Aspen Dental up charges for even cleaning teeth

I booked an appt with Aspen to get my teeth cleaned and after getting through all the xrays they poked at my teeth and gums for about 5 minutes and said give us another minute and a hygenist will be in. She came in and said are you ready to talk financials now. I was in shock I explained I hadnt had my teeth cleaned yet and they said they never do that on a first appt because 90% of their patiencents need something more. I was then shocked even further when they took me into the next room to tell me that they felt I needed a special cleaning service and that it would cost me $291 additional over my insurance. I asked do I have a cavity? NO Any other medical issue? No I said my teeth were just cleaned 9 months ago and they said because I have a couple teeth with level 4 gaps that they wanted to do this. So I said no thanks lets just stick with what my other dentist has always done. I havent had a cavity in 30 years. They then said no you dont understand once the dentists recommend something this is now your only choice. So after a lot of heated conversations I left and called another dentist who laughed and said they had never heard of such a thing. A cleaning is a cleaning. They basically are Sears in the 80's trying to break peoples arms with fear to make them pay more for what they dont really need. Making them feel like they have no choice at all... All I can say is steer clear of these people ... Also all you ever get on the complaint line is a recording to leave a message. It always says they are to busy to talk right now...

I would not say that Aspen did not try to get you in for a more complicated treatment than you needed, but the dentist who said that "the cleaning is a cleaning" is not telling you the truth either. There is a regular cleaning for people that have healthy gums and there is a cleaning that is done for people with periodontal problems. And there is nothing to laugh about, unless you want to be unethical and make the other dentist look bad. Anyways, no two dentists given the same patient will ever come up with the same treatment plan...

Aspen Dental high pressure sales speech

From the moment I walked in the door it was a high pressure sales speech to get me to buy a $149 Electric toothbrush! They took 22 x-rays and the dentist literally looked at me for 60 seconds and that was a "comprehensive exam" according to my bill. When I questioned the Office manager about this he said "oh he looked at your xrays before he saw you." And then they tried to scare me into buying a $67 special exam that my dental insurance doesn't cover by saying the word CANCER. They then billed my care credit for the rotadent even after I said I did not want it! If you can afford to go anyplace else do so! These people are sharks!

Aspen Dental rip-off artists

Whatever you do, please do not go here, or to any Aspen Dental for that matter. I wish I would have checked the reviews before my first visit, but thankfully I did before I had any work performed, so I was luckier than some of the other poor people. They took far too many x-rays and then wouldn't even clean your teeth or do any work, so I hope you're not hurting! They went over your x-rays and developed a treatment plan, which was outrageous. Hope you have money to blow, because this place overcharges A LOT. I don't know where they came up w/ their prices, but they were ridiculous! They wanted to give me 3 crowns, a root canal, several fillings, and pull out one wisdom tooth...all for the bargain price of $7500! But hey, since I had "really good insurance" (which seems to be a common theme among the reviews), it'd only cost me $3800! Then they wanted me to open up a care credit card. I ran for a 2nd opinion and glad I did. I don't need crowns or a root canal, just some fillings and my wisdom tooth removed, costing a little over $400, with my portion being $160! What is wrong with Aspen? They need to be closed down for doing this to people, and they're a nationwide company? STAY AWAY! Warn others! My other friends and family members had problems with them too!

There is a class action lawsuit being filed against them. Please email me at researchpartners@verizon.net if you would like to help us with information about their business practices. There are numerous complaints all over the country and they need to be put out of business.

Thank you,

Sounds very similar to what they tried to do to me in Hamburg, NY. Same song and dance about needing root canal with crown; also was told that all of my old fillings needed to be replaced. Sat me down with the 'Finance Manager' .. btw .. i've never seen a finance department at any other health care organization ... anyway, she told me that with my insurance, it would cost me about $1600 out of pocket. Chump change i suppose. So I went home and did some research on Aspen Dental and found many complaints, so I got a second opinion. I did need root canal, no crown, no fillings replaced. I had one cavity and needed new x-rays done because the ones I retrieved from Aspen were so faint that the Dentist couldn't even read them. Long story short .. it cost me $5 copay ... I saved $1595 by not going to Aspen. They really should be shut down ... preying on innocent people ... ###!

I am a dental assistant, it was my career for over 25 years! NEVER, go to these chain dental stores, that is what I call them! All they are looking for is $$$! There hire dentists that find any job elsewhere. They have not had any extensive training in prothodontics, which is crowns, bridges, dentures, ETC> I could make anyone a denture the right way, I have worked with all kinds of specialists. Too make a denture correctly there are several visits involved. 1 is a alginate impressions, 2 is custom tray impressions, 3 is wax try in and bite check, 4 is the teeth try in, set in wax so the patient can see what the color looks like, the position of the teeth, shape and size, at this time the patient can basically ask for a color, pick out another color, make any teeth twist a little for a more natural look, make them look like your natural teeth as they were, etc. So please stay away from these chains!

Aspen Dental horrible service

I needed an affordable dental office that was close by. After my other dental office closed I decided to try Aspen in January of 2011.

My last appointment, which was yesterday is my last appointment ever at Aspen. I waited for 45 minutes in my chair in the back and watched people walk passed me. I was there only because I had some pain in my tooth where my cavity was filled 2.5 months prior by the mentor Ohio office and I thought something wasn't right because it felt funny. When I made the appointment the lady on the phone told me that they would look at my tooth and then discuss what needs to be done if there is a problem. When the dentist Finally came over he was like I need x-rays and I said no, that is not what they told me on the phone. He REFUSED to look in my mouth. It would of taken 2 minutes. I just had my x-ray's 2.5 months prior, why on earth would I need them again. I refused and the 2 guys just looked at me like I was an idiot. And the Dentist actual said he did not tell me he wouldn't need x-ray's. So the dentist is suppose to answer the phone at your office? He was rude, and so I told them, they lost a customer, and walked out. I can't believe they made me wait in the chair for 45 mins and then told me I HAD to get an x-ray. They were rude and I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THAT OFFICE AGAIN! I can take my money somewhere else.

I also want to stress one more thing. I'm shocked that they refused to look in my mouth. Absolutely refused. It's a dental office? I'm trying to get pregnant and I know that I can't take x-ray's if I'm pregnant so for me to refuse the x-ray's (I shouldn't have had to explain that to them) and for them to stare at me like they couldn't do anything without the x-ray is absolutely ridiculous. The service was horrible and can't believe they treated me like that.

