AOL Visa Card: Here's a cute little trick from the folks who like to offer you "exceptional services" when you call. Don't believe it. I had been a good customer of this card for some time, but had paid it off and hadn't used it for awhile. Then began the letters promising a good rate if you would take out a cash advance or transfer balances. The letter always said: This is the amount you can take out..in my case 14,500. What they fail to tell you is that if you take out that amount, you will get your very FIRST bill with the agreed upon transaction fee, which they will count as ON TOP OF THE balance amount on your card, making you go over your limit, then charge you a $35 OVERLIMIT fee on top of that!!!! Can you believe it? Nothing about this is revealed in the solicitation letter...you are supposed to figure this out for yourself and subtract the transaction fee up front from the amount you ask for.....What extortion and deception...this should be against the law!!! Can't wait to pay this off, cancel this card and every other Chase card, my AOL online account and anything else I can find associated with this rip-off!!
