AOL E-mail

For over two days now, both incoming and outgoing e-mails are sporadically not going through. I've spoken with tech support repeatedly and only gotten a run around. Being told we know there's a problem and you'll just have to wait until we fix it is not customer service. i was promised a call back within 24-48 hours with an update; needles to say, never got one. How does one actually engage with someone, anyone who can fix the problem?

AOL Your news

To Whom it may concern,
I am really tired of seeing in the daily headlines, "So in so's wardrobe malfunction" always about a beautiful woman. Isn't there anything more interesting to report? Why don't you report about men's zippers being down? It's stupid and it makes you look silly and shallow. Please change it or tell me how to keep this worthless nonsense off my radar.
Thank you

AOL Thay won't take my money and send a bs message every day

I have 2 accounts with aol the first account is about 12 years old w/o any issues regarding credit card use. The second account is about 2 years old and I pay $4.99 each month for each account. About 2 months ago I was informed I needed to upgrade my credit info. I have obediently upgraded about 20 times and get the same results...there is an error can't update. I went to the bank to reassure everything was fine with my card and it's not my issue. I have sent emails and notes to these geniuses w/o success. Right now I am waiting and will use this BS as entertainment and to see what they are going to do. Isn't that great a tech company that can't fix their system to get paid?

AOL Email

Deleting unread email.

When I read email, I normally delete it. However, I leave it there among unread email if I have a reason to refer to it again. Also, when I go through my unread email, I often delete items that I do not want to read, but may keep others which I have read but which I do not want deleted. This worked fine until the last few days, when AOL has started deleting whole batches of email both unread and read if I have read a few of them. In the last few days I have lost hundreds of emails which I had not read but did not want to delete. If I cannot stop this deleting of unread messages, I will have to get another email service. This will be very troublesome for me and I do not want to it, but what else can I do when AOL continues to delete unread maii?

AOL your news

When I get on my computer to read the AOL.com news, I am disgusting. They may or may not put pertinent news on the front lines, but they are good at relaying the stupid skimpy outfits Hollywood stars are wearing. That's just one example of their junk mail. They totally release the same news over and over and even weeks later will repeat something uninteresting. I was involved in the Southwest Airline Debacle a couple weeks ago and it was a horrible experience; yet, I was amazed at the people who had not heard about it. My phone today released an alert news regarding the Delta Airline shutdown. I get on my computer and among all the headlines Delta was not mentioned. Then in small print below the headlines there was an article on it. What is up? That is more important than me hearing something silly that someone does. Wake up your news department! Darlene Oetgen

AOL Email

I've been a member of AOL since 1996. I've tried to cancel the service on numerous occasions due to the absurd amount of SPAM received. AOL always had more stalls than Santa Anita and the cancelation never happened. The last attempt was about three years ago and they begged me to stay at $11.00 per month instead of the $23.00 I was paying. 4 months ago I noticed that the fee was still $23.00 and never was reduced as promised.
I've spoken with several people about this situation and to a person the stories were similar. I have a new slogan for AOL; It's like the Mafia, "you can get in, but you can't get out". My only option was cancel the Credit Card that was being billed for the service...that didn't work either. I get messages when I do look at AOL that state I owe XXX.XX and they will have to cancel my service if I don't pay up! I received a call last week asking for payment. I asked them why I would I pay for a service that was free to new customers and was inferior compared to GMAIL. They offered to settle for 1/2; I countered with No, kindly go pound sand. I still have AOL.
How can you miss them when they won't go away!

AOL Unauthorized charges, bogus customer service

Keitha Brathwaite
8-6730 Boulevard Des Laurentides
Laval, Quebec Canada H7H 1N6
[protected]@hotmail.com
Tel: [protected]
Date: February 19th 2015.

