It's a scam. . . Do not purchase with this club! I went through training there and they teach you how to sell ''air''. The managers teaching us referred to this product as ''air'' and showed us how to sell ''air'' to clients! They sell a discount program. Members of unlimited vacation club receive 25% off hotel rooms, but if you go through expedia or any online travel service, you'll find cheaper rates than they can get you. The cost of this membership to stay at secrets, zoetry, now, dreams or any other am resorts is $50, 000 for a 50 year membership! If you continue to say ''no'' to the price, they will drop the price all the way down to $5, 000 for a 10 year membership! The more you say ''no'' the lower the price gets. It's all about the commissions to be made and their paychecks.

Am resorts / unlimited vacation club is a new company, just a few years old and it's the worst company i have ever worked for. I have been in the vacation industry for many, many years and i do own a vacation club membership, as well as a timeshare, but never would i buy anything from am resorts / unlimited vacation club. It's companies like this one who give vacation clubs and timeshares a bad name.

Many people complain about how timeshares and / or vacation clubs rip you off and don't work, but if you know how to use them properly, they definitely work. My husband and i, along with our family, have vacationed all over the place, including going to different countries, and i can honestly say that we would have never been able to go and stay in 2 or 3 bedroom suites if we didn't have our timeshare or vacation club membership. It's been great being able to travel and stay in luxury, but with am resorts / unlimited vacation club, to pay even $5, 000 upfront just for a 25% discount is crazy. They also use rci, the same exchange company we use, but to exchange my time to go someplace different, we pay $200. 00 and unlimited vacation club charges $549. 00 to make the exact same exchange! They rip you off in every which way they can and have no problem doing so. They don't have the consumers best interest in mind, only how much money the company will make.

The resorts that am resorts / unlimited vacation clubs have are absolutely beautiful, but to pay that kind of money to get only a 25% discount is ridiculous. If you do decide to join the club and find you have a problem, forget about it, you're on your own.

For the first time in my many years of being in the vacation industry, i had some problems with discrimination and defamation of character and i tried to resolve these problems by trying to contact the ceo of am resorts / unlimited vacation club, alejandro zozaya gorostiza, and after numerous emails and calls, i received no response at all from her. I also emailed numerous times with absolutely no response to the executive vice president, gonzalo del peon, the vice president of sales and marketing, collette baruth, and the senior director of sales, matthew mullen. These people in this company didn't even have the courtesy to respond to any of my emails just to see what was happening at the unlimited vacation club. It has been 2 weeks with no response from anyone. If they can't respond back to the people who make them money, do you really think they will respond back to you if you need some help? No, no and no!

There are so many timeshare and vacation clubs out there that have what am resorts / unlimited vacation club does not have like integrity, professionalism, compassion, and honesty. Do your research about the company before you ever give any company your hard earned money. If you go on a presentation and they say '' this offer is good for today only'' they are lying. You can go back anytime and receive the exact same package they offered you. They do that because they want to earn your business that day and for no other reason. This applies to both timeshares and vacation clubs. Even if they have you sign a paper stating you can not come back the next day, or any other day, and receive any of the first visit incentives, you can. Those papers are all bogus! They try and tell you it's a legal document and it is not.

So my advice to all of you is to stay clear from am resorts / unlimited vacation club. They are filled with empty promises and all they want is your money for purchasing ''air'' so they get a paycheck that week. Trust me, i worked there, but only for a few days. I quit after i saw how they were scamming the consumers.

Best of luck to everyone and happy vacationing:)

Sat for the three hour tour, which took 4 . Don't bother. You lock in to save 25 % (only in off times). You have to take every vacation at an AMResort even the desperate three year offering was not enough to get me to sign up. To even conceder this you have to be a person who can afford to go on a vacation like that every year or more. But I did get a free hat, cup, bag and towel . LOL just had to give away four hours of my holiday time I paid to have. Hard sell for sure but I never buy till I can research a thing. They could save themselves a lot of hate by just handing out a information pack without the pressure.

