they don't care
I recently bought a bag of shredded cheese at Albertsons supermarket in Durango, Colorado. As I was cooking dinner for my family and opened the new bag of cheese I noticed it had a black stinking mass in the cheese. I almost threw up. It ruined our entire dinner as my wife and family were in the kitchen at the time. I took the cheese back to Abertson and asked for the manager and was told there were none in the store. When I asked the young girl behind the counter to open the cheese and tell me what was in the bag she said "no I have a weak stomach" and then asked if I wanted another bag of cheese. When I said why would I want another bag she replied "I just give people their money back and get yelled at".
dont shop
If you shop at this Albertsons, don't go through Marilyn G. Line...she is a horrible person, and checker! My husband and I shopped there, she talked with her winey voice (I could smell alcohol on her breath) she would talk and talk and it took forever! I asked her where peanut butter was and she never did answer me, she seemed to involved in talking about her miserable self! Telling my husband she hates men, and all her personal life and how she loves to drink wine! I know. We could tell! She said she was getting married but doesn't like commitment! Albertsons needs to get rid of that Jerry Springer employee...I will NEVER shop there ever again! Bad experience...HORRIBLE...
why didn't you just go to her manager if that is the way you felt or go to a differant line problem solved.
which albertsons?
I know...easy right? Simple solutions seem to be terribly complex for some people.
bad service
I have had one problem with the store that keeps repeating, always out of at least one item I need for my recipe at the time. Sometimes it's uncommon item that I have to go to Vons for or what usually is is a very common item like split green peas that they can't seem to keep in stock. I have discussed this with employees over the past year. But their is nothing they can do about it. About 4 weeks ago when yet again this store fell short of an item I needed I talked to the General manager which is no easy task and time consuming. He apologized and yet again I ended up at Vons.
Yesterday I went in to redeem my stamps for a pan, I was told they ran out of every item and that they will have more tomorrow (today). I went back today I asked a cashier about redeeming my stamps she said I had to go to customer service. I went to customer service and there was a sign that stated see the cashier. Well to make a long story a little shorter. I was told to come back tomorrow that they still did not have the items. At this point I was not very happy and asked to speak to the general manager. 15 minutes later someone other then the general manager shows up. I went from being unhappy to being upset. Since I could not speak to the general manager I asked for the name and telephone number to the district manager, she gave me the name and number. I went home and called the district manager. Well wouldn't you know it, it was the wrong number. I then attempted to contact Albertson's Corporate office and was given a number to customer service. I find out that Albertson doesn't even do their own customer service they send it out to a third party. Now I am no longer unhappy or upset, I am pissed and only thinking at this point that Albertson's just has no respect for their customers at all. Going from store manager to Corporate office.
Now I am thinking of legal ways I can make Albertson's feel the sting of their anti-customer policies.
Anyone have any suggestions, I am willing to put in as much time and energy as it takes to get Albertson's to change their customer service policies to be customer friendly.
What a whiner
rude and noisy
The Port Angeles, WA Albertsons is a nightmare neighbor. They run the parking lot cleaning truck at ten pm on a weeknight. If not that then a snow or leaf blower. They allow noisy teenagers to hang out in the parking lot, playing very loud music. They allow delivery trucks to idle for long periods of time in the very early morning hours. When I try to call, they let the phone ring over and over. When I finally get a person on the phone, they tell me to deal with it myself by confronting the noisemakers. They are truly destroying the neighborhood peace.
cashier kept my change
Last night I purchased one item from the deli and was owed $4 the cashier was so busy talking she neglected to give me my change, when I pointed that out to her she snapped "I laid it on the shelf" (used to write checks) which made no sense change is placed in the customers hand along with the receipt..I informed her my Partner was standing directly in front of the shelf so this was not the case..she snapped louder "I put it on the shelf" same as calling my Partner a liar, then began ringing up the customer behind me blowing me off completely..she made a point of ignoring me..I have written a angry letter to their main office and will probably do all of my shopping in Publix..if I do return to Albertsons I will avoid her line like the plague..
bad ham and management
Alberton's, Washington, Utah...I bought a ham at Alberton's and when I opened it, it was rancid. I took it back as asked for my money back...if fact I would have been okay with a store credit, but NO..I had to have a receipt.
