Improper Charges

I subscribed to a service that provides background checks on individuals. This service was offered by INTELIUS.

I noticed my work VISA was receiving unauthorized charges from an entity called AP9*VALUEMAX. I called AP9*VALUEMAX and was informed that I was signed up through my association with INTELIUS. Apparently there was a 10-day trial membership (that I don't remember) and then subsequent monthly charges of $19.95.

I asked the AP9*VALUEMAX operator / customer service representative for an invoice, a receipt, or a statement from the company stating what I was being charged for. She said that could not be provided and all I could do was get a billing statement from VISA.

AP9*VALUEMAX is clearly operating a shady business. They claim to offer discounts for travel and common purchases. I have not received any literature from AP9*VALUEMAX stating what the bargains are that I am entitled to as a member (and that is after a 3-month membership).

AP9*VALUEMAX needs to be identified as a predatory / hoax organization. VISA should alert its' cardholders when charges from this company appear. This is not a way of blaming VISA. It's simply a suggestion for a tool VISA could offer its' clients.

Thank you for your consideration in this matter.
