American Airlines unfair refund policies

Last April I booked a flight for Last July with American Airlines through Orbitz. I then cancelled my flights through Orbitz because my husband (at the time) had a kidney transplant and could not fly) I did this on the website but also called them to be sure. I received a full credit for the flight to be used for a future flight with Orbitz on American Airlines.

When I was ready to fly again, I attempted to book a flight through Orbitz using the credit on my account. I as informed then that there would be a $200 RE-BOOKING fee charged by the Airlines.

I contacted American Airlines and was told that there was nothing they could do because I had booked a "non-refundable" ticket.

No where on the booking sight does it state that I am booking a non refundable flight. No where on my itinerary either.

After several attempts to get my money back I am turning to you. I am attaching the emailed correspondence for both Orbitz and American Airlines.

This is not a fair policy and I wouldn't be surprised it if weren't illegal as well!

Message: I contacted an agent relaying a medical reason for cancelling my travel plans. He told me he would take care of it and get my money back. I contacted American Airlines they do not even have me booked in the first place.

I requested my full refund and will travel at another date on American Airlines but paying a $200 rebooking fee for a flight that AA is not even aware of.

It is a simple request---my husband has gotten a kidney transplant and has been grounded per doctor orders.

I have proof of his medical condition if that is necessary.

Reply from Orbitz

Dear Sheri-Lyn,

Thank you for contacting Orbitz regarding the cancellation of your flight reservation.
We are sorry to know that you will cancel your flight reservation because your husband has gotten a kidney transplant and has been grounded per doctor orders.
We check the email address that you used to send this message and it shows that you have a round trip flight from Knoxville, TN - TYS to Atlanta, GA - ATL and Atlanta, GA - ATL back to Knoxville, TN - TYS and it is already booked and confirmed. Also, you have purchased a flight insurance for the amount of $19. We advise you to contact the AON and ask if they will refund the insurance if you cancel the flight protection. Thank you for contacting Orbitz regarding the cancellation policy of your flight reservation with American Airlines.

We apologize for the delay in answering your request. We are currently experiencing an extremely high volume of endorsements, preventing us from responding within our normal standards.

It is our understanding that you are not amenable with the reissuance fee. Please be advised that since you booked a non-refundable ticket, the policy would be restrictive. To modify or cancel your reservation, the policy of the ticket should be followed.

American Airlines our unwise choice to fly american again

We have been trying for weeks to purchase seats on our flight to munich. Our cruise agent tried to talk us into using delta/air france instead of american. She said they had a terrible seat policy. Little did we know how bad it was. The times for the american flights worked for us so we made the mistake of not listening to her. They only offered middle seats in the middle section. All others could only be purchased by elite, platinum or gold members. This article explains their unethical tactics:
https://thepointsguy.com/2016/03/choosing-american-airlines-seats/

We currently have $1, 000 worth of vouchers from our american airlines trip in july 2016.in la we sat on a hot plane on the tarmac for 3 hours, our flight ended up being cancelled until the following day, then delayed again. When we arrived in miami one of our suitcases had been run over and split open. When we flew back to la we had 3 gate changes due to faulty aircraft. We were only delayed 3 hours on that flight. We take 4 vacations a year and are seasoned travelers. We were stupid to book on this airline again!

American Airlines very uncomfortable flight

I booked a flight for American Airlines and I must say that was the worst flight in my life. I'll never use this airlines again because they are absolutely terrible and unprofessional. Their on board staff was terrible and rude, you should have seen their faces!
Also, when I made my booking for American Airlines, it was said that there will be a TV there and a meal provided. And what I received? There was no TV, no Internet connection, not even a newspaper to read. And as for the so called meal - small cookie and a small cup of tea.
When I asked for a blanket they said they don't have one. They said that flight was too short for TVs, full meals and warm blankets. Short? It was a 7 hour flight and it was terrible! Never again!

American Airlines delayed baggage

I recently travelled from BWI to JFK and then EWR to London Heathrow. I would like to make a complaint about the service I received in JFK and request compensation for the extra cost due to their error but I am struggling to find the appropriate route and wondered if you can offer any advice.