Hello, we are from Chile and we were also cheated by Unlimited Vacations Club.

In December of 2015 we stayed in Hotel Now Larimar in Dominican Republic and we were pressured to attend a presentation of the Holiday Club "Unlimited Vacations Club". In this presentation we were offered a membership in the club, with many benefits and values of very attractive accommodations, we were served champagne, loud music and pressed us to the extreme for more than 4 hours, finally ending up signing.
We thought that everything was fine, until we tried to make use of the benefits and to quote accommodations for our vacations this year, where the benefits were extinguished, the periods requested are not available and the preferred values offered were never real, on the contrary, we It is advisable to buy vacation packages from Chile at lower values than what is charged by UVC.
Based on the above, we need to cancel the contract with UVC and recover our money, but they threatened us with fines and on collection costs that increase the debt to very high values.
We appreciate your support and advice to solve this UVC scam and recover our money.
Inquiries:
.- Someone has managed to cancel the contract.
.- It is advisable to give non-payment order to the remaining installments of my credit card.
Thank you.

Wife and I bought into the program while at breathless in cancun, yet I'm feeling apprehensive about it after reading reviews. I did the math, and the numbers are in favor of us, but you must travel and use it. I dont know why everyone isnt posting their plans and total costs, it would at least help everyone figure out a price point since you have to negotiate that heck out of them...Here's the deal I negotiated after saying no thanks a few times.

26k fee- 30yr silver membership w/unlimited booking - no pre-pay penalty- 9% rate
850 closing cost
3, 000 signing bonus credits
1, 500 RCI bonus credits
35 free resort nights- this was the biggest perk
840 exchage weeks via RCI
3 nights to an upgraded/preferred room
2 bottles of champagne ($140 per bottle)- they threw this in
$350 in SPA money and $200 excursion

I regret not bringing these reviews to the sales persons attention as I was consumed with the math and breaking even on the investment. I'm not taking any sides, just very interested in the other's dealings.

I have 1 more day to withdraw from the contract as I am in day 4 currently. Not sure what to do.

I had stayed at the Secrets St James and loved it so much I booked another trip to another Secrets, but that time, Secrets Marquis. Both were so wonderful that we decided to buy into UVC. From my point of view, with two free weeks and one other week at $1500 in the package, we'll just about break even. We bought Pearl level, no travel during holiday times, but we knew that going in. We will need a couple more trips to make it break even and we're heading out Dreams Riviera Cancun in Feb 2017 (for a week). After that we think we'll save about $500 or more per trip. For this upcoming trip, we took advantage of their promo price of $200 for the room. Online prices of the same room were in the $400 range. We booked on the UVC website. So you can save money, but you may have to compromise a bit and play the game. You're not likely to get great prices for high demand properties like Secrets Maroma or Wild Orchid. Our disappointment in the club is lack of upgrades. We have not had one yet, but then we know it's subject to availability. Perhaps some day (but not in high season right?) So far we we've only had one "not so good" experience. That was Secrets Huatulco. The service level was disappointing. The resort was however beautiful. I can say we enjoyed our free time at Secrets Capri.

The value of the club is there if you do a bit of work to make sure you get the best value, otherwise you pay very much close to tour prices. I'm not sure I'd call UVC a scam. Sure some sales reps might feed you some lines; write the promises down. Then, if you're worried about what that say is true, ask them to point it out in the contract... Each one, the exact section that defines it. Then read it yourself. Do that. If you have any questions feel free to E-mail me bbrennert @shaw. ca.

Ugh, We are victims too. After trying desperately to use this for the last 5 years, we are giving up. I'm temped book a trip and dump several bottles of booze in the pool but all that will do is ruin someone else's vacation. I would be interested in adding our name to a class action lawsuit. I guess it comes down to buyer beware. I could go on with details but we are like all the rest. Regular travellers and wary of time shares. It's very disappointing as I truly do like their properties and have stayed at several.

