We've been robbed! The so called guide- outfitter is running a complete scam. Hunting different land described, illegal baiting, dirt not food plots, sleeping accomidations air mattress on floor not own bedroom, 6 hunters 2 days of hunts left before 3rd only saw 1 boney, weak yearling about 25 lbs. hunt from ground or 6ft. ladder stand not shooting houses as described.land supposed to be in excess of 1000 acres, had map which clearly showed different land than advertised and clearly showed less than 500 acres. no more than 6 hunters, on second day brought in 5 more hunters which stayed in camper and clearly put these hunters on same areas that we hunted knowing that there was abso;utely no deer activity much less sign, and all the while telling them the same lies that we were told. such as what was supposedly seen on trail cameras while never producing a single camera. also only trail cam pictures (2) on website from 2 and 3 years prior. told we were first group hunting land in 5 years and found out that others had just left. hunters in area advised that there was no land around with a guide service only hunting clubs. wanted us to hide our vehicles and trailers with atvs behind house. when asked why was told dont ask.i could go on and on, when we advised we would not hunt third day because of all the falsehoods and deceptions he finally offered to refund us our third day which was paid upfront. cashed our checks at 5:40 am at walmart. he was given 3 1/2 weeks and then renegged on this. I feel so strongly about not letting this scam happen to anyone else that you can call me anytime day or night [protected] Richard.

Hello Pete, remember me, or maybe not. You've scammed so many people. I get phone calls weekly asking about your operation and I'm only too happy to do what is morally right. TSanders is 100% spot on with his comment, although when my group was there 4 of six slept on the floor in the living room(addition), no bunks, two little rooms and yes you will be sharing the house with him and his family. we were so disappointed after the first night and day. We wanted to leave. Hunting dirt not grass. realizing pics of food plots were nothing more than one extremely small plot taken from different views and no deer sign or deer tracks! Bottomline, " no deer sign, no tracks, no deer!". By the second day after uncovering many more falsehoods and dropped off to locations where there was no grass and of all things illegally baited with corn, it was time to leave. Not forgetting that you also had a second group come in on the morning of the second hunt and we had to wait for you to get back from taking them to their areas that you had just picked us up from knowing good and well that they would not see anything much less would be hunting illegal. We were also promised a partial refund, but after 8 weeks later, SURPRISE! NO REFUND! Surprised? Not hardly! Par for the course!
Reading TSanders post made me relive the moment and boiled my blood again so as to post another comment.
To anyone who looks at the website, you can clearly see deer baited with corn. (Illegal!) Dates on pics from 06', and the lack of any positive reviews posted, and so on and so on. Bottomline "if it smells fishy, it probably is fishy!" PLEASE, anyone reading these posts, DO YOUR HOMEWORK on this operation. You will put money down and be lucky to ever make contact again, but then again at least you'll only be out of 50% of your money. and if you still feel that it is worth taking a risk, then by all means make payment where you have recourse of getting your money back!
Pete your terrible spelling only gives you away in the above so called positive comment (below your comment). It's obvious you posted it yourself. Give it up Pete, and do what's morally and ethically right. You are giving honest outfitters a bad name, and taking the hard earned money from my fellow hunters with no remorse. Oh yeah, and don't forget to include the truth about past victims and how and why they were cited while "hunting" with you. Secondly, explain to them why they need to hide their vehicles around the back of the house. P.S. I found out myself the reason was that you were hunting people on land only leased for you, your wife and kids, not an outfitter operation. C'MON MAN!

Yes, I forgot to say that this hunt was in Perry, FL. If I saved my money I could have gone to a real outfitter... He told me that he is not a bad person and has treated me well in which on face value he has but aren't all con artist nice?

Pete ### us out of money this spring. My father and I hunted three years ago and had good success killing one turkey and should have killed another. This past time was different. There was not very much sign of turkeys and they were all on other properties. Further more we was promised an Osceola in Osceola country. It may have been a cross bred but the hunt is one county up from what NWTF recognized as Osceola country. Further more I killed a 300lb hog and we paid to have it processed and I sent him money to pay for the sausage and shipping to NC. This was the end of march and I've yet to see my sausage. Every time that I call to get my money there is always an excuse. But guess what? Lucky for me my brother is a lawyer and we have began civil proceedings. Two weeks and I do not have the money back I guess I'll get a court date to see him in federal district civil court. I'll say hello for everyone! Lol! I hate I didn't see yalls post before sending my money.

If we can do I work and get this scam artist out of business maybe others can have a chance to book a hunt elsewhere and potently have a great chance at a hunt. And his cousin are the one running South Carolina trophy whitetails. There business is just a step up but not worth it cause the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. They have good stands but they also are hunting while your hunting and they are in the better stands so watch yourself if you decide to hunt there. Even though they helped Pete by get him out of a bind with us they still was getting a peace of our money for doing so! The hell with Pete!
It true he running southern pines hunts because those are the same picture from last year and he grantee 100% kill when he should have said 100% grantee to take your money!

Further info on Pete Kemmsies, he has now shut down southcarolinahunts and alabamatrophywhitetails and has opened up another scam called southernpineshunts (southernpineshunting.com) in Perry Florida which advertises hunts in Florida, Georgia and South Carolina. He's still using the same pictures on all his web pages and you can tell it's him because of all the misspelled words and grammar errors. We all need to continue to post about this cheat on all the sites that we can. If you tell potential victims (clients) to search under his phone # [protected] they will see all of the complaints in one post. Pete can also be contacted at his new email address southernpineshunting@gmail.com or phone # [protected], drop him a line or give him a call, I'm sure he would like to hear from everybody. I've cost him several clients and hopefully a few thousand $ already and hope I can cost him many more, everybody give me a hand posting and maybe Pete will have to get a real job.

