I signed up for individual health insurance through the American Trade Association. Their medical claims are administered through Smart Data Solutions. I tried to get prescriptions through my card and it is not covered. They say the are getting a new plan, but did not inform anyone. Their phone goes unanswered [protected]), or it is busy. Their website; http://www.myatabenefits.com. doesn't work either. This is either an incredibly poor run organization, or a scam. I suspect the later.

They automatically take money out of my checking account each month for their premiums. There are reports all over the internet on SDS Smart Data Solutions. I am going to stop the premium withdrawls and report them to my bank as a fraud. If you are thinking of signing up with this insurance, don't. If you have them stop payments at your bank now.

SDS was a hige scam. I had them as my "insurance provider" throughout my pregnancy. They were supposed to cover 90% of all of my bills, they covered nothing and now I am left with over fifty thousand dollars worth of bills. I hope everyone scammed by them joined the class action and that all of the victims actually receive some compensation soon. These people belong in jail.

Unfortunately the new health reform will be a repeat of the banking meltdown and mortgage lending mess. Middle America is a victum once again. If there is no governing agency watching we are opening up ourselves to a sunami of fraud and this is the beginning.

I have had this insurance for our family of 4 since March of 2009. We have had trouble with them paying all claims. Only after calling and calling the 800# did we receive only small portions of the claims paid. It has been very frustrating, but we couldn't afford a better plan and felt we had no alternative. I am extremely dissapointed in ATA and feel scammed and want to receive reimbursement somehow. Does anyone know how to go about this?

My husband & Myself also had a health insurance plan with this same company starting september of 09 also none of our hospital dr visits etc have been paid, tried many times to contact this company only once actually got to talk to someone & to be told that all our claims were still being processed or still being held for payment.

As of this date april 30th none have been paid, we also contacted our bank to stop payment to this company, we have been reading a lot of stories on the internet, its very sad that people want to take advantage of people trying to do the right thing to look after their own health care decissions.

I am going to contact the commissioner of insurance to file a complaint on this company.

today is april14, 2010 and i am having the same problems! can not make contact with anyone. I did get a website for FBI to file a complaint, www.ic3.gov complaint #i0912151506456011. I suggest you all do the same.

This insurance IS a scam and definitely fraudulent. there was an article in the Tennessean at the end of March discussing that the offices for this company in Springfield TN had been seized by the regulators secondary to fraud. The 'owners' have been using the premiums to pay off personal loans, give to colleges and pay their children.

My wife has had this insurance through american Trade Association since January 1, 2010 and no doctor and blood work, tests,
hospital, etc. have been paid. SDS has told us that it has all her charges in process, none have been paid, even the ones from January.If you think about it, thats to long for processing. They never have paid any prescription costs and they told us also that
they were getting a new plan and she would get a new card and gave me over the phone information to give to the pharmacy to
get them paid and get reimbursed for the prescriptions we had to pay for since the old plan no longer handled them. Get out people
we were scamed too.
