i was looking for electronic music on the web. i searched for some files on www.rapidlibrary.com and in www.torrentz.com and it told me to go to www.baydownload.com. after paying my 5 dollars for a trial version, it took me to a porn website. Then i called their number and a stoopid biatch answered told me i had to pay for the trial version. whatever, after an hour i finally figured out how to get into their web page to find that ITS A TOTAL RIP OFF> DONT EVER PAY FOR IT > DOESNT WORK > TOTAL SCAM > SOMEONE SHOULD SUE THEM> THEY SHOULD CLOSE THEM>>>>>BASTARDS>>>
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH BAYDOWNLOADS.COM If you sign up for baydownloads.com YOU MUST CALL 1-800-934-1875 ASAP to cancel your account. I fell for this scam and never received an email confirming my account, got suspicous and found this site. I called the number that I found in one of the earlier posts, THIS IS THE 3RD PARTY BILLING COMPANY, waited on hold for about 10 minutes and was able to cancel the account. The woman I talked to was Janet, she was very helpful and sounded like she had dealt with this before when I mentioned baydownload. I checked my bank account online while I was on hold and there was the 4.97 charge plus two additional charges for 1.00 each. If you wait beyond the 3 days I suspect that you will be re-billed the 40.00 plus two more charges for the two additional sites represented by the 1.00 charges. CALL 1-800-934-1875 ASAP and cancel or call your credit card or bank and cancel your card as soon as possible. I will probably check back with my bank and cancel that card just to be safe. STAY AWAY FROM BAYDOWNLOADS.COM
I hesitated when I was brought to the payment page which said requires $36 for monthly subscription as I expected from initial offer that it's $4 one time charge. I did a search which brought me to this site and it's good that I did it. I'm really thankful to you guys for sharing your experience here.
thank you to everyone who posted here. seems like everyone only posted because they were caught in trap. well thanks to you all I did not. Good looking out!!!
Well, for starters in the billing section they have "The United Kingdom of Great Britain"... sadly I put my details in but it seems I must have put them in wrong, my card hasn't been billed... lucky.
To elaborate on what others have been saying, you can type anything into the search engine and it rekons it has it stored away and ready to download. Biggest fake ever.
This is the biggest fraud I have ever seen on the net. People should seriously be careful about signing up for this.
Stay away, away, away from this site. I had trouble signing on, and when you contact customer service via phone, you get an adult web site that knows nothing about Baydownloads, and you cannot contact Customer Service on the site unless you are signed on, so it's a Catch22. I also notice you can type in anything, for example Bill Caron's nuts, and you get matches (I got four, and I am not an exhibitionist). I am in the process of working out a cancellation with my credit card company.
Thank-god for this site! Actually had my credit card in my hand ready to sign up, when the I found myself wondering if it were too good to be true, turns out, it is!
Thanks for all the comments. I almost signed up, and thanks to all of you, I won't. I just wonder how the other sites (like Rapidshare) can continue to give them ad space. I'm sure it is because they pay for it, but I would hope the other sites would check their advertisers.
The 1-800 number was not available to my area code in Louisiana. The customersupport.com website was actually a porn site. They charged the 4.87 and two additional one dollar charges and six days later each of those three charged almost $40 a piece. Had to cancel my card - they said the charges were from Spain. Now I'm getting porn in my email box and all I was trying to do was get Snow White from DISNEY for my daughter. I emailed ten minutes after signing up to cancel everything and never heard back. Can't anything be done to prosecute these people?
I found this site too late, meaning after I subscribed to baydownloads. I was ok with the 3-day trial period cost (it is Euro, and not USD, by the way) but then saw two $40 charges and a $10 charge on my card to sites I never subscribed to (um...who the hell are these people and why are they charging me??) That's what I asked when I called the 1-800-924-1975 and demanded a refund. I called again a few hours later to check the status of my refund and was told I would get in in 7-10 business days. You can bet I will be watching for it. If you got caught in this trap, call the 1-800 number ASAP!! Before you find yourself with an empty bank account. If you are going to rely on the email address to get things resolved...good luck with that. The emails I sent to them were undeliverable.
For the person in Louisiana for which the 1-800 number is not available, check the charges on your credit card. The charges listed on my card also included 1-866 telephone numbers that go to the same place.
I just cancelled my debit card because of this place. Isn't there something that can be done against them? I was planning to file a claim with the Better Business Bureau and maybe seeing if I can somehow file a claim for internet fraud against them.