My suitcase was lost between getting off the plane and it getting to the carousel for me to collect it. I had another flight to catch from EWR at 6:40pm and I landed in JFK at 1.26pm. I booked a shuttle to take me to EWR for 2.10pm assuming that 40 minutes was long enough for my luggage to arrive. My luggage had not appeared by 1.50pm so I went to the baggage desk who told me they'd call and find out where it was. They took 5 minutes to actually make this call as the two attendants were having a personal conversation. I told the lady that I had another flight to catch and that I had a reservation on a shuttle in 15 minutes. The women finally called someone who told me just to wait, it would come. By 2.15, having now missed my shuttle and knowing I was meant to be in EWR by 4.40pm to check and the travel between airports being 1 hour and 30minutes by taxi, I told the women that I wanted to file for a missing baggage so I could do and hopefully still get a shuttle (with an estimated time of 2 hours travel). I wasn't allowed to do it as I was told as my next flight was international, they couldn't do that. I told her again that I was going to miss my flight and she called the office and then told me they couldn't find my bag but to still wait. By the time it got to 2:30, I told her I needed to file the missing bag claim because I needed to go. She then told me the system was down so I couldn't do it. At 2:40 I said I needed to file the missing bag now manually or I would miss my flight, she finally let me fill in a form.

I went to the shuttle area to be told the next shuttle was in 5 minutes. I waited for 5 minutes before asking again where it is and if they had booked me on it. I was then told my shuttle help desk that oh no, they hadn't booked me on it and the next one was now an hour away. I was left with no option but get a taxi. I was running (literally) out the airport when I saw my case surround by some guys talking about how to get it to me. I grabbed my case and ran out the airport and had no other choice but to get a taxi the hour and a half journey to EWR. The taxi cost me $152.30 instead of the $31 the shuttle would have cost me if the baggage claim had let me sort my bags quicker or if their airline hadn't lost my bag in the first place.

Where this was the fault of AA or JFK I don't know but I do expect some sort of compensation for this unnecessary cost, hassle and stress.

American Airlines aadvantage miles

On Nov 15th, I received a call from American Airlines notifying me that my 50K+ reward points would expire on Nov 20th (5 days from the call). American Airlines "claimed" that they sent me emails about my expiring points, but no emails were ever sent. The representative gave me 3 options to choose from to keep my points from expiring. Pay $100 to keep my points active for a year, buy miles which would cost $61.71 for a measly 1K miles or book award travel within those 5 days. I asked if I could open a Citi Aadvantage MasterCard to keep my points active. The representative said I could, but that I would need to spend $5K in order to get the bonus 50K points when all internet offers required a much lower spend: $1K or $3K. Why would my custom offer be so much worse than offers for public consumption? Is it because American Airlines prey on folks that have expiring points? I then decided to shop in the Aadvantage online mall on 11/17/16 in order to generate activity on my account, which was another option that American Airlines never told me about. I ended up getting credit for my purchases and my points got reinstated, but I think it's really disingenuous of American Airlines to provide their customers with such terrible options. The credit card and Aadvantage Mall were never specified as an option, but luckily I'm resourceful. I think it's really shameful what American Airlines is doing to their customers and it should be revealed to the public what kind of shady company American Airlines really is.

American Airlines overbilling

I bought a roundtrip ticket from Charlotte to Frankfurt, Ger. in june . On the way over to Germany in July they reissued the ticket at a $139 premium over the receipt I had in hand and had just printed at the Charlotte airport with my boarding passes that all show the same original ticket number . I had not asked for any changes in any aspect of the trip, seats, baggage etc. They cannot explain to Chase my cc company or me why they reissued the ticket at a new ticket number during the flight and refuse to refund the $139 they stuffed onto my credit card . Beware cc stuffing by them and be sure to keep not only the original ticket receipt but also the boarding passes so you at least have a factual basis for the complaint . Their corporate response has been to limit or eliminate the option to print a receipt at the kiosk so folks would have to go to the counter for such in the future if dumb enough to fly them . I wonder how many millions of people have been stuffed by AA .

American Airlines fraud! looking more like wells fargo / attorney general please note!

I had purchased a flight on American Airlines for vacation, leaving Flagstaff to BWI. Our flight was 0700. We went online the day before at 0700 to print out boarding tickets. The first flight, Flagstaff to Phoenix was fine, we were
given seats 13A and 13B Then it prompted us to the next flight were no seats were assigned. There were 6 seats available but when we clicked on them it said $28/each. What did I pay $318 for ? to only pay for another seat? It would not let us print out anything until we chose a seat so we had no boarding tickets. We called the airline twice to hear the same instructions that if we didn't want to pay the money, we would have to get our passes at the ticket counter at the airport. I then called Expedia and relayed the message to them. They tried to put in for two seats but they were not allowed either
I sincerely hope that someone will look into this, my next step will be to contact my Attorney General's office on Monday. These people are being deceitful and dishonest charging people twice for a ticket.
I am definitely not speaking well of American Airlines to all my friends and will never use them again. There are too many other honest airlines out there

There should have been a link to let the airline choose your seats. I have flown AA many times and never had to pay unless I wanted a specific seat.

