The Company Argoth recieved my order towards the end of July 2009, on the 24th July Dijital Hub took 46 pounds sterling from my account ( equivalent to $93 aust) on behalf of argoth for payment of my order. I was told via email on the 10th August that my order was being processed. On the 12th september I was told stock arriving very soon and an email will be sent to let me know when order is shipped. That was the last I've heard and it is now the 13th october 2009. No one has responded to my emails. Is this company legitamate or is it a RIP OFF???? I am from Brisbane Australia.

Same situation here, accepted the order, took the money over a month ago and are not answering emails. I am in the UK.

Yeah, me too. I ordered in July and got sweet f.a. Requested my money back - still sweet f.a. However, I did contact another company on the same industrial estate - would seem that someone appears to pick up mail and then leaves. Feel sorry for other people who are continuing to order with them. Still, if I'm ever in this area, I'll swing by...!

i have the same problem argoth took my money for a t shirt £20 they are not answering my emails ordered since 5th october 09 they have not got a telephone number there must be a way to get our money back any suggestions on this thanks diane

Same case with me. Ordered a couple of months ago, 2 shirts - - paid 46 pounds... waited and waited - nothing arrived. Tried to email them at "stacey@argoth.c.o.uk", and got the following reply:

It has come to our attention that certain members of our staff have been providing a level of customer care far below the high standard we expect as a company. This has resulted in a small number of our customers receiving a level of customer care not normally associated with Argoth.

We would like to take this opportunity to sincerely apologise to you for this uncharacteristic lapse and assure you we are working hard to rectify the situation.

Your ongoing patience is very much appreciated and we can assure you that your enquiry will be dealt with as soon as possible.

We value your custom and look forward to serving you in the future.

When I tried to reply to the above message, they already blocked their email account, not answering their phones either. What a shame. Next time I'll remember to ALWAYS use paypal in online transactions.. this way I have BUYER PROTECTION, in the least.

Thought I would advise you that I contacted Argoth on 01924 385 300 and spoke to Karen on Monday. I requested, again, a refund. She was supposed to come back to me after checking my account bit didn't so I phoned again on Tuesday. She then advise me that she had refunded my money £32.67 but that it took 3 working days to reach my account - admittedly I was very dubious.

Anyway, I checked my account today and the money is in.

Please update on how you are all getting on. Also, their answer machine states they are only open 9am - 12 noon and their phone is engaged a lot of the time. I just perservered until I got through so get on the phone guys and get your money back.

Hope this is helpful to you - I hate people getting ripped off.

I'm also having trouble with Argoth. Ordered 12 July 2009, Dijital Hub took money from bank 13 July. Many phone calls and e-mails followed, eventually cancelled on 28 August. More phone calls and e-mails, finally a Recorded Delivery letter on 30 September, for which I have a copy of Royal Mail Proof of Delivery.

No reply to this and no refund. It's like having your money stolen and having to pay out even more (phone calls, postage, etc) to get back just the original amount. What a rotten company.

I am in UK but too old and too far away to visit them. How do they get their accounts past the Auditors?

Here's an update to my previous comment.

I've just spoken to Karen at Argoth am a little more hopeful of getting my refund. She was very apologetic and has promised to send a cheque to me on Monday, also a confirmatory e-mail.

Will this happen? I'll let you know - after the cheque has arrived and been cleared through the bank!

i think people who live in UK will get their refund if they call and call to Karen...but me who live in estonia will never get my money back...

It shouldn't make any difference where you live - surely you're entitled to your money back in any country.

I have received the promised e-mail, after speaking to Karen, so I am now more hopeful that the refund will arrive.

This company is a total rip-off. we placed an order with them 7 months ago! They took the money but every phone call and email is a waste of time. No refund, nothing. We have sent mail that has been returned with 'addressee gone away'. Have now found another address to try: Hope this helps. It's so frustrating. I can't believe that in this day and age this type of company can do what they are doing and get away with it.

how good that you got a refund from the blood suckers but understand this if they ripped say 1000 people put in term deposit keep your money in bank getting interest then finally give you a refund they made big money i hate scammers on the net i would gladley kill them do 15years jail so others dont do the same.p.s. im going to uk next year see you in person Kate from vamires .com/uk

Keep trying, all you people. I received my refund cheque and it has cleared through my bank. (Obviously, I'm still out-of-pocket with cost of phone calls, postage, etc., but it's still good to get the refund.)

Since September I've been in phone contact with Consumer Direct: phone number (UK) 08454040506; website www.consumerdirect.gov.uk who have made a note of my experience with Argoth and they have passed the information to Trading Standards for the appropriate investigation. I told Consumer Direct about the number of complaints and comments on Complaints Board website, and said I think there could be many more unhappy Argoth customers out there.

If you go on to Consumer Direct website, they also give details of UK and International authorities with whom they are in touch on consumer problems, so that may be useful for those of you who are not in UK.

I've got into the same situation as you guys - orderded £52 worth back in June, received nothing. Got a call from Karen promising a refund - nothing so far, so keep chasing them up. Called Traiding Standards and requested the refund in writing -no luck so far. Shoulnd't all of us file a collective case?