Dear Sir/Madam, this is one of many attempts to resolve the issue of fraudulent charges to my Scotia bank Power chequing account Transit number 34272 Branch number 002 Account number 0322822. Since October 2014 when I signed up for online banking and was made aware of the unauthorized charges to my, account by AOL Canada Services or AOL Services Incorporated. Before this discovery I was totally clueless.

Below I have attached the letter I wrote and sent to their head offices.
More than once I have attempted to resolve this matter on my own with the company without a lawyer. I am “mad as hell”, that a large corporation like this will steal money from innocent, hard-working people.
Imagine I had to pay my bank to get the proof of unauthorized charges they denied existed. Since then they have been playing a game with a form or Affidavit of some sort. They promised to send it to me to reimburse my money. I haven’t received the form; they confirmed my mailing address numerous times and supposedly mailed it more than once.

I was only able to get proof of unauthorized charges from 2008 to 2014. But AOL Services Inc. has been stealing from me and my children way before 2007. I never signed any contracts with them and I don’t know how they got my account information.

Lucky for them my bank only keeps records up to 2008 to reduced system backup. From March 26th 2008 to June 24th 2010 the sum of $26.20 x 26 = $681.20, From July26th 2010 to July 24th 2012 the sum of $26.95 x 15 = $404.25, From September 26th 2011 the sum of $53.90 x 1 = $53.90, From August 24th 2012 to October 24th 2013 the sum of $30.19 x 15 = $452.85, November 25th 2013 to May 23rd 2014 the sum of $31.58 x 7 = $221.06, June 24th 2014 the sum of $63.16 x 1 = $63.16, on July 24th 2014 the sum of $94.74 was taken, on August 25th 2014 the sum of $126.32 was taken and September 24th 2014 the sum of $157.90 was taken. I put a stop payment in on October 8th 2014 and I called AOL Customer Service line that very day. Since that time I have spoken to their fraud department and faxed and mailed info they requested from me to Billing, Services and Operations department. Anyways they still owe me 8 years of funds, totaling $2, 255.41.

Now I know I am not the only victim of this scheme. Millions of people in different countries all over the world including US and Canada have been defrauded for years like me. Without using AOL services and without setting up preauthorized charges to their bank account.

This confusion had me questioning if I dealing with; a real company or a bunch of call centres set up in different countries to steal money from people’s credit cards and chequing account on-behalf of large corporations. Seeing that every department I contacted at AOL requested info from me, which I was more than willing to provide to get my money back. They keep telling me that they will send me an Affidavit form and they need me to fill out and return to them with my bank statements. Months have passed and I haven’t seen this form. Matter of fact is; I don’t even know if the form exists so I called them many times and they reassured me that it was sent. I don’t even know if the person I spoke to Rick is actually from AOL’s head office.

Everyone I talk to is more interested in collecting my personal or financial information. I already provided some bank statements, but not all, because they show reluctance to address the real issue, since 2003 they have been taking money from my account, but I only have proof from 2008 to 2014. I refuse to deal with this matter on my own anymore. Please help me in whatever way you can.

Thanking you in Advance,

Sincerely
Keitha Brathwaite

AOL Customer service

I spoke with a representative because I could not reset my password. Rhea the customer service representative did not assist me and repeated put my on hold for long periods of time. Even when she was on the line she delayed responses and it was as if I was the only person of the line. When I questioned her about why I was put on hold so long and so many times she stated it was because she couldn't assist me. I then asked to speak to her supervisor who also would not help me. I asked if there was an office or other number I could call to receive assistance and she refuse to give me any information. She spoke over me and I asked her to allow me to speak and she left the phone. After ten mins of me waiting on the line to receive assistance from her she hung up. Prior to her hanging up I called back from another phone and explained to the new rep Sahehi what the issue was with both Rhea and her supervisor. I informed him of how important it was for me to reset my password. He assisted me and was patient which I can't say for the rep and her supervisor that I spoke to prior. I don't understand why the supervisor felt it was appropriate to leave a customer on the line an then hang up. These individuals were not only unprofessional but are in the wrong field if the are unable to help people. I have bhad an aol acct for over three years and I deserve better treatment and I also believe they were a poor representation of the company. This experience was horrible and it should never happen again.