I don't save my receipts, I expect my groceries to be fresh and consumable. I have no reason to keep my receipt. Without the receipt they wouldn't budge. Even though it was obviously their product and the sell by date hadn't been reached. What happened to customer satisfaction...not at this Albertson's... Pissed off, I left the meat with them and left...then I did my shopping at Wal Mart across the street...I felt like taking my Wal mart receipt back to albertson's to show them what they missed because of their rude attitude...My shopping days are done at Alberston's...I know the competition wants my business.
discontinued my favorite product
I've been buying Farmland products at Albertson's here for some time now. Found a favorite in their Pork and Bacon roll. Now they tell me they have discontinued the item and I am so very disappointed. Farmland was very gracious and responded to my e-mail immediately. They still have the product and told me to ask Albertson's to order it!
false advertising
I received my ad on Tuesday and they had great meat deals buy 1 get one so I decided to go to south Venice to buy my groceries which is 15 miles out of my way. I get there and yes they had buy 1 get one but they jacked up the price to 6.98 a pound (for chicken breast) if you purchased it individually so the savings was a joke. Also I went to the deli counter and ordered the alpine lace cheese because they had a price of 6.99 in front of it. I ordered 1/2 pound and they printed the ticket at 8.99 a lb. I asked about it and the lady leans down to look at the tag and says "it says baby swiss" and guess what, they don't have baby swiss, they're out of it. I proceeded to take a picture of it (attached). Excuse me for having less than perfect eyesight to see that the tag has baby swiss in small letters by 6.99 in huge digits but there were 2 large blocks of alpine lace right behind it. That's false advertising. I got a few more items but I will NEVER go back to that store.
I've never been back to that store and won't go and from what I understand they have not changed their tactics. There are other places to shop.
Then what is the point of having a "sale" there was actually no saving? I did agree that I could not read the smaller print, the clerk even had to bend down to see it. This is a retirement area do you think everyone has very good eyesight? Of course if you're 4' tall and on eye level I guess you can see it OK but I still maintain that I will not visit their establishment again.
We've shopped Albertsons for the last 30 years. This is the first time I'm aware of a false advertising gambit on the part of Albertsons. The ad for this week reads: "Extreme Coupon!" 73% ground beef for $1.88/lb. I went to Albertson's on 120th ave/Washington St, Northglenn, Colorado. yesterday [9/11/2015] at about 3pm. No ground beef available. The man told me to try back again in the am. I returned about 9:30 am today--
no ground beef..the man said I could try back on Monday the 14th. I tried another store, 104th and Colorado--same thing--no ground beef before Monday.
I've experienced this kind of false advertising at King Soopers--but; this is the first time that I've suffered false advertising at Albertsons.
It's really not a good way to treat your customers. Why lie to us? Why advertise a special, when Albertsons obviously never intended to honor it in the first place?
Why treat people this way? Why lie to us?
wouldn't take my personal check
They don't give S & H Green Stamps out anymore either. Checks are on their way out. Get a debt card. Stop living in the past and crying because you can't get your own way.
Why?
Ever thought about getting a debit card?