Another appointment I had at the same office. I walked in, signed in and sat down and Waited 30 mins and all of sudden my cell phone beeped that I had a message so I listened to it while in the waiting room and it was a Message from the Aspen Dental office asking where I was. I thought it was a joke, I walked up to the front desk and I told them I have been here for 30 mins, see I signed in and pointed to the sing in sheet. The lady was on her cell texting and apologized, but seriously. Do your job. I should of known then what a horrible place the Mentor Ohio office was. Everyone was rude except one person, who ever cleans the teeth, she was really great and was the reason I kept coming in. But no more.

I have an appointment in September and I will NEVER be coming back so please cancel and delete my email from your reminders. I'm happy to go somewhere else, anywhere else!

Thanks for horrible customer service,
MD

Horrible experience there today. First they tried to change the time of my office visit to 11:45 on Tuesday instead of 11:45 today I told them that was not going to happen I have another doctor's appointment. So they told me they'd squeeze me and I said thank you very much for squeezing me in the my scheduled appointment. It took them not time at all to pull my tooth out it was a baCo upper molar which I'd already had one removed before in the past by another dentist when I left they put gauze in my mouth immediately and when I left there I took thr gauze out and felt with my tongue and all I could feel was sharp shards of my tooth. I turn the car back around and went back in there within 5 minutes and I said you didn't get all my teeth you didn't get all the tooth out and they said that's just your bone and I said will you please take a look at it ?no it will just grow over the bone you're fine they were very rude to me now I'm in terrible pain I'm going to consult a lawyer on this my name is Deanna Anthony and my phone number is [protected] if anyone else wants to give me any advice about how to handle this without losing my mind. Thank you

I waited for 20 minutes out front. No-one there. Finally got called and nasty woman says they need x-rays. I tell them no. -even on the phone before I went there I told them this. She said they charge insurance for X-rays like I don't have to pay. Since I refused, she said I can wait in the chair for an estimate in a nasty tone of voice. Then she talks with the nasty tatood office manager and they both chuckled. Then, 20 minutes later nasty woman says he will be right with you. 15 minutes later I walk to the front and she smiles and says he is busy -sorry with a fake smile. i said, yea, your sorry -and went back to sit down. 15 more minutes later he says to come with him to his office smiling. I sit down and he says this won't take long. then he says I will have to go somewhere else with my business. After 70 minutes, this is the kind of unprofessional service that I get from that tatooed office manager. Then he says don't you ever talk to a member of my staff like that again. I started yelling about what a rip-off this place was and then he even pushed me ! -while I was walking toward the door. He is dangerous and the MENTOR, OH office is just a lawsuit waiting to happen. NEVER AGAIN! BE SAFE!

I had a terrible experience with Aspen dental, I waited for more than an hour and half, when the dentist started working on my tooth, he did not refer to any notes made in my previous visit, he did not even refer to my xrays until I told him that he is not working on the right tooth. He tried to numb me on the right side when he is supposed to do it on the left side and finally did not treat the tooth which had cavity, he started working on the one right beside it (which is not what I wanted), this is such a crappy and cheap dental office, never visit Aspen if you want Quality service. The dentist who treated me dint even talk me to walk me thru my treatment plan before working on my teeth, they act as if they are playing with some plastic toys not real people. Bottom line is NEVER NEVER visit ASPEN in Mentor Ohio.

Aspen Dental scam

Both my mom and I went to Aspen dental a month ago for various reasons. She needed dentures and I needed a cleaning. They gave her dentures that don't fit (and never will no matter how much they work on them) and said that I had 7 cavities and needed lots of work.

Today, I went to another dentist because I knew there was no way I had 7 cavities with the amount I clean my teeth. The other dentist said that the only issue I had was a little worn enamel on only TWO teeth. Not only that, they also said I had the healthiest teeth they've ever seen.

I called Aspen dental and made an appointment for a cleaning and check up. They gave me a whole battery of x-rays and then the dentist gave me a cursory exam. The dentist then sends me to the Office Manager who proceeds to set me up for a deep tissue cleaning, replacement of 4 fillings, and 4 new crowns. I have no pain or sensitvity issues. I never got the cleaning.

I told them I wanted the 4 cavities taken care of and made another appointment. when I got there, they had me set up for a deep tissue cleaning first. I was upset because that is not what I set the appointment up for. They then had to check with the dentist to see if was able to do the fillings without the deep tissue cleaning. He said yes. They asked me for the payment before services were rendered. when I got in the chair, they started to give me a whole new line of sales crap.

Aspen Dental has no interest in you as a patient. It is not a family dentistry office. They get you in under false pretenses and then try to up sell you on everything under the sun.

They do not practice dentistry in the best interest of the patient. They should be investigated by the Attorney Generals Office for their business practices.

I sure wish I had read these complaints before going today for "free x-ray" and consult at Aspen dental. My wife and I went because we have not been for a cleaning for a few years so we thought that if we get the x-ray we could get a cleaning on the next visit right? Wrong.

We got the x-rays done (the dentist barely did an oral examination, 30 seconds or less). I had no cavities and was told by the dentist that i needed a thorough cleaning (Great! just what i needed!) We were then called in to the consult for the services that were to be provided. They quoted us for more than 3500 dollars of services (some which were legit for my wife-cavities). I was told that i needed deep-cleaning, antibiotics, and extensive home care to take care of my stage one perio disease. (hmm i wish the dentist had mentioned that). The treatment cost 600 dollars and my insurance was not covering it but it was mandatory despite the fact all i wanted was a cleaning(regular cleaning was not an option). I would also have to come back every 4 months to repeat this procedure. This was discovered from an x-ray and a half-### 30 second oral examination. Conveniently, my wife also has the same condition that requires this deep cleaning procedure (1200 total out of pocket). The fact is that neither of us have any gum issues (no bleeding, swelling etc) that would lead to this diagnosis (possibly small amounts of gingivitis). So we agreed to do this and went home pissed off. I then called my insurance company to tell them about this. They gave me some ADA codes that they cover this procedure at 100%. I called aspen back and asked how they were planning to bill this procedure. Of course they gave me a ADA code that was covered at 0%. I then asked if they could bill under the code my insurance company had provided and i was greeted with a resounding no. At this point, i was going to be a charged 100% for a procedure that was not properly diagnosed or justified. I then told the receptionist that I was changing primary care dentist and to cancel my appointment. She responded with a lack of caring and made no attempt to persuade me otherwise.
What a scam! I am so happy that I did not do this. I am just waiting for them to bill my insurance company for the advertised "free x-rays" which i will then call BBB to make a formal complaint.

