My husband had a credit card that was past due. After he passed away, I was attempting to resolve all of his and my outstanding debts. When I called the credit card bank, I was told that this account was already placed into collections with IC Systems and they gave me their phone number to call. My first contact with ICS went very smoothly. I talked to an account manager named Jeff and he gave me a settlement amount to pay which was a around a hundred dollars less than the outstanding balance. I had not received a notice in the mail yet from IC systems, so I sent the payment directly to the credit card company. I called IC Systems back and they confirmed that the payment had been received and the balance was paid in full. I asked for a confirmation letter, and they agreed to send one.

A few days later, I received the first "bill" from IC Systems. It was for the full amount. I called them back and was told that there was no documentation of any settlement on this account. That I had made the payment to the credit card company, so therefore I MUST have made the settlement with them. She was very rude and kept talking over me, threatening to hang up on me, etc. She said I would have to fax a letter from the credit card company saying THEY accepted the settlement agreement amount.

I looked again at my notes from the first phone call and noticed that I had indeed called IC Systems for the settlement. When I made first contact with the credit card company, they told me that they had turned this over for collection and gave me their number to call to make arrangements.

I called IC Systems back again, they still refuse to acknowledge that I paid the settlement amount, said there was NEVER a settlement amount.

I called IC Systems again the next day, and the Account Manager happened to answer the phone, and he VERIFIED to me over the phone that yes, he saw that it was a settlement, and yes it was paid in full. When I asked for a letter of verification he put me on hold.

Then the collection manager picked up I told Megan that I had been talking with Jeff and she denied that Jeff EVER told me those things on the phone. It is just a headache and a run around and they lie to your face and it is so frustrating!

I didn't even realize that this was such a huge problem. I receive at the least, 8 calls a day from I.C systems. I recently had an emergency hysterectomy and am 32 married with 2 little girls. Do you think this company cares? I tell them I am unable to pay at this time due to hard times and they say , so you will be charging 300 dollars to your credit card? what part of that did they not understand. I am not denying the debt I have. I want to pay it. The man I talked to today told me my husband should be working 80 hours a week to help cover bills. He proceeded to tell me that If I really cared about this dept I would do anything in my means to pay it like selling my blood. I almost fell over when he said that. That is wrong. He then told me I was not a morall person because I was not taking responsibility for my debt. I have had it. I can't wait to send my cease all calls letter to them. I don't understand why us as a whole can't stop these type of collection calls. We need to keep records of all calls, times, names and what was said by both parties during a collection call. I felt like a second class citizen after that call. I live paycheck to paycheck like most. My kids come first not some a%$hole on the phone. I would have been willing to give them 10 a week to at least show good intentions but not when I am treated like a monster.

I read through all of the posts about lovely I.C. Systems. We have been getting phone calls from this company for well over a month now 3 to 4 times a day. It's always the robo call no live person calling for someone we have never heard of. I have called several times to this company and never get a live person I always get the message that they are too busy to take the call to leave a message. I do asking them to remove our number and yet they still call.

Guess we'll be drafting a letter up from our attorney to get them to stop. The calls they place to our house are harrassment plain and simple and it sounds like they do this to alot of people.

I am so tired of IC systems calling me, there ph # is 651-204-1395. They call serveral times a day asking for Stephanie Holton. I do not know a Stephanie Holton.
I told them I just got this phone and yet they have me in the computer system to keep calling. They wake me up, my time is valuable and I dont want to share it with them. If you want to harrass someone, ok, do it one time, and then continue on with life. Good grief!
Someone probably gave them my phone number and wants them to call me to bug me.
How do you get rid of them with out changing your phone number, anyone know?

I have got 3 phone calls from I.C SYSTEMS, They will not let me speak and get very nasty with me as well. I got a cell phone from AT&T in Aug 2007, I had 30 days to try it out before the 2 yr contact took affect, I decided I didn't want the service with them, AT&T shut off the phone at my request 28 days later. I got a bill for $301 for 1 months service, I knew this wasn't right, So I contacted AT&T and they said yes I did owe that amount and this went on for 4 months and they finely figured out the problem, they charged me $175 for early termination fees. But in the mean time they sent it to I.C Systems, I tried to tell them what was going on, but they assume they are right, And told me today that I was refusing to pay and Hung up on me. So I called AT&T and paid them in full Like I told them (AT&T) I would do,, they said that I would still owe I.C Systems 18% of the balance, I said I don't think so since the balance was not right to begin with. I went to http://www.icsystem.com/ and wrote a complaint to them and I am going to contact the Better Business Bureau as well. I have know problem paying a bill that I owe, I may not have it upfront sometimes but I will do my best to care of my bills, But I was right in this case and I want something done, There is no reason to be treated like this.

IC System also suffers from technical problems where they report account numbers being off by 1-digit when the original debtor was paid. Of course, they are trying to get money sent to them without a valid debt. They refused to validate the debt according to the law and just finally resolved my complaint.