AOL Email hostage

My AOL Nightmare

All I wanted to do was reset my GoDaddy password. The instructions were sent to my AOL email. I attempted to login and it prompted me to reset my password. I followed the instructions and it said that they did not have enough information on the account to reset it and I would have to call. The site also provided me with a case number.

I proceeded to call AOL and after a 15 minute conversation trying to spell my username with someone who barely spoke english they reset my password. I logged into my account and had received 9 emails (picture) about my password reset as well as advertisements. Then to my surprise ALL of my emails had been deleted from my inbox, old, sent, it was like a fresh account. I complained and asked to be transferred to the manager-the phone call ended.

I called back and after 20 minutes they picked up. A lot of "Sorry" and "That should not have happened" took place. They transferred me to the tech support department who proceeded to tell me that I had to upgrade my account to a paid version in order to get my emails restored because that was the only way I could talk to a representative. Email Hostage!

I left out a lot of the details but I am irate. I will never use AOL again, and will never recommend AOL to anyone (I haven't since the early 2000's).

I have had the same AOL email acct for over 22 yrs . A few hacks from jerks to use my acct to send spam were quickly rectified by English speaking agts "" . 5 days ago when logging in I get msg "UNUSUAL ACTIVITY ON ACCT " We have locked it . The Ph number I used to set up my acct in 2000 was a Landline of my business . I never changed to another number assuming it would be sold to telemarketeers " like most co's that collect Ph #'s . This number has been

unused since the person I sold my business to went bankrupt in 2016 and the Ph # was no longer working . So in the span of 3 hrs I contacted 3 agts from Asia, Romania and GOD knows where else . I was polite and did everything they asked to prove my I.D. . Including I-phone photos of my TX drivers license I've had since age 14 . I'm 72 now . they said sorry they couldn't ID me. I was frustrated at best . They said wait till Monday {this was Thurs. } that the system needed to reset" . In other words tired of fooling with you . !. So I patiently wait till Monday 2 pm . After 1 1/2 hrs with {ANDY} in Philippines who acted like my best friend . Went thru all the "hoops" again . Said sorry drivers LC. could not ID me . I had another AOL email I used for EBAY purchases . They located that and it "helped" but not quite enough . I had put in a security question yrs ago when opening acct . It was name of my School . Ok, 20 yrs ago I did not recall if it was grade/JR High/ or High School . I went with High School . Madison High . Or maybe I put complete name "JAMES MADISON HIGH " After much denial from them I gave my Class 1968 and All info on my diploma on the wall . Ok they say Congratulations . Now take each letter of school name and form a new word to make a different word . An utter assinine question . M=MIKE /A=apple/D=dog/I=eye/S-sorry/O=onion/N= Nathan . Sorry wrong ! I went off the rails and Andy finally relented and accepted my 58 yr D/L and my security Question answer . Most stupid crap ever . Then in order to turn my email back on which was frozen due to AOL lack of security not my fault ! . I must purchase a "secure email plan for $15.99 monthly ! blackmail @ its best ! Now Andy was no pal " He would not take no for an answer after no less than 10 no thnxs on the plan . Email on AOL is free !So they could freeze anyones acct and hold ransom over you till you buy this useless plan . I will never recommend AOL to a soul . I went directly to GMAIL . Hope this helps you avoid a corporate theft .

AOL Thieving money

I just had AOL pull 77 dollar off of my card. I've never had service with them in all of my life. I filed a complaint with the IC3 and I think anyone else who has a problem with them should follow suit. Outrageous! I don't even know how they got my card number. They cleaned me out of over half the money in my account that I left there for bills! My whole family hates AOL and we wouldn't order from them to save our lives.

