially set up for the internet services. So, in fact, my services were not a "bundle" afterall. I had to pass a credit check in order to get a bundle, which was not explained, and when they tried to draft funds for this month, it declined, which interrupted my services. IF ALL OF THIS STUFF WAS MADE CLEAR BY THE REP, there would not be any prob. To top things off, the last rep. that I talked to was suppose to connect me to another dept. and she clearly hung up in my face! I was never contacted.
As of now, I wish I would have reconsidered my choices for my internet provider. I am a nursing student and don't have time to be mislead by untrained reps working for these million dollar companies. I need to have access to the internet. I know that you all prob. get paid off commission, but you dont have to make your $ by lying to your customers. This will only cause major trouble in the long run.