The other tactic would be to print up some t-shirts about it being a scam and wear them in the lobby on your next trip! Just a Thought

I can't add much to what everyone else has said other than to say I totally agree. We paid to go to a nice resort and when we got there we were encouraged to listen to their sales pitch. The indicated that we would receive two free trips (which wasn't the case) and that we would receive access to RCI and could go on a trip through RCI for $125 first year. Nothing happened. The trips are extremely expensive and seem to cost more using their service than if I booked it through a travel agent. We lost a considerable amount of money like everyone else. I wish someone would start a class action suit against them. They keep claiming they aren't a time share. They are right about that. At least a time share gives you something of value.

I was scammed recently too. My wife and I were cornered in the airport and promised a free two day jeep rental if we attended a short presentation so we said, sure why not a free jeep rental for an hour is a good deal.

From there it all goes down hill. Our hotel warned us before we left and I wish I would have listened. Once we got there and many hours of a bald faced lie pitch and several drinks and bottles of champagne latter we agree and were rushed through a contract just being told where to sign and initial. None of the things we were promised existed, they charged us thousands of dollars up front for a 25% discount that they can choose to not honor, so what did we buy really?

I called to cancel and talked to numerous people they of coarse refuse, they tell me doesn't matter who lied to us, all that matters is the contract and that we signed it so we just have to pay. The sales man even admitted to me its a bad deal and I should have never signed but not I'm stuck with it.

If they were a US company they would be shutdown for fraud and deceptive sales practices, and for getting you good and drunk before signing legal documents. They count on you being confused, tired, and drunk to go along with this.

Because they wont meet you in an american court of law, there is next to nothing they can do if you stop paying. I called the bank and cut them off, I will never see my deposit again but at least I know I will not give them another single dollar.

And without a doubt I will never stay at another AM resort again, and I will tell this story to EVERYONE I can who goes on vacation because a company who does this doesn't deserve anyone's business.

The unlimited vacation club is a scam. The dreams and secrets resorts are directly involved in pushing people to this scam. I am honestly embarrassed that I fell for their tricks. They take you and convince you that it's not a time share but in reality it's worse than a time share. It's a complete scam.

I paid $45, 000 USD based on the promise that it would save me enormous amounts of money on my vacations in the future. They showed me all these numbers which in hindsight was all trickery. And when I got home and did the calculations myself I realized that the savings are minimal. I would save $150 per vacation which means I need to go on 300 weekly vacations minimum to break even. I will obviously never make this money back.

If this were a legitimate company then you would expect that they would give me my money back due to me being dissatisfied and the fact that I have not used any of their services 6 months into being a member of this "club". It is not a legitimate company, so they will never give me any money back and just cite the contract terms. If they were to do the honest thing then I would be shocked and would of course let people know that they are an honest company. But clearly that's not going to happen, and it is a waste of my time to even try.

The irony is that prior to being a member of this club, I would go to their resorts all the time, I even got married at secrets maroma. Since being scammed I am determined to discourage everyone from coming to their resorts. I am now forced to go to their resorts all the time which means that every time I go to one of their resorts my wife and I will make a conscious effort to inform everyone of their scam. I cannot get my money back but I can make sure other people don't get tricked like me. My wife and I are very social and we always make new friends at every resort that we go to. We will make it our mission to make them lose more business than they gained from scamming us.

Thanks to everyone for their comments. My husband and I were considering joining this club but after reading all these reviews - no thanks! I think the posts from people that have had positive experiences likely had the money to pay a good portion of their membership and were able to immediately enjoy the benefits. It seems like this is definitely geared towards people who can afford to take 3-4 vacations/year. I appreciate the post that broke it down in numbers so you can clearly see that buying on the internet was much cheaper. Had this same issue with World Ventures. When I broke it down on a spreadsheet and did a comparison, it was much cheaper to buy from internet offers like Expedia.

My wife and I just purchased the uvc at the dreams Cancun
and we are already having problems with the promises they made to us
for there defense they are saying that everything is written in the contract ( we didn't read it at the time)
we trusted the sales representative.
I wanted to know if anyone had tried canceling through their credit card and how successful that was?
your feed back is greatly appreciated.