We planned a hunt last year with Pete in south Carolina, we were promise nice food
Plots, corn on the food plots and room and board with meals. Well during the time the excuse started popping up like there were to much rain with there were and Pete said that it didn't look like they were going to plant food plots...but he did stress that there would be corn on the ground, so the group we went up with agree to just go anyways. We traveled down to South Carolina and met up with Pete and then the excuse really started coming out. Pete ask if we could provide our own food because the group that was booked with us decide to come the following week so Pete didn't buy any food, will we said the hell with it as long as we can hunt. We did get to hunt but the stand were old as hell and not great to sit in longer then 20min... Hard on the back and my father in law just had previous back operation. I do have to say the deer is very abonant in South Carolina but Pete operation was like being on a wild goose chase! It wouldn't surpise me if we were hunting in someone else is hunting club or property! One morning we even had to call Pete because he decide to sleep in and we didn't even get into the woods until after daylight...your not suppose to wake up your guide! I would go hunting in South Carolina again but not with Pete sorry a$$!
P.s
Take a bath Pete, you smelled like catfish bait! And if it wasn't for your cousins pulling you out of a bind we Probaly wouldn't have even hunted! How the hell you going to manage hunt land with one trail camera? Probaly because it wasn't Pete land and he wanted it to be less noticable... Take everybody advice don't spend your time booking with Pete with that dam scooby-do van that make you feel like you may not even make to the hunt.

FYI, Pete is also trying to get members for a "hunt club" (Swamp Creek club) which looks like the same property that he had as "Alabama Trophy Whitetails" . I would check this club out VERY closely before I gave Pete Kemmsies my Money.

Thought everyone needs to know that Pete Kemmsies has shutdown Alabama Trophy Whitetails and Florida Slam outfitters (both sites are down). Pete has now set up "South Carolina Hunts".
My advice "buyer beware", see all the negative post above and elsewhere

This review is to inform anyone contemplating doing business with Alabama Trophy Whitetails (Pete Kemmsies) of my experience. In November of 2010 a friend asked me if I wanted to hunt at Alabama Trophy whitetails with him in January of 2011. My friend said he had met Pete at a show in Lakeland, FL and he seemed like a pretty good guy. I said yes and contacted Pete Kemmsies of Alabama Trophy whitetails and sent him a deposit by check for $425. As January rolled around one of our party found some negative reviews on line, we contacted Pete and he said ”You couldn’t satisfy everyone.” We believed him and decided to continue with our hunt. Two days (Jan 12) before we were to leave for Alabama Pete Kemmsies called and canceled the hunt, saying that it had been a bad year and felt as though if we didn’t have a good hunt no one would be happy. At this time Pete stated that he would return our deposits within a week.
To make a long story shorter it is now April 14, 2011 and we have yet to receive our deposit back. Pete has made a multitude of promises and excuses but no results. We have been very patient and even offered a quasi payment plan with no results.
I feel as though I have been lied to and robbed of my hard earned money while trying to be above board by an unscrupulous business person. I would warn anyone thinking of doing business with Alabama Trophy Whitetails or anything Pete Kemmsies has to do with (it appears that he also runs a business called Florida Slam outfitters) to be very careful and learn from our loss. I should have done my home work, there are several negative reviews and I should have heeded their advice.
I can be contacted at newtonfishman@aol.com

I booked a hunt with Pete for this year 11/20/2010. After he got my downpayment I have been unable to get intouch with him since. He phone # is not working. His number on the website has been change. Some women has a vociemail but noone returns your call. The way I knew I was in trouble was I never got a reciept for my down payment and here it is 10/20/2010 and I have no idea were Petes lodge is. I have filed a claim with my credit card company waiting to see how that turns out. This guy is a complete rip off. Buyer beware.

Alabama Trophy Whitetails is indeed not what any hunter would expect. We arrived on January 14, 2010 for a 3 day hunt starting on Friday, January 15. When we arrived we found out that the "lodge" was double booked for our hunt. Pete uses your deposit to lease land which he, his family, and friends hunt as well. His website claims only 6 hunters at a time are allowed to hunt. The best we could figure when we arrived, including us, there were over 20 people (family, friends, and paying hunters) at his "lodge" of which most were expecting to hunt. Even though I personally had traveled over 1000 miles to hunt with Pete, my group turned around and left the same night. We could clearly see through this scam operation.

Here are some points that every hunter should consider before booking a hunt with Pete:

1) The lodge is actually his home and you share his families personal kitchen.
2) The hunter bedroom accommodations consist of two eight foot by eight foot rooms each containing 2 bunk beds that could sleep a total of 8 people. If four hunters were to stay in one of these rooms there would be no room for any gear.
3) There is one shower for Pete and his family plus hunters.
4) Pete signed a contract to refund our down-payment before we left and a month after this hunt was supposed to happen we have not received our refund.
5) Even though Pete admitted he knew he was double booked a couple of days before we arrived he never called to let us know this situation. I am sure he thought that after we had traveled so far we would stay no matter what the hunting conditions were.
6) Pete has no hunting land adjoining the "lodge". Over half of Pete's land is over 30 miles away from the" lodge".
7) No paying hunter we talked to had seen a deer the day we arrived but most of Pete's guide/hunting friends claimed to have seen deer. One even made a special point to indicate the spotting of the same 10 point buck they had been having encounters with all season. Unfortunately, Pete had told one guy from our group that they finally shot the 10 pointer they had been seeing the week before we arrived. Talk about getting caught in a string of lies.
8) The "lodge" appears to be a sided trailer house with a small addition.
9) We bought our hunting license on-line. The Alabama Department of Natural Resources refunded our license fee and took down as much information about Pete's operation as we could give them.

A very disappointed hunter.