I hate going to Albertsons - almost every week they advertise something incorrectly. This week it was a loaf of Homepride bread (24 oz) for 99cents. Got there and it's really the 20 oz loaf. (Not a big deal, but this happens all the time. At this point I don’t even bother asking for the correct item or a clarification of the discrepancy in the add….. Who in their right mind wants to be subjected to their rude customer service - been there and done that. I just left and took my business elsewhere). Last week they had cans of white tuna displayed on an end aisle with a sign that said 2/$1. It rang up at $2.89. Turns out it wasn't the white tuna that was on sale after all but a different one on a shelf completely removed from where the advertised price was displayed next to the cans I picked up. And as I pointed out to the cashier the sign didn’t make clear that it wasn’t the white tuna on sale. But she didn’t care - her attitude was insulting and she was obviously really pissed at me for having the nerve to ask her to take it off my ticket. Treating ME like I'm trying to rip THEM off. On the same ticket there was also a discrepancy in their pricing of a box of Stove Top Stuffing and Peanut Butter that rang up higher than they were supposed to. (No signs anywhere indicating an error on their part or apologizing for any inconvenience) A month ago it was Pancake Mix advertised at a certain price but ringing up higher… that turned out to be a misprint - AGAIN! (To his credit the store manager of that Albertson's sold me a couple of boxes for the advertised price.) This happens almost every time I shop at Albertsons. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, at first I thought these were honest mistakes or misprints, but after having it happen time and time again I'm not so sure... And trying to get a rain check for an out of stock advertised item is like pulling teeth at certain locations. Or trying to use a rain check at a different store than the one it was written at is even harder sometimes. I've had to return cereal with bugs inside a sealed cereal bag (I could see them through the bag) and had the manager refuse a refund. I could go on and on and I'm not exaggerating! I live in North Texas (Fort Worth area). If you want to shop at Albertsons (when they honor their printed prices they are pretty reasonable) I can recommend the Lake Worth store. The service is good and instead of being treated like a criminal for expecting to buy an item at the advertised price, the manager apologizes and/or sells it for the printed price. Unfortunately I cannot say the same for the Weatherfords Albertsons or the Fort Worth Albertsons by Ridgmar Mall. I’m sure some of their employees are considerate but because of those that are beyond RUDE - I most definitely can not recommend them. In today’s economy - it’s almost a necessity for a family on a fixed budget to shop around for the best prices - this is NOT a crime and I for one am sick and tired of being treated like I’m doing something dishonest or am a big cheapskate for simply expecting to buy an item at the advertised price!
bad and slow service
I have been shopping on Albertsons store on Harbor str. for few months and every time I tell to myself that I will never go back. The service is just awful. No matter how busy the store is, they only have two cashiers working and most of the time they are the same people, an old lady and an old man (the lady is always nice) who barely move. Not too mention that the supervisor (or whatever that guy who watches people on the self-checking machines) comes, whenever there is a long annoying line and starts talking to the cashier, ask for $20 bills, whispering behind a very "important" piece of paper, which always has priority as it can't wait. The "stupid" customers should wait in lines and have patience. They simply have no respect for the client. I have witnessed ( it never happen to me) employee addressing to the customers in a rudely manner for couple of times. One time, I was waiting to check out and a couple entered the store. It was quarter to 11 and they were closing at 11. The bag boy yells at them that they are closing. They stopped in the middle of the hall, surprised when the supervisor tells them to go on, moment when the bag boy complains to the supervisor that he wants to go home. It was for numerous times when I had to put my merchandise in the bags while the helpers were 10 feet away gossiping and completely ignoring the cashier's call for help. It was also numerous times when I got home and noticed that some of the food was expired, and not two or three days before, but a month or two. I returned 5 bottles of chocolate milk because they were expired and I found them on the shelf again the next day. I took them, put them on the floor with a note saying "these are expired" and guess what? the next day they were stored again next to the good ones. i went to the manager/ supervisor and he apologized and told sometimes the employee miss the expiration date. I left a note that said EXPIRED! If they miss this, then maybe you should find other people to work there. I bough expired polenta, chicken, orange juice, etc. So, make sure you read the labels when shopping there because the employee "sometimes miss it". They have these campaigns all the time. I think I donated about $20 when one day I answered "No!" to the question "Would you like to donate a dollar?". More exactly I said : "I have already donated." The cashier lady looked at me like I was the worst person in the world. I asked whether there was a problem and she said embarrassed that there was no problem. I think this is pure beginning. I mean, if I want to donate, which I do often times because I feel I want too, then just let it be my decision. Why do you have to ask me every time, when it is more than obvious you have a campaign as the whole fricking store is covered in hearts with Johny's, Pitzy's, Mitzy's and the neighbor's dog names on them.