Always I get the free upgrade, 25% off in the SPA, if they offer 25% off every time you use the membership means that each 4 trips the 5th is free, learn how use this and you will have a lots of fun with your family using this resorts.
We were at Orlando using RCI only for $588 us the week in 3 bedrooms with 6 people last year. And I have other 25 years to keeping using this

My husband and I purchased with Unlimited Vacation club in December an have now come to realize we were told many things and that the reality is very different. we were mislead, and so wish that we had never done business with them. In our deal we traded our time share and thankfully the trade company has agreed to dissolve the issue, and generously agreed that it would not effect our deal with Unlimited vacation, they said they will take the loss of 9, 000.00. Right, it was all apart of the scam. I plan to hire an attorney and if anyone would like to join in let me know. I'm so tired of being taken advantage of, its not the money now, its the principal. So I hope you will contact me and lets get a few lawsuits going and maybe put a stop to all of this. RCI should be ashamed to be associated with these underhanded practices. They wont even talk with you about the club. I don't blame them. What happened to fair busy practices. It is misrepresentation at the highest level and should be considered fraud!

I purchased the membership during my stay at Secret Playa Majures in February. I singed up for their membership for two reasons. The experience at the resort is amazing and they offered me a great package. I too was very nervous after I paid the membership because even without all the free gifts, it is still a large amount of money. The first reaction I had was fearing this maybe a fraud. However, today, all my concerns are put to ease when I contacted the US customer division. Apart from the excellent custom service, I confirmed that the discounted rate I will be getting is very close to what the sale rep have answered me. I also checked the price against other trip agency. To my relief again, the price with the membership price is way cheaper than the travel agencies' ($140 @ Costa Rica Secret vs. 373 AND fees). This is the kind of saving I had expected when I signed up for the membership. I am taking my time to write this comment because I shared the many fears and worries expressed by other travelers. I believe some of us worried so much because it is a large amount of money we have paid down. Our rational self of course would want to make sure we made the right choice. Now, having gone through the research myself, I am a bit more at ease. Of course, I have NOT actually booked anything yet, so this review maybe updated in the future. However, at least for now, I do not believe this is a scam. To everyone who worried they have been ripped, I would suggest you to at least do some research yourself on the prices. This is a membership that would save you money if you travel frequently. Finally, for all are considering the membership and reading this post, I would highly suggested you do some calculations before purchase. This membership works if you do your math homework and get the right deal; Choosing the wrong deal will cost you money. that is for sure. Bargain, Bargain and Bargain. Should I accepted whatever the first offer they gave me, I would never get my money worth due to my life style. However, with some discussions with the reps, the current deal I have will save me lots travel money. The key is do your math and bargain for the deal that works for you. Wish you all happy traveling and happy saving $ =) [full disclosure: I neither work for any travel agencies at this moment or in the past nor am affiliate with UVC in any ways]

My husband purchased a Silver membership while in Mexico on 2/8/2015 and boy are we sorry! As very well seasoned travelers and owners of other time shares; we were conned into their web of lies and deceit also. We only wish that we too had run into the Michigan couple who clued one "almost victim" in on the scam. Let me tell you, these guys are good and very well trained. With our membership we received 2 "free" 7-day cruises and $3, 000.00 in savings credits. So, in checking on taking one of our "free" cruises; we find that they are NOT free at all. No matter who we talk to at UVC; the story is the same. We can honestly book a cruise directly through a cruise company and STILL pay less than what our "free" cruise would cost INCLUDING using our "free" cruise certificate and our savings credits! Are we mad; yes! We're REALLY mad. These people are TOTAL SWINDLERS AND LIARS and are very good at what they do to innocent people. I only wish that we had access to a computer to check on reviews for this unethical company prior to getting lured into their lair. What was represented to us is not what it is at all. The resorts are beautiful, we stayed at Now Jade and loved it, but they are ruined by the dishonest scamming that goes along with the experience.

