Purchased Acia Berry Diet and Life Clense. Both products were "free" with a shipping charge of $3.95 (each). Checked my bank account online and pending amount was $3.95. Received one product with no return info. Never received second product. Checked my bank account online on day of order and its said pending charge of $3.95.
Today see two charges for 87.13 each. Called my bank and disputed charge. The called the Acai Berry company and connected my call. Operator is obviously speaking from India and is extremely difficult to understand. Operator says the Terms & Conditions of the product says that you are enrolling in the their renewable supplement product and if you do not "cancel" your account you will be charged $87.13 for each product.
I obviously "cancelled" my account (that I never signed up for) and demaned a refund. The operator indicated that he "opened a ticket on my behalf and sent it to the refund department" I was then told to check my email "from time to time" for a response from the refund department. I asked EXACTLY when I could expect my money to be refunded and he said that I should recevie an email within 48 hours. I then said okay that's an email but when could I expect my refund? He said "wait for the email." I then asked for his name and the company president's name so that when I file a lawsuit on Monday, I would know who to sue. Operator refused info.
Called my bank back and they have to cancel my debit card (which I use daily) and issue a new one to prevent any further unauthorized charges.
At this point, I am not at all confident of getting a refund but note that I will be filing complaints with the BBB and attorney general and filing suit if at all possible.