Ok, I can go on and on about this. I apologize for being this long, I just needed to vent.
seems like albertsons doesn't want me shopping there
I shop at the albertson on 720 3rd ave. in Chula Vista, Ca. store #is:06757. The store is now remodeled. Looks nice. Too bad you eliminated some products(liquid simmering incense annd stick incense) I now have to make a trip further out to K-Mart to finish my shopping. I was at albertsons yesterday aand wanted to buy an already cooked meat loaf. I couldn, t foer third time in a couple of weeks. 10:30 A.M. Had to go to yet another store Von's. No problem. I would rather do all my shopping at albertsons like I used to be able to. Gee, too bad things had to dissapear just to get anice looking store. These aren't the only things. Seems like albertsons doesn't want me shopping there.
Rotten produce
I shopped there about a month ago and bought about 30$ worth of fruits and vegies. Within two days they were all rotten. E-mail the company, the manager called and made it all better. So I thought I'll give them another chance. So I bought a medium size container of strawberry's. The whole top layer were beautiful but the fruit that was not on top were moldy and rotten. I took them back to the store for my money back and they would only give me store credit. They have the balls to sell you rotten fruit and then not give you a refund! Ridiculous!
unnecessary rudeness
I was using the self checkout and scanning my items as fast as possible. There was an annoying woman with her daughter apparently waiting specifically on me (even though there was 3 other machines!). I had used a basket and not a cart and did not want the basket to bother the next person so I put it to the other side of the machine. It was not in anyone's walking space. Out of nowhere the Albertsons employee monitoring the self checkout swoops in on me, grabs the basket with one hand, and with the other hand yanks out my coupon and then my receipt and stuffs them into my grocery bag! Then she follows that with "Is that all you bought?" and before I can respond storms back to her spot. Bewildered I grab my change and inch away from the machine and just as I pass the evil employee (as she gives me dirty looks) the annoying woman screams at me that I've forgotten my cash change and waves it around the air like she's fanning herself with it. The employee rushes over to the annoying woman, practically knocking me over, and makes a grab for it. If I hadn't been on her tail she probably would have pocketted it! Good grief.
reverse racism is alive and well in murphy texas! no lunch! no restroom break?
Well, I am still hungry at the grocery store! Two years later, I am still having to ask to go to lunch like a "small child". Now, I have to "check in" with my black female boss before I can start the day... I am a 39 year old white male, (working on a Master's Degree) who is a victim of reverse racism.
As a manager of the store, it is my responisibility to report "theft" whether it is happening inside or outside the store. Yesterday, I worked a 9hr. day with NO LUNCH BREAK due to the fact that I was being punished by my boss because we lost three employee's due to theft, and they were terminated. I was told to work in this department the rest of the day, and asked on numerous times if I could grab something to eat... NO LUNCH FOR ME!
This is just another form of punishement for being born white... Now, I have to check in, ask to go to lunch, guess when my days off are most of the time, and now I have to guess if I am going to be able to eat! One employee was told by her that she was NOT ALLOWED TO GO TO THE BATHROOM! We are all adults, and now this has moved from ridiculous to illegal!
If this was happening to her (BLACK) ###, you can bet that something would be getting done to prevent this, however, since this is happening to "us WHITE folk" I guess we just have to wait and take this abuse until someone does something drastic, or someone who reads this can make a difference!
Will someone please tell the store director here that slavery is dead and over! Then maybe we can get someone in this store that can run a successful store without racism and without a threatening work environment!

You had me until you began to spout racism yourself.
Became ill/threw up...from recent purchase of a pie that was expired Feb 2011 ..but still stocked for sale July 2011.Whom can I contact about this matter? I even have receipt proof. So unfair!
tried to use a check to pay for groceries and check was declined.
You are sadly incorrect.having to answer to someone is apart of life.being white has nothing to do with it.sounds like youre the racist one
Like the saying goes, if you can't take the heat, then get out the kitchen, or in your case find a new job.
Working on a masters degree working an hourly job at the grocery store? I think the problem is with you and your attitude! Ur the same as everyone else there if your accomplishents have u at a dead-end job anyway... U sound like racists... To me, it would seem she is sexist NOT racist...
