Credit Card fraud

Complaint Rating: 89 % with 18 votes
Contact information:
amaland.com
United States
Signed up for a 2-day trial at amaland.com adult website for $1.02.

I canceled the subscription after 2 days because the website (an adult amateur portal) was terrible.

2 weeks later, multiple unauthorized $10 charges to my credit card appeared from adult 800 phone numbers that were untraceable on the web. Luckily I caught this on my statement after 2 unauthorized charges, closed my account, and filed a fraud complaint.

DO NOT under any circumstances give amaland.com your credit card information, they will defraud you thinking you will not file a complaint because it's an adult website. Either that, or their website is unsecure for protecting your credit card information.

BEWARE!

I have a similar experience. Signed up for a $1 trial, however I cancelled within a few minutes as the content was not as sold (and seemed suspiscious as a resut).

For the following 4 days I had $200 worth of charges from companies such as 'lss grp' and 'pim access', as mentioned above these bogus companies are registered as phone marketing companies to help disguise the link back to amaland. Either way, I will be providing my bank with the amaland URL, the least of my worries is some random bank teller knowing I surf porn.

Additionally, from the moment I provided my email to amaland spam increased 100 fold to that account.

Avoid amaland, it is a phishing site under a different guise.

Amaland stinks of scam - Signed up for a 2 day trial for $1 but didnt pay with credit card details, instead it gave me a number to call from my mobile phone and a PIN number to enter during the call.

Charges were $5.50 per minute which I thought okay fair enough it shouldnt take long to enter a PIN number. So I entered the PIN number and the robotic voice told me to click ENTER on the site to activate my membership. Here is where I should have hung up straight away - you have to keep the call connected for 5mins in order for the 2-day trial to activate.

After 5mins elapsed it said my account was ready, it displayed a login and password to use on the website to access the members area.

Well I copied and pasted the username and password into the members login box and it didnt work. After 3 invalid attempts it brought me to a page that said ACCOUNT BLOCKED - CONTACT SUPPORT.

When you click Contact Support it takes you to another website that has some help topics etc. There is an option to submit a ticket which doesnt work - it tells you to select a department but there are no departments to chose from - so I tried clicking NEXT anyway: Error - please select a department. Another dead end.

There was an option to register so I thought hey I might need to register in order to submit a ticket properly - nope still doesnt work yet another dead end. So now these guys have my mobile phone number, my email address and full name.

I am thankful that I didnt use my credit card and hope they cannot do anything with the details they have. They already managed to scam roughly $28 via my mobile phone at the start - here's hoping the charges were in fact $5.50 per minute.

I know this is an old complain so not sure about that far back but I signed up for a membership there three months ago and didn't experience any of these issues.

I signed up for a month and got a bonus membership to another site so when I got that email I called the number on their support page and they canceled it after going back and forth trying to find the membership. After I used the membership to Amaland for 3 weeks I decided I wanted to cancel but this time I submitted an ticket instead and was surprised that they actually replied saying I was canceled and no more charges would be posted. Like I said it's been approximately 3 months and no weird charges have appeared on my card. Hopefully this means they cleaned up their support/billing?