AOL AOL have got to be the worst broadband company

I’m getting thoroughly fed up with the hassle of trying to cancel my AOL Broadband subscription. I have recently moved in with my girlfriend who already has O2 broadband, so the AOL service on my old (rented) flat is simply no longer required. I contacted AOL, and the cancellation instruction seemed to be accepted OK. Just to be sure, I wrote to my bank, asking them to cancel the payment at their end too. Then, when my subscription date came around, surprise surprise, the payment was taken out of my account. I initially phoned my bank, who explained that the payment to AOL is by debit card, rather than Direct Debit, which means they (the bank) can’t stop it at their end. However they did offer to put through a chargeback claim, to get the money back from AOL.

I also contacted AOL who apologised, and confirmed that my service had definitely been cancelled. Needless to say, this month the same thing has happened again. It’s only £20 but that’s really not the point – is there no way to stop these people taking money for a service they are no longer providing?!

Please AOL, get in touch with me and help stop this aggravation happening again.

AOL Unauthorized charges

I to have charges from this place. If this provider is not affiliated with AT&T then why
on earth are these charges on my monthly phone bill and included in the total.
Sounds like a connection to me.
What a crock. How do they get away with this.
$197.40 to be exact. Charges on 3/16, 3/18, 3/19, 4/5, 4/6, and 4/16. and these just
now showed up on my phone bill

I have been an AOL customer for over ten years. About two years ago, I purchased DSL through Charter Communications but I wanted to keep my AOL email addresses. AOL offered me a package for $ 9.99 per month. I took it. For about one year, I was charged $ 9.99 per month on my debit card. Then all of a sudden, I was charged $ 109.99 on my debit card.

Immediately upon learning of the error, I contacted AOL by email and contacted my credit union to inform both that this was an error that needed to be corrected. After writing several emails to both AOL and my credit union, I have not received one dime of a refund.

I like AOL as an ISP. However, their accounting and customer service policies are horrible. In my opinion, AOL's practice of charging a debit or credit card more than they have been authorized to charge is fraud and should be treated as such.

I know that the extra charges, etc are not mistakes because if they were mistakes once the mistakes were brought to customer services' attention they would be corrected. No such luck with this company.

I am extremely disgusted that a company of this size would continue to take advantage of their customers.

AOL AOL technical support emails about virus

For the last several days, I have received e-mails from Mouhajer 1. I knew that it must be a virus and call the technical support service to check into the 30+ e-mails that I have received in recent days. I was connected to people in India and after paying $190.00 for a service plan, I am still receiving the e-mails. They detected nine viruses on my computer and supposely cleaned the system. If I do not get a response from my complaints, I will be looking for another internet carrier. AOL has certainly been a disappointment! I would advise everyone NOT to deal with AOL.

If they found 9 viruses on your computer you should probably get your own anti-virus software. As for the emails, use the spam filters to stop them,

AOL stalking, harassing, hacking

My name is Susan. My email address is [protected]@aol.com. 12 years ago, I received an email from an AOL.com member threatening to stalk, harass and hack me. For 12 years, I have stalked, harassed and hacked via aol.com. THIS complaint is about aol member, [protected]@aol.com who has been ALLOWED by aol.com to harass me 10 times in the past 3 months. This stalker sends me UNwanted amails. This stalker puts me on thousands of spam lists. This stalker sends me VIRUS and trojans. I report this member every single time and AOL is allowing this stalker, harasser, hacker to continue to harm me. I have saved copies. I have 12 years of this identical harassment through aol. The hacker group also stalks and harasses me in other ways and uses other emails. I know this group very well. This is the ANONYMOUS hacker group.

AOL Beware

It is not a simple task.

You may not cancel online, imagine that. I not only notified them online to cancel my service and I forbid that they continue to make automatic withdrawals from my account.

Well, they did it anyway. I will be waiting on pins and needles to see if they can actually cancel everything properly.

In case you don't know, you must either make a phone call or send a fax.

Isn't it amazing that they don't make it that hard to startup service with them?