I shop in that store all the time and I know who you are. Thank the Lord she is taking your ### to task. You are as rude, nasty and ignorant in the store as you are on this message board. How you made it a racist thing is beyond me. If you were professional you would have taken it to HR or the labor board and not making your store look even worse. This behavior is exactly why long time customers cant stand to come in the store anymore.
Riddle me this when do you think you will ever have a job that you do not have to check in or tell someone you are going to lunch or break especially in a grocery store. Sounds to me you are getting called on your behavior finally and again thank god the higher ups are on to your behavior. It is about time.
take a spy camera to work (check your state laws on recording). shop the recordings around to lawyers & news media outlets. Let me know how it worked out.
Albertsons - poor customer service
This store has a redbox for DVD rentals. The customer service is substandard, though. I was recently treatly rudely when trying to use a raincheck for a sale item they were out of in Feb.2010. So now it's March 2010 and I try to buy the item that is now in stock when I'm in there to rent a DVD anyway, and the checker says my raincheck was issued too long...

I can understand the frustration of bad customer service but when management and the owners main focused is to cut labor that means less help and more WORK LOAD for all the emlpoyees that are considered full time, then I hope you can understand why it almost always seemed like you are a bother.
When you worry that you get yelled at the next day for not doing your job because you spend all of your day pointing products for customers, either way, the company just makes you feel bad about yourself and so does the customer.
The management tells you drop everything that you are doing for every customer but they take away all the help so you can ran your department smoothly - the company is itself is a NAZI operated business. Because of the economy you are forced to keep a job that makes you feel worthless no matter how hard you work everyday, at the end of the day, you don't get BREAKS and no COMPLIMENTS.

I returned bakery cookies because they were raw, Then had to go back to return the sour milk I purchased the same day. They have the worse quality food of all the grocery store chains. I will never go back because this is not the first time I've been unhappy with the quality.
The store director does not get his bonus if the store goes over the budgeted workable hours (often decreased when sales are low), therefore, cutting employee hours is necessary for said directors to achieve that bonus.
I don't think they care that the employee that loses hours has a family that is depending on that "full-time" paycheck every week.
Too many times have I gone home exhausted after my shift, because I have to do the work of three people. Cut and tray the meat, wrap the meat, put the meat out, refresh the counter, break the butcher block, unload the truck and put out the ready-to-eat meals and fill the chicken set, grind more hamburger, cut more sale items, take care of the customer who wants a special cut of meat (which is not the problem)... And then clean up the meat room and go home so I can do it all over again tomorrow night.
As long as the work is being done, and I don't go over my scheduled hours, I won't get written up. If I go over my time, I'm called into the office (next time might be my last).
But it doesn't stop there. They won't fire you. No, because then, you could collect unemployment. Instead, they either take you off the schedule or give you five to eight hours a week, just to cover their butts.
Take my advice. Don't go to work for this company. I do it because I have time vested in the company and I'm a workaholic.
I used to work for them as well. Over worked ... no breaks or lunches ... made several hotline complaints.. temp fixed ... then back to being over worked... to the point I quit after watching my own supervisor take TWO lunches opposed to my NONE... worse company to work for...
poor service and lack of respect
The store is clean, the prices o.k...but the service is sooooo Bad. Employees have no respect to customers, most of the time busy gossiping and joking about customers...Have no respect for differences or anyone, and show no mercy to moms. Seems that they are not trained or have no leader to direct them..even managers having the same values and encouraging that. Employees are not in a good level, or trusty to be with customers. Poor poor store, not recomended to anyone. I'm going to move to a different locations, because i can't handle these people anymore.

