My husband had a credit card that was past due. After he passed away, I was attempting to resolve all of his and my outstanding debts. When I called the credit card bank, I was told that this account was already placed into collections with IC Systems and they gave me their phone number to call. My first contact with ICS went very smoothly. I talked to an account manager named Jeff and he gave me a settlement amount to pay which was a around a hundred dollars less than the outstanding balance. I had not received a notice in the mail yet from IC systems, so I sent the payment directly to the credit card company. I called IC Systems back and they confirmed that the payment had been received and the balance was paid in full. I asked for a confirmation letter, and they agreed to send one.

A few days later, I received the first "bill" from IC Systems. It was for the full amount. I called them back and was told that there was no documentation of any settlement on this account. That I had made the payment to the credit card company, so therefore I MUST have made the settlement with them. She was very rude and kept talking over me, threatening to hang up on me, etc. She said I would have to fax a letter from the credit card company saying THEY accepted the settlement agreement amount.

I looked again at my notes from the first phone call and noticed that I had indeed called IC Systems for the settlement. When I made first contact with the credit card company, they told me that they had turned this over for collection and gave me their number to call to make arrangements.

I called IC Systems back again, they still refuse to acknowledge that I paid the settlement amount, said there was NEVER a settlement amount.

I called IC Systems again the next day, and the Account Manager happened to answer the phone, and he VERIFIED to me over the phone that yes, he saw that it was a settlement, and yes it was paid in full. When I asked for a letter of verification he put me on hold.

Then the collection manager picked up I told Megan that I had been talking with Jeff and she denied that Jeff EVER told me those things on the phone. It is just a headache and a run around and they lie to your face and it is so frustrating!

I was contacted by this company and offered a settlement offer on an account with dell. I made the payment to them and was promised that this would close out the account. I since then I continued to receive calls from dell. The I amount that I made with them that was a settlement offer was reflected on the bill but dell insisted that they had not received the correct paper work from I.C. Systems Inc on the account to make it a valid settlement. I reached out to IC Systems 800 number and was assured the had faxed it and were re faxing as we were on the phone but that they couldn't fax the letter to me directly only mail it to me which would take 7-10 Days. Neither of which ever got to me. I made over 14 phone calls to IC systems in the span of 2 months each time I spoke to a different person and manager who told me that they would be resending me the letter and re faxing Dell. Finally, After 3 months of run around I called once again and this time I was told that my account was no longer with them but rather back with dell for continued collection and they could not access my account. I found this to be very confusing because I had spoken to a supervisor the night before and was assured that dell was completely in the wrong and that my account was closed. I was extremely upset and asked how they could offer me a settlement offer accept the money, assure me time and time again that everything was ok and then be told by one of the supervisors by the name of "Dale" and I quote "this isn't our problem, what part of that do you not understand?" I was completely miss lead and in the last 3 month that I was told by IC systems company reps that the account was to be ignored because it was in the clear dell has continue to bill me and tack on additional late fees and financing charges. This was a horrible company to deal with.

I have had a horrible experience with IC Systems Inc. I requested an investigation of my account with them against a doctor Sandra Glasson who unfairly billed us and my insurance would not cover the expense. I disputed the collection and IC Systems did not report Dr. Glasson's failure to respond to the dispute in the 30 days required by law. The collection agency was extremely rude and has still not taken this off our credit record. I am infuriated and considering a law suit against all the parties involved.

This collection agency procedure seems unconstitutional and gives the little guy no rights.

I just saw that my credit score went down by 40 POINTS!!! I went to check my credit report and this is what I have:

I.C. SYSTEMS INC

I never owned a Sprint phone and have NO CLUE why I owe $2, 420... It's 3:50am in the morning and I guess I will start making all the calls first thing tomorrow morning to see why my perfect credit history is being messed up... Does anyone have a similar situation??

You need to file a compliant with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) if they harass you like that, and you need to contact a consumer counselling service to help you work out your debt issues if you owe. If not just contact the BBB.

Complaints with the BBB can damage a company's image if they don't attempt to resolve it.

* If they did that to me and I did not owe I would call the police for harassment. They are commiting a crime if they truly believe you owe they need to take you to court. If you ask them to stop calling and they don't that is harassment.

I think it's sad how certain people like to come on sites like this to harrass and/or demean the victims of I. C. Systems in the same manner the victims report from the comapny itself. The company only gets paid by the client if they collect on a debt, so you can kind of understand why the I.C reps are overly-aggressive douche bags. Doesn't make it right, but at least they can justify themselves in some way, however weak, to avoid personal responsibility.

What's everyone else's excuse?

Next time IC Systems calls you, ask them how much you owe them. When the guy on the line says $7000 or whatever, up the ante by telling him, "How about $10, 000?" "Make it $12, 000" and then tell him you'll pay the $7000, and the rest will be a tip for him on the downlow. By this time he will be suspicious about it. Tell him you are waiting on a wire transfer from this guy in Uganda that contacted you by email to put 30 million dollars into your bank account, and in a day or so when you get the money, you will pay him. He will definately call you out as having been scammed by the old online phishing scam and that that money is not really coming to you...then you tell him, "Well, I guess it's kinda like the money you thought I was going to send you!" and hang up.