It is jan. 31st at 12:50 am. My wife and I signed the contract the 27th for a silver membership . We just got back yesterday Jan 30. After spending over 20k on something you hope is a good investment, as soon as we got home i figured I should do some research on the opinions of this club we just agreed to join. About 80-90% of all the reviews have been negative to neutral. Mostly negative. We had really high hopes for uvc but we are fairly conservative and work way too hard for our money to ignore the fact that most people seem to be unhappy with the pricey investment. Luckily the wire transfer has not gone through yet, probably due to the excellent security measures of my bank. I sent an email to cancel the contract to the rep at the resort we stayed at (Dreams Punta Cana), move some money around so they can't get to it if they try and plan on calling them tomorrow. I am curious to see if they try to scare me into staying with threats of collections even though it hasn't be 5 days yet. I don't have much to lose by cancelling the membership but if this is really a crap membership I have a lot to lose by staying with it. One thing common sense tells me is that they aren't going out of their way to sell this to us because it doesn't make them money. It seems to me that you really have to do your homework every time you plan a vacation to get the price match with 25% additional discount to make this thing work for you. It's alot of work that they are hoping most people won't do? Just a thought

Has anyone just not paid? I'm sure they would threaten you with fees and late payment reports but has anyone just not paid?

Thank everyone for your comments, you did save me to sign with this people. I was ready to sing and lucky for me I got an email realizing that the WiFi was working, so I Google the company and read all this comments. I stopped everything and they told me to write a letter of cancelation, i asked why if a I did not sing nothing with them and the told me that I already had a membership ( I don't know hiw) I was so upset that a wrote the letter right away. After that without signing or any agreement about the super promotion they told me about the refound. I did not agree or sign and my credit card was alreqdy charged for 10k. I called my credit car company (capital one) and happily they were very helpful and cancel this transaction.

We just got back from Puerto Vallarta after staying at the Villa Magna Condos from Nov.9th thru the 23rd, 2015. These Condos are on the same property as the Dreams Resort. While out and about walking thru the Dreams Resort we began talking with the concierge and were asked if we would be interested in attending a presentation by Unlimited Vacation Club by AM Resorts to see what they had to offer us by becoming a Member. He offered us a nice gift if we would attend and we reluctantly said okay, even though we’ve done this before from time to time with other club offers.
The next day we went for Breakfast with a Sales Rep and got asked a bunch of questions and then after getting to know us better we went back to their office and they began showing us all the Benefits a Member receives and what the cost would be. After many hours of negotiation and questions it all sounded good, and we decided to buy a white pearl package. We made a 50% Deposit, signed many pages of a Contract and left feeling good.
We went back to our Condo and after supper my wife did some searching on the internet about Vacation Club Unlimited by AM Resorts and found a lot of negative reviews ( not saying they were right or wrong ) and then I started doing the same and after a couple of hours of looking at reviews, we just did not have a good feeling ( for some reason) about our decision and I immediately emailed our contact at Unlimited Vacations Club and told him our situation, that we wanted to Cancel our Contract and the next morning he emailed me back and said to come back to their office and we can discuss.
After we arrived the next day they connected us back with our original sales rep and we explained our situation as to what we read on the internet and did not feel good about what we read and until we could do more homework on these reviews from the internet, we wanted to cancel our Contract.
He said okay he understood and did in NO way try to talk us out of our decision and told us to write out a letter, dating it and signing it, explaining that we wanted to cancel our agreement - applying our 5 day cancellation clause, which we did.
I requested a letter back from them stating that my Credit Card would be credited back after the cancellation process was completed, which he gave me, and he stated that it would take approx. 5 to 10 days for this cancellation to be completed?
Not much else we could do but wait, we left and I kept checking every day to see if my Credit Card was credited and in exactly 8 days later, my Credit Card was credited the full amount of my deposit.
I want to make it clear to everyone reading this, that we were in NO way pressured to buy from them, just told continually about the Benefits they offered by becoming a Member and they all were very understanding & respectful of our decision to Cancel.