Things have changed. They won't even let me purchase seats. We are stuck in the middle section, middle seats. The are plenty of seats left, but you have to be Elite, Platinum or Gold to purchase.

American Airlines lost luggage

I was travelling with American Airlines and these guys actually lost my luggage. I had two suitcases and one was lost. I have spoken with American Airlines representatives and they promised to find my suitcase but they did not even try!
Then I asked them to refund me and they said they need some extra time and said that they guarantee that they will 100% find my stuff. No, that did not happen! I travel quite often and never had these kind of problems.

American Airlines worst airlines ever

I have booked a round trip flight via American Airlines and when I received my tickets I noticed that my surname was written with a mistake. I contacted American Airlines right away and asked them to fix everything but they immediately said that they were not responsible! After several calls they finally agreed to fix and said that I need to pay extra money for that kind of service. Well, the whole thing seemed like a scam. If they had that kind of service why didn't they offer that in the first place? Looks fishy to me.
American Airlines - is terrible, I would not recommend them to anyone.

American Airlines flight attendant

On may 11, 2016 my wife and I were on a flight from dallas to hong kong. (16 hour flight). We flew business class. When I got on the plane a steward, peter lou, employee number 666259 asked me if I finished my newspaper. These were my papers, not given to me by aa. I said no. I also took out some personal papers I needed to review for my trip. This was a business trip. He asked me if I would mind giving it to another passenger. I said no problem. At that point we were served dinner, started watching a movie and we fell asleep. I did not even look at the newspapers. I did start reviewing my work papers. When I woke up all my papers were gone, including my personal papers. When I called the head stewardess and told her the situation she asked me if I knew who the steward was. I said I would recognize him which I did. He was confronted and he apologized in writing on the plane, so aa cannot deny it happened, but never gave me back my papers. Naturally neither my wife or I could fall asleep after this. I complained to aa customer service only to get the same answer I did from the crooked steward, "sorry". This is totally unacceptable. I now must travel back to complete my business and aa will only say sorry. I would never trust to fly aa on a long flight where I may fall asleep again. They never even told me what happened to this employee. He probably still works for them even after being caught stealing from a passenger. Remember this next time you need to fly. Would you trust them? I wouldn't. Remember "you could be his next victim.

American Airlines american airlines needs to improve its "purchased" food selections.

On a recent flight I bought - bought - a "Bite into delight. Handmade Sandwich - Pastrami Sandwich- Rye Bread, Pastrami, Cheddar Cheese, Cabbage, Carrots, Red Wine, Mustard, Mayonnaise. Contains: Milk, Wheat, Soy..Chelsea Food Services, Honolulu Hi 96819."

It cost almost $10.00 and was "terrible." It was ice cold - Pastrami is usually served "hot" ala "Hot Pastrami Sandwich". I am glad I didn't get sick from eating a fatty meat like pastrami ice cold. This food did not belong in a freezer! I hope you can improve upon your food choices and if you continue to offer Pastrami, please keep and serve it at a more appealing temperature. I believe I deserve reimbursement which I hope you send. Your logo is on the wrapper which I still have. It is a white with some green printing, black/blue printing, and black/blue description of sandwich. The label wrapped around with two green tabs on each end. sealed closed.

I live at 1888 Kalakaua, 901, Honolulu, Hawaii 96815 to send compensation. Everything else okay and this sandwich would have been okay if it had at least been warm. Thank you.

American Airlines racist/ unethical behavior

To whom it may concern:

My daughter purchased round-trip first class tickets from lga to ord. On her flight back to new york on sunday, march 13, 2016 (Flight aa365), she was subjected to humiliation, racial profiling, ridicule, and embarrassment. She was one of the second last passengers to board the aircraft, and the flight attendants gave a white woman from economy her seat in first class during the final boarding process. She told the two flight attendants, that that was her seat and presented her boarding pass. They laughed and said that it was “too late” and that they “gave the seat to someone else”. It was literally a white woman who boarded seconds before her. When she tried to fight for her rightful seat, they refused to listen and told her there was no seat for her in first class and forced her to sit in economy (Seat 20d). They claimed that it was “too late in the boarding process”. However, a white male passenger that boarded after her was allowed to take his seat in first class. Additionally, the flight did not leave until 45 minutes after the scheduled time, meaning that these flight attendants could have easily rectified the situation, but they just refused to do so. I am disgusted, shocked, and appalled by how my daughter was treated. She paid to have that seat. It was rightfully hers. They just gave it away and laughed at her. We emailed american airlines, tweeted about the situation, sent a facebook message. There has been no response. Nothing. Color of money is green, not white, black, brown or yellow.

