I had purchased an airtel student pack connection through my brother Vijay Karthik nearly 2 months ago, for my new Nokia 6230 i. I was so eager to explore the various value added services compatible in my new mobile. So, I requested the airtel customer care ( my service providers) for the activation of my GPRS facility, almost a month ago. I was repeatedly told that it would be activated within 24 hours, whereas nothing has happened in the last 30days *24 = 720 hours.

I have called more a dozen times and have spoken to as many customer care representatives too. But I must confess that only my calls were attended to and not my requests. (I wonder whether this is part of the training programme of the airtel customer care forum, to effectively mock helpless customers like us.)

Now after the first few calls that were obviously ignored, i was more persistent requesting for details of the actual procedure. I was informed by your customer care rep. Karthik of Chennai that I have to type MASALA in caps. and send sms to 646, which I have done several times. I only receive a message thanking me and promising some settings shortly, but nothing happens thereafter.Then he tells me that my request is already activated and all that must happen is just receive the settings, which he said would happen in 24 hours (of course - standard - right ?). But I must tell u i have spent another 24 *25 days = 600 hours but nothing has happened as yet. Well, this Karthik, ur rep. was also making it very obvious that he was annoyed with my repeated requests and was more than harsh in his language. (Of course they are tyrained to be so... one wonders. May be he expected me to keep my mouth shut like the many other helpless victims such as me.) He also gave a promise / word saying that everything would be ok within 24 hours, failing which I can reach him anytime. But that has not happened. Neither have i got what I asked for nor was i able to get him on the line ( obviously he was avoiding me ).

Now I have also made as many requests for a reference no. or a complaint no., something that would give me a hold, for me to follow up on the service that appears wanting regarding my requests. But i am never given any such a thing. All i hear is the same crap of 24 hours. They know as well as i do, that once they have seen my call through, They are scot free. I am not going to get them on the line the next time. Its going to be somebody else. Thats the probability. So, its just passing the ball to someone else so that they face the responsibility or they do the same passing game, for who cares for the customer around here. I have spoken to Farhat of chennai after my ordeal with Karthik. All these people are from Chennai. She even promised to send me a mail and took my e- mail id regarding my status. Its a week and half now and I am still waiting for her mail cause i am so stupid, right?

Well after Farhat came Rajkumar. I remember all these people so well cause thats what they put me through. Finally it was Ram this morning. He really made me go over the edge, with his same indifferent attitude, plus a bonus of being either too dumb to understand my request or was probably playing too smart to make me give up on him. This fellow even had the audacity to be snobbish and reveal the true attitude, that he or none of them really cares for the customer. His logic is simple, but unappreciative. If i had called for one whole month, i must still be capable of making one more call tomorrow. Well, if this kind of statement is what u call logic and care and help, I say the whole damn thing is that u r running is a zoo and what u really do tot he customer is fraudulence and injustice. Ur system and the ones I have mentioned about, have duped me of my money, my faith, belief, respect and peace of mind. Well, since its Airtel - express yourself, I thought it would be no harm to really express myself to whoever is out there to listen .Well when i asked for the supervisor of the customer care reps. to register the complaint, i was not given access and this raj Kumar as usual made the same promise of 24 hours and hung up on me.

Am i happy to be a customer of Airtel. You guess. We have 4 airtel connections, 2 reliance, 1 hutch, 1 tata indicom walky and VSNL broadband network in our house. Now I am sure there is going to be some serious alterations with the first 4 connections. May be u really don't care losing 4 connections cuase u have a huge customer base right. But I am sure u may not have the same luxury for long with this zoo u r running around here and the bunch of clowns working for u. I am sorry for belting my emotions right out here this way, but I really wanted to let someone know of my pain. I would appreciate a reply given by Whoever is concerned with this dept. and is in the authority to do the needful and give a suitable explanation. Thank you.

P.S. Did i mention about my brother Vijay Karthik - no. 98400 59718, who went through a similar ordeal two months ago. Well If not, don't worry, u r going to hear from a lot of us shortly. U have it coming, i promise. Thank you. waiting for ur response.