Ok, just scrolled furter down and read a post from ScortchedEarth on Feb. 26, 2015. I'm honored he took the time to mention me 'wheat1' in his rant. I'm not sure who GarryM is. I can assure you my wife and I are real people with real jobs who must enjoy the same type of vacations as each of you who write. Otherwise why would we waste our time with this dialogue. I can relate to the concerns expressed by others and have had repeated conversations with the company regarding those concerns. Again, it appears I'm in the minority, but at least I can report they have been responsive.

It's enlightening and entertaining to read these posts once in a while. I've posted a few other comments/fears previously that you'll see if you scroll down. In September we attended a family destination wedding for 3 nights in Playa del Carmin. The resort was not at all the caliber we've come to enjoy with our UVC membership. We then finished the trip with 4 nights at Zoetry de la Bonita. WOW! After our purchase in July of 2014 we had alot of the same anxiety that other express. I am glad to report that each trip has been nothing short of amazing. Our friends who have traveled with us love the resorts as well. In January we will be using a VIP week for $1500 to Secrets Papayago in Costa Rica. Our friends are going thru the sharing program for $1700. They'll hear the presentation and we get a free night. Believe me if the experience is not good I'm willing to post it in my next update. So far all of our apprehension has been put to rest. While it is a substantial investment, I'm thankful to report what I've seen in the product has been worth it thus far.

This is a SCAM!
I tried to book a resort with the pre-paid nights I purchased and was not able to do it. Rooms were available if I wanted to pay in cash but were not available for the night I got with the contract.

The below, which is an email I just wrote to PROFECO (the Mexican's government's Office of Consumer Affairs, describes that the horrible experience I am having with Unlimited Vacation Club:

I am hoping that you can help me with a dispute that I am having with Unlimited Vacation Clubs. On November 29, 2015, I attended a very high pressure presentation at the Secrets Playa Mujeres Resort in Cancun, Mexico, aimed at selling me a membership in the Unlimited Vacation Club (UVC).

The sales representatives were friendly and very personable but I later realized, after doing some online research, that the facts that were presented to me were false. I had been concerned that I could not afford to stay at the resorts but the sales representative told me, after a series of complicated calculations, that with promotions it would cost $50.00 U.S. per night per person. Since that seemed affordable to me, I agreed to purchase a thirty year membership in the club for $8, 025.00 U.S. The membership offers an at least 25% discount for staying at the resorts.

After I agreed to purchase the membership, the sale representative encouraged me to move from my hotel into the resort for two days to try it out. I did so and inquired while I was there of other guests how much it cost. It was much more than I thought so I searched the internet and found numerous postings from others on Trip Advisor and other vacation club review websites that the UVC membership was a “scam”, that false representations were made during the sales presentation, and that attempts to cancel even during the five day “cooling off” period were met by refusals by UVC to refund monies already paid and threats to collect more. One person stated that he had worked for UVC and that their sales representatives were trained “to sell air”. He said misrepresentations were routinely made and that he left his job because he could not stand it. I also then checked the cost of the various resorts and realized that, even with a more than 25% discount, there was no way that a stay would cost only $50.00 U.S. per night.

After reading the above information, I immediately emailed UVC cancelling my membership on November 1, 2015, within five business days of my signing the contract. I followed the email with both a written cancellation by overnight Federal Express service and by registered mail to the address to which notices were to be given as set forth in the contract.

This morning, I received a call from Fernando, one of the sale representatives, stating that because I stayed at the Secrets Playa Mujeres resort for two days, if I cancelled my membership, I would have to pay half the membership fee or $4, 012.50 U.S. dollars for the two nights I stayed there. When Fernando made the offer to allow me to stay at the Secrets Playa Mujeres resort for 2 days to try it out, he did not inform me either that (1) it would affect my ability under Mexican law to cancel within the five business day period or (2) that I would be charged $4, 012.50 U.S. for the two nights.

