AAMCO Transmissions - new torque converter (they said my converter clutches were burned, up) new front pump and a master rebuild on a ford c6 transmission

I have written you three times now to no avail. The first time someone did respond and was supposed to immediately call me back and never did. She mentioned giving this AAMCO one more chance to fix this transmission properly. I did so and now it shifts SO HARD it is chirping the tires in stop and go rush hour traffic normal creeping driving. Also when I got it back this time, (it was manually shifting perfectly after I readjusted the shifter before I dropped it off), it wouldn't even go into reverse to leave the parking lot without a lot of shifting it into reverse many many times. Now I am doubting the work performed was needed! This transmission ran perfect for 5 years. That's when i purchased it from Transmissions Depot in New Port Richey. It had only stopped moving twice and was making NO noises associated with a bad or needing rebuild transmission, after 10-20 seconds of pause it would go normally again those two times within five minutes of each other! I will be taking it to a REAL transmission shop to see what is going on and am considering the media as AAMCO taking advantage of people. Ive been on the phone with them at least 30 times now and had it back to their shop 5-6 times. They are not very professional as the AAMMCO name in transmission repairs goes. Please contact me at [phone number removed]. my name is [name removed] and this WAS charged to a credit card and I feel I did not get the service I paid for. I am fearing to drive this vehicle as the shift is so hard that i'm thinking its causing damage to this regular Ford C6 transmission. Also I was at the AAMCO website when this complaint section popped up. Is this AAMCO TRANSMISSIONS?

AAMCO Transmissions - aamco transmission master rebuild service including a brand new forward pump and torque converter (! 00% rebuild)

This all started October 16, 2019. Took it in for checkup because it had stopped moving forward at a red light, then again at my road to turn into my neighborhood when I had to stop to turn across a divided highway. When I towed it in with my neighbor at first it wouldn't go into Drive gear at their shop, (AAMCO). It went into reverse no problem then into drive no problem or noises. A few days later they advised master rebuild including a forward pump and a torque converter. When I first got it back wouldn't shift properly in drive or manually. Did they even test drive it? They blamed everything on from my Hurst floor shifter, my carburetor, user error, and old truck to driving it wrong.? I've had this truck since 1988 and I would think I know how it ran all those years. no problems or breakdowns ever. First time I left it there was October 21, 2019 when they said total rebuild. Keep in mind not one problem ever till the last 1 mile I drove it home that day Oct. 15th. I have talked to them at least 35 times on the phone and had it into their shop at least 5 times since they repaired it. The last time I had it back to them was yesterday January 13, 2020 as per your corporate request to give them one more attempt at getting it right. It was shifting first gear to second gear to neutral then into drive with the gear selector set in drive automatic and it was in drive gear before 20-25 MPHThis last time I took it in it has a brand new Holley carburetor transmission downshift rod return spring and Hurst shifter cable installed and was manually shifting perfectly. Now it has no reverse unless you play with the shifter a lot and is chirping the tires when and if you can even find reverse jerking the truck violently. My old vehicle idles at 600 RPM and shouldn't ever jerk going into a gear. Now it chirps the tires when it shifts driving it around town in traffic. I'm tired of attempting talk and repairs with them. All of my contacts are logged down as well as all correspondence since this all started as per BBB and the state licensing people. When I spoke to you last I was supposed to be called back in 30 minutes which never happened as they were going to contact the AAMCO Zephyrhills, Fl 33541. Now the complaint is in your hands till I figure out how to solve this dilemma as I can not afford to put it into another shop to see what the difficulty is. I am beginning to think all the years I have seen AAMCO transmissions on TV has been false or misleading.

AAMCO Transmissions - deceptive business practices

On Monday 10/01/2012 we took our 2008 Scion Xb to Aamco for a clutch replacement. Our service person, Mike asked for our birhtdate and last four digits of our social security number. He informed us that this info is needed to authorize the initial breakdown and inspect of the vehicle. We then leave the vehicle with Aamco.

It takes Mike and his crew two full buisiness days to get back to use with a complete and definitive diagnosis. This is 10/03/2012. Mike explains what his tech has found. He tells us the clutch is definitely destroyed. Then we ask for an estimate, which Mike readily gives to us over the phone. We inform Mike that we need to review our options and that will come in to the Aamco when we decide.

Mike then explains he will call "around" to find the parts availability.

10/04/2012 Mike calls and informs us that the vehicle is ready to be picked up. Mike gives me tha balance due. I explain to Mike he had not yet given us a written estimate, and asked why they we proceed to repair the vehicle. I then went on to explain, that the balance he was giving me now, was much higher then his original "oral" quote. Mike flatly explained that when I gave him the birthdate and last four digits of my social security number, that I was giving him authorization to repair the vehicle. I REMINDED him that we had not yet been given a written estimate, only an oral estimate. I explained that he, himself had stated the information I gave was only for the initial breakdown. Mike again insited that a written estimate, signed by myself was not needed. I disagreed and then ended the call and headed over to the Aamco.

When I arrived at the Aamco Mike was there to discuss the situation. He informed me that Aamco actions were legal, and that I was to remit the payment as shown on the invoice. Mike and the Owner Mark (who was on the Aamco's phone) both explain that they were in their legal rights to do the repairs and charge the price listed. I argued for some time, to no avail. I was told if I want our vehicle, I would pay the price, stop holding up Marks's employee Mike and take my vehicle and go.

We ended up going from and oral quote of $1119.00 and taxes to an out the door non-quoted price of $1461.00 plus taxes. We feel that Aamco, Mark and Mike planned and executed a fraudulant transaction.