Airtel customer cares are great, great enough to give 121 for all the mess. My phone was dead and I do not have an Airtel mobile or landline nearby moreover 121 should be done only through Airtel and afterall I somehow managed to do 121 through my friend's and to my annoyance I was asked to key in some secret code, I do not know what the damn shit they are asking for one to contact customer care, do you think these formalities are needed, I completely fed up.

Airtel is making a huge mess and making lucrative business out of this mess.

You Airtel rogues think if one can make 121 through dead phone...

I just had a very bitter and disappointing service being offered by the airtel customer service guys. Here's my issue: I just called 'em up to get a caller tune code for one of my fav. songs. The first girl who picked up the call replied they no longer provide codes, It's a real simple issue, right. I just asked if there were any reasons for this. Cuz i'm just gonna activate the service. And the song i requested is not listed online @ airtel.in but the code was provided to one of my friends by the same csutomer service guys some days ago. Here starts the most embarrassing service they offered. Although i never asked, she said she'll transfer the call to supervisor. Call was transferred to some dummy machine where none of the morons answered. I had to wait for 5 mins until the call ended up automatically.

2nd call: I called up again, the Customer service guys Vimal answered the call and this time i said my issue is not about dialer tunes but i just want to make a complaint to the higher authorities about the disrupt in service, so i asked the procedures in doing so. He again followed the same idiotic strategy. He discussed with someone and transferred to some stupid machine where none picked up the call. another waste of 5 mins.

3rd call: I called up again. The agent named anitha answered the call. She said she'll transfer the call to a Team Leader. Call transferred to abdul, A Team Leader as stated by himself. But if he is really a team leader, i'm sure Airtel HR managers are unfit for recruitment. I don't find at least one quality of a team leader in the way he handled the call. He blames stupidly on stupid reasons which is not at all acceptable for anyone who owes the service. Finally i had to appreciate him but in vain.

At this point of time, i should really mention airtel customer service sucks. When none could answer the call, why is it escalated? If the call is escalated why none picked up the call? If one Team leader is busy and had to drop 2 escalated calls, why the hell should you guys have a team leader or supervisor. Why alternatives aren't made? Having frustrated with the worst service, i discontinue my subscription with these busy morons as i have even better options who could offer me better service, quality and who knows a customer value.

OoOps I wasted much of my time on this stupid stuff.

New service from airtel, which is airtel call home sucks. There website doesn't work and whenever you call customer support it takes minimum 45 minutes someone to pick up the call. They have very standard reply that "they are aware of the problem and correcting it".

Airtel Customer Care persons are not updating information in Client Databases. C/Care committed for plan which are not active in their DSL Broadband Plan's and client is downloading data as per committed plan. Client cannot save Reference no for 1 month of time, when bill is generated, bug in Bill as per client committed with Airtel Customer Care.

If no reference no is with Client, then no bill will be modified as per Airtel Customer Care.

We have repeatedly requested 2 yr customer executive for deactivation of y! zone as d money is being deducted regularly from my mobile no.9934373861.As we have not opted 4 this zone. But till now no response is received from your side so i request u 2 do the needful as early as possible.

Airtel also charged me for not using the phone. I had used phone some time in 2003 .Then i disconnected the airtel connection after making full balance payment. Even after that i keep getting bills for so many months and customer care people calls and asked me to make payment. I told them the phone has been disconnected long back. Still they say you make payment. How can I pay for a phone bills which is disconnected long back and settled also.

Dear guys, be careful when you ask them to disconnect... Many friends and relatives have so may unresolved issues with Airtel and they all disconnected and have taken BSNL and Reliance connection.

Hi customers,

Beware of Airtel customer service. They promise you heaven, and do nothing. Customers were getting too much frustrated by the worst seen service form airtel. It is not the opinion of one person alone. If you register a complaint with customer care, then it is their duty to follow up and get the service done for the customer. But it never gets done. I have a lots of very bitter experiences with Airtel. Customer care is only to make the us 100% Fool. We think when we call them, everything would be Ok in a couple of hrs or at least days. But even for very simple issues they dont do it even after two weeks.