Sounds exactly like the one I used to work for on Burbank.
simply terrible
I was being checked out by a cashier named Vanessa at store #6523 in Rancho Cucamonga, CA who made several nasty comments when I pulled out my coupons. I didn't have a large number of coupons and I handed them to her neatly. She said, " You shouldn't be able to use that many coupons because that would be like getting the items free" I said I only have 5 coupons plus 3 Catalinas that printed out on a previous purchase. I paid for my items and when I got to my car I decided to go back and get some diapers. I then went back and purchased 3 packs of diapers and used 3 manufacture coupons, she then called the manager up to the check stand and asked if I could use the coupons, he looked perplexed and said of course. By this time I had enough of her comments and asked the manager if they accept coupons, and he said that they did and there was no problem using coupons. I said o.k because if it were a problem, then I would take my business elsewhere. There are 5 other stores within a 2 mile radius that I could go to and I chose to give my business to Albertsons. Not only did she embarass me in a line of people, but she definately makes me think twice about shopping in a store that makes customers feel like they are doing you a favor by accepting manufacturer coupons. I know that stores get re-imbursed for coupons at face value plus an 8cent handling charge, so why in an economy like this where businesses are struggling and people are trying to cut back where ever possible would you have checkers like Vanessa who treat paying customers like myself so disrespectfully? I wish I could e-mail the store director, Mike Wheeler, myself but don't have his information. I will also be sending a copy of this e-mail to Albertsons President, Lawrence Johnston and CEO Robert Miller. I am just appalled and hope that Albertsons educates their checker, this one in particular on the basics of customer service.

scam and lies
I shop at my local Albertsons often. Fri morning I went through their self check out. I was using two of their coupons on the paper for potatoes and cheese. I scanned the first one for the potatoes, and only got credit off one bag, was not able to scan a 2nd time because the machine kept telling me to insert coupon. Where you insert coupon, there is a note stating we need to give the coupons to the cashier. So I finish my order and give the cashier my coupons and mention I received credit for one bag of potatoes already. Cashier tells me to slide my debit card. So I do, and then ask if she is crediting my coupon savings of $5.49 to the debit. She said she is, and I asked how long before it shows up. She said instantly. Well it isn't instantly. I came home later that day and checked my account, no debit of my coupon savings, not to mention their bank also is holding $1.00. I called customer service, they gave me the name of the book keeper. I called and spoke with her and she said, usually it is in minutes. Then she said we have the option of debit or cash. I told her there was no option given to me. She said if it is not in there Monday to let her know. I just called and there is not a pending of my coupon savings at all, and my $1.00 is still being held. I am not happy! The option should have been given to me, it wasn't. Now MY money is being held, plus not being put in my account yet, therefore, feel like I have been ripped off a little bit, because until I get that savings in coupons, I have paid full price. This benefits Albertsons, because every day they hold my money a little longer, they get a little more interest on it. We are in a recession people, that is why I am so upset. I will not shop with them anymore after this. If you can't trust your neighborhood grocery store.

I work self checkout at Albertson's and there is plenty that i would like to say about your complaint. But I will limit myself.
First off, you should not of slid your card until you saw her credit your bill at the register.. If she wanted to do it after you paid for the bill, then she should of manually refunded your saving onto the card. This would of been 2 seperate transactions. Second.. you should of pointed it out immediately to the cashier when the machine was telling you to insert the coupon. The cashier has complete control over that machine. She can make her STOP telling you to insert the coupons..
Lastly. your just as much responsable for geting "riped" off.. you didnt scan the coupon twice. you didnt have to insert the coupon just because a machine told you to. What was the worst that would of happened if you would of held it in your hand.. would the machine kept your potatoes... come on people...self checkout is CRAZY for the attendant...people using it who DONT HAVE A CLUE HOW.. its called self checkout...

frustrating experience
I am a regular customer in the Tyler Store. My experience in this particular store is always very frustrating due to sales items being correct per the add. The Managers are usually very helpful and listen to my concerns. However, Customer Service on the front is very rude. These employees act like my concerns are interrupting them from their conversing among one another, and their eating behind the counter. I was needing to cash out a voucher. and was told, "the employees that work back here can not service you and are not even here. It was 1 minute until opening, and 5 minutes later the same two employees came back and cashed my voucher. What kind of customer service is that? What is one minute until opening? I feel like they could have handled my needs then ; not 6 minutes later. One lady in particular always has a very unfriendly expression on her face when she is approached to handle my concerns. I do however have a wonderful and very friendly experience at the check out; two checkers in particular are always there, and always very friendly... YOU need more like them.
