Adventure Kennels dogs are sick, malnourished, full of fleas and full of parasites

THIS BREEDER IS A LIAR
I Hope someone saved all the dogs she have from her
I guess the reviews about her being a puppy mill is true
All I know now all bad reviews about her is true. Sadly, I learned it the hard way

She made way for my shipper not to see her place. She made excuses and lie to me that she will just be meeting my shipper because it was traffic, and she lied to my shipper telling my shipper the road was rough and it will be hard for my shipper (my shipper thought she is just being nice, but now we know she is hiding something)

She is not a good breeder, she doesn't care about the dogs, it was all a lie when she say she love her dogs and that she doesn't do it for money because she is a wealthy woman..
Dogs has no vet check, no shots records from the vet aside from rabies shot.
Dog is full of fleas too! Also full of worms and parasites!

I called the vet in the papers she gave and they told us they only have rabies shot of all the dogs she bring there.

I bring the dog i got age 9months to the my vet, even the people in the vet cannot believe she is already 9months on her physical appearances coz she is really small on her age. The vet did all the wellness check, they gave her all shots needed, i requested for deworming and i also requested for fecal tests.

Fecal tests came and this dog has all types of parasites in her. I have certificate from my vet as proof. Of course we have to bring her back after her medication to see if all the parasites are gone, if not she wil have another medications to kill it in her body..literally she have all (giardia, tapeworms, hookworms, whipworms and roundworms). Unfortunately, I have other dogs in the house so we ended up treating them from flea and tick prevention and medication so they will not get the parasites she have (good thing we separate her first from the dogs, the vet advised us to put her real far from our dogs...so she is sleeping in the other end of the dog room where there is a huge pen that can hold 3 full grown danes and a door access to our backyard because we need to keep it open or else she will poop inside without any sign, she will just do it.

We ended up making a fence area for her too in our backyard so that is the place where she will do her potty because we are separating her from our dogs who we are also treating now so they will avoid getting the parasites she have (We really have a fenced area for our great danes so they will not potty all over our yard, but we made one for her so she doesn't go to the area of the other danes)...but this dog is not properly trained she climb up the fence like a cat (imagine a great dane climbing out of the fence?) she try to escape our fence yard too. She damages our window blinds and screen because we left and she doesn't like being inside so she make way to be out.

She is so used being outside feels like she live her entire life outside. She is not house broken and potty trained, we ended up keeping our backdoor open the whole day and night for her, she doesn't know dog bed, she will sleep in a concrete or outside under the sun, she doesn't know dog treat, she doesn't know being pet too that she will try to avoid being pet and will also be scared as if someone has been hitting her before, we need to tell her it's ok and gain her trust so she will allow us. Feels like this dog doesn't know love and care.

The dog we thought were healthy, good body, and height as what the breeder was saying and based on the 1st photos the breeder sent was all not true...
the dog came to us so small...
9month old great dane chart states at leats the dog is 28inches to 35inches shoulder height and at least 85lbs to 125lbs...
(this dog was only 25 inches shoulder height and weighing only 54lbs...not 70lbs to 75lbs that breeder say)

All in all this dog is friendly, sweet and loving. She loves attention.

The breeder is a smart Liar/Cheater because she knows how to get away from this by saying she is just helping someone to sell the dog...She also told me the mom was not hers (pedigree says she is the owner) Sire is owned by them ( i haven't seen a photo coz she said she cannot take a good picture, but in pedigree sire is owned by someone else)...full of lies

(Photos are how much we spend in the vet in just a day and the certificate of what they gave)

Adventure Kennels dog

I bought a Great Dane from her in February of 2017 and had the dog for a few months until I returned him because my finanaces got bad. She agree to sell him and give me more than half my money and never heard from her after she told me she sold him. I did a certified letter, mailed a regular letter and emailed. So if she doesn't respond in 30 days. I will see her in court soon. My dog was in perfect same and had his ear clipped and in excellent condition. She just never gave me my money. Now I want my money or my dog back.

Adventure Kennels advertised akc great danes

Buyer Beware! MY fiance and I purchased a great dane from Michelle Koenig with Adventure Kennels out of Huntsville TX formerly in Pasadena Tx. She was advertised for almost 3k however bc she was older (6 months) Mrs. Koenig agreed to lesser amount. We drove 2 hours to pick up our new family member, we got there and she had 2 great Danes in an office along with our puppy . She claims they were the parents and had pictures and plaques on her walls from previous dogs she sold that have won shows etc.. we signed a contract and when it came to the AKC paperwork she said there was a hiccup with the parents as they were younger than she normally liked to breed them and she was still finalizing their papers. She wrote on our contract AKC papers are pending and will be mailed. She even told me to send her pics when we got home and to keep up with her how the puppy did in our home. I complied as soon as we got home I sent her a thank you with a picture of our kids and new puppy. She never responded thought that was weird but no big deal. 2 months went by with no papers, I called no answer text no reply. Again didn't think anything thought she may be on vacation. Called again a few weeks later nothing, text and emaild nothing. I then started calling once a week with a text and email. Still no response. Googled them and saw bad reviews people with this same problem. I consulted an attorney and was told to send a certified letter before he gets involved. I did that she SIGNED FOR IT still no response. That was in August. I was being very fair in my letter I asked for partial refund since as a non papered Great DANE we should not have paid what we paid or my AKC papers. I have no intentions of giving our puppy up nor do I plan on breeding, but the fact she cashed my check and has not held up to her side of the bargain. We are now pursuing legal action however I hope I can help anyone who may be looking for a great dane. Her dogs are beautiful but she is a conscious artist.