I am a regular user of airtel connectivity for mobile for many years. I have even bad experiences from customer care executives scolding the me literally and shouting at. When we tell the real problem they wont listen at all. The complaint even though serious and urgent, I have experience that they dilute the issues by editing our complaint and record in their computer system.

I have charged airtel mobile and it did not get updated in my mobile taktime and validity date. But I made payment and I got the message that your "recharge has been successful". Still in my mobile it did not update for talk time. I asked so many customer care centres and asked. I even went to biggest main Airtel office in Bangalore. They could not help me to find out why the updation did not take place, when I call different customer executives, they say different versions and many stories. Then finally I made a call to head office in Bangalore, they asked me to charge again and so that previous and present charging would come together like that. But second charging also did not update my talk time, but message came saying "your recharge is successful". You know one thing... till today I did not get the that talk time updated even after two years, I lost Rs 2000 /. in this charging process. Who cares... Customer care doesn't support. They simply talk in rude way... if we try to escalate the issues.

The name of customer care centre needs to be changed. It doesn't deserve/suits that name. If it cares the customer only they can have it. So best suitable name would be - customer cursing centre... AHHHHaaaa... wonderful name.

Second problem is I recently purchased a Airtel data card. Iam unable to use it for browsing. It always says page cannot be displayed. I called and all technical and customer care centre in delhi, chennai and many places in India to seek help.
it almost 15 days over now... Every day I am callig and logging complaints..locally and nationally too. To be frank, the local customer centre in chennai the worst. They dont even keep manners to talk to customers. Even if we call many many times also. they wont call back. But they just promise us that they discuss the problem with technical manager and would call back in a n hr. To make us believe they take down contact number also. They never called. I have contacted many many times in last 15 days to Dinesh, Karthick, Hareesh and Kamalesh and Prasanth... in local customer care centre. No response at all. When we call them they would promise that the issue would be sorted out in one hour time. It is all just fooling the poor customers. They never turned up. I know they wont come also based on my previous experience.

Nobody is responsible in Airitel.

They never get us the contact address and mail ID of seniors also. The only way is through customer care... hopeless care center...

Then i thought I would give back my data card and get they money back. Customer care says it is not possible.

I dont know what should do with the data card which is not working. Who will pay my money back. (A data card cost Rs 5 500/.)

If the product of any company seems to be not working, company should take back product and give money back. Airtel is so clever in this case also. If you want any kind of refund like this, they can be contacted only through a mail ID. If we contact through mail, they wont reply also.

So poor customers are once again cheated.

In the event of an issues no guidance in proper way from customer centre/technical centre. They know we are at their feet, once we buy their product. So they dont mind... they have fame and p0wer. All the customer care/technical care centre people are hopeless, to be frank.

This is the worst kind of service they give to people. This can happen only in India. Everywhere politics and muscle power. That is all.

Friends, " THINK TWICE BEFORE YOU BUY AIRTEL PRODUCT"!

I am a very(unhappy /ignored /insulted) lifetime prepaid customer of airtel westbengal. One day when i asked 121 about airtel unlimited internet's speed they told me that i will get enough speed, but he didi not tell me about the speed, i asked him again and said that "like bsnl broadband giving us 2mb/ps, reliance & tata giving 144 kb/ps what speed are you providing me??" but instead of telling me the speed he told me that i am a dumb, a noob creature who dont know about computer and internet, i dont know about speeds or data or something like that, and i must educate myself to know those things - ""pehle aap computer aur internet ke bare me seekh ke aiye phir baat kijiye ga". I was amazed to see (hear) his knowledge about "how to insult your costumer - (written by) (c) airtel 2007-infinity". I am a diploma holder of hardware, software, networking and i know the difference between b & b in speed. But i think airtel is recruiting mca, mce, rhce, mct s for call center !! Who think they know every things about everything.

From that very day my call to 121 or 9933099330 was refused by a ivr system which was telling me to send a sms to 121 writing all my queries within 130 words!

But this sms thing is not working for me because for every question they send me massage writing that they dont understand my problem well and asked me to tell them my problems more accurately. I send them massages in hindi bengali and english but they did not understand. Most probably they are from mars and dont know the earth's fourth largest speaking language (bengali) well.