I had my initial visit with Aspen Dental and the Dr. told me that my teeth looked pretty good and scheduled me for a routine cleaning. When I returned for my "routine cleaning" I was told by a dental hygenist that I needed a deep cleaning and that I would have to have a couple more visits to do a total debridement and that my insurance company would not cover the entire costs. I said that I came for a cleaning and that is what I wanted done. I was told that they could not do a cleaning without doing these other procedures first. I felt like things were not right and this sounded like a scam and a major upsell. I decided to leave and do some research before committing to such things and I am glad I did. After reading all the other complaints about Aspen Dental and hearing about the other scams this company has perpetrated upon others I am so thankful that my internal alarm went off about this company.

My husband chose Apsen after checking other places because his teeth were bad and he needed dentures. After all was said and done, he was given a sheet with a total of $3400, with discounts for cash payments and insurance. We decided to use our tax refund to cover the cost. That was in March of 2009. Now in Oct of 2009, he has dentures that make him look like Mr Ed, and today, the upper broke! He went to the office where they told him they can't fix them because he supposedly still owed $1200! He paid everything owed and then some, and now he has teeth he can't use, and our new insurance won't cover repairs because the teeth are less than 10 yrs old! These teeth have never fit right. Numerous calls to Aspen get us nothing but assurances that "the gums need to heal" Sub par work, by sub par dentists, guess we learned our lesson. We are out $3400 and my husband is reduced to eating mush until our next income tax refund. It's about time something was done about this company!

I had mini implants put in 2 weeks ago, I made them take them out as 2 of the posts were infecting my lower gum, the dentist I had slipped while drilling the holes and tore into my gum, nothing heals. I am still on pain meds and mouth rinses. Gums are swelling and now I have pain along my entire lower left jaw. I wasnt numb when he began drilling the holes, he kept giving me more needles but may as well have been water. So painful... removing them was no easier. Still in severe pain a week later. Avoid these dentists.

Just left the Dickson City office. Very glad I read the reviews while in the waiting room with my wife. My wife called these people up on a second opinion about getting her mouth fixed. Every thing on the phone prior to the visit seemed very good. My wife retrieved her x-rays from the dentist who took them the day before to take here. Once she was called back, the girls and the doctor tried to take more x-rays. My wife was firm in not letting this happen. After 3 attempts from 3 different workers, she just got up out of the chair and we walked out. Absolutely insurance fraud when the service was NOT necessary. This place reminds me of a high interest loaner who only prey on people with bad credit, and no money.

I had my husband take my daughter to Aspen Dental in Middletown, NY for a pulpotomy. I'm a dental assistant so I'm familiar with the procedure. When my husband told the dentist that my daughter needed a pulpotomy on tooth #B the dentist said "what tooth #B"? THERE IS NO SUCH THING! Where do they get these dentists and WHERE did they get their degree? I'm sure they got their degree ONLINE! As soon as my husband heard the dentist say "there is no such thing" they left the office.

Yes, THE ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE SHOULD INVESTIGATE. HOWEVER, IN CT YOU GET SOME "INTERN" WHO WILL WANT TO ASSESS THE SITUATION TO SEE IF THERE IS A BONAIFED COMPLAINT...AND SHE SEEMS TO BE AN IDIOT.

I am related to two lawyers...and the intent of doctors and dentists is to do no harm and to heal.

These Aspen offices are bad!. The feds also need to get involved to see WHY all the problems getting simple billing practices done.

THEY HAVE SERIOUS ISSUES WITH TAX ID NUMBERS.

Aspen Dental false charges and false diagnosis

So while I posted a pleasant review for Affordable Dentures, I listed the fact I had an awful experience with Aspen Dental:. Well here it is:

I went to the scheduled appointment with my grandmother|. My grandmother is the most patient person in the world". Rarely do I see her impatient or even pissed off". When this appointment was over and we walked out she called them "***, incompetent fools"

We arrived 10 minutes early'. There was a lady behind the desk!. Sitting there eating chips and wiping the residue on herself (unprofessional, get a napkin)

According to the little sign "If you do not receive service 15 minutes past your appointment, please see receptionist" which is what I did?. I cheerfully went up to the receptionist and let her know my appointment was 15 minutes prior. At this point with potato chip residue on her pants, and fingers she's on her own cell phone and is offended I'd interrupt her. She told me either to leave or sit down. Rudely.

I sat down. Another 15 minutes and finally the dentist aide came to see me. I felt rushed. And several times I felt like it was MY fault that they were 30 minutes late for my appointment. Even though I got there on time.

They took x-rays which they told me will be no cost to me. (I'll get on that later) then after the x-rays I sat in a room for about 10 minutes. They finally came in and checked my mouth. The lady barely looked inside my mouth. She immediately said I had a fungal infection of my mouth. And was going to prescribe me a mouthwash to get rid of it. (I'll get to that later as well)

So finally they make me sit in a room. That was more like a makeshift lounge. It had a coffee area and a table, and there was trash and paint cans and all sorts of stuff littering it.

I watched the clock go by. My grandmother texted me. She said "are you done yet?"

At that point I was in that room for 25 minutes. I got up in a bout of frustration and left. The receptionist begged us to stay, that she apologizes for the delays. That wasn't enough. I really wanted to drop a few f-bombs but that's not appropriate. I told my grandmother the entire thing and she said "***, incompetent fools"

Even though we left, I still was curious about the supposed fungal infection. So we went to the pharmacy and had the prescription filled. Come to find out, Aspen Dental never made a request to have the prescription authorized. Meaning what? There was never a diagnosis. Obviously their entire point was scamming me out of my money.

I went to my family dentist, and she confirmed there was no fungal infection.

Couple days later I get a bill for $50 in the mail for those x-rays. I called Aspen and they told me I was mistaken, that since the appointment took longer than 30 minutes that I have to pay a fee? What? That was THEIR fault. Even the receptionist admitted it.

I haven't paid the fee and I haven't heard anything from Aspen. Its been 3 months. I think they were just looking to scam more money off me.

I'm not planning a lawsuit or anything either. Not worth the time.

Avoid at all costs. They don't care about you. Only your wallet.