This helps. Go to the Better Business Bureau and file a complaint. This will get executive action.

I see there are contact names here and I'd like to add to that for people:

Thankfully a BBB complaint to my bank resolved this matter, IC System made no attempt to validate the debt or make sure they were operating correctly and ethically. Had I not lodged a complaint against my bank too, I would still be fighting with these harassing, unethical, unprofessional, threatening, ignorant, stupid, illiterate, lying, shams.

Fight!

There calling is unstoppable. I had a situation where I had cell phone for my parents who relocated back from AZ to MI. When they left they thought that the bill was paid in full to find out that there was a 154.00 balance left. So without any kind of bill of any kind I started getting these phone call starting at 9:30am and every half hour on the half hour for 2 weeks. I only notice that these people were calling like this when I check the caller id when I get home from work. But when I check my voice mail there is not message just dead silence. So the straw that broke the camel back was when they call Saturday morning at 9:00am and woke up my whole house and once again a machine not acknowleging whom it wanted to speak to.

I.C. you will get better results if you treated people like humans and not dogs. I am sure that you all have debt and someone from your own office is calling you.

I have been getting calls as well. Dont care. I will pd what I can. Press 1 for this or press 2 for this.I saw all this letters. This ppl say pay your bills stay anoymous.Interesting.You pd your house, so you can have a place to live first.Of course you need to pd for everything you have.If I wanted to give my number I would of given it to you. But I didn't, .I do not have to explain myself to you. Going on someone misery. What is that going to do?I wouldnt make a good debt collector. In a perfect that would be great. That we have a 3trillion debt from the president. Why dont you go have after him then?It all amount of money I so sick of it. How much money ev1 make.

Being rude doesnt get u anyway. Playing touch tone from one person to another wont work either.

When you do try to work with the creditor it isnt good enough. SO I give up. If I tell this is what I do this is what I do.End of discussion. I am sick and so is my daughter. SO LEAVE us alone. Barely can do one job.Everyone will be accountable how treat people . You might get away it now. But remember. It wont be forever.

Starting today 2/11/08 I started recieving calls from IC systems. Their looking for a guy named Mark Mayer at my phone number, I've told them repeatedly that there is no such persson at this number. I guess it does'nt take a degree in rocket science to work for them. I called them and asked to talk to a manager but the operator refused to forward my call. I further told the operator rather angerily that if they continued to harass me I would sue them for harassment.

I recently got divorced and only make one income, IC Systems harasses me everyday and has added all kinds of charges and amounts to a credit card bill, to the point where I can't pay ever pay it off. They are extremely rude and unprofessional they harass me 3-4 times a day. When my 12 year old daughter is home, they call and ask for me and she tell I'm not home(I am really not) they do one of two things: They either don't believe her and hang up or they say "When can we call her?" she then tells them the time, the about a minute late they ask if I am home. So she goes through a loop of some sort. I HATE IC SYSTEMS!!

I agree that IC System Inc. is in fact very un-profesional and extremely rude. Today I spoke with Gina who could care less that I had broken my neck a became totally dis-abled and unable to pay my Wamu credit debt. She told me to get a tele-marketing job. After a few rather nasty verbal exchanges she hung up and has not yet called back. I intend to pay this debt but after dealing with ICS I'm having second thoughts.

So this IC Systems Inc has been calling for maybe the past two weeks. They have not left a message so this morning I finally answer and they ask for my boyfriend. #1 my boyfriend does not live with me #2 I doubt he would give anyone my number and #3 He no longer lives in my state. So I hung up because I did not know what to do. How did they get my number???? I was almost scared I think I am scared. Is there anything we can do? To get them to stop badgering?

IC system is full of very nice and intellegent TA's. If you had problems it was probably due to your lack of effort to take control of your account. I talked to nick and amy the other day from that company and they were very nice, i would avoid adam though...

Over all IC SYSTEM RULES!

My husband gets at least 4 calls a day from these non-english speaking no goods about a credit card he doesn't have...and never has had. Even the name they give is different than my husband's, and when they ask what his name is, I just laugh. We've filed a formal complaint with the attorney general's office, so hopefully they can get these minimum-wage paid pain in the behinds stopped. They're always very rude and combative, but they're dealing with a Cherokee Indian when they get me on the phone, so I can overtalk the best they've got.....:)

Per the Better Business Bureau website regarding IC System, INC., the complaint contact person is Sue Johnson, Corporate Paralegal. Go to the following website to see the actual BBB webpage for contact information: http://www.mnd.bbb.org/commonreport.html?bid=554