I entered into the contract based on misrepresentations as to the benefits that I would receive from the plan and I accepted Fernando’s offer to try it out for two days in good faith. I was never told that, if I decided not to continue with the membership, I would be charged $4, 012.50 for the four nights. I realize now that the offer for the 2 night stay was totally a trick to take away my right to cancel within the five business days.

Well it's evident after reading this some of you have never had any business dealings when it come to
I'm a diamond member with UVC I was in the first group of people who bought a membership when they started this about six years ago. I will say I was skeptical at first but I didn't make an immediate decision being a businessman I simply told him put numbers on paper let me go back and look at it and crunch numbers and see how it works out with me doing the math, it was very evident that as another member stated this would pay for itself after a few trips approximately 10 with the package I received. I invested about $40, 000 but in return I got 63 premium nights or free nights I also received 42 vip nights along with RCI, Ice, the registry and the yachts program. We have used the ice program even though we are loyal cruisers on Royal Caribbean they actually saved us about $900 on a suite on the last cruise we just did they were actually cheaper than Royal Caribbean. So I would just suggest if you didn't read the information that was given to you or didn't understand it and didn't ask question that's shame on you but the other thing you need to realize is there's a reason you have pearl, silver, gold, gold plus, platinum and diamond and there's a reason they're priced at different price points if you buy a pearl membership you're not going to get the same benefits as a diamond or a platinum member it doesn't work that way again any other loyalty or reward club doesn't work that way why would this one be any different. I mean really you can't go to Ford dealership and buy new escort and drive off in a new Cadillac doesn't work that way. Anyway we been very happy and very pleased with what we bought and what we got for what we spent. We have also been very pleased with the additional services and benefits that came with it, like I said we saved $900 on a cruise using ice and our son and daughter-in-law went on the same cruise and were able to use the discount also on their room I found out at that time I could use the discount for up to eight rooms in any one booking. So sorry this isn't a complaint but I figure the company deserves opinions from all its members not just the unhappy ones.

Here I am trying to book our vacation, as uvc promised a 1 week vacation with rci but did not informed us that there were so many restrictions! If anything we end up paying more than internet prices. Unfortunately we signed the papers in June it is now September. Deceived us during our trip and wasted 3 hours. I was skeptical and should have not let them lured us in. Is there anything we can do to get our money back!? Please inform us thank you

Stay away from them! Don't listen what they have to offer which is just air!

Well, lots of comments mostly negative. We too purchase our second time share. We have one through Interval International that works fine, but after listening to the sales pitch, this sounded great. We thought that we would be smart and buy at ground level, the Black Pearl. The resorts are fine. Then we went to Puerto Vallarta and we talked to another sales person there (as they approached us to buy), who informed us that "IF" we upgraded ours to SILVER the benefits would be much greater, and in fact showed us. After two days, and several sales people discussing the same things, such as preferred club, better times, etc. etc., the list was long, and also telling us that the Resort we stayed in, Dreams Puerto Vallarta was one of the best selling points for them(this is where we stay), we thought that since Dreams was older that the upgrade would give us better suites in the Preferred Club, so we upgraded. Now, keep in mind we deliberated this over two days and several sales people. It has been nothing but a lie, the upgrade gives us nothing more at all, in fact they have now even cancelled our VIP weeks, which they told us we could use anytime(they were making a note on file), sure the notes are there when we go down in person and discuss, but apparently once we leave, the notes magically disappear. To bring insult to injury, the most favorite and the reason we upgraded was the hotel, and now it has been sold. I know, before anyone goes on to say "These things happen", please be careful and keep in mind that this was THE ONLY REASON we upgraded, they had this resort for ever, and like the sales people told, their best sales pitch. I don't want to go on complaining about the actual other resorts, they are just fine, assuming we can ever get into the "Preferred Club", which by the way since 2012, has been never, always full. I would believe this if we did not go down at least 6-7 per year, and also when we go our friends go, and they purchased directly through a travel agents, guess what, they are always upgraded, we actually laugh about it, but it is sad, the reason they upgrade "Them" sales pitch again, the reason they do not upgrade us, we are already members. Very sad really. We have voiced our concerns to the company and guess what, nothing gets answered. So, our suggestion, DO NOT BUY INTO THE SALES PITCH, or just get Black Pearl good enough.