We sent Michelle a certified letter on November 12, 2016, about the AKC paperwork for our Dane that we purchased on January 9, 2016. She never signed for the letter and it was sent back to me. I think she knew we were demanding the paperwork we were promised when we purchased the dog from her. I go around and around in my head why she won't produce the papers. Is it because they really aren't AKC registered? Is she breeding spot to spot and hiding who the parents are? Are they really not purebred?

We would know these things if she wasn't so terribly shady in her business practices. She needs to step up and be a responsible breeder. Otherwise, her business is going to come falling down around her.

Adventure Kennels extremely unprofessional, filthy, major concerns for the animals

Michele Koenig is the most unprofessional breeder I have ever contacted. She does not get back with you promptly, makes false promises about photos and videos, has an extremely unprofessional demeanor on the phone and in person, shady personality and a filthy establishment from the little that I saw on our visit. If you are in search of a boxer puppy and you run across this link of hers, please have a second thought on buying or at least go visit ASAP: http://www.adventurekennels.com/#!puppies/cbfy
We were promised a puppy from both of these litters that she is talking about on the boxer puppy page of her website. The first litter that was born in June, we were very excited, Michele took forever to email or call me back about setting up a time to come see them. When she finally did, she preceded to tell me about family drama, excuses on why she hadn't got back with me, etc. and then dropped the bomb that while she was out of town, someone in charge didn't turn on the ac in the kennel and it was getting close to 100 degrees being July in Texas and to make matters worse the puppies were all on a heating pad and all died. Then, giving her the benefit of the doubt and being excited about a puppy, we waited until the second litter she mentions on her website. She sent a pic and a video and my family and I were so excited. We waited 4 weeks and made the 2 hour trip to Huntsville from Katy yesterday. We waited at the gate for about 10 minutes, she finally sent someone to open it. My husband, son, daughter and I get out of our car and were greeted by 2 very unhealthy looking great danes with eye issues/infections and did not look extremely cared for. We then preceded into a filthy office that looked nothing like the pictures portrayed on the website. She indicated that our puppy was dead as of that morning when she went in to check on them and bring him out to see us later. She indicated how this only happened to one customer one other time (the loss of 2 puppies). She then conveniently had 7 or 8 puppies in a bin in her office that we could look at and see how healthy they were and could pick one of them. I feel so scammed and played and manipulated. Very angry that my kids had to witness all of this and be a part of the insanity that we have been through. She also said had one puppy from the first litter in the bin. I guess she forgot that she told me all of them died from being cooked on a heating pad without ac. So who knows what to believe. I truly feel she needs to be taken down and animal protective services needs to get out to her place as soon as possible.

Adventure Kennels never sent akc papers

We bought our Great Dane April 2, 2016 from Michele Koenig as a registered AKC dog. She assured us the AKC papers would be in the mail as soon as possible. A month went by and we patiently waited. Then I started calling, leaving voice messages, & texting repeatedly. She was always excellent about answering & responding back to texts as we were looking to purchase our puppy. Now she won't respond or send papers to us. My level of frustration is TREMENDOUS. If anyone is thinking of purchasing from her or has similar issues, please contact me at 409.781.1447.

Adventure Kennels akc paperwork on puppy

I purchased a Great DANE from Michele Koenig with Acres of Adventure Kennels on 04-17-16. Mrs Koenig said the AKC paperwork was not available at the time and would be sent in the mail with 4-6 weeks. I have a contract that states that as well. I have attempted to text, call, email Michele but have received no repsonse. I will be sending a certified letter today this will be my last attempt before consulting an attorney. I will say I am hoping this is an honest mistake as Mrs. Koenigs dogs are beautiful and she was very friendly and professional during the transaction. I love my dane just want what I paid for. Thank you.

She has been very friendly with me over the phone and was birthing while we were talking on the phone but is selling a dog for one of her previous customers and doesn’t have the papers yet. Should I be worried enough to wait and get the papers first before we buy the puppy or put a deposit down?

