My husband and handicapped underage son was also hired by Mike Kennedy about two months ago. It is one promise after another about our pay. From give me a few days to collect to the home owners never paid him final *PHP Spellcheck Trial*. We are now owed over $2100 between the 3 of us and when we refused to start yet a fourt job without payment of what he owed us he told us to go F... ourselves. The last home owner got wind of this refused to pay him in check but only in cash in front of us to ensure we got the money promised to us. However the balance still remains out there. I have all text messages as well as recorded phone conversations to back these allegations along with witnesses. He also asked us not to mention to a particular home owner that we were painting both interior and exterior of their home and more work lined up with them that while working ob the wifes beauty shop one of his employees stole a DVD player from the shop and he didn't want them to find out it was his employee or he would lose their business. In the last job he tried to get ne to lie to the home owner claiming we varnished what he was paid to do when we had infact hadn't, when we refused he sent us to purchase the varnish. and he then wondered why the homeowners would not permit him back into the home after completion was done.
The company did everything to try to resolve the issue, but after several attempts to contact the complainant, no answer has been received. Therefore the complaint is declared to be untrue.
I worked 65 hours in a week for Mike back in 2019 and was never paid a dime. He is a swindling piece of sheeit
Michael Kennedy showed at the "creditors exam" without any of the financial information requested, and without money. Judge ordered him to provide the requested info and to make installment payments. Michael Kennedy failed to comply with the court orders. In response to a text message that I sent him, he called and said he would send a payment in a couple of days, then he was going to start serving jail time. As you might expect, he did not send a payment.
So, now I've got to file a motion to amend the settlement amount with additional court costs incurred and for a summary judgment.
The kid has an industry-wide reputation as
being "less than honest". So much so that they know him very well at the attorney general's office because of all the legal actions.
Even Craigslist has grown tired of constantly hearing of him. They have blocked his account, denying him access. NOW he's really desperate for new hires. Bet that is good for
customer relations.
I filed in small claims court and earned a default judgement against Michael Kennedy when he failed to show.
I have followed up with a discovery supeona. I don't expect he will show for that, either.
I will continue to pursue all legal courses of action available to me, and I suggest that everyone else who has been a victim do likewise - including filing a police report.
A Brush Above Painting Co or Mike Kennedy has owned me money since he took my deposit and never started to paint the exterior of my house now I'm out $1300.00 and have won a judgment in small claims for $1504.00 tried to get him to pay back in payments but it never worked out. Went back to Court to to get a seizure of property but still have not heard a thing.
BOTTOM LINE STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!

Mike Kennedy took a $700 deposit from us (check dated 7/29/15, cleared my account on 8/3/15).
They called saying they were 3 to 4 jobs behind and our job would be delayed.
They subsequently stopped answering and returning my phone calls.
We will be suing Mike Kennedy.
Mike, respond to this complaint. You know I'm not lying. I can give the address and everything where I was working. And name everybody that was there when I was there. Come on Mike, I just want to be paid.
I am a victim of Mike's scam as well. I was contacted by a woman named Perry and she gave me details of the job and told me I was hired. I worked 2 days out in Northville a few weeks ago. Mike hired me with no documentation as far as an application, w-2, or none of those things. I think the name of the guy that gets him jobs/contracts is Richard or Rich for short. I have both of his contact numbers in my phone with calls and text conversations from him and Perry. I just want to be compensated for my time. That's all! I've been blocked from calling him, and he will not return any of my phone calls or texts. I need this problem solved asap. My name is Duane Terry. If Mike spent hald as much time worrying about painting that he did trying to cover himself from all these complaints there wouldnt be any problems. Unfortunately, everything youve read here is true and then some. This man is a criminal through and through, beware do not hire this company.
I do not even know who Alishia is. This is defamation of character and harassement. I do believe this is the same person who continues to harrass me via internet for the last year, and who has been advised by the police to stop of charges would be filed. Problem with the internet is that it is hard to prove who the person is. I have been in business for over 25 years, and obviously not because I would conduct business in the manner in which "Alishia" claims. This website Complaints Board.com does not remove complaints, even if they are false, so my only recourse is to respond to this nonsense.