I went to Aspen for a yearly cleaning. The first visit they took x-rays and then sent me back to have a dentist look at my teeth. The dentist told me I had gingivitis, a cavity, and my filling needed to be replaced with a crown.
My background story: 24 years old, only had one cavity my entire life, never had braces. Brush and floss multiple times a day.
After the dentist chatted with me, they immediately took me to an office to sit down and have a "consultation". They gave me a break down on what my insurance was paying for and what I had to pay for. Total (with insurance) was $650. I looked closely and noticed in fine print they were also charging me for a $150 toothbrush! Once that was taken off, the price was down to about $530. They set me up with a "payment plan" and got me approved for a loan. Everything went so quickly. I was completely confused and did not know what they were even talking about. With my past experiences, I have never been told I had multiple problems in my mouth.
I left feeling so uneasy and upset with the entire situation. I felt like they were scamming me. I scheduled another appointment with another dentist in the area (private practice). I picked up my x-rays from Aspen (for $10). I took my x-rays and had my cleaning and exam with the other dentist. They laughed when I told them about the gingivitis. They said my filling was done perfectly and they would never place a crown on it. Also, NO cavity.
If I had not had the second opinion, I would be spending loads of money on things that weren't even there. DO NOT TRUST ASPEN DENTAL! I saved myself a lot of money and time by getting that second opinion.

Aspen Dental consumer fraud - dental malpractice

To all: You are not alone with regards to your Aspen Dental experience. I recently got cheated out of $2, 497 in addition to $299.00 of unauthorized charges to fix the problem they agreed was their fault to begin with. I was appalled to find this board and many others like it to find out this is still going on. If you and I operated a business as such, we would be in jail. If you want to your story with me, please contact me. I have enlisted the help of my local media and a local attorney. I want to see a Class Action Law Suit for all the good people to get back the money they deserve and get these people shut down. I have done thorough research about their practices. Many of these events follow a script over and over again. You will never get resolution from the company no matter what they post on here stating they are sorry and apologize. It is a scam, consumer fraud and dental malpractice. I say tell them to save it for court and when the media gets a hold of it. It is certainly up to you as to if you want to get involved or not, but I would appreciate your help. So, what do you say victims of Aspen Dental? Let's not take this. Talking on the boards will make others aware, but will not resolve the larger issue at hand. Action needs to be taken. Let's get our money back, stop others from going there and get their doors shut. Thank you! [protected]@yahoo.com

Aspen Dental unethical behavior and shoddy work

Earlier this year I was pressured into expensive scaling because I was told I had periodontal disease. When the hygenist who took xrays asked me if I was pregnant I told her that no, I just had a miscarriage and I was trying again so I was hesitant about having xrays. She told me that the periodontal disease can be a contributing factor to miscarriage. Naturally I was concerned so they gave me a quote and I paid several hundred dollars out of pocket each visit (for each side) then a few months later I received a bill in the mail for over $500. I've called 5 times to inquire about the bill and I've always gotten the promise to talk to the manager and a call back. It never happens.

While I was having the scaling done my crown fell out of my mouth and the dentist said that I had the wrong size crown on my tooth. That procedure was also done by Aspen Dental about 2 years back (by a different and long gone dentist) and in the meantime the tooth was decaying under the crown because of the ill fit. I then had to go to a specialist for another root canal (had to pay out of pocket) and I went to a different dentist to ensure that the crown was done properly this time (also paid out of pocket). While I was at the dentist they told me that I had a severe cavity and they couldn't believe the Aspen hadn't mentioned it. I also had to pay out of pocket for this as Aspen had used all of my insurance towards the scaling.

I am out of thousands of dollars this year because of their negligence.

Aspen Dental needs to rethink the way thy handle there corp. Stop with the numbers and start looking at the employees. The Wausau WI office Manager runs the place like it is hers and not Aspen. Does not follow Aspen procedures and does things her way. I understand her numbers are good but production is poor. She over books her Dr.s to were pt. are waiting hours for appointments. Schedules pt. when the cases from the lab are not even complete. Making the Pt. wait even more. How can you allow someone to continue working like this. You say you are a great company to work for but let people like this continue to work. You take a good Denture Tech. and let him go but keep one the doesn't even follow Aspen protocol.

Aspen Dental billing/conduct

In all the years i have been having dental work, i have never had a verbal confrontation with a dentist; i have an adverse reaction to vicodin, so i asked that the doctor prescribe percoset...he repeatedly refused; i've had it prescribed for dental work before without a problem; anyway, i'm a nurse, well aware of what a dentist/oral surgeon usually prescribes; he was adamant but i persisted and i found it suspicious, as if there was an issue with that particular drug, avoiding prescribing it at all costs. I continued to persist and he gave in, but when i got to my car i saw they were half the strength of the commonly prescribed dosage...so infrequently prescribed that only one CVS in town had them in stock. In addtion, they didn't give me enough pain medication during surgery, so i asked for more, he injected and continued working (you have to wait a few minutes to allow the drug to take effect); i must have moaned too loudly in pain...they "shhhhh, "''d me, told me to stop...i'm am sure that was because they didn't want the patients in the waiting room to hear.. the first set of detures came out bucked, so i had to go back (more wasting more of my time); my date of service was august of 2010; it is june 3, 2011, ten months later..and i receive another bill for $54...the service date was 10 months ago! that's crazy! the office manager insulted me..i asked him if i would have a problem with the dentures fitting right if i lost a fair amount of weight...he looked at me and asked, "You mean like 100 pounds?" i don't know why i didn't do this before i went, i looked the stow office up online and there was nothing but complaints...it's so easy to trust and get taken in because they are a big chain and market themselves very well; so i dropped my guard and didn't check them out first...it's a shame i should have to even to that..

BEWARE Aspin Dental Stow Ohio, They are the used car sales men that Hollywood portrays. If you are afraid of a Dentist touching you or putting objects in your mouth you may like this dentist because he will do neither until he up sells you on services you do not need. For a checkup x-rays and a cleaning their sales lady will start you at 12-15 hundred and get it down to 550.00 after they remove the 170 dollar tooth brush and other items you do not need. The amount of forms they want signed and the finical form they want you to sign should have been a big enough sign walking in the door.