Of course, the entire time you are on the phone trying to cancel, they are trying to talk you into keeping the service, and then get snippy when they finally really it's a lost cause.

For 10 years of my life, I have attempted to convince myself that AOL is not worth my aggravation...I have had billing problems, ID theft, CLONES, harassment, you name it... There was a time somewhere in 2003 that I was billed for 15 hours when on an hourly plan, when my computer was off and sitting on the floor of my closet not working... (I switched to monthly and hourly depending on my situation at times...but NOT this time...) I had to argue with them for months to take off the charges...THEN I was billed for "Privacy Guard when I didn't order it...System Mechanic when the trial ended...(and I called to cancel)...I was STILL billed...ahhh let me see...viruses, hackers, BOTS and worms, spyware you name it...and things I have forgotten (thank goodness)...AOL has always "Sugar Coated" the truth I think...about everything...The lovely AOL Cafe' once again refuses to listen to my latest plight concerning "Clones"...it is AOL's answer that "Clones" are allowed under the AOL "Rules"...imagine that? A twin...an evil Twin no less...lol Well, seeing that I am not a "Paying" customer any longer of the lovely ever so concerned AOL...I suppose my argument is not valid...in the meantime...I continue my weekly calls...someday...in this lifetime...AOL might listen to the customers instead of worshiping the almighty dollar...

AOL E-mail service

After paying AOL for over 15 years last night our service was canceled without warning. In addition two weeks ago my computer was infected with a McAfee virus- McAfee also provided to us by AOL. Had to deleted McAFee and replace with Micro Trend to rid virus. Had to delete the over 600 returned unknown address messages . I called AOL to notify them of this- Hours of phone calls to tell them that we did nothing wrong have served no purpose. We are both in the technical field and do work from home and access to our account is imperative, yet we have been punished with no prior notice. I even sent the AOL "Community Action Team" a letter as they asked and was told this morning by a technician that "There is no one at AOL that can reactivate your account" ... wow. Wonderful customer service. Thanks AOL for treating us like criminals. I have finally reached a voice mail for TIm Armstrong, CEO of AOL- Wow there are no live people there.

You should go with Norton Security. Also I cannot understand why anyone would want to purchase AOL or any other sites when MSN and Yahoo are free. You get free mailbox with both sites and they are most widely used sites. McAffee doesn't catch all viruses or trojan horses, but with live updates that Norton automatically downloads daily catches all. I use the 3 in one CD that I buy directly from Wal-Mart in my computers.

AOL Fraud

TWX AOL has been withdrawing funds from my account each month for the past two years according to my bank statements. I have never used AOL, I had no idea how this could happen. I learned that with the purchase of my Dell Laptop two years ago, which had come with the option of using AOL as my internet provider, also came monthly charges. I had never used AOL, or given them permission to withdraw money from my account. I have always used AT&T for my ISP, and I receive a billing statement from them, along with the amount I owe each month.

I would like to impress upon to the rest of those whom has experienced this involuntary blatent type of cyber crime, it is THEFT, it is FRAUD, and it is a CRIME that will not be tolerated. It should be pursed to great lengths, perhaps too, great sacrifices. These Companies, and Parties there of, who are responsible for such illegal practices need to one day soon beheld accountable and to be penalized in a harsh and costly manner.

If the current laws in your state have not yet caught up with these unlawful acts of modern day scams, robbery, or LAISSEZ-FAIRE, then we must all take swift appropriate action towards bringing these conspirators to justice.

Complain to the BBB; call The Consumer Protection Agency listed in your local phone book, call your Congressman, and State Senators, file a Fraud Report at your local Police Department, call your local TV STATION, call, call, call, and above all put a stop to it with your Finacial Institution-close your account if necessary.

It is the responsibility of all to ensure the certainty of our destiny. Refuse future victomization by taking action today.

ACT NOW. GOOD LUCK & GO GET ' EM.
