Applebee's - horrible service

I had a party of four, college age, go to Applebees. We all ordered wings. It was 45 minutes before we got out wings, which are an appetizer. Our waiter told us that they had a misunderstanding in the kitchen and it got busy. However, they were not very busy and we saw families come and go before we even received our food. When we asked to receive our food for free because we were at the point we were going to leave because it was taking too long, the waiter said "i don't think that can happen" and went to get his manager. The manager threw his employee under the bus and said it was all his fault and he was probably lying about putting the order in. Managers should not do this, they are in charge, they are responsible. So we asked if our food would be free and he literally laughed at us and said no I think I can take five dollars off and maybe get you dessert. It was the worst dining experience I have ever had. Our waters were never filled, once. I would never go back to this location, even for a free meal.

We went to the Applebees in Andover, Ks. for supper on Sunday July 29th 2007. We arrived at Applebees at 6:00 PM with a party of 9. We did not have to wait for very long before we were seated. After a few minutes our waitress come to take our drink order. She greets us by saying, I just want to let you know I am new I've been here for two weeks, I'm blond and from Arkansas and I have a bad case of hives. She could have left the last part off. I guess we that should have been our first sign that we should have left. One person should have got salad with her dinner, she got it after we had been there for an hour and 10 minutes. We were sitting there without food for 45 minutes when the electricity went out for about 2 minutes. We were waiting on our food which should have long been there before the lights went out. We asked when we would be getting our food and the explanation was that the window was full of food but it couldn't be passed out until the computers were back up and running because they didn't know were all the food went. We waited for another twenty minutes before our food got to our table.

We have now been there for an hour and a half. The food to say the least was luke warm or cold. I had the Fiesta Lime Chicken, the chicken was burnt, when we called the manager to the table for the second time, her comment about the chicken was she was sorry she told them not to send that out like that, my mom had a house sirloin which she ordered medium well and it came out almost rare, my daughter-in-law ordered the Aloha Burger which came out with the bun soggy. Needless to say a bad night at Applebee's, we were comped our entire meal, did they really think we would pay for that? Oh and before we left the waitress came back to the table and apologized and said "See, I told you, you would make my hives worse." I looked at her and said "That was not our fault!" It will be a long long long time, if ever I go back to a Applebees. Customer serve sure isn't what it once was!

I have had numerous complaints with AppleBees. Well, I cannot sincerely say numerous. I have only been there 3 times.

Letme explain my situation. The first time I went, it was good.

The second time, it was for my brothers birthday. The waitress, however, took 1 look at us, and quickly used an arrogant tone, staring at my mother (whom is white) and us (my brother and me, whom are tanned) and making a head movement as to say "no." We get our drinks after half an hour, and she slams them down, and their was a strange material floating within it. We suspected it was spit. Gross. Later when we finally recieved our food, 1 hour after we arrived, it we ate, and promptly complained to the manager. Our biggest problem- with the black couple next to us, she was cheerful and laughing. When we asked for desert, she got VERY mad and then asked as if she didn't care. We complained, and got her fired.

The third time happened just last week. We moved from the area of the last AppleBees, and we were hoping this one was different. It was. And that's why we're never going there again.

Our Waiter had a Nike Arm Protector, to cover up his tattoo's. This really didn't affect us. He was helpful and happy. And my mom got her food. My dad, me, and my brother, on the other hand, did not. After 30 minutes, we recieved our food and my mom asked for hers again, since it was cold. We asked it not to be microwaved. He came back holding it with a towel. She went to the bottom and it was cold. They put it in the microwave and put cheese on top. We had not sipped fromour drinks or eaten any of the food. We spoke to the manager, and then promptly complained. Also, our food had been spit in. Pieces of lugee were found.

AppleBees has tried to play us for fools. We did not follow. We are very avid eaters. We eat out all the time. Now, for 6 years, we have only eaten at AppleBees 3 times. Where we were before it was great. Then we moved and got horrible service for the last 2 years.

AppleBees lost out on a lot of money.

AppleBees, please get better chefs and waiters. Thank you.

Went to Applebees for lunch and had to wait 20 minutes to be seated (no big deal) we were seated and shortly after being seated they allowed a karate demonstration near the front entrance that lasted about 30 to 40 minutes with lots of yelling and clapping (very annoying for what you expect to be a nice quiet lunch)! Then they allowed someone to walk around a sell raffle tickets for the karate demonstration (another anoyance). We ordered our food and waited at least 45 minutes while people around us you arrived after us were already served and done eating. When our food arrived it was cold to the touch and we refused it and left. It was the worst experience I have ever had dining out and I will not ever eat at Applebees again. The last time we ate there the service was horrible, but we gave it another try and this was just ridiculously horrendous! Our waiter used the excuse that the whole karate thing was making everything confusing and assured us that our food would be hot (we asked him if the delay would make our food cold) and then another server brought our food and my pasta was cold and my husbands chile fries were cold and soggy: my sons chicken tenders were also cold! We went to Elephant Bar and Grill and had extremely fast and curteous service and a meal that was hot and delicious. You need to check into this, I don't think that we were the only patrons who were upset. The complaint sight for Applebees does not work...apparently they don't want to hear about peoples complaints!

FREE? SERIOUSLY? I could see if they offered it to you for free but to ask for a free meal instead of asking "How do you intend to make this right?" is just preposterous. Good God!

Applebee's has started sucking a long time ago. My husband and I went to one in Andover, KS for our anniversary one year and the waitresses looked like they just rolled out of bed. Their shirts were all dingy and their hair was frumpy. The food gave us the screaming ### and I emailed Applebee's corp to complain. In about 5 minutes I had the Andover, KS manager calling about it. I told him I was from Illinois and lived in a college town. The waitresses did not look like they were hungover and were well dressed and their hair was up in ponytails and appropriately styled. Sad to say, customer service is almost non existent these days. Whether it be in person or on the phone.

Obviously she was trying to use humor to lighten the mood. Some people are just to uptight to get it

Why would you go to Applebees with nine people? If you're going to dine out with a party, go somewhere decent-Applebees is crap

One bad experience does make an entire restaurant chain bad. I have worked for restaurants for years, and sometimes someone interviews very well, does great during training, and as soon as they are on their own, they don't give damn.