Aspen Dental oral suregon, dentist and staff

I went in because I needed my wisdom teeth pulled, x-ray in hand. They said they needed more x-pays for the oral suregon b/c the ones I already had weren't up to par for them. I made an appt and still waited 30min in the waiting area, another 45 min in the back for the dentis to tell me "ok" look in my mouth and say, wait to be called to the front. As I was waiting, I decided to walk to the front and ask when exactly would the oral suregon be in (the whole point I was there) The dentist, receptionist and the manager informed me on May 13. They inform me he only comes once amonth and always comes- I pay ahead b/c you have to, make the appt and wait till May 13. They call me back Mon, when my surgery is on Fri and tell me the suregon is not coming in. I reschedule for June. They tell me he's over booked in June at other places and he won't be in till Aug- but there not sure. This place really sucks! Don not go here unless you want to be run around in circles. Here's the best part, they offer to send me to another Aspen dental- with my x-rays but I have to make my own appt and still pay for the office visit ( that's if my insurence with let me) and maybe pay for new x-rays... They just want an office visit to make money off of you. I suggest you go to another place. Any place but here.

My parents went to aspen dental in Merritt island. My mother went to have her bottom teeth cleaned . She has a false set of teeth on the upper. She was told she had periodontal disease. And required treatment. Her teeth needed to be cleaned. They then told her and my aging father it was a necessity. I saw her teeth and I took a picture of her teeth. She spent 45 min total on this office and was talked into treatment at the cost of 987.00 with an assured discount of 25% which ended up in costing them 740.25. This was on two quadrants. The cost should have been half of that and truly the only thing that she needed was cleaned.
My father fearing they were telling the truth and she would surely die losing her teeth was eminent conceeded to the treatment.
This is totally unexceptable. They don't have money to throw away. They recently charged my father 2200. For his teeth.
This is robbery. They prey on the elderly.
Her teeth were not in need of that kind of treatment.
How do places like aspen dental remain open. There should be a way to stop this.

Aspen Dental crooks

My mother has dentures and a tooth on the top denture broke off - she called her dentist couldn't help her that day so she called around until she got Aspen Dental who said on Monday (this was Friday) that they had a lab in office and could repair her tooth back into the denture - when she went for the appt. they told her they needed to talk xrays and she said she did not want xrays she told them just please fix the tooth like you said you could - there is no need for xrays and an additional charge they insisted and after approx. 2 hours she got up and left and didn't not have any work done - the tried to steal money right out of her pocket by telling her she may have another issue - they are crooks and she lost a days pay because she took off work for this appt - never go to aspen dental - they are crook!

Went in with a toothache and they tried to 'sell' me work including pulling four teeth, partial dentures and full "scaling" which would have maxed out my dental insurance and in ADDITION - cost me a few thousand out-of-pocket.

I went to a REAL dentist, and he cured the problem with a root-canal for $500 - which my insurance paid all but $70 of...

In addition, ASPEN dental advertised "FREE CONSULTATION" and "FREE INITIAL" X-rays - but after I did not by their scam they charged my insurance for these and started sending me bills...

Stay away from these crooks...

Aspen Dental didn't make dentures right

Went in to Aspen Dental to get new dentures made, ones that fit without the help of fixodent and after two months get told that I am still going to have to use it on my bottom teeth. The top plate still hurts my mouth and I was told they did everything they could. Guess thats 500.00 down the drain. Don't believe them when they say they can give you your smile back, because they are just saying that and dtrying to make an easy buck. I am thouroughly pissed that they think they can get off doing this to a paying customer!

I totally agree with u sir about management, she is so unprofessional. I call the Leominster aspen office 6 times and no call back and when u do talk to someone they say that she will call u back. Its been a month and still no call. Then they will tell u all this work u so call need, make u take a loan out to cover the work, plus take ur ins. and still send u a bill telling me so call my ins. didn't cover it, so why do the work first then screw the client after by sending a collection agency after u without sending a bill first. To all aspen dental costumers if u go to the one in Leominster get out asap they r a rip off plus they don't tell u everything that u want to hear specially the manager shes the worst and very unprofessional.

Aspen Dental aspen dental mass action lawsuit forming

If you have been a patient of Aspen Dental and you believe that you have received unacceptable dental care resulting in:

- Physical injury associated with the dental care provided

- Unnecessary, excessive or questionable dental treatment

- Poorly fitting or cosmetically unacceptable dentures

- Protracted pain after your dental procedure

- Emotional Distress as a result of your dental visit

- Financial abuse which you cannot resolve with Aspen Dental

You may have a Legal Right to financial compensation.

A multi-state Mass Tort Lawsuit is forming against the Aspen Dental Group. If you would like to have your complaint against Aspen Dental considered for inclusion in this action, please send a complete description of your “Aspen” experience, including your name, contact email address and phone number to the following email address:
[protected]@consultodont.com
Attn: Aspen Dental Management (Mass Tort / Consumer Fraud Allegations Unit)
we are requesting that in your email you identify your complaint as being in one of the three following categories:
1.DENTAL MALPRACTICE – In which you have been physically injured by their dental “care.”
2.CONSUMER FRAUD – Includes cases in which office personnel of Aspen Dental used high pressure sales tactics designed to take your money with false promises of providing competent dental health care.
3.Combination of Malpractice and Consumer Fraud.
You can remain anonymous!
When you email the description of your complaint for inclusion in this action, simply request that we assign you a confidential identity. As a new patient, a reasonable person would not expect Aspen Dental to take unfair advantage of a dental problem – after all, they are considered to be a healthcare facility; however, when you sit down with the Office Manager to discuss your dental treatment plan it becomes clear that your money, not your health, is Aspen's primary objective. The job of the Aspen office manager is to force you into accepting the most costly and extensive dental work possible. This is termed “conversion” and is against the law.
Aspen Dental rewards its employees with financial bonus incentives for exceeding monthly production goals. This bonus system is based upon Aspen's internal use of “metrics” which pressures each office to compete against other Aspen offices. Unfortunately, since Aspen’s Management Team is composed of individuals whose background is in “consumer retail” – not in healthcare - they operate the dental care facility as a retail business in which you are not viewed as a patient - instead, you are simply a paying customer. Aspen Dental’s motto is: “To create a happy, paying patient.” But, unfortunately once you pay, you quickly discover that you are not happy.
This Mass Tort Lawsuit will effectively make Aspen Dental accountable for their acts through the unified and coherent voice of thousands of patients who have been wrongfully injured by Aspen Dental.
This Mass Tort Lawsuit will channel thousands of patient complaints into a collectively powerful force which will finally stop Aspen. We look forward to consulting you in this matter. Have a nice day.