I have also had a few conversations with staff from ICS. And yes, they are quite rude and seem unintelligent and non caring about personal circumstances. No one wants to have debt, and certainly those of us who do don't want to be harassed about the dollar amount we owe. I actually set up a payment plan with ICS to pay roughly $100 a month for six months in order to pay off the debt I owe. This was only after I told the person that there was no way I would be able to pay the whole lump sum at once. The response was, "well can't you just borrow it from your parents?" I said, "absolutely not", rather shocked that someone would have the nerve to say that to a perfect stranger. Then he asked, "Well what about a credit card? You could just pay with that." Are you serious? What kind of people are these they have working at ICS? I asked at the time the verbal payment agreement was made for a copy to be mailed to be in writing. I was told that I would need to submit a written request for the agreement in writing before they would mail me anything in return. Ok. So I wrote a very brief letter and mailed it out the next day. Weeks went by and I never received anything. Upon checking the mail one afternoon, I received a letter stating that my account was past due and that the collection amount was going to be reported on my credit report. But I thought this was why I set up the payment plan in the first place - to avoid it being so past due that it would need to be reported to a credit bureau. I called ICS back after I received this letter to question them about it and ask why I had still not received my payment agreement in writing. The person on the other end wasn't exactly rude, but not helpful either. He stated he saw the note in the computer that I had requested the payment agreement in writing, and wasn't really sure why it hadn't gotten sent to me, but he would go ahead a do that. To this day I have still not received anything in the mail from them other than bills. That was nearly 6 months ago.
This is absolute craziness. I've gotten 6 calls today from them alone. First call was at 9:29am, then 11:13am, 12:59pm, 2:32pm, 4:25pm, and last at 7:59pm. Yesterday was about the same - 8:23am, 11:25am, 6:23pm, 8:27pm

It is certainly nice to know that I'm not the only one getting these kinds of calls and dealing with these kinds of people.

I have never encountered a company that has such poorly trained, communication deficient, stammering morons in my entire life! These people have no idea how to handle debt collection phone calls. You can hear the frustration in their voices and the first sense that you're trying to challenge or question them. I just want what I verbally establish with these people to be sent to me in writing. I have spoken with three different people on three separate occasions, and not one of them knew what the other had spoken with me about or what kind of payment agreement was established.

I just spoke with Andrea, ID# 808 (I actually had the mind to ask), and she told me that she had no record of any payment arrangement that I had made with this company months ago. She then proceeded to ask me what kind of an arrangement I could make with her today. I said, "well, what difference does it make to make a payment arrangement? I never received anything in writing regarding my last payment arrangement, so it seems kind of pointless to establish anything verbally with you." She told me that due to "legal reasons" they cannot mail anything like that in writing. I said that I didn't understand why I was told to mail a request for my previous arrangement in writing and wanted her to explain it to me. She just kept repeating herself and getting flustered because she didn't know what to say or how to say it. She didn't even understand it herself.

So, bottom line is, they are not willing to put into writing any payment arrangement made verbally. I again told her that there was no point in making a verbal payment arrangement if it cannot be backed up with something in writing. She told me that she was making a note in my account that I was refusing to make a payment arrangement and that the full amount would be due in her office by March 13. I curtly stated to her that I was indeed NOT refusing to make a payment arrangement, simply that there is no POINT in making a payment arrangement if your company is refusing to give this arrangement to me in writing. She said that if I made a payment arrangement with her today that it would put my account on hold. I asked her what she meant by 'on hold'. Basically what she said was that this would stop the calls from them daily requesting payment. So I summed it up for her and said, "So what you're saying is that if I don't pay my full balance to you by March 13 or establish a payment arrangement, then you'll just keep calling me." She said yes. I said, "well, that really doesn't make any difference to me." I also asked to just have a bill mailed to me stating what my full balance is. She said that the next letter was not scheduled to be mailed out until April. What? I said, "you can't even send a letter to a debtor if they request it stating their balance?" She said no, that it's an automatic letter system.

This is crazy. These people have absolutely no problem solving skills whatsoever!!! A payment arrangement makes no difference, other than to 'hold' the repetitive phone calls you'll get from them daily. You might as well just pay what you can when you can - which is what I have been doing. I almost don't want to pay them just for spite. I've gotten used to the calls. If they think they can bully me into paying and threaten me with phone calls, they're out of their minds!

Listen, you ALL need to grow up. Instead of coming onto a website to talk about what terrible people bill collector's are. (For doing their job, none the less!) Go out, and find an effective way to spend your time, and pay your past due bills. Sitting on your tush and complaining isn't going to get you anywhere. Someone can call you and be the sweetest person in the world. But you would never know it cause you are immediately defensive and expecting the worst of the call cause you are in debt. Debt collectors are people just like you are. We are just doing our job and trying to make some money so we can pay our bills as well. If you would NOT become irate/vulgar like several of you have just confessed to, we would be helpful and kind to you. If you would EXPLAIN your situation instead of name calling like children, then we would listen and help you come up with a solution. We are all people, and people make mistakes. IC System is a wonderful company. Think of all the people we DO help. Obviously we are doing something right or we wouldn't still be in business, raking in the money!! All employee's of IC System are professionals. We may get somewhat agressive, but that is only when debtors on the phone get completely out of line.