Our family has given american airlines business for more than 15 years and my daughter has flown this route for the last 6 months and this is how she gets treated.

I should also mention, I also had a gate agent GIVE AWAY MY SEAT 30 minutes before boarding! they are only allowed to give away your seat if they don't think you will make it for boarding! as in 15 minutes before take off! damn this happened to me several times...I also had a gate agent change my seat without my authorization that it invalidated my boarding pass at security!

I TOTALLY believe that this happened because something similar happened to me. Although, I don't think on my part it was racism, rather stupidity. Especially since its a short haul flight...I assume that it was a American Eagle agent. American Eagle gate agents do not know their fare codes!

I had purchased a confirmed business class reward ticket using BA Avios points. The night before the day of departure, I sent a direct message to AA twitter account to cancel my flight in order to stand by for a later flight the same day which I can do since I am a Platinum status with AA.

When I arrived at LGA to stand by for my later flight. I first spoke to the ticketing agent and I asked her to make sure that I would be standing by as a confirmed business class ticket holder. She then responded rudely saying something along the lines of "Look I have been doing this for over 20 years and I know what I'm doing. I don't need you to tell me how to do my job". Unfortunately that was the beginning of series of incompetent AA employees messing up my reservation.

Soon after, I headed over to the Admirals Club and spoke with club angel who assured me that I was #1 on the standby list as a confirmed business class ticket holder. The club angel mentioned that there was 1 business class seat available, and assuming that the standby list isn't changed and nobody else purchases the seat, I'd likely get that seat. She also asked me if I was ok to fly coach if no business class seats are available. I responded that I was okay to fly coach if there were no other seats available.

As it was near the boarding time, I went to the gate to see if I cleared the standby list. Gate agent proceeded to clear me from the standby list. She told me that there IS in fact a business class seat available but since my ticket was an economy reward ticket that I was not qualified for the business class seat. I explained to her that I had booked a business class reward ticket and that I was assured by the ticketing agent and the club angel that I would be flying on standby as a confirmed business class ticket holder. The gate agent insisted that my reward ticket was economy as it was coded as a U. I would like to point out that the gate agent was incredibly rude, and she got louder and louder disdainfully emphasizing that my ticket was a REWARD ticket and how dare I try to pass it off as a business class ticket. ANYONE WHO FLIES ALOT KNOWS THAT A FARE CODED U IS A BUSINESS CLASS TICKET! Long story short gate agent called over the supervisor and even supervisor said its an economy ticket. They gave away my business class seat to someone else and then put me at the worst seat in economy.

AND GUESS WHAT! I took it to supervisors manager and upon investigation they realized they ROYALLY MESSED UP! because it went to corporate, the managers of Admirals Club - everyone knew about it. The thing is AA agents, especially American Eagle agents DON"T KNOW THE FARE CODES. So they will mess up like this. As this has also almost happened to my sisters as well...but since I blew such a stink over it the manager knows my family and he had to come correct the gate agents on several occasions on their stupidity. I mean if I know the fare codes shouldn't they?

I TOTALLY believe that this happened. It might not be due to racism but more like due to complete stupidity on the gate agent. Don't get me wrong there are some amazing AA employees out there and I am also quick to let people know about that but I know that a lot of the gate agents don't know their codes.

First, I do not buy this whatsoever. First class is the first boarding of every flight after special boarding customers, and you have to have a FC ticket for it to be scanned for the FC section. FC seats are not given away or rebooked. A paid FC seat is left empty if the passenger misses their flight. Your daughter lied to you.

American Airlines damaged luggage during a recent trip

On our way to board a cruise in San Juan in late November the airline damaged a brand new hard shell bag. This was reported to the claims desk upon our arrival and a form was filled out. The agent stated that the bag was badly damaged and should be replaced. Since I had not heard from them upon our return from our cruise I contacted them via email to find out what is going to happen only to receive a computer generated reply that they will look into it. Since then every 2 weeks I send them an email reminder only to again get a computer generated reply. No answer yet to resolve my problem. It's been almost 3 months. Very poor customer relations.