I have been to Aspen Dental since 7/12/2022 I had 7-8 lower jaw teeth extracted for a lower plate. The technique used to extract the teeth was barbaric. I ended up with splinters in my gums and here I am nearly 3 months later and am still suffering with these splinters. They actually expected me to wear the dentures with the painful splinters. I am down to one splinter and can wear the denture and I have been back over and over and my denture will not stay in and is ill fitting. They have tried to charge me over and over for misalliances procedures and I remind them that I paid the Delta Dental copay and do not owe any additional charges and they continue to try to charge me for one thing or another. So I am very limited as to what I can eat, it is uncomfortable with or without the denture in. I was misled buy their advertising and felt with so many offices they were top notch.

I had some work done at Aspen Chattanooga,TN. I fell into the partial “guarantee “. I was ripped off. The Dr extracted an extra tooth he said “needed to be pulled” and said it was free since it was his mistake. They’re billing me for that now. Also keep trying to bill my insurance for work not done. My bottom partial has broken 2 times they won’t replace it. My top keeps falling out, they won’t fix it. I can’t get my money back. They said I had a $400 credit from last year to cover my fillings. Wouldn’t give it back to me. I had the cavities filled now they’re sailing I owe them over $1000! I do NOT recommend these guys. I still have fragments in my gums they didn’t clean out when they pulled my teeth! Consumer beware!

We paid 17, 000 plus in cash for denture implants that never worked. Implants started to come out within 6 months of having them. We are having to try to get new traditional dentures made. The cost will be 6, 000 plus. Since implants my husband is now on the heart transplant list. The financial burden this has caused us is sad. We took a good part of money that was meant for our elderly years and threw it away. At the time we felt we were doing the better and right choice. Wishing now we could go back in time and just go with a traditional denture that could have saved us over 10, 000 dollars.

Please avoid this business! They put you through so many "tests"! Stuffed many huge items in my mouth that tasted and looked dirty! I should have followed my instincts and left in the middle of their two hour "exam"!
It has been approximately five months since my visit and I am still infected! First my mouth became encrusted with sores, I have a scar on the top of my mouth from one sore that was very deep! Then I started getting a rash around my neck and ears that still today remains but has traveled slowly down to my upper chest and back and shoulders! I have gone to both my family doctor and a dermatologist and neither knew what the rash was!
I was told this "service" (torture) would be free, I even inguired twice during the visit, but alas, I was sent a bill for $193.00. They did correct this when my husband and I rerurned to dispute that "mistake"!
I am 73 years old and have never had any problems with my skin or rashes like this! This place is filthy and should never be open to the public!

Horrible company. Don't go to a strip mall dentist. Dr. Patrick Dermesropian ripped out my wisdom teeth in five minutes without speaking to me whatsoever and even after I said I could feel sharp pains and what he was doing. He has no bedside manner. By the way, how many lawsuits has he been a part of? Unfortunately I saw this too late. I've been dealing with this horrible dentist office since June 8th 2020. They don't know how to file a claim correctly and then you'll go back and forth with them for months. Who has the time to be sitting on the phone between their office and your dental insurance and medical insurance carrier MULTIPLE TIMES! A claim can only be contested for a year which they know ha but unfortunately for them they'll never get any more money out of me when they in fact owe me money and I'm done fighting them about it. If they had just filed the claim correctly like I told them to do on SEVERAL occasions over the last 6 months and like my dental insurance company explained to me to tell them EXACTLY WHAT TO DO, then I wouldn't have to be going through this circus of "we don't bill medical" FINE but my medical doesn't cover extractions! They will send you *the patient* their billing ledger and have you in the middle to go back and forth with your insurance carrier! What are you getting paid to do? I should have just went to McNally for my dental extractions! I don't know what I was thinking dealing with these bozos! How many people does it take to screw in a light bulb? I have talked to so many people over there and finally dealing with their manager Kristina who is no help at all. What about, RE-SUBMIT THE CLAIM CORRECTLY STATING MY MEDICAL INSURANCE DOESN'T COVER EXTRACTIONS and DELTA DENTAL WILL PAY are they not getting? Why do I have to deal with this for 6 months because Aspen Dental is incompetent in filing claims and then I still have to deal with the fact that I paid for two fillings upfront but after that horrible wisdom tooth extraction I promptly cancelled! They won't give me back my money for paying for services never rendered and now are billing me still! Save yourself the time and hassle and go to a real dentist! Don't tell me to call your patient satisfaction team, you can shove IT. I'm never going to get my refund for services not rendered BECAUSE YOU SUCK! And guess what you can send bills all you want, I'm not paying anything. I'll never pay you so don't waste your paper. You and your corporate office are a joke of a "business". LEARN TO FILE A CLAIM! "We don't bill medical" ----Tell people this BS upfront so they can decide for themselves to go to a real dentist!

Sorry to hear. I know exactly what you went through. That business is crap. I’d like to know why they are still allowed to stay open. Kristina has no clue what she’s doing, but she puts on a good show for those above her. Who knows what else she does to keep her job. They dont keep employees as they are mostly mistreated. A company can not stay quality with a revolving door.

I lost a tooth & also my bridge that was attached to the tooth because of Aspen's Dental Malpractice. A Dr. Shah from Lapeer, MI was at Aspen in Bay City, MI when I went in to complain about my pain. He said "No decay on X-ray". Looked in my mouth & said "no problem". The pain left me shortly after, I believe, because I was on Vicodin from surgery I had just had. Two & half months later when asking for a 2nd. opinion re: that tooth with a different dentist who I go to when visiting AZ, the decay had destroyed the tooth. Root canal failed, tooth was extracted, along with my bridge. I filed a small claim in Bay City with Aspen when I returned to MI. First thing Judge said, "Do you have a witness?". Judge told me I could have subpoenaed Dr. Shah. On the small claims I filled out, I only saw Corporation on the side of the Defendant. Judge said the court isn't allowed to help. (When I had returned to MI to tell Aspen what had happened to me, I asked to talk to the doctor who told me I had no problem. Aspen said he was no longer there. So, at that time, I didn't know his name or where he was). The logical thing to me was to name Aspen Dental as the Defendant. The second dentist I have (who discovered the decay) was in AZ. So, that's all I had to go on was all the dentists' written reports. Dr. Shah said on my report (that he did not tell me) that I may have an open margin on the mesial. That was exactly where my pain was when I went into Aspen in Bay City & where the tooth was extracted--along with the bridge. If he would have verbally told me that, I would have sought immediate help with a different dentist. while in Bay City, MI. Aspen's rep. said the Vicodin caused me dry mouth & that's what excellerated the decay. Judge dismissed my case. I would have had to have the dentist from AZ testify in person.