MaddieM2 and Dondada (user names) are the same person. As explained to Mr. "Dondada", I had to push back the starting date of his project, due to inclement weather. I could not finish the exterior job I was currently working on, due to the rain. This is obviously out of my control. I had every intention of complying with the contract, and performing services. Mr. "Dondada" was not satisfied with the fact that I could not make it to perform services on the specified date, and therefore requested that his deposit be refunded. Their contract clearly states that deposits are non-refundable, as I have purchased products for their project which are non-returnable. I did however feel that if Mr. "Dondada" was not going to be satisfied with his new starting date, that I had no choice but to pay his deposit back, and be left with unusable product. There was never an intention of defrauding, I never blocked his number from my phone, I never did just "not show up", I have been in constant contacts with him regarding the circumstances. My goal is to make sure all customers are completely satisfied, and therefore some projects take longer than anticipated. I'm not quite sure why it was necessary for him to write this review about my company, as I feel I have done my best to accommodate him. He has advised me that he will remove this review, however this website "complaints board" does not allow him to remove his review.
Mike Kennedy from this company came out to give me a painting quote I paid a 300.00 dollar deposit and he never showed up to do the work and has blocked my calls i'm filing a police report today don't do business with this man.. Any questions email me at michael040806@yahoo.com
We've been defrauded by the company as well. They took deposit money and did not show, and have not given our money back. We're filing a police report and small claims. All around bad service. I hope other people do more than just look at their pics on facebook.
M. Harvey? Well, I do not know a M. Harvey. However I'm pretty sure I know where you got this name from, right?! You obviously have no clue as to what you are talking about. I am licensed and Insured and have been for over 25 years. I have no government actions against me, and I certainly am not a "kid". I have mainly repeat customers, thousands upon thousands of references, I have over 6 vans for the company, and own an industrial shop. You obviously have the wrong company.
The same has happened to me, and 5 -6 others (that I know of ) . This outfit has a very bad reputation in the industry. They are not listed as being licensed or insured. As long as people like this exist there will be abuse.
The kid who runs this"company" has so many cases against him that he can't own any property for fear that the government will catch up with him and confiscate it for back judgements against him.
Jeffrey Schechler, you contacted our office on 2/28/14 in regards to a painters position opening. You then
seemed to "remember" that you had worked for me in August, 2013, and that I owed you money, but you had never contacted me prior to that day, 2/28/14, you claimed you did not know my name, company name, or phone number, which is highly unlikely. How did you work for a company and not know your bosses name, or the name of the company you were working for? When I explained to you at length, that I would check my records, you became hostile and irriate. You went on to say that you never were given an application, a W-2 form, time sheets, or an employee letter upon your being hired. Again, I know that every single person I hire is given these forms, and I perform a back ground check prior to allowing any person on a job site. You became more furious with me, went on to say that you would be writing negative reviews about me on every internet site you could find. My secretary called you later that day, trying to discuss with you again, what job did you worked on, who did you work with etc...you claimed to not know any of this information. You told her you would get the information and get back to her. As the days progressed you started writing "reviews" about my company on various websites, pretending to be a customer, and stating what an awful job was performed at your house, and that I was a ###, loser and thief/scam. I advised you to stop this defamation and slander on the internet, and remove what you had written. You went to the police and said I was threatening you. I spoke to the Detective at length, she said you were committing slander, and harrassing me via the internet, and to pursue charges if you did not stop. This is the 4th time I've written to you, through the various websites telling you to cease this activity or I would be pursuing charges. I have no documentation to support your claim that you worked for me, you have written on various websites that you contracted my services and were dissatisfied, and other websites you claim to have worked for me, again calling me a ### and liar. You are harrassing me, and again, I am asking you to cease your activity.