Adventure Kennels non-responsive, unethical dog breeder

Hello, we are the Scott family. My family bought a 6 month old female dane from this breeder (Michele Koening-Adventure Kennels) on October 19, 2013. We named her Millicent and call her "Millie" for short. She was a wonderful addition to our family and still is a special part of our lives. I am relieved to see this complaint board, as I feel it is important to share the issues my family has faced with our dane, and potential buyers can weigh our experience into their decision. On March 7, 2015, Millie was diagnosed with glaucoma in her right eye and was confirmed to be blind (Millie was not even 2 years old yet). This disease comes on suddenly and can cause blindness in a very short time, and there is no cure. We were shocked, sad, confused... Even if we could have afforded to have a specialist perform surgery, the chances of Millie seeing again was not likely. To make matters worse, I learned that this condition would spread to the other eye and the timeframe was usually within 8-31 months. This is a very expensive condition to take care of. In order to manage the pressure in her eye and discomfort, there were four different eye drops that needed to be given 3 times a day - three for the "bad" eye, and one for the "good" eye. The drops alone cost almost $200 and would only last about 1-1/2 months. Add the cost of pain and inflammatory meds and visits to the vet and you're now talking hundreds of dollars. My vet, and also other readings, informed me that this is a hereditary problem and that I needed to contact the breeder. I wrote an email to Michele Koening on April 18, 2015 and received NO response. In August 2015, we and the vet decided it best to have the "bad" eye removed. The drops were too expensive and the eye continued to decline. It was better for Millie's comfort and overall health not to have the eye. So, one thousand plus dollars later, her right eye was removed. Sad, right... it was. But we got through it. Millie adjusted well and was still as happy as always - and after all, she still had her left eye... that is until January 7, 2016. The glaucoma took her left eye as well. She is now completely blind (not even 3 years old). I wrote again to Michele Koening on January 8, 2016, giving her the latest details on Millie. I was surprised to actually get a response back from her on January 10th. She claimed she just received my email and that she would "be happy to discuss my concerns and would like further detail on "her" condition." Then goes on to say she "vaguely" remembers me contacting her - "but must have forgotten about "her" situation." For someone who claims to be a "professional" breeder of champion dogs and good blood lines, and how they love their dogs, and blah, blah, blah - There was absolutely NO hint of concern or apology in Michele's response. She referred to Millie as "her." There was no concern for Millie's well being, for the emotional and financial stress this put on my family. She "vaguely" remembers...she "must have forgotten." Seriously!?! And then proceeds to make me feel bad by saying "We have had a lot on our plate since adopting 4 kids last year and I've had some medical issues that have overtaken the rest of my attention." "I'll be in touch as soon as I can look over everthing on Monday." Well, it's way past that Monday - never heard from her. We all have life issues to deal with, but Adventure Kennels also has a responsiblity to uphold what they claim to be on their website. Especially since people put their trust and a lot of money into what this business claims to be. Millie's left eye was removed just last week, February 17, 2016. Another one thousand plus dollars... The good thing is she's recouperating and healing well. And hey, there are no more eyes to worry about this happening again. It is remarkable how well dogs adjust. Millie still is very special to us. Noone ever wants issues like this, you know. You think you found a dog that comes from a good, caring breeder, a dog that suits your family - you love it, care for it's needs, spend time with it... and then one day a disease takes both eyes. Wow! Well, life goes on. But I write this so maybe someone else might be spared the troubles. I have copies of all the vet bills and medical notes. If anyone wants to contact me to discuss, please do. [protected]

Michele is still up to her old tactics and shananigans. Claiming she is raising sick children and her husband is out of work. He is a thriving pilot with United Airlines and the puppy I was sold is not the puppy I was to get. The puppy I was FORCED with and the money that was stolen from me. Her “contract” that she does not go by and that I have to this day.

Goes all the way to her fraudulent property she falsifies taxes on. The dog is attacking my service dog at this point and I have no choice but to return him or rehome him. I cannot find him a new him. Since he is neutered she wants nothing to do with him. When she was so broke and gave me the wrong puppy, she also gave me the a puppy with a microchip that was registered to a female Great Dane born several years prior to mine.

Michele is a scam artist and a fraud in Huntsville, TX selling anything she can and hiding after the deals. Just run her name and you can see.

Adventure Kennels refusal to refund deposit

Michele refused to refund our deposit that the contract, that we both signed, states in refundable. We tried contacting her through phone, text, and email. She responded to one phone call made by my husband from a phone that she did not recognize and said she would mail a check to us. She never did. We ended up filing a claim with our credit card and will be filing a claim with the BBB.

We didn't have a specific puppy. They weren't born yet. I contacted my credit card company, filed a claim and was refunded through them. I would do the same if I were you!

I had the same problem with this kennel. I wonder if you bought the same puppy as I did I did. I'd love to get in contact with you and find out which puppy you purchased. To date she has refused to refund my money. I paid in full for my puppy.

Adventure Kennels - dogs are not akc as claimed

We bought great dane puppies from this breeder when they were 8 weeks old. They are almost 6 nonths old and I've contacted Michele several times in regards to their AKC papers that were promised in contract. There has been one excuse after another as to why she can't send them. We paid $3000 for two AKC pups in April 2015 (that came with gastro parasite...