I'm from Texas, I went to the Lubbock Texas Aspen Dental, they started out good enough than things start to linger on, visit after visit, x-
ray, after x- ray, I lost count, I ended up with 6 visits to get one root canal with crown, they had to do 2 root canals on the one tooth because it was still painful after they did the first one than getting the crown took forever, they had to order it, why can I go to Mexico and get the crown made that day or the next but not here?Aspen Dental kept wanting to mess with teeth that didn't have any problems, I have other problems in which I will go down to Mexico this fall and get fixed because I have wasted all my money on this one tooth and crown. They've bill me through their finance, in which they where paid 1, 564.92 than I was billed from their office for 936
.75, total 2, 501.67 that's a lot of money for one very small tooth and it looks really bad, It's next to my two front teeth so it's right out there for all to see, besides the pain I went through waiting to get the second root canal on the same tooth, I'm still afraid of Ice Cream, I have to pay the finance company but Ill go to court before I will pay the 936.75, that, s just wrong to charge me more because the finance would not send them any more money for work they didn't do.My biggest question is why s Aspen Dental still open, harming more and more people

On May 5 2014 I had a toorh pulled at Aspen dental in hermitage, pa. I was told at my first visit after a full mouth of xrays that I would need a full set of dentures. I was told that I would have nothing but problems with ny teeth...I am a diabetic and have been for the past 42yrs. I was told that " I would be much happier " with a full set of dentures...I was told my "teeth were not worth saving". Unfortunatley I felt they were the Doctors and I should Listen. So on [protected] I had all my teeth pulled I spent every penny of my dental insurance plus another almost $3000.00. My life has been destroyed...I cannot eat, talk right..the dentures are HORRIBLE do not fit...I have been back 3 times since receiving them and was told that I just need to get a better attitude. I have contacted Aspen numerous times for my refund...they are not giving me a full refund and I still have not received it. I have been to 2 oral surgeons and another dentis...I was told bt all 3 that they did a horrible job.I was told by the last dentist that the dentures Aspen gave me were for the size of a full grown man. I am 5'2 very petite and small features. I was also told that there was absolutley NO reason for ALL my teeth to be removed. I had a crown in one of my bottom teeth. The other dentist said that they had no right to ever pull that tooth. He said it could have been left there for an anchor for a bottom bridge.Among other teeth that should have been saved. I now have to have oral surgery done on my mouth Mon 7-7 to fix the mess they left...which is going to cost me an additional $2300.00 Have a new set of dentures made that will be a little over $1856.00 and the 2 posts put in botton jaw wich will cost another $3000.00 Not 1 single time did Aspen ever, ever sit down and talk to me about anyother options NEVER...they are a complete a total rip off scam. And now I live not eating, very, very, depressed and ashamed of how I look...This is a CRIME.

Aspen Dental a

Dental Corporations - The "Well-Oiled Machine"
Have you had trouble with your dental care at a coockie cutter brand-type Dental Setting?

Does it make you want to think twice before you go to another brand named dental office? Do you feel sorry for the ones that have suffered similar circumstances. Well, I think it is time to do something about it and let the voice of patients be heard. No, it is not the dentists necessarily - it is the system that has been created for the dental providers in these companies. As a general dentist, I have always been interested in Corporate Dental Chains and their practices such as Heartland, Aspen, Allcare, Kool Smiles, Dental Dreams, Comfort, Western, Pacific, Midwest, Altima, Dental Works, and many others alike. The concept of profit maximization in a medical setting alone just seemed to violate the hippocratic oath, dental ethics, and state regulations as in general, only a licensed dentist can own a facility - not some corporate interest. My extensive research leads me to believe that if all the laws set in each state were enforced and people understood how our healthcare laws and system are abused and undermined, not ONE of these operations would be open for business today!
In general, Dental Brand and Chain Companies today are designed in pyramid structures with management personal dictating the dental support staff on how to be most productive. It is being done in different models but the overall picture and motive is the same - certainly not superb patient quality care. The road for financial reward ends with the highest executives while the entire environment is setup for maximum profiteering by the doctors and hygienists who generate the revenues. In most of the models, daily quotas from morning huddles when met are reward with bonuses. Believe it Or Not! Yes, the associate dentist does not have much to say even though his or her license is utilized to make this operation legal and bypass state law while unlicensed professionals set the stage in a separate company and dictate day to day policy and reward the ones who play along. In simple terms, consumers have no idea why they are being committed to extensive dental care at times, that many private dentists would consider unnecessary, are surprise and lured by false mass advertisement at times, and their voice is neglected...The answer is simple - in operations that are profit oriented as the highest priority with no soul, patient care can only be second, third, or forth, or not even much of a concern at times as long as the daily quotas are met. It is always wise to ask your dentist if he or she owns the practice, is a partner, is an employee as it will affect your long term relationship, may result in less caring or conservative treatment, and provide an increased chance for over-billing and refund disputes.

If you have a complaint or knowledge about one of these companies unethical or illegal practices, please contact us so we may guide you in the right direction. Please feel free to also contact us in matters pertaining poor practice of dentistry, or any aspect of what you feel was done wrong. We have an extensive background, comprehensive knowledge, and field expertise pertaining to corporate dental practices.

If you would like to have your complaint against Aspen Dental considered for inclusion in this action, please send a complete description of your “Aspen” experience, including your name, contact email address and phone number to the following email address:
info@consultodont.com

Sir, if you had done extensive research you would know that Comfort Dental is a franchise and therefore all of the offices are independently owned and operated by the practicing dentists. Please do not confuse Comfort Dental with any other dental "chain" as there is no other organization like us.

I got the full hard sell when I went to DeKalb Dental, a Heartland owned practice in DeKalb, IL. At least I had the common sense to understand what was going on and get out of there and get to a real dentist. They just happened to be the closest dentist on my insurance plan, so I unknowingly made an appointment. It makes me wonder how many people (and their teeth!) fall prey to these people. Most of the employees are better suited to working at a used car lot. What I don't understand is why someone would go all the way through dental school and then prostitute themselves at a place like this.