I've been a member of UVC club for one year and I've used the service for 3 vacations. I have had enjoyable experiences at the resorts that I've booked at so far and I have received the benefits that were promised. Basically, you pay for your vacations upfront and receive resort discounts on the back end. In addition, depending on what member level you purchase, you also receive free nights which can be redeemed at any of their all inclusive resorts. The free nights that we've received will cover most of what we have paid for our membership. You will receive at least a 25% discount on their resorts and sometimes more. A huge bonus is that VIP status gets you preferred check in and late check out when available as well. I traveled to Cozumel in 3/2015 for spring break and booked a garden view room. Early check in was not available and we waited 1.5 hours. In lieu of the wait, we were upgraded to an ocean front room for the duration of our stay. The only downside is that you don't get any discounts on air fare - you still have to book flights on your own. As long as you are diligent in looking for cheap flights, you can still save on the entire cost of the trip. I will agree that their sales pitch is pretty aggressive - its a long presentation and they give you a-lot of information up front. Like any other deal, you have to negotiate a good price. Make sure you read all the info in your contract two or three times. You can miss out on extra benefits if you don't know what's being offered. You have to travel 2-3 times per year in order for the benefits to pay for themselves. If you plan to use it once a year, don't bother - it wont make financial sense. It is overall a great vacation plan. Their resorts are very well maintained and you will experience first class service. I'm satisfied with my membership. Eventually I will upgrade to the next member level.

This comment is not just to the am ex guy. We have been to secrets resorts 7 out of 9 years. Every vacation has been great. So we finally went to the presentation through my friends membership. 2400 us dollars total for my wife and myself to secrets Moroma. My friend Craig received 4 free nights for my purchase( that is how you make out). I bought in the spring. Silver for 30yrs. I just booked a vip week at (cost us 1500 for 2, on apple it was 3689 for 2 people) with secrets silver sands for the spring without a problem. Still a little worried about the contract if UVC goes out of business. For anyone out there who possibly thinks they could get something for nothing you are fools. It is going to take 4-6 vacations to break even then after that you start saving. Very smart business, if you ask me. They want to lock you into coming to am resorts and not competitors. They are not going to pay anyone to come to an am resorts time after time for free. My friend Craig and his wife have been using it for a few years. A few little issues but nothing to consider it being a scam. I do not know about your am ex situation. But I have cancelled things on my visa/master card in the past and sometimes it takes 7-10 business days. The preferred category clause in my contract, I have to pay extra for a preferred room but if we get the regular room we still have preferred privileges. They did a really good job going over the contract with us. It seems to me that people are nervous and afraid to seem confused. Do not feel stupid if you do not understand something, ask. It is a little confusing but show me a contract that isn't. It took us 5 hours to finalize everything. Yes it stinks but its over and we are happy. I think what people do not like about it, it is the same as buying a car. You are in there for hours and afterwards you still think you could of got a better deal (possibly could of). I felt that way. The cost is much more than a car so that is what gets everyone so frustrated. After crunching the numbers, if you go on one all inclusive every couple years then its not for you. We have been and plan on going 1-2 times a year and when we retire in about 15 years a lot more.

After arriving at AVIS in Cancun we were harassed so badly by a guy there to visit this timeshare. The AVIS people said we had to talk to him to get our keys for our rental car. A half hour had gone by and we still hadn't received our keys after many assertive attempts. It was a total joke. I will NEVER visit that timeshare and I will tell everyone I know to never talk to them. We ended up giving the 20.00 the guy wanted for the "free lunch" that would have been provided just to shut him up and get out of there. Total scam. slippery business. hope they self destruct and dissolve soon. Now for AVIS...