So i came to this point(s) that--

1. Airtel sucks.

2. Do not buy a lifetime prepaid card of airtel caz they think that you cant change the sim just because you spent 1099 rupees for it. And they do ignore you.

Airtel is a Money Sucker :( I hate it....

I Bought a datacard 2 days back from airtel for Rs 5000 and a connection for 999 per month which they say they will charge two months rental the first time. I did all that to find out that I get a connection speed of 3-5 KBPS (is this what 21st century is ?) .

These guys sell too many connections without even releasing how much bandwidth their network can afford. Airtel has screwed me Big Time. I hate those Guys.

I got number of Vulgur SMS from Airtel Customer, when i called Airtel customer care, they ware not responding and even they never disclose the matter for action against Airtel customer. I have proof with my mobile and want make a complaint against the Airtel & customer.

Dear Support,

I have totally faded up with service of Airtel and specially with 121 team. They are not takig up the matter seriously.

I am using one post paid connection9903993112 provided by Airtel. I started the line with credit limit of 1200 per month and now this is 3600. I was out of station last month and there i was in rural areas. I was not online also at that time and not able to clear the outstanding amount due for me of 2 months that is 3510/- only. Airtel restricted my both outgoing and incomming as well. Incoming restricted without prior information since we are giving 24.7 services to our company and my reputation totally lost before my seniors just because of this.

I asked these 121 people that i will clear the amount on 31st but they did not wait for that and did block everything .

We are far away from my family and I should be in touch with them since i am from north India.

Moreover, I have cleared all the amount as said but still i am not able to use my number nd 121 people are saying that there is some problem with the SIM. How it can happen or anyway if happened then why I should go there at service center since my number has been done invalid by airtel.

They are saying that after made payment I should had inform them. If i do have on einvalid number then how i can inform them and if this is the procedure then what the system is doing. If they are keen ready to block the service then they should be ready with positive response to give services to customer.

Still I am suffering and do not have free time to go to any center.

It is a huge harashment for me from last 10 days and i have lost my all reputation in my company just because of Airtel.

I want mail ID of high authority of Airtel.

Kindly help me. I do have some different legal ways too to recover my line.

My name is Sameer Hashmi i realy love airtel service But now days im realy faceing problem with airtel line. When ever i make call, in meddle line wil breakup and so many time i have make call to customar care but they said problem is not from our said it's from ur side So finally i have change my cell phono but again same problem is going on. Please i want to now what happen to airtel service.
I now u r service is one of the best please do some thing so that u can have trust on u r customar.

highly pathetic Service all over.
Had experience in Karnataka as well as Maharashtra..
Pathetic customer care having dumb people who are not trained to talk to customers and Use their own brains to resolve issues.

They disconnected my connection so many times for no paying some stupid surcharge which they levied on my bill and accept that it was by thier mistake.

still they disconnect.and no Network coverage in HSR Layout in Bangalore and in Kothrud/Hinjewadi (Pune,Maharashtra)

I am really fed up of this airtel and I really dont understand why Gentelmen like ShahRukh and Sachin are promoting this airtel.(Fit for nothing)

we are badly unsatisfied wid your customer care services.your customer care executives[mr.anand-customer care executive, mr, vijay- team leader] ...they have least manners 2 deal with customers.Instead of SOLVING our problems, they made fun of us n gave us wrong informations.because of arguing with them, , , they deduct our balance to negative by activating services without our knowledge.first they told us that balance is deducted because of activation of music station ...but when we talked to another customer care executive that balance is being deducted because of friends chat activation... they themselves autoactivated the same service without our knowledge... they were so rude to talk that they made us to cry. when we said that by doing all these things the big company can be ruined...then Mr. vijay(team leader) replied, " its ok, hardly matters . you can move to media ...press, till your reach."...
we were mentally tortured by them. no doubt they refund our little money. but our maximum money was deducted. we are badly harassed.
if now the authorities wont listen our complaints then who will?...
kindly listen to our humble request otherwise if we have to disconnet our number, it would be only because of your customer care executives n their vulgar behaviour . you can listen whole conversations from the recordings. ...
DATED 20.03. 2008 at approx. 12.00 am. please take immediate action on our complaint and oblige.