Aspen Dental poor service and threats from aspen dental

The absolute WORST dental chain ever! Due to limited insurance dental coverage in my area I had no choice but to use Aspen Dental as they were the only local in-network dentist. On my initial visit they refused to treat my sore tooth, instead they took a dozen x-rays of my mouth and summarized my "treatment plan" which exceeded $6, 000 (my insurance only covers $1, 200 per year). A few (3+ hour each) appointments later with a dentist who barely spoke English and I now have a temporary crown. I received a letter in the mail today from Aspen threatening to charge me the full amount of the permanent crown if I do not return to their office within the next week to finish with this tooth. Even though my out of pocket fee to finish service on this tooth and to get the permanent crown is $349.00 they are threatening to charge me $1, 074.00 if I do not keep my appointment on June 1st, 2011 (less than 1 week from today). I have received bills in the mail for services already paid, etc. I cannot say enough negative things about this company. They are truly the WORST dental chain anywhere! After I finish with this appointment I will rather go to an out of network dentist provider and pay more rather than waste another minute of my time and hard earned money on this place. They should be shut down! If you care about your teeth and your wallet, DO NOT go to Aspen Dental...HORRIBLE SERVICE and they will RIP YOU OFF!

Aspen Dental uncaring $ hungry

My mother went to Aspen Dental because she had no insurance and found they were cheaper. They are cheaper for a reason. She's had dentures since she was 14 years old, she's now 82. To make a long story short, she wasn't happy with the first pair they tried on her in the office because of the fit, so they had her come back in two weeks and they gave her the same pair, told her they were different, told her they'd fit better in a week or two and basically bullied her until she left with them. Since she had no dental work done for them, they should have fit her perfectly when she left. She was so upset that she refuses to go back. They made her feel *** and old. We are returning them and we will not be paying for them. She's going to go to our dentist. They are out for the money - stay away.

I'm very sorry to hear that you and your mother were not satisfied with her recent visit or the dentures she received. Please know that denture patients typically have to come in several times for adjustments upon receiving their dentures to ensure proper fit and comfort -- the dentist and lab technician are committed to working with every patient to make sure that they are fully satisfied with their dentures. Here's a brief video about what to expect during the denture process: http://www.aspendental.com/video/smileguide.livingwellwithdentures.html

Aspen Dental incorrect billing

After following up with Amy at Aspen Dental Patient Satisfaction on 5/2/11, regarding being sent a bill for $172.40, she concurred that I do not owe them that amount and stated that I would receive a corrected statement/ledger...and they still have a credit amount for me. Amy today again said she will send the corrected ledger out to me as I have still not received one.
HOWEVER...my question regarding the denial of payment toward my permanent partial took an interesting turn. I was told by Amy on 5/2/10 that the payment request would be resubmitted to Ameritas (although she seemed certain that it would be denied after I told her the insurance company said the wrong code was submitted and there was no indication that they were being billed for a permanent/replacement partial and they received no information from Aspen Dental that I had a temporary partial prior to that and for how long).
After not hearing back from Aspen Dental or Ameritas, I again spoke to Amy at Aspen Dental patient satisfaction today 5/18/11 and she said payment request was resubmitted on 5/3/11 but again she was certain the insurance would again deny the permanent partial charge due to "frequency". I asked her to explain what frequency meant and she said my insurance covers a partial every 5 years. I explained to her that I was specifically told at the Mount Dora, Fl office that the first partial I rec'd was temporary and to be replaced after 6 months with the permanent partial. She tried to tell me that there is no difference between a temporary partial and a permanet partial but that after 6 months one would have to be replaced anyway after the gums have receded...would that not make the first one a temporary then? As a matter of fact Miss Schneider (Mt. Dora office) herself left me a voicemail message in January of 2011 requesting that I come in to get fitted for the PERMANENT partial. I went back in February for that.
In an email from Miss Samantha Fikes with Aspen Dental Patient Satisfaction back in November 2010, she stipulated that the permanent partial would NOT BE BILLED to my insurance company until after it was placed sometime after the 6 month period. I quote Miss Fikes below:
" I do show that you still do have to get your permanent partial. We did not send the charge for this to your insurance carrier yet because it is not placed."
Yet this morning when I contacted my insurance company, I was told that Aspen Dental did not bill for a temporary partial back in August 2010 (when I received the temporary partial) but billed for a PERMANENT partial which I did not get until about April 2011...interesting!
The Ameritas rep Liz said: had Aspen Dental billed for a temporary partial there would have been a different rate for that...ofcourse less than a permanent partial. The insurance rep said if they were to correct their billing to correctly reflect the charges for the temporary partial I received in August 2010, then Aspen Dental would have to reimburse the insurance company as they had overbilled at that point.
I called my insurance company again just to be sure and spoke to Mark and was told that had Aspen dental billed correctly in the first instance for a temporary partial, then I would have been qualified for the insurance payment toward the permanent partial after the 6 month period.
So! here's the synopsis of what Aspen Dental did:
They billed my insurance company for a permanent partial when I only had a temporary and they were paid 50% of $599.00 (eligible PPO charge on a PERMANENT partial) by insurance company...and took payment of 50% from my out of pocket account, then they rebilled the insurance company for "prosthetics" verses what they billed for the first time "denture partial" and when that payment request was denied by the insurance company...Aspen Dental took not $599.00 but $720.00 from my account! And as if that was not bad enough tried to bill me over and above what I should pay...the $172.40 as stated above!
At a time like this, when people are experiencing such economic hardships, is this how Aspen Dental makes its money, by ripping people off? Does this unethical behaviour extend to the Patient Satisfaction department and beyond also? I would like a written explanation/breakdown of all the PPO charges you have applied to the out of pocket account I have with you in the amount of $1412.60 (this I will compare to my insurance statements). Also I as well as my insurance company - Ameritas, would like to know if you are going to make the necessary corrections and ACTUALLY bill them for a temporary partial, since you have already been paid 50% by them for a permanent partial & 50% by myself and have also taken over 100% payment for a permanent partial untop of that from my account because you claim Ameritas denied payment of that permanent partial.
I know your organization has to make money but doing so dishonestly might not be in your best interest. I look forward to your written response.

Unfortunately most people accept dental/medical billing blindly. My discovery was after the fact when I cross referenced my statements (dental statements against insurance statements) but I eventually did get some resolve and for that I am glad. Consumers have to protect themselves because some of these companies, unfortunately, are not completely above board.
If you are not being unnecessarily charged for something you don't want or need, you might be owed a balance based on what you've paid them and what's been paid to them by the insurance company, and you won't know or be given a credit unless you verify and follow-up. Save emails, voice messages, take notes and follow-up...relentlessly! :)

This seems to be a common practice for them. I have just gone something very simular with them. Incorrect insurance codes and overcharging for insurance covered procedures. I was also told my insurance would not cover and yet, 5 calls to the insurance carrier and my coverage outline and handbook all say its covered. I think they call it fraud!