American Airlines cares airplane safety harness not permitted on recent flight

We were returning from JFK to SD on Tuesday, January 5 with our 2.5 year old daughter on American Airlines. Prior to takeoff, the flight attendants told us that the pilot indicated that we could not use our CARE Airplane Safety Harness during taxi and takeoff. We informed the flight attendant that we had used the harness on 11 previous flight segments including 5 in the last 2 weeks including an earlier flight that day on AA Flight 101 from LHR to JFK and 4 previous AA flight segments last October. We also told the attendants that our toddler would not remain seated without the harness. She would release her seatbelt and squirm. We also told the attendants the device was FAA approved and that the pilot was not correct. The flight attendant accused me of ‘jumping down my (her) throat’. They let my daughter stay seated with the harness until a few minutes before take off when finally another flight attendant told us the pilot would not take off with the device strapped to the seat. We had been in transit for over 20 hours, so in desperation my wife held our daughter during takeoff. It’s the only way she’d stay ‘secure’ without the strap. We believe the flight attendants and pilot are poorly trained, poor in customer service, and endangered our child.

American Airlines lost luggage

Luggage did not arrive with my flight. Called central number a dozen times over 6 days. Still no luggage. The handlers at San Diego airport have failed to answer phone calls, emails, voicemails, texts. I was referred to baggage resolution, however, I was on hold over an hour with no answer. No one returns calls. How do these things get resolved?

American Airlines customer service at boston logan airport

Dec 17, 2015. Four months ago I booked tickets from Boston to Manchester UK via Philadelphia. The first leg was delayed due to weather and I missed my connecting international flight. I was sent back to the ticket counter at terminal B where I stood for the next hour as a miserable AA rep and her supervisor told me there were no flights to Manchester UK. Having done this trip with different airlines for the past fifteen years I knew there were. It was 6.15 and plenty of time to get me to the UK. They refused and and said I would need to return the next day, have two connections and a journey time of over 20 hours. The woman was on her cell phone, complaining that she had to pick her son up and had to leave. She flat out lied and said I had confirmed seats for the next day. She actually put me on a stand by flight in JFK. I will never ever fly American airlines again. They are rude and incompetent and do not care if people get to see their family at Christmas or not. I still am waiting for a flight and my bag is somewhere in Phily. Calling their 1800 numbers is useless. Everyone tells you something different. Bottom line-spend an extra $150 on your tickets because American Airlines do not deserve the business

You are angry that someone did not care if you saw your family when you did not care if she picked her kid up on time? There probably was not a flight out that night, which is why you had to be rebooked the next day. NO airline can control weather, and NO airline can magically make a flight plan appear out of thin air. You do not act like you know much about flying.

American Airlines disfunctional - don't care airlines

Today is 7 oct and wife and I are not in dominica! Long story, and very sad…… we awoke this morning at 2:30 to get the last of the things done around the house necessary to close it for the 6 months we would spend in dominica. About 3:45 am, a buddy of mine showed up to take us to the airport. We got to eppley airport about 4:30 and had boarding passes about 15 minutes later. Went thru tsa in a breeze – best tsa screening ever for us – very quick….. We walked to the departure gate and found a place to sit next to the gate work area. There was activity that early as a flight to dallas was just before ours. The dallas flight departed and our flight departure was suddenly changed from 6:05 to 6:59! What gives – no american airlines rep at the gate would say anything. The only announcement they made was that the crew would be there shortly (25 minutes) (Already post departure time). Lynn went to the gate folks and inquired about the flight, particularly because we had a connecting flight in chicago to sju. “no problem” says the guy at the gate – the other flight is late, too, so all is well. You will have plenty of time. Our flight finally boards and departs – well over an hour late.In flight, the pilot announces that the delay was as a result of “crew rest time” as the original crew for this flight got in late the evening before. We were never able to identify if this crew was the late night crew or a substitute. Point: aa cannot identify when crews are over time and new crews need to be on hand to make a scheduled flight? Or, aa simply does not care! We get to chicago, go like hell to the gate for the sju flight and get there just in time to see the aircraft preparing to pull away from the terminal. We were not allowed to board as the “door” closed 10 minutes before we got there……. At that point, one of the aa reps proudly hands us boarding passes for the next flight to sju – several hours later. I ask “…how about the connecting flight following that one?” big blank stare, a look of pure shock on the guy’s face – he never looked to see if there was anything else on our itinerary. Now there is a supervisor involved, both banging away on the keyboards…… of course, they have nothing for today as there is only one aa sponsored flight a day into dominica (Dom). Finally, out of the goodness of their hearts, they offer to put us up in san juan for the night – but the catch is that the next available seats on seaborne (Aa affiliate) to dominica are on 15 oct 2015 – understand, a week away and they want us to sit in sju waiting on the aa sponsored flight …… then they offer to let us sit in chicago! I was not happy. It was not our fault that the flight crew was so late getting us out of omaha……. We finally got new ticket vouchers for 15 oct on the same set of flights as originally set up by liberty travel (Good folks). Aa flew us back to omaha. Omaha – chicago – omaha in one morning – a new first…….. One small point, our luggage is now missing in action – aa has no idea where it is – they are hunting……. And the luggage cost me $50 for this mess….. I hope it enjoys the trip… later, when putting in a “claim” for our awol baggage, I find out from an aa employee that aa had no idea the crew was out of flying time and could not even find them in the morning? Had to have the hotel get them…. At least that was the story from the ground crew personnel we talked to about the flight. We grab a ride from the airport back home. I now have to get a vehicle out of storage so we have transportation for the next week. House needs to be partially un-mothballed so we can live here. Then, I had to get the phone and internet back, the water turned on and all the stuff one must undo to a house set up for a 6 month closure. Ok – aa, they screwed me good and I still do not have luggage for which they pay nothing if lost. I lost a week of vacation, a party tonight in dominica for a dear friend, cost back to the house, a day shot in the butt, lynn badly upset for a long period (And that is terrible on her health) , $50 for baggage fee, etc…….. We have flown aa twice in three years and have been abandoned by aa on both occasions – the last was in sju in the same kind of thing – their flight getting in late and missing connections….. And they didn’t give a good care! Update - - friday 9 oct - - aa found the baggage - in sju but it was just sitting there per the aa rep on the phone - no instructions to return it to omaha. She doubts aa can get to omaha by the time we depart on 15 oct - - super aa! Also, aa offered a $200 voucher for our "next" aa flight for our inconvenience - - I lost that much in just apartment rent in dominica due to aa..

American Airlines aa hates their top tier passengers

I was called last night to see if I would give up my CONFIRMED 1st class seat on American Airlines flight 2332 because they were "oversold" I said I couldn't take a later flight because I had business appointments in Chicago. When I arrived at LBB (first segment was LBB to DFW) I was told I no longer had a seat on flight 2332. As 15 year executive platinum this has never happened. The REAL reason was they changed equipment to a smaller plane. Apparently they did not have EVERY seat filled on the original equipment so they inconvenienced the customers of a 787 to make a nickel. This happens frequently with AA. They LIE and bump even their most loyal customers. This merger had been a HUGE mistake. It has gotten horrible and if you complain, they do nothing. I have had it with them.

American Airlines deceitful

On 90715 my flight got delayed and finally after 6 hrs got cancelled till the next morning. Only that the connected flight in Dallas had a 5 hr hold over. Flight was to be out of Ft lauderdale to Dallas and final at Ontario California. Spoke to the ticket agent at AA and he tells me that Miami has a flight leave at 0710 the next morning and that its a straight flight to LAX. He said he would upgrade me to 1st class he would give me hotel, meals, and transportation voucher for the inconvenience. I got the transportation food and hotel squared away.

Now the day of the flight I'm at the ticket counter getting my boarding pass and checking in my luggage. Ticket agent try's to charge me again for my luggage that I had already paid for on the cancelled flight. After a few minutes she says ok and it's worked out. Now for the boarding pass, she hands me a regular sitting assignment not 1st class. I tell her that I was promised a 1st class and she tells me that he can't do that because I had purchased a coach pass. I tell her that not my problem I was promised a 1st class by the ticket agent. I told her that I changed my entire itinerary back home because I would be arriving a day late due to the cancellation and for the 1st pass. I could of gotten home sooner by changing my connection flight to a different state the same day of my cancellation, yeah I would of gotten home late but it would of been better then a regular flight the next day.

The ticket agent showed no courtesy or offered any kind of customer satisfaction. She was rude and could not be bothered by my dissatisfaction.

This is my second flight with AA that I get less then satisfactory service. The prior flight they lost my luggage and once it was found they returned it to my residence and inside my luggage I found broken items that were not replaceable.

I will never fly with AA again and will go to extremes to let my family's ly and friends know how poorly their customer service is.

I work for a large Union that supports its members nation wide. I will request Union wide alert of the way AA operates.
